Leslie Frazier said Matt Cassel will be the starter for the season finale.
Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier reveals that Matt Cassel will continue to be his side's starting quarterback in the final week of the season.
Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said that QB Matt Cassel would start the season finale against the Detroit Lions Sunday, with Christian Ponder serving as the backup. Cassel had his worst performance this season this past Sunday in a 42-14 loss at Cincinnati. He went 13 of 27 for 114 yards
Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier is trying to concentrate on winning the last game of the season, not the status of his job.
8. Minnesota Vikings Texas A&M Johnny Manziel There are so many variables with this projection. Could we see Manziel playing for Leslie Frazier? Frankly … no. (We’d be curious as heck how it would play about, but it’s tough to picture.) But all the guts and athleticism that GM Rick Spielman favored in Christian Ponder can be found in Manziel — along with much more natural talent — that would make Vikings fans hearken back to the days of Fran Tarkenton. Whom, some have suggested, Manziel might be the second coming of. A Manziel-Adrian Peterson-Cordarelle Patterson offense would be fun heaped upon gratuitous fun, would it not? This is from Yahoo Mock draft dated 12/19
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said on Monday that the Vikings plan to stick with their current pecking order at quarterback, starting Matt Cassel on Sunday against the Detroit Lions and keeping Christian Ponder active as his backup.

Wayman's NFL Week 16 Power Rankings!!! 23. Minnesota Vikings This Week's Rank: 23 Last Week's Rank: 25 Differential: +2 Another win for the Minnesota Vikings—this one without Adrian Peterson or Toby Gerhart in the backfield—yet it looks like head coach Leslie Frazier will be hunting for a new job after the season ends. Frazier and quarterback Christian Ponder's days in Minnesota are numbered, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, but one person who has earned a chance to stick around in 2014 is quarterback Matt Cassel. The former Chief and Patriot, Cassel has been the Vikings' most reliable quarterback this season. In Week 15, he played well despite the absence of star running back Adrian Peterson. With an early pick in the 2014 first round and the three first-rounders from last year's class, the new head coach will inherit a ton of talent. Now the Vikings need someone who can manage and develop it.
Dear Zygi and Mark Wilf. Please don't fire Leslie Frazier. .This has just been one of those tough years. However if u do fire Frazier please go and get Lovie Smith.

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Philadelphia Eagles were soaring after a big win in the snow the week before. This game was inside. Adrian Peterson was missing. The stage was set for another step toward the playoffs. Well, Matt Cassel and the Minnesota Vikings just made the flight path a bit bumpier. Cassel passed for two touchdowns and 382 yards, the most by a Minnesota quarterback since Brett Favre was here, and ran for another score to lead the injury-depleted Vikings to a 48-30 victory that snapped a five-game winning streak by the Eagles. "I don't think you can ever count out our players. We've had some difficult moments this season, for sure, but I always believed," coach Leslie Frazier said. "Even early in the week I said, 'This game really doesn't have to be this close,' except for the fact that we were going with so many guys in backup roles." With Peterson and Toby Gerhart out, third-stringer Matt Asiata rushed for his first three career touchdowns. Greg Jennings caught a career-high 11 passes for 163 yards. ...
MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings team president Mark Wilf would not comment on the futures of general manager Rick Spielman or coach Leslie Frazier after the team's 48-30 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, saying the team's owners were "just going to enjoy the win and try to win out the...

Report: Vikings express interest in Penn State coach Bill O'Brien The Minnesota Vikings entered Sunday with three games left in their season, but that doesn't mean club executives haven't started looking for their next coach. One of the first calls reportedly went to Penn State coach Bill O'Brien. With the Vikings sitting at 3-9-1 and many expecting Leslie Frazier to be let go after the year, O'Brien was approached by the team, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. O'Brien, offensive coordinator with the New England Patriots before being hired by Penn State in 2012, had interviews with the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns about their head coachings jobs after last season. This time the Vikings and Houston Texans have checked in with O'Brien, according to La Canfora. The report says that O'Brien felt obligated to remain at Penn State for a second season but that his relationship with school officials has become more strained. The NFL Network, meanwhile, reported that Vikings general manager ...
An interesting morning on the pregame shows. ESPN's Ed Werder says the Packers believe Aaron Rodgers will play next Sunday against Steelers. ESPN's Chris Mortenson says Mike McCarthy is among the NFL coaches on Texas's wish list to replace Mack Brown. Our friend Aaron Nagler notes that McCarthy's contract still has 2 years on it. Finally, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Silver report that Vikings coach Leslie Frazier and QB Christian Ponder likely are gone after the season, but that they won't trade RB Adrian Peterson. They want Peterson to open their new stadium.
The end appears to be near for Leslie Frazier and the Minnesota Vikings. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday on NFL Network's "NFL GameDay Morning" that the prospects of Frazier returning in 2014 are said to be "grim," according to team sources and sources familiar with ownership's thinking. Frazier is well-liked by ownership, but it's unlikely to be enough to dissuade the 3-9-1 Vikings from going in another direction after the season. Rapoport has been told Minnesota will target a young coach -- likely a current NFL assistant -- with "star power." That's bad news for veteran coaches looking for a big chair. Former Bears coach Lovie Smith should get a call, according to Rapoport, but the team is less likely to target a current NFL head coach or college coach. Rapoport reports Vikings general manager Rick Spielman will be back next year, according to sources familiar with the thinking of the team's brass. The Vikings' quarterback situation provides further intrigue. According to Rapoport, the "c ...

My Vikings took another one on the chin. AP got nicked and missed the end of the game. The officiating was horrible and most likely cost us the game. Again, we are being out coached. Leslie Frazier may be a good position coach, but he seems really overwhelmed at being the head coach. So much talent on this team and he flips and flops so much the players don't even know what is going on. They hold the Ravens in check all day on kick off returns and so when it really counts, they put one up short and it gets returned for a TD. They are keeping the passing game in check all day, and when it is crunch time, we go into prevent. Stay with the one that got you there. It is not that hard.
Injury Report: ** Vikings RB Adrian Peterson suffered a sprained foot when he got rolled up on in the 1st half of Sunday’s game. "The update is sprained foot so far," HC Leslie Frazier said afterward. It sounds like AP will still undergo additional testing. The severity of the sprain will determine how long he's sidelined, but the Vikings have no reason to rush their franchise player back. Consider Peterson doubtful for Week 15 and questionable to play again this season. We'll continue to update his status as we learn more. ** Lions RB Reggie Bush tweaked his injured calf in the pregame snow at Philadelphia on Sunday. He never got on the field once the game kicked off. HC Jim Schwartz said it was not the kind of day on which to test his top back. Joique Bell stepped in for 69 yards and a TD on 23 carries, plus a team-high 4 catches for 58 more yards. We'll keep an eye on Bush's status heading into Week 15 (vs. Baltimore). ** Dolphins RB Lamar Miller sustained a concussion in the 3rd quarter of ...

Dear Marc Trestman, An NFL game is 4 quarters! You have the top WR duo in the NFL, Alshon Jeffery had over 200 yds early in the fourth! Yes you out coached Leslie Frazier(not hard) for about 3 1/2 quarters, but then your at calling went to crap. And oh yeah, please get rid of that former OSU piece of garbage Mel Tucker, easily one of the worst DCs in the NFL
If you put Marc Trestman and Leslie Frazier in a room with a door that opened outward, they'd never figure it out and die of starvation.
The Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier & the GM Rick Spielman don't have control over this team on or off the field The Vikings players do not respect them , and the way they are playing and conducting themselves shows Minnesota they need to be replaced with a Head Coach and a GM they can respect This type of behavior off the field of drugs , alcohol and assault did not happen in Bud Grants or Jerry Burns era because they had control and the respect of the players !

Freeman banged up, Ponder likely to start (Yahoo Sports) - EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- Josh Freeman has a concussion and Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier says he will likely turn the offense back over to Christian Ponder for the game against Green Bay on Sunday night.
So now 2 days after the fact, we get Josh Freeman has concussion like symptoms. What does that mean? He's so bad that he must have a head injury? So we get this great story from Leslie Frazier. "We need Christian Ponder to play the best game of his life." I hear Jeff Garcia is looking for a job.

Why don't the Vikings start Matt Cassel it makes no sense Leslie Frazier might be the worst coach in the NFL
Vikings QB Josh Freeman to start against Packers this Sunday... Josh Freeman's debut with the Vikings couldn't have gone much worse. He completed 20 of 53 passes for 190 yards with an interception, but when Minnesota faces Green Bay Sunday night, the quarterback will make his second straight start, coach Leslie Frazier said Tuesday. “It's frustrating,” Freeman said his play in the Monday night loss to the Giants. “It's disappointing. But at the same time I see areas that are manageable in terms of us definitely getting better. We're going to develop that chemistry. A lot of these plays that are just a hair off, they'll start hitting for us.” Even if you conceded that Freeman was rushed into duty only two weeks after the team signed him, there really is no downside to the Vikings seeing what they have. They are clearly ready to move on from Christian Ponder, their 2011 first-round pick, and at this stage of his career, Matt Cassel is nothing more than a solid backup. Which means that Minnesota can ...
Freeman will start Week 8 Vikings HC Leslie Frazier named QB Josh Freeman his starter for this weekend's game against the Packers. It says a lot about QBs Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel, who Minnesota obviously wants nothing to do with. Freeman turned in arguably the worst QB performance of the season on Monday night, completing 20 of 53 passes (37.7%) for 190 yards (3.6 yards per attempt), 0 TDs and 1 INT. He's not a Week 8 fantasy option. Hopefully he can string together a few completions to open up some room for RB Adrian Peterson. Stewart practices Tuesday Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankles) made his practice debut on Tuesday. He said afterward that he felt "good" and that he's targeting a Week 9 return. J-Stew figures to be eased back in and won't be a recommended fantasy play right away. But he's capable of emerging as the lead back in Carolina's committee down the stretch. Stewart is worth stashing in most fantasy leagues. Packers will "consider" placing Finley on IR ESPN's Ed Werder re ...

Leslie Frazier. I like Leslie Frazier. He seems like a good guy. That said, he has been out coached the last couple of weeks. There is no valid excuse for not seeing the TE out wide right on the fake field goal. Call a timeout if you see that. At some point it is on the coach. Perhaps it is Leslie Frazier that needs to go. To wit: - The Vikings continue to get beat in all three facets of each game. A good coach does not let that happen. Not week in and week out with a team that had 7 returning Pro Bowlers and several off-season upgrades - The Vikings gave up 249 kick return yards to Devin Hester last week. Sure, he is one of the best KR ever. BUT, he set an all-tme Bears record. Frazier and his coaching staff have to adjust - even if it means kicking it out of bounds. A pass on this first offense could be considered - BUT - The Vikings followed that up this week by giving up a fake punt for a first down and a fake field goal for a touchdown on a play where NOBODY on the Vikings - - not the coaches, not the players on the field, not the players on the bench - - appeared to notice Cleveland TE Jordan Cameron standing all alone along the sideline as they lined up for the field goal. Is anybody paying attention? - Frazier has stated this yea ...
Alright, everyone into throwing Christian Ponder under the bus do these things: - watch the last 18 games that Matt Cassel played with the Chiefs WITH an offensive line - realize EVERY sack has been due to a missed blocking assignment that SHOULD have easily been picked up - realize that Leslie Frazier may actually be a zombie, how do you NOT throw an ENORMOUS fit after that punt fumble. You need to Ron Gardenhire that stuff. You either get the play looked at or get kicked out of the game. You just became a wet blanket for your team AND got a 15 yd penalty. Unacceptable from the head table.
Leslie Frazier got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Who do they think he is, Ron Gardenhire?
Christian Ponder is projected to gain 00.00 points on Sunday. Matt Cassel on the other hand it's projected to gain 13 points. Does NFL Network know something Leslie Frazier doesn't?
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder got off to another slow start. So did Leslie Frazier give any thought to playing Matt Cassel in Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears? No way, the coach says.
Stuff that probably only interests me - The Manning brothers passed for 912 yards and 11 touchdowns on the opening weekend. Peyton won, Eli lost. - The Patriots open the season with consecutive games against rookie quarterbacks - Andrew Luck has played turnover-free football in his last four regular-season games. - Chicago's Marc Trestman joins Marv Levy, Mike Holmgren and John Harbaugh with a first career NFL coaching victory over Cincinnati - Chip Kelly joined Jimmy Johnson, Leslie Frazier and Jim Schwartz with a first career NFL coaching victory against the Redskins. - Jason Witten caught three total touchdowns in all of 2012. He caught two on Sunday night. - Andy Reid left the NFC East in 2013 but the NFC East did not leave him. His Chiefs play the next three weeks against the Cowboys, Eagles and Giants - Of the nine teams that have appeared on Hard Knocks, only one went on to win a division title, the 2009 Bengals. - The Dolphins, Vikings and Titans are the only teams that open the season with their ...

Letroy Guion and Fred Evans are competing for the Vikings' starting nose tackle job. With Kevin Williams and Sharrif Floyd swapping reps at the three-technique, coach Leslie Frazier said that nose tackle is Guion and Evan's job to lose. While Guion was the starter last season, Pro Football Focus graded Evans as the superior player. Both have received reps in the first-team base defense during organized team activities Source: ESPN 1500 Twin Cities via Rotoworld
Vikings | Sharrif Floyd won't start - Minnesota Vikings DT Sharrif Floyd is expected to come off the bench as a backup to DT Kevin Williams this year. Head coach Leslie Frazier wants Floyd, the team's first of their first-round draft picks, to play in a rotation with Williams to help give Williams some rest. If both players emerge as the team's two best defensive tackles, it's possible one could be moved to nose tackle so they can play together. Williams is in the final...

Coach talks up Christian Ponder; reviews aren't as hot - As the Vikings wrapped up minicamp Thursday coach Leslie Frazier had kind words about his quarterback, Christian Ponder. ESPN's NFC North blogger, however, did not. Frazier praised Ponder's accuracy, saying he's been working hard at that specifically this offseason. He also said Ponder is maturing as a passer and is beginning to become more vocal in the huddle and in the locker room. "His football above the neck h...
QB Jeff George is back baby... for a minute at least. He's been invited to Vikings OTA'a this week as a "guest coach." Apparently, George is debating if he wants to get into the coaching business and will be mentoring QB Christian Ponder and other young players. “We told our players just to be able to pick his brain, our quarterbacks, and talk with him about some of the things he saw as a young quarterback and what he saw as a veteran and just his maturation over the course of his career," Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said. I can hear it now... Okay guys... Give Adrian Peterson the ball and everyone block for him!

Brian Urlacher has been connected with the Minnesota Vikings because of their need at middle linebacker. However, coach Leslie Frazier says they plan to fill that void with in-house candidates.
Broncos & Vikings Not Interested In MLB Brian Urlacher by Nate Bouda Update: Mike Klis reports that the Broncos do not have interest in free agent LB Brian Urlacher, despite the previous report. Meanwhile, Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier has confirmed that the team has no plans to sign Urlacher despite what appears to be a need at middle linebacker. “Brian has been a great player in our league for a long, long time,” Frazier said, via NFL.com. “He was a thorn in our side for many years. At this point we want to look at the guys on our roster, give them a chance to compete for the middle linebacker position then we’ll see where it takes us.“ It appears as though Urlacher’s camp has been leaking information to the media with hope of generating some interest. Players such Charles Woodson and Josh Cribbs have found some opportunities in recent days, despite the fact that OTAs are already underway. We’ll have to see if anything changes in the next few days, but as of now, things don’t look v ...

Yes. Leslie Frazier is the perfect coach for Manti He will be fine. He will have to improve from Alabama game obviously.
Good riddance, Percy! I love him when he plays. WHEN he plays. If he can't get along with Leslie Frazier, the nicest coach in the NFL, then HE'S the problem. I understand Childress, he WAS an *** Sign Mike Wallace, draft Tavon Austin, and all will be forgotten. Plus, we'd still have another 1st round pick to go.
Report: The Kansas City Chiefs will most likely drop quarterback Matt Cassel, now that Alex Smith is taking over as there starter. Once Cassel is released, The Vikings are a very possible landing spot for him. Although head coach Leslie Frazier has maintained that Christian Ponder is his quarterback, the Vikings are on the lookout for a veteran to "teach" and "push" the young starter. Do you guys want Cassel as our No. 2 QB?

Leslie Frazier may be irked by his contract situation, but he won't say so publicly.
Whatever friction has existed between Vikings coach Leslie Frazier and top receiver Percy Harvin didn't stop Frazier from delivering a clear message when the two last spoke.
One year ago, Vikings coach Leslie Frazier revealed multitalented reserve Joe Webb would be moving to quarterback on a full-time basis. The culmination of that experiment was a playoff flop. But GM Rick Spielman said on Thursday his plans at the posi
The Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday exercised the fourth-year contract option on coach Leslie Frazier. The move helps Frazier avoid what would have been a lame-duck season in 2013 while also giving the team some flexibility going forward. "Coach Frazier has done a remarkable job in building a strong foundation for the Minnesota Vikings and creating a very positive future," Vikings owner Mark Wilf said in a statement issued by the team. "We value his leadership and look forward to working with him for many years to come." Frazier was entering the final year of his deal, and talk about his contract started to become an issue publicly as the Vikings mounted a stunning December run to the playoffs. Stuck at 6-6 and without injured receiver Percy Harvin, the Vikings rode Adrian Peterson to four straight victories, including a thriller over Green Bay in the regular-season finale to thrust them into the postseason. They lost to the Packers the next week in the wild-card round. In deciding to exercise the option r ...
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that Christian Ponder will not face competition for his starting job in 2013 camp. Mortensen recently spoke to Frazier, who said Ponder is locked in for 2013. "Leslie Frazier said, 'Go look at his games in December,'" Mort relayed. "There were a couple of games in December where they saw the Christian Ponder they drafted. ... They really believe Ponder will continue to get better. He is the starter going into the season. They expect nothing to change that. No competition." The Vikings will try to upgrade on backup Joe Webb, but it now seems doubtful that they'd seriously pursue Matt Moore, who is free agency's top quarterback.

Vikings and coach Leslie Frazier agree on multi-year contract extension
Leslie Frazier's long-awaited contract extension finally is a done deal. The Associated Press reported on Wednesday that Frazier has agreed to a multi-year extension, citing sources.
From my friends at DraftSharks.com (just to get you thinking about the upcoming season)... Vikings WR Percy Harvin is already blowing up the newswire this offseason. A report surfaced this past weekend that Minnesota was looking to trade him after he and HC Leslie Frazier had a "blowup" towards the end of the season. Then on Monday we learned that Harvin is planning to hold out of all offseason activities until he gets a new contract. He's set to make "just" $2.9 million in 2013 -- the final year of his rookie deal. That only adds fuel to the trade rumor fire. Harvin would bring back quite a haul in a deal. He's still only 24 years old and has averaged 74 total yards per game over his first 4 NFL seasons. But losing him would also leave the Vikings dangerously weak at WR. An extended holdout wouldn't be good news for his 2013 fantasy value. A trade could help it. The Jaguars will switch from a power-blocking run scheme to a zone-blocking attack under new OC Jedd Fisch. We don't like the news for RB Mauric ...
Calm down, everyone. The latest buzz in Minnesota is the Harvin article posted on Saturday by Mike Max of WCCO. According to the report, prior to being placed on the DL, receiver Percy Harvin had a tirade with coach Leslie Frazier with teammates present. OK, but this report sounds awfully familiar.…
Sources tell WCCO's Mike Max that the No. 1 reason Percy Harvin left the team this season was not his injury, but it was motivated by a blowup he had with Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier.

Leslie Frazier has yet to be rewarded with a contract extension after the Vikings playoff appearance.
What a year for my Vikings despite losing in round 1 of the playoffs. Adrian Peterson 2,097 rushing yards potential MVP. 10-6 TEAM RECORD and defeated the 49ers during the reg season. 49ers potential world champs. VIKINGS were projected to finish last in the tough NFC NORTH. Kyle Rudolph the MVP Of the Pro Bowl. Give Leslie Frazier a new contract and Christian Ponder will improve. All of this without Percy Harvin for most of the year.
To be fair to Raymond Berry's bunch they ran into that vaunted '85 Bears Defense. Last game ever for Leslie Frazier as a player.
- Harvin has vowed to smoke more weed and have more temper tantrums - Phil Loadholt, if resigned, promised he WILL eat the lowest drafted rookie in 2013 - Christian Ponder said he'll stop this whole marriage thing and go back to being a bachelor, and playing shirtless - Leslie Frazier promised to take a hat tip, resign from his position to become defensive coordinator, and hire anyone else as head coach but Brad - John David Booty promised to come back to Minneapolis to do something, but he forgot what it was, was pretty sure it had to do with Funyons though, and maybe hanging out at the Russian Art Museum before heading to Ely during the cold to hunt Sasquatches, but he's not sure. In other words? Super Bowl in 2013 or bust.
it's been around for like 10 years. It ain't new, that rule has helped alot bro, helped out Leslie Frazier, Mike Tomlin...
I am disappointed with the hiring practices of the NFL during this off season. Seven Head Coaches and Five General Managers positions was available. Out of the Head Coaches, two of the positions was held by African American and one GM was held by African American. Now that all Seven Head Coaches have been filled, No minority coaches was hired. With the GM position, No minority personnel was hired. Out of 32 NFL teams, only 4 minority coaches (Mike Tomlin, Leslie Frazier, Marvin Lewis and Ron Rivera) I have a dream that one day. more minority coaches will be given a chance.
What was Frazier's job with you in Indy? I know you were head coach, but what was Leslie Frazier?
Who will get more votes for coach of the year: Pete Carrol or Leslie Frazier?
Leslie Frazier doesn't see what is wrong with that!
Terrible back-to-back play calls for the Seahawks. Very Leslie Frazier-esque. "Don't use the guy they expect you to use! Yeah, that's it!"

I want Alex smith as a Viking! Ponder can be second string. Leslie Frazier should take him!
Hey Leslie Frazier, write that play down. Thanks.
Leslie Frazier knows his performance won't be judged based on preseason results, right?
Monte Kiffin, really??? I know he was good at Tampa but that's just because he had Tony Dungy, Mile Tomlin, Rob Mirranelli, Herm Edwards, Leslie Frazier, Lovie Smith coaching along side with. Oh btw Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks and John Lynch were pretty good for those teams. Very interesting hiring by the Cowboys.
Minnesota Vikings: Leslie Frazier ready to tweak team for next season
my point is Leslie Frazier has said time and again that the organization will put their faith in ponder no questions asked
I have zero problems with replacing Leslie Frazier with the cast of Frasier for the 2nd half.
that rule has no credibility or integrity any more. For every Mike Tomlin, there's a Leslie Frazier who was the token blk guy...

I hope you're satisfied, MIN. Your 1 week trip to the playoffs cost me my job and secured Leslie Frazier's. Enjoy Joe Webb tonight.
Leslie Frazier was not even cons by Jerry Jones. Frazier runs a Tampa 2, and he was in the playoffs, wonder if Jerry feels stupid? again?

Vikes' Frazier not concerned with contract status
Leslie Frazier says Percy Harvin is expected to return as a Viking next season. If he doesn't return, what team do you want to see him end up with and not end up with?

Many felt Leslie Frazier would have a better game plan coming into that game against the Seahawks.
lol sorry I just had 1 of the worst brain farts of my life lol..I was looking at a picture of leslie frazier when i wrote that lol
Leslie Frazier: "We got a taste of what it's like in the playoffs and our guys are hungry to come back and complete the mission"
Four dashed-off thoughts about Leslie Frazier declaring Ponder to be next year’s starter: 1. We’re only three days into the postseason. A lot can change between now and training camp. 2. Elite NFL teams almost always have an elite quarterback. NE, Den, NO, GB. If Min wants to be elite, they have to do better than Ponder. 3. Declaring him the starter doesn’t necessarily rule out getting someone on roster to compete with him. 4. At a bare minimum, the team needs a much better backup plan at the position.
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier left no room for interpretation when asked about Christian Ponder's status for 2013.
RGIII torn ACL & PCL out at least 14-18 months.. This is shaping up to be an episode of 30/30. SMDH! I honestly don't blame a young athlete that wants to WIN! I blame the coach and the organization ... James Andrews DIDN'T CLEAR him and he's the DOCTOR!!! Mike Shanahan you gonna ride your prize horse right on into the stable huh? Leslie Frazier didn't play Christian Ponder because he knew that jeopardizing that boy's career was worth more than a playoff game. SMDH!
So listening to all the should've could've would've's about RGIII.So lets go to the tape.Mike Rizzo shuts down Strausburg to protect him from injury and gets crucified. Jay Cutler doesnt play in the playoffs 2 years ago because of a sprained knee and gets crucified. Leslie Frazier doesn't play Christian Ponder because of sprained elbow and the Vikes get bounced. Whats the common demoninator here..."They all lost in the playoffs" Despite RGIII's injury the Skins were still winning going into the 4th quarter. Shanny had faith he could make a play and potentially close out the game...But I agree he should have come out to preserve him from further injury and to potentially preserve the lead.
Leslie Frazier said he was resting Christian Ponder for next weekend. I assume he'll be serving at Leslie's playoff watching party.
