Zvasiya to rejoin Chiefs for pre-season training: Kaizer Chiefs defender Lincoln Zvasiya will be heading back to Amakhosi, following his unsuccessful loan spell at Greek side OFI Crete. The Zimbabwe international had a decent stint at OFI Crete during his six months stay there, making six starts and two substitute appearances in the Greek Super League. However, since leaving Crete in December, the 23-year-old defender was inactive after Chiefs decided not to recall him during the January Transfer Window. Goal has been informed by Zvasiya's representative Alban Newman of Prosport International, that the Zimbabwean defender is still Chiefs' property. "Lincoln still belongs to Chiefs. His current deal with them goes beyond this June. He will be heading back to them (for pre-season training)" . Nonetheless, the former FC Platinum player is unlikely to be kept for the upcoming season, after Chiefs had confirmed that they will release the majority of the players prior to next season. Nyandoro to quit Sundowns: Esrom Nyandoro will leave Mamelodi Sundowns following weeks on the sidelines at the Brazilians. The Zimbabwean international is set for an exit at Sundowns according to reports that are pointing to lack of game time as the reason for Nyandoro’s desire to leave. Nyandoro has failed to command a regular place at Chloorkop under coach Pitso Mosimane, who has preferred to use Hlompo Kekana in the defensive midfield position. According to a source close to the player, Nyandoro will meet with Sundowns on Wednesday to disclose his intention of leaving. Sundowns spokesperson Kabelo Mosito who was quoted by kickoff.com says he is not aware of Nnyandoro leaving, but Matsatsantsa coach Cavin Johnson admits they could bring in another player before the transfer window closes. I would be happy if Kaizer Chiefs could sign only May Mahlangu and either Edward Manqele or Katleho Mphela, and then close the cheque book. We do quality and not quantity. Lincoln Zvasiya must also return from his loan spell abroad to provide back-up for our defence. That way we would give a good account of ourselves in both Caf Champions League and our domestic league. Love & Peace

THREE ZIMBABWEANS MIGHT BE OUT OF CONTRACT WITH Kaizer Chiefs COME JUNE Eight players from Kaizer Chiefs' squad will see their contracts expire with the club in June next year. This include Lincoln Zvasiya who is out on loan to OFI Crete in Greece. His contract also expires at the same time although it seems unlikely he will be retained by the club after that point. The players in question are Tsepo Masilela, Josta Dladla, Willard Katsande, Siyabonga Nkosi, Keegan Ritchie, Lehlohonolo Majoro and Knowledge Musona. The players are liable to sign pre-contract agreements with other clubs from January, which means Chiefs may need to act sooner rather than later in terms of offering them new deals. . Zimbabwean players appear to have really attracted interest in Europe during this off-season period, as Nyasha Mushekwi, Onismnor Bhasera and Lincoln Zvasiya now join Ajax Cape Town talisman Khama Billiat in their search for the greener European soccer pastures. Billiat is currently being assessed by Russina Premier League giants Lokomotiv Moscow in Slovenia, and the results of that trial period which is expected to end tomorrow are expected early next week, if not this weekend. Now reports from England indicate that Plymouth Argyle Player of the Season during 2012/2013 Bhasera is on his way to Turkey for trials with that country's topflight Turkcell Super League. Bhasera is said to be joining Elazigspor for a 10-day assessment period. So strong appears to be the club's interest in the Warriors left back that their coach, according to Bhasera's agent Ralph Nkomo had to pick up the player in England upon his arrival in that country from Johannesburg. “The club will start its pre-season training on 10 Jul ...

HOW THE WARRIORS LINED UP IN THEIR 1-0 LOSS TO GUINEA Troyes striker Mohammed Yattara scored the solitary goal in the 39th minute while he had another goal disallowed in the 90th minute. Referee Hamada Nampiandraza ruled that the ball had gone out of play before the cross was whipped for the French-based striker Yattara. The Warriors, who had nothing to lose in this match, appeared to hold their own with veteran goalkeeper Washington Arubi standing firm between the posts until Yattara struck in the 39th minute. Eric Chipeta played as the right wingback while Ocean Mushure was on the left with Felix Chindungwe and Lincoln Zvasiya being the centre backs. Pagels, in what could be his last match in-charge of the Warriors, congested his midfield that had skipper Denver Mukamba, Archie Gutu, Devon Chafa, Masimba Mambare and Tafadzwa Rusike. Roderick Mutuma played as the lone forward before he was replaced by Cuthbert Malajila while Mambare created room for Silas Songani after 60 minutes. Herald
The Warriors are currently in Senegal with the folowing players Washington Arubi, Maxwell Nyamupanedengu, Archford Gutu, Denver Mukamba, Lincoln Zvasiya, Tafadzwa Rusike, Rodrick Mutuma, Ocean Mushure, Silas Songani, Masimba Mambare, Eric Chipeta, Devon Chafa, Felix Chindungwe, Cuthbert Malajila. So yesterday I asked about the solutions to the problem that we have been having regarding our National Soccer team.I got interesting responses and I respect every other opinion. My opinion is that we should stop this so called rebuilding exercise. Our best players at the moment are young. All we need to do is be consistent with our team selection and let the boys grow into tough internationals. We need to blend in experienced players with grit to help the younger players grow.As much as we would be building ,we also need results along the way. This is the line-up I would have loved to see trotting onto the pitch last Sunday.Washington Arubi,Gilbert Mapemba,Onismo Bhasera,Herbert *** Daniel Vheremu,Tinashe Nengomasha,Willard Katsande,Bradley Pritchard,Khama Billiart,Knowledge Musona,Nyasha Mushekwi. WARRIORS midfielder Archford “Uche” Gutu has remained resolute in his belief that Zimbabwe can bounce back from the disappointment of exiting the 2014 Brazil World Cup and become a strong team for future football campaigns. Zimbabwe’s 4-2 defeat at home to Egypt on Sunday means the Warriors have one point in Group G from four matches and are effectively out of the race for the Brazil ticket. Egypt winger Mohamed Salah was the chief tormentor of the Warriors as he banged a hat-trick past Washington Arubi, to add on to Mohammed Abou Treka’s effort. For the Warriors, it was that man again Knowledge Musona who had cancelled out Abou Treka’s early opener before Lincoln Zvasiya headed in his first goal at senior level late in the match. Gutu, who was substituted late in the game for Ovidy Karuru, remains full of enthusiasm and determination that coach Klaus Dieter Pagels’ project will come right. “We can’t single out individuals for the defeat,” Gutu said. “We failed as a team and every memb ...
Musona admits frustrations Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona admits his frustration at a poor 2012/13 season in Germany. Musona was on target for Zimbabwe against Egypt in their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Sunday, only to see his side lose 4-2. Current AmaKhosi defender Lincoln Zvasiya netted the other home goal. Musona admits he is unsure where he will be playing next season amid reports the Hoffenheim player could return to the PSL with Chiefs and SuperSport chasing his signature.
Warriors lose again: Defensive blunders cost the Zimbabwe Warriors a chance to stop Egypt from stepping closer to Brazil 2014 after they succumbed to a 4-2 defeat in a World Cup qualifier tie played at the National Sports Stadium in Harare this Sunday afternoon. Mohamed Salah made a strong pronouncement that the Pharaohs have returned from their wilderness by banging in a hat-trick past the Warriors. The Pharaohs were up as early as the 5th minute as Mohammad Aboutrika capitalised on the first Warriors blunder, beating Felix Chindungwe to fire past an unprotected Washington Arubi. The goal threw the Warriors in quandary and it took the genius of a composed Knowledge Musona to chip past an overlapping Egyptian goalkeeper for an equaliser. Mohamed Salah then opened his floodgates, banging three with his first coming in the 41st before making it a brace in the 76th. Zimbabwe pulled one back in the 81st through Lincoln Zvasiya but Salah was not done yet as he completed his hat-trick in the 83rd minute to put ...

Malajila, who finished as third top goal scorer in South Africa, has regained the confidence of the new Warriors technical team. The squad blends 13 foreign-based players and 12 local players. BAFANA BAFANA UPDATES Gaxa's injury rules him out. Siboniso Gaxa has been forced out of the Bafana Bafana team due to injury, with Siyanda Xulu expected to replace the defender in coach Gordon Igesund’s travelling squad. Igesund has been dealt yet another blow with the news that Gaxa has been forced onto the sidelines. Gaxa, who played a key part in Kaizer Chiefs’ league and Nedbank Cup championship winning season, has been ruled out of South Africa’s upcoming fixtures because of a hamstring injury. Gaxa picked up the injury in last weekend’s Nedbank Cup final, and was subsequently replaced by Lincoln Zvasiya. The defender’s withdrawal comes on the back of the news that both Tshepo Masilela and Kagisho Dikgacoi have pulled out of the squad, owing to injury. It was reported late last night that the two players will not be a part of the squad preparing to face Lesotho in an international friendly, as well as the two 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Central African Republic and Ethiopia in June. Road to the final Both sides played four games to reach the final, with AmaKhosi winning all their matches in 90 minutes, while SuperSport needed extra time and penalties to get past Maritzburg United, and were also taken to extra time by Platinum Stars before winning 3-2. Chiefs faced two clubs from the NFD (Polokwane City and United FC) along the way, with the Tshwane team playing all their matches against PSL opposition with the exception of the 2-1 win over Vasco da Gama in Cape Town. The Soweto outfit found the net eight times in their four games, conceding just one goal. The goals have been evenly shared around for Stuart Baxter’s team. No one player has bagged more than a single goal: Siboniso Gaxa, Morgan Gould, Mandla Masango Sthembiso Ngcobo, Kingston Nkhatha, Lincoln Zvasiya, Lehlohonolo Majoro and George Lebese have all been on the score-sheet. Katsande and Nkhatha still in the cold Kaizer Chiefs defensive midfielder Willard Kastande has once again beenoverlooked by Warriors coach Klaus-Dieter Pagels in the squad to face Egypt and Guinea in World Cup qualifiers match next month. The Warriors host Egypt on 9 June before travelling to Conakry to play Guinea the following weekend. Recently, Pagels hinted that he could consider Katsande in a squad that lacks a natural holding midfielder following growing pressure from fans to include the midfield hardman.Archford Gutu is currently playing in that role although he is a natural attacker. Although Pagels is yet to make publicthe squad for the two assignments, Kaizer Chiefs confirmed that Katsande has once again been sidelined, while Matthew Rusike and Lincoln Zvasiya have retained their national team places. “The duo of Mathew Rusike and Lincoln Zvasiya have been called up to the Zimbabwean national team for2014 World Cup qualifiers against Egypt and Guinea next month,” read a statement on the club ...

As the investigation of the infamous Asiagate scandal that has rocked Zimbabwe comes to an end, an independent committee has recommended that 13 of the players involved should receive lifetime bans from the game. While the names of the players are yet to be revealed, it is thought that the results of the investigation will be told to the world later today, with seven 10-year bans, 37 five-year bans and 25 two-year bans, set to be handed out to the culprits. A host of PSL based Zimbabweans including, Khama Billiat, Willard Katsande, Kingstone Nkhata, Cuthbert Malajila, Energy Murambadoro and Lincoln Zvasiya have all been absolved of any wrong doing, however the likes of Method Mwanjali, Thomas Sweswe and Nyasha Mushekwi are all still waiting to hear the results. We were all hurt and dissappointed by the warriors failure to qualify for the AFCON. Asi there is always tommorrow. Ngatisarasai mbereko nekufirwa. Just after February we need to be behind them again in the quest to qualify for the World Cup. Looking at the team, I see quite a number of quality players and a number of spent forces too. What we need to do now is build from the good ones and retire the spent forces. If i were to be the coach today, my team would be built around Ovidy Karuru, Knowledge Musona, Khama Billiart, Cuthbert Malajila, Denver Mukamba, Lincoln Zvasiya and few more and retire the likes of Esrom Nyandoro and the Age cheaters Tinashe Nengomasha and Tapiwa Kapini. Just read some spurious report alleging that Chiefs want Carlos Queiroz to coach Kaizer Chiefs. Comrades this needs to be opposed. That man is a failure. He failed as Real Madrid coach. He failed at a team with Zidane, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Claude Makelele, Raul etc. How worse will it be when he coaches Lincoln Zvasiya, Abia Nale, Lucky Baloyi not to mention Majoro. No thankyou. If Carlos comes here. He will be an assistant. That's what he seems to do well.
