Hlompho Kekane unleashed a *** with a right foot shot after receiving a pass out of the area box from Teko Modise. The score is not the true reflection of the game. It could have gone ugly, Billiat missed close to 5 scoring chances. Kermit Erasmus shot hit the post in the 95th minute. Credit to Nthete and Schut for protecting their goalkeeper for the entire game. Orlando Pirates 0-1 Sundowns
Striker, Lennox Bacela -“When you join a team like Pirates, you know that competition is something that will be there and it’s going to be strong. If you are a strong player mentally, it builds you. "You need to know that when playing for a big team like Pirates, no matter how many goals you’ve scored, the club is still going to go out and buy players during the transfer window. It’s something that you have to prepare yourself for mentally. Just wait for your chance, and when it comes, do the business.” Pelembe signed for Bucs after a period of assessment under previous coach Roger De Sa and has been impressive so far, with his off-the-ball runs, positioning and eye for goal. His arrival is seen as a threat to Bacela’s chances of getting game time. Pirates go into a massive league encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns on the weekend, and Eric Tinkler looks likely to start with Pelembe and Kermit Erasmus, who provided the goals in Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Wits.
Stand-in manager Eric Tinkler has praised a resilient Orlando Pirates outfit for their 2-1 Premiership win over Wits in Soweto. Tinkler was appointed caretaker coach on Friday after the resignation of Roger De Sa, who cited personal reasons for leaving the position he has held since September 2012. “I called the technical team in to explain what had happened and we discussed that we needed to get the team to support us,” Tinkler said last night after the game at the Orlando Stadium. “The boys showed great character in the second half. We had a tough week with the coach leaving, but the boys responded superbly.” Sibusiso Vilakazi opened the scoring for the visiting Clever Boys after 20 minutes, but saw the lead disappear shortly after the half-time break, thanks to Helder Pelembe’s first goal as a Buccaneer 10 minutes after the interval. Kermit Erasmus then came on from the bench and grabbed Pirates’ second goal as the Sowetans completed their comeback and handed the team three valuable points. ...

AmaZulu, Pirates share the spoils. Orlando Pirates dominated proceedings, but could only emerge with a 1-1 draw against AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Thursday night. After an exciring but goalless first half, Ayanda Gcaba gave the Buccaneers the lead on 56 minutes, but Kulegani Madondo cancelled out the effort shortly afterwards. The Buccaneers dominated possession and chances and will count themselves unlucky not have taken the three points, though Usuthu will point to a shot which hit the upright in the first half.It was all Pirates in the early exchanges, with them having three shots at goal in the opening 10 minutes. Lucky Lekgwathi should have done better with a six-yard header from a corner-kick, before Andile Jali blasted way over after being played in by Kermit Erasmus. Khethokwakhe Masuku then fired a powerful shot from 25 yards wide before AmaZulu finally got a sniff of goal when a quick free-kick played Bongani Ndulula in, but a defender just got a foot on the ball before Senzo Meyiwa clea ...
AmaZulu, Pirates share spoils AmaZulu and Orlando Pirates settled for a share of the spoils when they played to a 1-1 draw in an Absa Premiership encounter at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Thursday night. Ayanda Gcaba opened the scoring for the visitors midway through the second half but Carlington Nyadombo, who captained Usuthu on the night, netted the equaliser a few minutes later. The first chance fell for the visitors in the fourth minute when Khethokwakhe Masukus corner found Lucky Lekgwathi free at the far post, but the skipper directed his header wide. The Buccaneers continued to miss the target with Andile Jali firing wide in the eighth minute, while Masuku also sent his long range effort to the wrong side of the post a minute later. Thandani Ntshumayelo made a good run to meet a cross from Kermit Erasmus in the 13th minute, but the diminutive midfielder failed to keep his header down. Senzo Meyiwa was then forced to make a save at his near post two minutes later to keep out a low effort from Goodm ...
AmaZulu 1-1 Pirates: Bucs drop more points Roger De Sa's domestic record is under the microscope after a draw with Usuthu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Thursday night Pirates started the match very well with Bucs winger Khethokwakhe Masuku's cross from the left was headed wide by club captain Lucky Lekgwathi in the fifth minute. Two minutes later, Bucs striker Kermit Erasmus played a beautiful through ball to Andile Jali, but he skied his attempt at goal. Another chance came Bucs' way in the 10th minute, this time a long-range one as Masuku fizzed a 25-yard effort which went wide off Amazulu goalkeeper Aubrey Mathibe's goal post. Amazulu had the first shot on target when striker Goodman Dlamini came close after Bucs defender Thabo Matlaba was pushed off the ball in the 15th minute. However, Dlamini's attempt was easily saved by Bucs keeper Senzo Meyiwa in the end as he dived low to his left. Usuthu were slowly coming into the match. Striker Dlamini's strike hit the upright with a well taken sh ...

Head coach, Roger De Sa -“What we’ve been asking for is a striker and a central defender, because of the number of injuries we’ve had [in defence] – that’s been our request at the club for possibly 12 months. He [Majoro] is a goalscorer, but so was Kermit Erasmus when we brought him into the team. “So that’s what we are looking for and that’s what we needed. We have always felt that way. Look, it is out of our hands. It is something that’s being dealt with at management level and we got to wait to see what happens.” Majoro watched from the stands as Pirates lost 2-1 to Supersport United on Saturday at Orlando Stadium. Bucs have also signed Helder Pelembe, Lwazi Skosana and Ntsikelelo Nyauza, who is earmarked for a role in central defence.
Bafana Bafana without Kermit Erasmus,Aupa Manyesa,Thabo Matlaba,Andile Jali,Siabonga Sangwene and Daine Klate is nothing, where can it go!
How come Orlando Pirates lost a game despite dominanting ball possession and creating more goalscoring chances? Three key tactical mistakes observed in the game against Supersport United. 1. Creating avalanches of chances but failed to convert them into goals. Orlando Pirates created avalanches of goals scoring opportunities in the first half but poor finishing let the team down. Kermit Erasmus was a culprit of missing clear cut opportunities and his best moment was hitting a cross bar in the first half but had a dull second half. 2. Poor communication and organisational skills by defensive pair of Lucky Lekgwathi and Ayanda Ngcaba especial on aerial balls. Orlando Pirates defenders were caught off guard by counter attacks of Supersport United especial Happy Jele and Thabo Matlaba who failed to track back on time. They spent a lot of time making offensive moves without adequate cover at the back whilst the Captain Lucky Lekgwathi and Ayanda Ngcaba combinatiom is too disastrous due to lack of communication ...
Pirates 1-2 SuperSport: United gain initiative over Bucs Orlando Pirates may have games in hand, but are not catching up with the pace-setters, dropping three points against Supersport United at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon Bucs were aiming to make it into the top eight for the first time this season, when they faced Matsatsantsa but it wasn't to be. The early stages of the match were dominated by Pirates as they pressurized SuperSport defence, forcing three corner-kicks in the first 10 minutes. However, they failed to utilize them. In the 19th minute, Bucs continued to pile on the pressure on the Matsatsantsa backline with striker Kermit Erasmus deciding to shoot instead of passing the ball to unmarked Oupa Manyisa inside the box, but Erasmus' tame shot went wide of the mark. Pirates winger Sifiso Myeni found himself unmarked inside the box in the 22nd minute, his powerful shot was well saved by SuperSport goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, who conceded another corner-kick in the process. A period ...
Though I am not a Pirates fan, but I have to say it " Kermit Erasmus & Oupa Manyisa are still my favorite Players!
Great squad, I see Oupa Manyisa playing the number 10 role behind Kermit Erasmus.
Bafana are really missing the Orlando Pirates players mainly : Oupa Manyisa, Kermit Erasmus and Thabo Matlaba, we need more creativity
2nd friendly over with Orlando Pirates winning 2-1 against Polokwane City, goals from Daine Klate and Kermit Erasmus and that makes it 2 wins out of 2 games so far. Third game starting at 15h00 against United FC to hopefully make it 3 out of 3 and take that winning mentality to the upcoming league games.

Orlando Pirates have emerged as surprise contenders for the signature of Zimbabwe striker Nyasha Mushekwi. Mushekwi is currently on loan at Belgian top-flight side KV Oostende for the remainder of this season, but has managed just two goals in 15 league appearances. It is unclear whether the Belgian side will take up their option to sign him permanently at the end of the season, but according to reports in Zimbabwe, Pirates are ready to step in. Whether Sundowns would be willing to sell to one of their major title rivals is another question, and with the likely signing of Lehlohonolo Majoro on a free transfer from Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the current campaign, questions will be raised as to whether they need him at all. The side already has top strikers Kermit Erasmus, Lennox Bacela and Collins Mbesuma on their books.

After Pirates indicated they won't renew the contract of striker Thulasizwe "Juju" Mbuyane it has emerged that big spenders Mamelodi Sundowns are jumping in The former Free State Stars player had done very well against the Brazilians and it won't come as a surprise that they now want to sign him. A source very close to Sundowns confided in Goal about how their scouts are reporting back with regard to Mbuyane. "I think it is just a matter of starting the talks, as far as Sundowns are concerned they are interested in Mbuyane. His name has come up on different occasions in the technical meetings and it seems they want to get him during this coming window. He is a good player that they think they can use," the source told Goal. Mbuyane has recently not played much in Roger De Sa's side, but he did perform well for the club in the past. A move to another team might just be the fresh new start his career needed. At the moment Lennox Bacela, Kermit Erasmus and Collins Mbesuma are getting in ahead of Mbuyane at B ...

While Kaizer Chiefs is still suffering to bring a Big-Name into their Books. Nothing is going according to plans at Orlando Premises. The Board turned to Debate-Arena when Ivin Khoza spilled-Out the Beans that Andile Jali is not yet signed a Pre-Contract with Orlando Pirates. The Board of Directors pressed the Panic Button after inviting Jali's Agent for further developments. The message was clear; "Andile Jali will never sign a Pre-Contract with Orlando Pirates until agreement is reached between the Two Parties. Past Few Months ago, Our Crew questioned Jali regarding his future with Pirates. Jali made it clear that, "He'll dare never earn less than Kermit Erasmus. The Management should Re-Think the Arrangements of the Remunerations. MIXED ZONE REACTION Posted on Thursday, December 19, 2013 - 23:51 Captain Lucky Lekgwathi, goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, midfielder Oupa Manyisa and forward Kermit Erasmus congratulated their teammates on getting maximum points on Thursday night as Bucs edged-out University of Pretoria 1-0 at Orlando Stadium. Manyisa who netted the only goal of the match (which earned Bucs the well-deserved three points) said: “We needed to achieve our objective in that match – we have another tough match against Golden Arrows on Sunday and it was important for us to win here tonight. We want to go into that match with confidence and winning here tonight gives us the belief that we can certainly get a good result against Arrows. “We wanted to secure a home win, our first in the league and I think we have in the last two matches done enough to host Arrows confident enough on getting another three points.” Captain Lekgwathi added: “Ja, we might not have been 100% but we did the job; three points is what we needed and w ...
Buccaneers sneak past Tuks Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates have edged out the University of Pretoria 1-0 in a PSL clash at Orlando Stadium on Thursday evening. The Buccaneers didn’t quite ‘click’ in attack in the same way they did in their 3-0 win at Platinum Stars earlier this week, but a second-half strike from Oupa Manyisa was enough to secure them all three points. Pirates created the first clear sight of goal on 13 minutes, with Kermit Erasmus sending a powerful effort on target that was punched back to him by goalkeeper Washington Arubi, though the striker couldn’t make anything of the second chance. Erasmus had another effort on goal in the 30th minute, getting a header on target from Daine Klate’s cross, but it was an easy save for Arubi. Erasmus, clearly Pirates’ liveliest player in attack, had another snap shot from just inside the penalty area in the dying minutes of the first half, but the ball flashed wide of the far post, leaving the game goalless at the break. Tuks had rarely thr ...

I'm loving what Kermit Erasmus is doing for Pirates and Bafana.
We managed to catch up with Klate, Lekgwathi & Erasmus at full time to get their 1st impressions of Klate: It takes some getting used to. It's very light, much lighter than the last ball we used. Lucky Lekgwathi: For me it was ok, I think my biggest challenge was the pitch. In the 1st half we had to be very careful at the back in our box. Kermit Erasmus: The jury is still out, the more we play with it the sooner we will get used to it. It moves a lot in the air. RDS: We played in patches & looked very scrappy. They are a physical, hard running side. We are happy with the 3 points. RDS: I agree with Sammy, we had a good chance when the ball fell to Oupa, I feel though we should have killed the game off sooner still. RDS: We are looking forward to the break. It's been a crazy 4 months. This is our 24th match I think. RDS: We have the last game on Sunday then prepare for the 23rd January 2014 against AmaZulu away, as things stand. We try keep that level of complacency from creeping in after we score. But at ...

The goalkeeper also went on to be named the SA Sports Star of the Year at the SA Sports Awards Ceremony. De Sa relieved Pirates are off the bottom of PSL log Pirates remained in the relegation zone despite their sweet revenge over Platinum Stars, but De Sa is happy to be off the foot of the PSL log 17 Dec 2013 Following Orlando Pirates’ emphatic win over Platinum Stars on Monday afternoon, coach Roger De Sa congratulated man of the match Kermit Erasmus and the rest of the team. Pirates wrapped up the game inside the opening 33 minutes with three goals, and De Sa admitted that the heat made it difficult for them to maintain the same pace throughout. “Well done to Kermit, the guys played really well in the first half hour or so,” said De Sa after the game. “After that I think the heat took a lot out of the players and the pace of the game dropped, and we just had to see out the game,” he said. The 49-year-old De Sa expressed his delight at climbing the log as the Buccaneers now find themselves 15th on the log, but he wants his players to keep working hard especially with the games coming thick and fa ...
Orlando Pirates returned to form with a commanding 3-0 victory over Platinum Stars in their Absa Premiership clash at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace on Monday. The Buccaneers made a fast start to stun the home team, as goals inside the first 32 minutes from Thandani Ntshumayelo, Oupa Manyisa and Dlaine Klate gave them an advantage they never looked like relinquishing. Pirates coach Roger De Sa selected Kermit Erasmus for the striking role and it would pay off handsomely as the nippy forward had a hand in all three of their goals. Despite reports in the media last week that Ghana international goalkeeper Fatau Dauda would be involved in some form for Pirates, he was again left out of the match-day 18 with Senzo Meyiwa starting and Brighton Mhlongo on the bench. Pirates gave an early warning of their intent when Ayanda Gcaba headed over the bar from Manyisa’s cross inside two minutes, but soon after they were ahead. Sifiso Myeni played the ball behind the Stars defence, Erasmus crossed to the back post ...

t was the first time Pirates were able to beat Stars this season, having lost both previous encounters, first in the final of the MTN8, then again in the final of the Telkom Knockout cup tournament. Pirates broke the deadlock in the fifth minute through Thandani Ntshumayelo, before Oupa Manyisa doubled the advantage in the 18th minute, both from assists by Kermit Erasmus. Daine Klate then added Pirates' third in the 33rd minute, again courtesy of Erasmus's boot, to send the visitors into the half-time break leading comfortably. It took little under five minutes for Pirates to take the lead through Ntshumayelo, who slid in a simple conversion, after Erasmus sent an inch perfect delivery across the face of goal. Pirates were looking festive and had Erasmus and Oupa Manyisa go close to scoring shortly after the opener, but Stars' goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane was fortunate to keep the pair out. The Buccaneers refused to let up and before long, Pirates extended their advantage. Erasmus ran onto a ball over ...

"If I'm selected to play, it will be great to score one or two goals to contribute to the success of my team. We want to be in the top-10 bracket on the log before the end of the year." Rock-bottom Pirates playing catch up 27 November By Nkareng Matshe Orlando Pirates’ mission to get off the foot of the Absa Premiership table continues tonight when they face Maritzburg United, even though victory won't move them an inch. Behind by six games due to their run in the African Champions League, Roger De Sa’s team will play only their fourth league match of the season at Harry Gwala Stadium (7.30pm) against the unpredictable Maritzburg, who have lost their past two games but have somehow remained in the top eight. Pirates have beaten only Polokwane City in the league this term, but the Buccaneers have five more league matches after tonight to complete the year as they play catch-up. De Sa hinted at the weekend he would seek to rotate his squad – exhausted by a tough programme which has seen them play 20 matches in five months and reach three cup finals – and injuries have forced him to travel to Maritzburg without three key players. Daine Klate and Kermit Erasmus failed fitness tests a ...
Ndivhuwo Nekhavhambe wrote: Orlando Pirates vs Supersport United It is going to be a tough & an exciting game of football. Both teams are on fire so far, with Orlando Pirates still fresh from CAF Championship’s experience – and Supersport United, on the other hand, are third in the league table. We are expecting a tough challenge. Pirates strong point lies in their midfield, with Andile Jali playing deep and Oupa Manyisa collecting those balls and deliver them to Alex Bacela and Kermit Erasmus. On the left wing, Diane Klate will be dangerous providing those quality crosses; the same applies to Sfiso Myeni on the right wing. Pirates' players to watch: Andile Jali, Oupa Mayisa, Kermit Erasmus As for Supersport United, their strength is on the counter attack - of which I believe they will use to their advantage against the pacey-Buccaneers - with David Mathebula and Bennet Chinene making those runs catching Bucs on their loose halls. A tough encounter for both teams, but if Supersport comes out to play d ...
Andile Jali, Itu Khune, Bongani Zungu, Thulani Serero, Kermit Erasmus and Siyanda Xulu. This is the future of South African football.
Siyanda Xulu,Kamohelo Mokotjo,Bongani Zungu,Dylon Claasen,Andile Jali and Kermit Erasmus in these players i believe...They just need more game time at Bafana Bafana..
Mara when is this Gordon Igesund character going to put Lennox Bacela in the squad and why is Kermit Erasmus warming the bench?
Top10 Paid Soccer Players In The PSL: No 1: Dove Wome (Mamelodi Sundowns) Whether he plays or not at Sundowns is another story, but there is no question about his ability. “Key for Sundowns will be where they use Dove and how they play,” Free State Stars’ assistant coach Themba Sithole says in KICK OFF’s latest edition. “Dove is ideal as a support or shadow striker, he is very creative.” No 2: Knowledge Musona (Kaizer Chiefs) Is he still the same ‘Knodgy’ from three seasons ago? Well, the pre- season games suggest he’s lost none of his scoring touch despite a terrible two seasons in Germany. “I’ll be much better than before,” Musona warns. No 3: Kermit Erasmus (Orlando Pirates) His stats obviously don’t make for good reading if you consider the fact that he hit double figures in terms of goals just once since making his debut in 2007/08 – that was for Holland’s SBV Excelsior in 2009/10. But then again, Erasmus showed in the little time he played against Kaizer Chiefs in the C ...
An improved second half showing saw South Africa ease to a 3-0 victory over COSAFA rivals Swaziland in their international friendly played at the Somhlolo National Stadium in Lobamba on Friday night. After a lackluster first 45 minutes that ended 0-0, South Africa raced out the blocks in the second period and goals from Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Bongani Zungu and captain Thabo Nthethe handed them a comfortable victory in the end. Igesund recalled Orlando Pirates defender Rooi Mahamutsa to the starting line-up for the first time in four years and later gave Lennox Bacela his first international cap off the bench. Bafana might have been ahead inside the opening 30 seconds when Kermit Erasmus headed wide after ghosting in between two defenders. There was a scare at the other end when Sabelo Ndzinisa turned the defence and with just Senzo Meyiwa to beat in the South Africa goal, shot wide off the base of the post. Rising star Zungu was a halftime substitute for the ineffective Lerato Chabangu and changed the ga ...
Comfortable win for Bafana over Swaziland International friendly match report: Swaziland vs Bafana Bafana Posted: 15 November 2013 Time: 09:40 pm Print this article Swaziland conceded two goals early in the second half as Bafana Bafana earned a 3-0 win at Somhlolo National Stadium in Lobamba. Bafana dominated the early exchanges, and had the chance to go ahead in the first minute of the match, when Lerato Chabangu sent in a pinpoint pass to find Kermit Erasmus, but the Orlando Pirates man could not keep his header on target. Happy Jele had a chance 10 minutes later, after a set-piece by Siphiwe Tshabalala, but his header also went just wide. Swaziland came close on 15 minutes, when Nkosingiphile Tsabedze ran onto a long high ball from the left wing. He beat Rooi Mahamutsa with a dummy, but scuffed his shot just wide of the post, brushing the side netting. Bernard Parker beat two men to take a shot on 18 minutes, but it presented little danger for Swazi goalkeeper Nhlanhla Gwebu. Just before the half hour ...
What would be your first XI for Bafana bafana when they take on Swaziland tomorrow at Mbabane Stadium? Kick off for the match will be 8pm. Goalkeepers Senzo Meyiwa, Ronwen Williams Defenders Thabo Nthethe, Tshepo Gumede, Tefu Mashamaite, Buhle Mkhwanazi, Rooi Mahamutsa, Tsepo Masilela, Thabo Matlaba, Happy Jele Midfielders Andile Jali, Hlompho Kekana, Oupa Manyisa, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Bongani Zungu, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Lerato Chabangu, Daine Klate, Thuso Phala, Siphiwe Tshabalala Strikers Lennox Bacela, Bernard Parker, Kermit Erasmus, Edward Manqele
Senzo Meyiwa, Thabo Matlaba, Oupa Manyisa, Andile Jali, Happy Jele, Lennox Bacela, Rooi Mahamutsa and Kermit Erasmus for Bafana Bafana, even Klate was there but due to injury he has been ruled out. To me this was the poor decision.
Kermit Erasmus is 23, Lennox Bacela is 30. What’s the fuss about the latter not being in the squad? The future in mind please.
Edwin Marsh wrote In the season 2011/2012, Kingston scored more goals then Kermit Erasmus, Erwin Isaacs, Richard Henyekane, Mame Niang, Thuso Phala, Bernard Parker and Katlego Mashego. All of these players are your out and out hot strikers. In 2012/2013, he scored more goals than Henrico Botes, Calvin Kadi, Collins Mbesuma, Kermit Erasmus, Lennox Bacela, Siphelele Mthembu, Richard Henyekane, Eleazer Rodgers, Benjani, Thasanga Gabuza, Kaizer Jnr. Come 2013/2014 – 23 games to go. He has 3 goals less then leading scorers Parker/Manqele, 2 less then Cuthberrt Malajila, 1 less then Musona, 1 each with superstar Erasmus, and Bacela who is on fire has f**ol. So if Kingston is a cow, then what do you call the players he has out-scored during the past two seasons? A cow that has scored exactly the same number of goals with Erasmus and more than Bacela. There is only 3 goals between him and Parker. What if he scores a hat-trick during the week and a goal at the weekend? Then he has more goals then Parker. Then do ...

Seriously think Pirates made 2 great signings, by signing Kermit Erasmus and Lennox Bacela.
That Kermit Erasmus finish was on steroids!!! So I choose “C”
Roger De Sa says Sifiso Myeni will likely be available for the Champions League Final, despite getting a slight knock in the Soweto Derby. Myeni has been struggling on and off with a knee injury, but the coach says he should be fit for the first leg of the Final against Al Ahly at Orlando Stadium on Saturday. Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus celebrated his opening goal in the Soweto derby by saluting
I hope u all having a jujufied day It’s that time of the month again where you – the supporter, has the power to vote for the Peugeot Player of the Month. The winning player will get to drive the all new Peugeot 206 GTI for the month of his reign. The month of October was a good one for the Mighty Buccaneers. Five matches and no defeat. To kickoff the month was a home match against Esperance TP in the 1st leg CAF Champions League semi-final on October 5. The Tunisian giants came into the match having collected an impressive 15 (out of a possible 18) points from the group stages. Goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa and his back four which consisted of Thabo Matlaba, Rooi Mahamutsa, Siyabonga Sangweni, and Happy Jele, kept the two-time African Champions at bay throughout the ninety minutes. The match ended in a goalless draw. Three days later, Pirates traveled to Mbombela to take on Mpumalanga Black Aces in the Telkom Knockout Cup Last 16. A brace from Lennox Bacela and the third from Oupa Manyisa was enough to see ...

Superb finish from the little man - Kermit Erasmus. Love him or hate him, boy is class.
Most Zimbabwean players playing in foreign leagues found it particularly tough during this past weekend, with most players on the receiving end, with the exception of a few whose clubs celebrated wins. Some players enjoyed some great midweek results though. In South Africa In the Absa Premiership league, the only player who scored a goal this weekend is the much maligned Kingston Nkhatha, who, against all the senseless booing he endured at the hands of his own club supporters, scored a 41st minute equaliser for Kaizer Chiefs in a league SOWETO derby with the on-fire Orlando Pirates at the Soccer City (FNB) Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Kermit Erasmus had given the Buccaneers an early lead after dominating the early exchanges. Knowledge Musona failed to recover on time from a shoulder injury sustained when he scored an equaliser for Amakhosi during a Telkom Knock-out victory over Free State Stars last weekend. Willard Katsande as usual played the entire match for Chiefs. During midweek, Mamelodi Sundowns' ...
I like the way Kermit Erasmus celebrated his goal last Saturday... It was like "COOL DOWN ITS JUST THE PRACTISE FOR NEXT WEEK" Morning Bucs Family

Not even a brawl could liven up derby 27 October By Jonty Mark Even a boxing match couldn’t add punch to yesterday’s Soweto derby, a pleasant summer afternoon let down by a rather spark-less stalemate. The mass brawl that ensued midway through the second half spoke of the tensions that always run high on days like this. And yet for all the fight there wasn’t even close to enough flair to make this rewarding viewing. Pirates got a splendid enough goal from Kermit Erasmus, but then stopped playing for much of the rest of the game. Chiefs, meanwhile, had a story of redemption to tell, as Kingston Nkhatha fought off being booed by his own fans to net an (albeit offside) equaliser. But they, too, were off their game, in a poor advert for the Absa Premiership, added to by some lamentable officiating. Nkhatha’s goal was palpably offside, and referee Victor Hlungwani’s decision not to at least book players for the second half ructions was bizarre, to say the least. It was a bit of a shame for a game tha ...
Kermit Erasmus (Orlando Pirates) pulls out the "Sturridge celebration" after goal in Soweto derby v Kaizer Chiefs

He did Daniel Sturridge's dance after the calma “Guess we now know who Kermit Erasmus idolises by his celebration yesterday
Masilela admits that while Chiefs should be winning their home games, a draw with Pirates is not to be downplayed. Buccaneers took an early lead through Kermit Erasmus, but Chiefs hit back on the Stroke of half-time as the Soweto rivals shared the spoils at the FNB Stadium. Masilela feels that the Chiefs took a while to get going in the opening period and they were made to pay for the lack of sharpness early on, but in the end the Bafana Bafana international believes a draw is a fair result.
Pirates unlucky on not winning against Chiefs but never the less .. Lovely goal by Kermit Erasmus :) Nice one
okay I get you so what did you think of Kermit Erasmus performance?
Itumeleng Khune didn't see a thing on that Kermit Erasmus goal lmao
That was a cocky goal celebration by Kermit Erasmus wasn't it?
how did you rate Kermit Erasmus's performance as a number 10?
I'm thankful to Kermit Erasmus' goal, otherwise we would have been beaten with an off-side,likethe in Black Label Championship Cup,my heart is painful though for missing the maximum 3 points because of an off-side,otherwise what doesn't kill you makes strong.
Kermit Erasmus is the next Pirates hero?
The Final Score in the derby is : 1 "excellent goal" Pirates [Kermit Erasmus] _ 1 "off-side" Chiefs [referee Enoch Molefe] !
Kermit erasmus indeed he's da star we love u boy keep it up

Kaizer Chiefs 1-1 Orlando Pirates Goal Scorer | Assist [Erasmus | Matlaba] [Nkhatha | Tshabalala] Orlando Pirates still fighting Relegation on 14th position. The draw puts Kaizer Chiefs in 4th position. -Game started on a high both teams having a go at each other,Orlando Pirates enjoying bulk of the possesion stakes. Finally paid off after a quick and swift interchange of passes, between Matlaba and Daine Klate.Thabo Matlaba whips in a good cross to find Kermit Erasmus who didn't waste no time and volleyed the ball past Khune's net. -Kaizer Chiefs enjoy a good attacking flair as half time looms, searching for an equaliser. Finally paid off after the Orlando Pirates defence was caught in sixes and sevens,Masilela plays a good pass to Tshabalala who picks up Nkhatha to nod one home for the home side. Verdict : Great game coupled with a lot of bad officiating,As the match proved too big for the match day Officials.

PREVIEW: Bafana vs Zimbabwe Posted: 10 September 2013 Time: 12:16 pm After the disappointment of being eliminated from 2014 World Cup qualifying this weekend Bafana Bafana turn their attention to the Warriors of Zimbabwe for an international friendly this evening. The match takes place at Orlando Stadium, kick-off at 8.30pm. Bafana turned on the style on Saturday afternoon in Durban to defeat Botswana 4-1 and end their Group A qualifying campaign on a high. Sadly, with Ethiopia defeating Central African Republic 2-1 at the same time, it was not enough to advance into the final round of CAF qualifying. Nonetheless, Gordon Igesund’s side produced one of the best performances under his tenure, as goals from Kermit Erasmus, Dean Furman and Bernard Parker saw them to an impressive win. “When I take a step back, I can safely say we cannot blame anyone for not proceeding to the next round of qualifiers, and thus missing out on the Brazil World Cup,” Igesund says. “It is just unfortunate that the ball did ...

Bafana strikers under pressure – Rantie 04 September By SAPA Durban – Bafana Bafana striker Tokelo Rantie has conceded feeling a weight of expectation on his shoulders as South Africa continues its search for a clinical finisher in attack. The 22-year-old is among three strikers – the others are Kermit Erasmus and Bernard Parker – named in Gordon Igesund’s latest squad to face Botswana in a must-win World Cup qualifier in Durban on Saturday. “Yes (we do feel the weight of expectation),” Rantie said on Wednesday. “I mean people expect us to score and only goals can win you the game. “I believe we will do it. We have Kermit, we have Bernard and those guys they can score goals.” The match will be South Africa’s 16th international of the year, and even though they have scored 19 goals in those games, an alarming statistic reveals that only three of those have come against opponents higher than them in the global Fifa rankings. In matches against Norway, their only European opponents in 2 ...
