The reviews for HARMONY are in! Check out the quotes: LA TIMES The score by Manilow and Sussman doesn’t disappoint. An enormous amount of love has gone into Harmony. Filled with memorable singing. The score has an intriguing beauty that serves to remind us that the man who made famous “I Write The Songs” has reason to boast. LA EXAMINER: Brilliant New Musical Harmony captures an important story in music history. Five stars! This is a memorable and emotional musical indeed. A definite “must see” winner! Someone should hit the rewind button so I could sit back down and watch it all over again. VARIETY: Graceful, catchy melodies. Extraordinary set of young kids who own that stage with vivacity, panache and terrific pipes. ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER A heartfelt musical! BROADWAY WORLD: Beautifully produced and mounted, exceedingly well performed and a thoroughly moving story. The story is as engrossing and riveting as any good Broadway show should be with some wonderfully original music. -

Priceless! The following is worth a moment of your time to ponder. During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, the U.S. produced... 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 34 million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers, 24,000 transport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks, 257,000 artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks. We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services, invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany. It's worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama administration couldn't build a functioning web site. * Quote of ...

Stanley Kubrick's Daughter Releases Endearing Behind-The-Scenes Photos: Legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick's daughter, Vivian, is an inspiring visionary in her own right. A composer, a director, and overall creative guru, she's been quietly active in cinema since her adolescence. Understandably, her early achievements are linked to her father's most iconic moments. A behind-the-scenes documentary of The Shining she directed aired on BBC before she was even 20. Later, she even created the score for 1987's Full Metal Jacket under the pseudonym Angela Meade (smartly played on her part.) Decades later, Ms. Kubrick is now taking to social media to share previously unseen photos of what went on behind some of her dad's legendary sets. They certainly bring a new playful context to some heavy-hitting cinema. There's eyebrow-raising moments (little Vivian on the set of A Clockwork Orange) as well as endearing ones (bonding with the chimp from 2001: A Space Odyssey.) You can check out the full spectrum of snapshot ...

LA Times Quote of the day - priceless Quote of the day by Dianne Feinstein. Dianne Feinstein: "All vets are mentally ill in some way and government should prevent them from owning firearms." Yep, - she really said it on Thursday in a meeting in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee... and the quote below from the LA Times is priceless. Sometimes even the L.A. Times gets it right. Kurt Nimmo: "Senator Feinstein insults all U.S. Veterans as she flays about in a vain attempt to save her anti-firearms bill." Quote of the Day from the Los Angeles Times: "Frankly, I don't know what it is about California, but we seem to have a strange urge to elect really obnoxious women to high office. I'm not bragging, you understand, but no other state, including Maine, even comes close. When it comes to sending left-wing dingbats to Washington, we're Number One. Quite a story. Family Members Hold Out Hope Families of passengers aboard the missing flight have not given up hope that their loved ones will be found safe. Some believe that the new prevailing theory that plane was deliberately taken off course may mean the landed landed safely somewhere. "My gut feeling is that it landed. I still feel his spirit. I don’t feel he is dead," Sarah Bajc, the partner of one of the missing passengers, told the LA Times. Officials, however, believe that the plane most likely crashed somewhere in the Indian Ocean.

I found this article in the LA Times .I am shocked at what I just read One of our current city council members is Involved !!! "Where there is smoke there is Fire " Eighteen civilian firefighters barred from working at an Air Force plant in Palmdale for allegedly using drugs and alcohol on the job have won a 45-month fight to regain their security clearances so they can return to work, their attorney said Wednesday. Attorney Dan Stormer, who represented 25 of 31 employees who were barred in August, 1983, said a Department of Defense hearing examiner has ruled that the charges were unfounded and concluded that it is "consistent with the national interest" to approve security clearances for the 18. Stormer told reporters that he has notified the Production Flight Test Installation at Air Force Plant 42 that those who were cleared by examiner Jerry Muskrat on May 20 plan to return to work immediately. And, he said, the seven who did not win back their security clearances plan to appeal Muskrat's finding tha ...

Check this out. Why do we treat Isreal differently than we treat other nations? Israel in 1968 & 2014: The Jews Are Alone Posted By Ronn Torossian On February 11, 2014 @ 12:15 am In Daily Mailer,FrontPage | 11 Comments In 1968, a longshoreman named Eric Hoffer wrote an amazing op-ed in the LA Times, which is as relevant today as it was then. He was a non-Jewish American social philosopher who wrote newspaper columns, as well as books. He died in 1983, after writing nine books and winning the Presidential Medal of Freedom. His first book, The True Believer, published in 1951, is widely recognized as a classic. Eric Hoffer was one of the most influential American philosophers and free thinkers of the 20th Century. Acclaimed for his thoughts on fanaticism, Hoffer’s LA Times column from May 26, 1968 is worth rereading. Entitled “Israel’s peculiar position,” he said: The Jews are a peculiar people: things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews. Other nations drive out thousands, even mi . ...

The San Andreas Fault Shows Signs of Awakening is used to minor earthquakes. Sitting atop a myriad of fault lines, both minor and major, earthquakes are away of life. Most of them are un-noticed as they are too small to feel. But over the last ten days, California has had a series of quakes of magnitude 3.0 or above on the Richter scale. The LA Times records three such incidents. Another has been reported by the USGS today. California sits in an area that is geologically very active. Plate margins grind against each other causing the tremors. The San Andreas Fault is a huge gash in the landscape that runs from Cape Mendocino down to the Mexican border. It’s a transform, or slide fault. The leading edge of the North American Plate and the Pacific plate slide past each other. They move in small fits and starts but on occasion get stuck. The pressure builds and builds, until whatever prominence of rock holding them in position gives way, and the plates move causing an earthquake. More

An active Republican, she ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 1967. Two years later, she was appointed the U.S. delegate to the United Nations by President Nixon. An iPhone 5S with the app sold for $10,100. EVER WONDER HOW THE PRICES GO UP QUICKLY WITH THE "GAS PRICE", FOR INSTANCE, BUT TO COME DOWN CONSUMERS HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE EARNINGS TO TRICKLE DOWN? LA Times reports: Global airline industry expects record profits in 2014, but they have interesting ways to keep the prices up... The Geneva-based International Air Transport Assn. predicted that the world's airlines will take in a combined $19.7 billion in profits this year, surpassing the previous high of $19.2 billion in 2010. That's great news if you're an airline executive or shareholder. But don't expect the suddenly well-off airlines to pass along their good fortune to passengers by slashing fares. ... airlines probably will invest more of their profits in roomier seats, better entertainment systems and tastier food. That would enable them to offer pricier seats and extras for fliers ready to move up from the economy section. "It's a way of extracting more money" ... Found this LA Times Article from 1990…. Tell me witch way Mariachi Has Evolved? There's a lot to be done yet with mariachi music," explains Hernandez. "Others say it's not mariachi if you do pop songs, but I don't agree. There's a younger crowd out there for our music now, and they want to hear younger music." For Hernandez, "younger music" might mean anything from singing Paul McCartney's "Yesterday" in English to rapping in Spanish--all with mariachi accompaniment. A few weeks ago, his group did a fund-raiser with the accompaniment of a 35-piece orchestra, and they have performed with Ronstadt and Willie Nelson. "Mariachi can adapt to classical," says Hernandez. "It can adapt to pop or to jazz. It can adapt to any kind of music." Hernandez feels that traditional mariachi, as well, can be improved by a more "contemporary" approach. "When we do traditional songs," he explains, "I like to dress them up. I feel that when people hear the same songs played over and over again in the same arrangements, they ...

From Marla Turner: Funny for the day, courtesy of DH: A Spanish teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine. 'House' for instance, is feminine: 'la casa.' 'Pencil,' however, is masculine: 'el lapiz.' A student asked, "What gender is 'computer'?" Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether 'computer' should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation. The men's group decided that 'computer' should definitely be of the feminine gender ('la computadora'), because: 1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic; 2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else; 3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and 4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself ...

Dying in a subordinate clause It’s 198 years since Waterloo. No one can forget the first time they read Vanity Fair and get to the end of Chapter XXXII: ‘…It came at last: the columns of the Imperial Guard marched up the hill of Saint Jean, at length and at once to sweep the English from the height which they had maintained all day, and spite of all: unscared by the thunder of the artillery, which hurled death from the English line -- the dark rolling column pressed on and up the hill. It seemed almost to crest the eminence, when it began to wave and falter. Then it stopped, still facing the shot. Then at last the English troops rushed from the post from which no enemy had been able to dislodge them, and the Guard turned and fled. No more firing was heard at Brussels -- the pursuit rolled miles away. Darkness came down on the field and city: and Amelia was praying for George, who was lying on his face, dead, with a bullet through his heart.’ George is swept into non-existence without even the dign ...
LDAF Release: Baton Rouge, LA (June 18, 2013) – Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) wildland firefighters are on the scene of a gas line explosion in Washington Parish. It happened around 5:20 Tuesday morning. “Our firefighters were called to assist because the fire happened in a wooded area with acres of land at risk,” said LDAF Commissioner Mike Strain, D.V.M. Four firefighters are on stand-by with two bulldozers and a pumper truck to help contain the fire in the event it gets out of control or another gas line erupts. At this time, the fire is contained. LDAF firefighters on the scene say there were approximately 100 foot flames shooting out of the pipe at one point and could be seen from miles away. “We also have a forestry plane in the air at this time monitoring the situation from above. This allows us to view the entire area and watch for the possibility of spot fires,” said Strain.
This NSA hearing is making me sick. Someone had the audacity to bring up the founding fathers and say they created a "system of checks and balances," to insinuate that this program follows those principles. Yeah, the founders did create checks and balances and it was to prevent things like this from ever happening in America. It's absolutely disheartening and infuriating.
Well... It was very brief, but lovely to connect with someone in such an unexpected way. He has gone back to Pittsburgh and, today I feel a little sadness. Did you know that Michael Jackson was a lecturer? :-) (Well I didn't know too). Here's a lecture he gave at Oxford university entitled Heal the children of the world. It is quite a long so I've extracted bits & pieces from the entire speech, but I think it a lonely read to end off your. You google the full speech if you please. *it is long but please try to finish* I am humbled to be lecturing in a place that has previously been filled by such notable figures as Mother Theresa, Albert Einstein, Ronald Reagan, Robert Kennedy and Malcolm X. I've even heard that Kermit the Frog has made an appearance here, and I've always felt a kinship with Kermit's message that it's not easy being green. I'm sure he didn't find it any easier being up here than I do! I suppose I should start by listing my qualifications to speak before you this evening. Friends, I do not claim to have the academic expertise of other speakers who have addressed this hall, just as they could lay little claim at being adept at the moonwalk - a ...
Tuesday at New World Coffee & Tea House. Once upon a time there was a sandwich. He was a sad sandwich because someone made him with some sort of weird processed cheese type food substance made with things that only a chemist could pronounce. One day the sad sandwich found his way to New World. The Chef looked at him and thought... What a sad sandwich. I bet even some really good soup couldn't fix him. The Chef said to him, "How would you like to be re-born as a good sandwich made with real Kraft Cheddar and some super good mozzarella inside and out of Lac La Hache brown bread and some amazing tomato soup?" The sad sandwich pulled out a gun and shot his gooey cheese all over the wall so he could be re-born as something edible. Today's special is $11.99 with side salad or small soup. Come in and experience a happy sandwich and watch the cleaning crew clean up the mess. .

(June 18, 2013) Mexico’s active Popocatepetl Volcano has registered a massive explosion spewing ash and incandescent rock almost 4 kilometers high. Authorities have warned that winds could blow the ash cloud as far away as Mexico City. Inhabitants of villages up to 25 kilometers from Popocatepetl (colloquially known as ‘Don Popo’) rushed out of their houses when the massive explosion reverberated through their homes. Esther Matinez, resident of Amecameca municipality, told Mexican publication La Jornada that the blast was like a rocket explosion. Around 4.5 million people live within a 50-kilometer radius of the active volcano, 650,000 of whom are considered to be at high risk. According to authorities in the state of Puebla, where the second-tallest volcano in Mexico is located, the incandescent fragments released in the blast fell as far as 2 kilometers from the crater. Director of Puebla’s Civil Protection department Jesus Morales said that burning rocks sparked small fires around the volcano. ...

“Can’t I just keep pretending I’m your son?” “You are my son.”   When the existence of “Man of Steel” was first publicized over a year ago, the next words on every interested party’s lips were almost invariably “Christopher Nolan”. Flush from the success of “Inception” and, especially, “The Dark Knight” Trilogy, Nolan was Hollywood’s new master of the big budget blockbuster. If anyone could successfully reboot the long dormant “Superman” franchise for the Comic Book-obsessed 21st Century, the reasoning went, surely it would be him. Suddenly a darker, grittier, more “realistic” Superman awaited us, if we were ready, its quality and resonance all but guaranteed by Nolan’s stewardship. I found it an exciting proposition, subtly at first but then reinforced by a seemingly endless parade of teaser trailers these past few months.   That “Man of Steel” is, indeed, a successful reboot probably does have a decent bit to do with Nolan, who produced and contributed to ...

Each new day brings the opportunity to pick myself up and move ahead. It is a God given fresh start, and a clean slate. The past is history. Nothing that happened yesterday is so bad that I can't leave it behind. Today, I will look to what is ahead of me. Although, I don't want to look too far out into the distant future. This new day and the next few hours are all that matter now. I choose to live my life one day at a time. No pressures, No big expectations, and No harbored regrets Because what will be, will always be. “Un Dia La Vez, Que Sera Sera”
A new giant vaccine scandal exposes government lies and psyops by Jon Rappoport June 15, 2013 If you control the use of words and numbers, you can make trillions of dollars, and you can hide scandals that would otherwise take you down into infamy and prison. You can pretty much operate a whole sector of society and remain untouched. Nowhere is this more clear than in the criminal work of the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The real name of that agency should be: Centers for Disease Information Control. That's what they do. They manipulate words and numbers to present fictional images to the public. They're a tax-funded PR front for the medical cartel. A 24/7 psyop. "Yes, of course I'm a criminal. I work for the CDC." Here is the latest blockbuster. After writing about fake vaccine science since 1988, I thought I'd seen it all: Wild falsehoods about vaccines creating immunity; suppressed information about toxic ingredients in the shots; the absence of proper controlled studies ...
I was just reading a post of a client / friend of mine - and some people were talking about show photographers. They said "they just don't care". I'd like to hear from you - do you feel that the show photographers don't care about you or your photograph? The hard work and money you have put into your training / breeding / showing / grooming / traveling / entry fees to participate in the shows? PLEASE don't mention names (this is not a witch hunt) - would just like to hear what you have to say.

I've packed up my office, handed in my badge, and waved farewell to Redmond. I'm honored to have had a hand in shaping the future of entertainment with Microsoft for the past three years, and doubly honored to have worked with some of the finest mad geniuses I've ever known, but now that at least a small portion of the stuff I worked on or influenced has been unveiled and is on its way to market (the Xbox One, Smartglass, Quantum Break, Adera, Ryse, Halo, et cetera), it's time for a new challenge. As always, the greatest question of all is, "What's Next?" :)

TINUBU RECEIVES SHOCKER IN DUBAI AS ADEYEMI ASKS HIM 'WHY SERVE BUHARI'? leader of the ACN and former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu got the shocker of his life after he was publicly humiliated by Kogi Senator and former President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Senator Smart Adeyemi who asked him at a party in Dubai why he would serve a man who truncated democracy! Tinubu was stunned at the effrontery of Adeyemi as was the audience. Tinubu, along with controversial former minister of the Federal Capital Teritorry, Nasir Elrufai, immediately left the hall after the incident apparently angered that Adeyemi put Tinubu on the spot. A large number of the who is who in the Nigerian socio-political and economic strata had stormed the City of Dubai in the UAE for the society wedding of the son of oil mogul, Chief Jide Omokore, Tosin and his heartthrob, Faisal, daughter of Ambassador Azeez Musa. There were no fewer than 20 senators on hand, including Senate spokesman, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe ...

On June 18, 1966, Them, who's lead singer was Van Morrison were playing there last night of their stint at The Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip in LA. The opening act for that period was a relatively new band called The Doors. On that night Them had The Doors appeared onstage with them. The two bands combined to play an extended 25-minute version of Wilson Pickett's 'In The Midnight Hour' and a 20-minute version of 'Gloria'. The Doors guitarist, Robby Krieger had this to say about Van Morrison: "It's funny because we never knew Van Morrison or what he was like until he came to the Whisky, and there he was stomping around, throwing the mike just like Jim would. You think of him later more as doing nice songs and stuff, but in the early Whisky days he was a terror. I mean you'd be afraid to come anywhere near the stage. He was drunk as *** throwing the mike around, screaming and railing and stuff. He had some real devils inside." The picture is of The Whisky about this time. You will see on the marquee .. ...

Upbeat Eagles arrive in Salvador . Maigari charges team to increase tempo for Uruguay African champions Nigeria, in upbeat mood, arrived in Salvador, north-eastern Brazil Tuesday afternoon ahead of their much-hyped clash with South American champions Uruguay on Thursday. The Eagles are majestically perched at the top of Group B of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup following a 6-1 trouncing of Tahiti in Belo Horizonte on Monday evening. Spain’s Furia Roja (Red Fury) who edged Uruguay 2-1 in the first match of the pool on Sunday night, are second behind the African champions on goals difference. While the Spaniards will look to pile up the goals against Tahiti on Thursday, the Eagles have confidence they can overpower Oscar Tabarez’La Celeste and earn a semi final ticket ahead of their final group phase tango with world champions Spain in Fortaleza on Sunday. NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, understandably elated by the team’s goal-rious performance against the Oceanians on Monday, has charged the ...

So the BATTLE begins today CHEMO this afternoon.surreal but real. I am officially in the Cancer Club with Acute Myeloid Leukemia they put a central line from mid-bicep on my right arm that feeds through a vein to my heart. That line will pump the go-go juice (Chemo drugs) into my heart to kill off all of the bad cells and a lot of good cells too so I have to be careful about infections, cuts and bruises and exposure to things that normally are no problem. Amazing to me how life can turn on a dime and throw you into a whole new world and experience in a moment. The goal of this Odyssey is to get into another club. The Cancer Survivors Club. Until this happened I had no idea how many of you Survivors are out there (as well as people with first hand experience).
