Lindsey Vonn & Beaver Creek
Lindsey Caroline Vonn (née Kildow; born October 18, 1984) is a World Cup alpine ski racer with the United States Ski Team. Beaver Creek is the name of several places and waterways in North America. /5
BOYNE Racing congratulates Lindsey Vonn on her decision not to risk racing on her injured knee. We hope, and have no doubt, that she will be the one to beat at the World Championships in 2015 at Beaver Creek, Colorado.
Bad weekend for skiing, good w/e for watching ski racing. Saturday I heard from a friend who got a text from his friend at Song that the conditions there were even more horrible than they were last weekend. So we decided to double-down on watching World Cup Ski Racing all weekend rather than curse the crappy conditions. The coverage actually started Thursday with a practice run for the girls on the downhill DH course at Lake Louise on the Universal Sports Network - USN. Friday was race # One, and the first for Lindsey Vonn since her partial liniment tear in November. She finished 40th with her old friend Maria Riesch (Germany) grabbing the win. Saturday was the second DH where Lindsey improved to finish 10th while Maria nabbed her second win. This was the third day of sub-zero temperatures with temperatures hovering around -19 Celsius (-2 Fahrenheit) at race time Saturday on an icy course that saw several racers crash. The race was delayed for several minutes after Nadja Jnglin-Kamer lost an edge and went ...
Maria was so good yesterday in the 2nd run of the GS! She finished 5th with one of the best final split time! :) today she's leaving Beaver Creek and she's gonna fly to Calgary with Lindsey Vonn, who will probably compete in Lake Louise Friday :) We've also reached 700 fans, thanks! :)
Mikaela Shiffrin Of US Is 2nd In Giant Slalom by THE ASSOCIATED PRESS December 01, 2013 6:03 PM BEAVER CREEK, Colo. (AP) — As she glided closer and closer to the finish line, Mikaela Shiffrin heard the roars, the ringing cow bells and the raucous music from the loud speaker. Spurred on, she turned it on. And when Shiffrin crossed the line, the roaring took on new life as her name appeared at the top of the scoreboard. Up top in the starting gate, Jessica Lindell-Vikarby of Sweden, the last skier left, heard it all. She knew Shiffrin had done something special. Then she went out and spoiled the party. Lindell-Vikarby won a World Cup giant slalom Sunday, holding off the 18-year-old Shiffrin with a fluid final run. The Swede finished the two runs on a demanding Beaver Creek course in 2 minutes, 17.92 seconds, with Shiffrin 0.09 seconds behind. Tina Weirather of Liechtenstein took third. All the noise down low didn't appear to rattle Lindell-Vikarby, who won a World Cup race for the first time since 2009. " ...
Watching the lassies skiing at Beaver Creek in the good old USA! My favourite Lindsey Vonn is missing sadly! Have always thought the snow in the USA looks so much different from European snow! Daft I know but there you are!

Another great day for US Skiing...Lindsey Vonn completes the hat trick at Lake Louise by winning the Super G... with J-man(Julia Mancuso) taking 2nd today! Ligety blows the field away at Beaver Creek winning the GS by 1.76...that's a serious beatdown. Nobody can compete with him in GS right now FYI-Vonn now ties the great Vreni Schneider(my daughters namesake) for 2nd place all time on the womens win list with 55. AnneMarie Moser Proell leads with 62 wins...she could do it this year.
Ted Ligety fourth for 2nd straight week in super-G, this time at Beaver Creek, looks like Lindsey Vonn will win again at Lake Louise.
The ski season has now started. Large amounts of snow have fallen across Europe and this weekend saw the Men’s first race of the FIS World Cup series at Beaver Creek, while the Women got their season underway with the downhill at Lake Louise. Congratulations to Lindsey Vonn for her win at the first race and also congratulations to Chemmy Alcott who gained a 25th place. A great achievement for her as it was here that she crashed out in 2010 and had to have major surgery (and most likely countless physiotherapy sessions).
Lindsey Vonn has returned to the winner's circle in emphatic style, beating compatriot Stacey Cook by a massive 1.73 seconds in the women's downhill at Lake Louise. Maria Hoefl-Riesch (GER) and Tina Weirather (LIE) were just 0.01 further back in equal third. Meanwhile, the men's downhill at Beaver Creek has gone to Italy's Christof Innerhofer, with last weekend's downhill and Super G winner Aksel Lund Svindal (NOR) second and Kjetil Jansrud (NOR) third.
