Katy Perry holds the same record as Michael Jackson for most Number One singles from an album.
They don't. These people, with "Pop" mean Michael Jackson, not Britney Spears or Lady Gaga or Katy Perry.

I'm playing covers of Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Muse, Lorde, Rage Against the Machine, Prince, Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, and more of that sort at a show tomorrow night for New Year's Eve with STRAYS... it's gonna be NASTY. Josh Misener, Shane Lunsford, Travis Perry and I are dorks for Pop Music and we're gonna rock out starting at 9ish at Cocktails in Cedar Rapids . If you're looking to stay in Iowa City for New Year's Eve, I highly suggest thugging out to Dr. Edmond (aka Dillon Redmond aka Dill aka Arm Pit City) at the Blue Moose Tap House. Show starts at 9 there, and it's gonna be all sorts of EDM/Dubstep/Wibbly-Wobbly magic. Dillon is an inspiring producer. If you're hitting up CR that night and Katy Perry doesn't entice you (..shame on you) and you want that electronic/EDM flavor, then definitely go see Connor O'Neil and Will Hart perform as Bubbleclap at Groundswell. I have their album "Bounce Kastle" and it's a glorious blend of Electronica and the eagle scouts from Age of Empires II: Conque ...
Q by Kat Daniels: What kind of music/band(s) do you like to listen to?? A: I have a very diverse musical taste. I can go from singing along to West Side Story to humming along to some Katy Perry or Ke$ha and then still go for some Blood on the DanceFloor or Hollywood Undead all in the same day. As for bands, there is no band or singer I outright hate, I've listened to Rodgers & Hammerstein, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Cascada, Jessie J, 30h3, One Direction, (old school) Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson, Beatles, Fall-Out Boy, Falling in Reverse, Hollywood Undead, Blood on the DanceFloor, Jeffree Starr, Prices the Veil, Black Veil Brides. And that's not even all of them, most of the major ones and some background ones for me, but not all - John's admin
Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé. All dominated the Superbowl, Then they downgraded to Katy Perry.
Calvin Harris has beaten the record set by Michael Jackson (which Katy Perry previously tied) for most No. 1 singles from one album.
So I've been thinking about taking after "Weird Al" Yankovic by making parodies of Pop Culture songs. But the twist I'll be putting on it is that the parodies will have themes centered around wrestling personalities. Here's my list of Pop Culture songs with the wrestling personalities that will be the center of the parody: Gangnam Style by PSY - Paul Heyman Gentleman by PSY - AJ Styles Like a Boss by The Lonely Island - Mr. McMahon Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley - Shawn Michaels Beat It by Michael Jackson - ECW (before WWE took it over) Livin' La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin - Randy Orton Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen - Zack Ryder (The premise of this is actually about jobbers in general but I picked Ryder as the poster boy for it.) I Kissed a Girl by Katy Perry - Various WWE Divas First World Problems by "Weird Al" Yankovic - The Miz (Still debating on whether I should even do this one.) What Does the Fox Say by Ylvis - Sting
Rock Calendar 8-13-87: Michael Jackson releases the "Bad" LP, which will yield five Number One singles, still a record (tied by Katy Perry)

Michael Jackson died on June 25th, 2009, in a desperate search for sleep as he prepared for a comeback tour that he hoped would pull him out of deep debt and restore his reputation as the world's top entertainer. Events of the past five years revealed how that desperation ultimately killed Jackson, while his wealth and fame have been secured in the wake of his death. Michael Jackson left the United States with his three young children soon after his June 13, 2005 acquittal on child molestation charges. He quietly returned to the country in late 2006,after spending a year exiled in Bahrain and several months in Ireland. Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard spent the next two years as Jackson's bodyguards, which they detail in a just-published book "Remember the Time:Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days." When Jackson stepped off the private jet in Las Vegas, his entourage consisted only of his children and their nanny. "He was all alone,"Whitfield recalled in a CNN interview. "It became an unreal t ...

"Empires" is an amazing song. - Rock boyband: Better than country boyband. - Katy Perry: Looked like Rainbow Bright vomited on her head but fun. - Imagine Dragons: Really really good! - Michael Jackson hologram: Cool but would have been cooler if it was a hologram of MJ and not an MJ impersonator. - Ricky Martin: Interchangeable with the Pitbull performance but slightly better. - Tall goofy country singer: He was tall and goofy. - Lorde: STOP TRYING TO MAKE LORDE HAPPEN! - Carrie Underwood & Miranda Lambert: It was like a really good American Idol performance! - John Legend: Legendary!!! - Jason Derulo: Such a good dancer. - Miley Cyrus & the dude from Flaming Lips doing a Beatles song: OMG! So out there that it was kind of genius! ...
So overall, for those who missed it, this is a recap of the Billboard Music Awards: 1. Michael Jackson was the best performer there and he wasn't even REALLY there! 2. Lorde is the new Taylor Swift (i.e. winning everything, acting all surprised, becoming over exposed). Girl eat a sandwich and go with brighter colors. You look pale to the point of death. You are dead if you go outside when the sun is shining, I just know it! 3. John Legend was good as always but him singing the same love song to his wife is getting old. OK, you love her! Great! Now let her "inspire" your azz to sing something else or is that the only song on the album? (I know it's not since I LOVE it which is why I would like to hear MORE singles released) 4. Miley won something, wore nothing, said nothing and was her usual Miley self. ( *** scratching break taken at this time) But Imagine Dragons and OneRepublic were great! 5. Katy Perry looked like a real life Rainbow Brite during her performance. Her "pop eyes" already tell me she is o ...
Billboard Wrap Up: Ludacris, why so serious? Can't wait for Pitbull to come to The Great Allentown Fair. Was it me, or was this the Luke Bryan show? Ariana Grande def the next J.Lo, just don't slip. Iggy Azalea, props for not using a backing track, take notes you rappers. When did One Direction start playing guitars (5 Seconds of Summer). Was Robin Thicke singing to his ex to come back? Katy Perry knows how to throw a birthday party, Shakira did her thing. Kelly Rowland looks *** fine. Nicki Minaj looked...normal, and fine too. Is Lorde trying out to be a werewolf? Miley Cyrus, never, ever do a Beatles song again! Michael Jackson hologram was dope, watch Vegas cash in on that. Guess I'm gonna start getting requests for Jason Derulo's Wiggle. Big winner Justin Timberlake, funny dude. Zing Donald Sterling. Jennifer Lopez rightfully deserves the Icon Award, making us latinos proud. And last but not least, but THANK GOD no Taylor Swift LOL. Goodnight FB.
METALLICA GUITARIST RECORDS 19TH CENTURY SONG FOR COMPILATION News provided by Pulse Metallica lead guitarist Kirk Hammett has recorded a cover of the 19th century pop standard "Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built For Two)" for a compilation album featuring a number of well-known artists all covering the exact same song. According to Consequence Of Sound, the album, called The *** Nineties Old Tyme Music: Daisy Bell, also rounds up versions of "Daisy Bell" from "Weird Al" Yankovic, Tyler The Creator, Nick Cave, Katy Perry, Devo‘s Mark Mothersbaugh, and ex-Oingo Boingo mastermind/film composer Danny Elfman. The song has been covered extensively since it was written more than a century ago, and might be best known as the tune that the supercomputer HAL 9000 sings as it is being shut down in 2001: A Space Odyssey. The album was conceived by artist Mark Ryden, who has done cover art for records like the Red Hot Chili Peppers' One Hot Minute and Michael Jackson's Dangerous. The disc will be printed in a limited run o ...
Tell that to Michael Jackson,Whitney Houston,The Beatles,Katy Perry, Rihanna,Jennifer Lopez, etc, they'd laugh in your face
Such a long day. Spent the afternoon in Hollywood.touring the place. Seen one star, & some Star's houses. Hailey Berry, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Al Pacino, Bruce Willis, Johnny Depp, Christina Aguilera, Simon Cowell, Katy Perry, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and so many more! It was a long day, and I'm so tired!
Yesterday we took an open-air bus tour of Hollywood homes. We saw homes of Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Michael Jackson, Al Pacino, Denzel Washington, Lucille Ball & Lawrence Fishbourne, we ate dinner at Mel's Diner & we went to the Hollywood Museum.
I seen Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, The Rock, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and Katy Perry's houses today also got to see the play boy mansion.
Think of this when valuing so called "awards" and "numbers". -Jonah Hill- 2 Oscar Nominations / Gary Oldman- 1 Oscar Nomination. -Katy Perry & Michael Jackson tie for the most Number One singles from an album. -Ke$ha’s “Tik-Tok” sold more copies than ANY Beatles single. -Led Zeppelin, REM, and Depeche Mode have never had a Number One single, Rihanna has 10.
Quiz. Where did these artists sing about? 1. Where did Katy Perry wake up? 2. Where was Marc Cohn Walking? 3. Where did Elton John find his freedom? 4. Where was Dionne Warwick asking the way to? 5. Where was Gene Pitney 24 hours from? 6. Where was Billy Joel saying goodnight? 7. Where was Tony Christie asking the way to? 8. Where was Michael Jackson a Stranger? 9. Where Abba sang about when winning Eurovision? 10. Where was the Bee Gees mining disaster of 1941? Answers tomorrow.
You've probably heard Katy Perry sing her song Dark Horse before. But you probably never heard Michael Jackson or Frank Sinatra or Metallica or Nirvana give their rendition of that pop song. Don't worry, they never did. But if you close your eyes and listen to this guy sing Katy Perry while doing th...
YouTuber Anthony Vincent has lent his impressive voice to a cover of Katy Perry's Dark Horse, delivering it in 10-second bursts in the style of Nirvana, Michael Jackson, Slipknot, Boyz II Men and more.

Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse”: a brief timeline of music’s Illuminati obsession. This week, Katy Perry released the music video for her latest single "Dark Horse", an over-the-top, camp-fest themed around ancient Egypt. Or is it? Is it actually the latest piece of the music industry's ongoing propaganda in service of the Illuminati? If you're not familiar, the Illuminati, according to nutjobs conspiracy theorists, are an all-powerful secret order of financial and cultural elites that have been ruling the world for hundreds of years and that includes everyone from the President to the Pope. Peculiarly for such a secretive order, the Illuminati is particularly obvious in the music industry, with everyone from Tupac to Michael Jackson and even One Direction allegedly members or "slaves" to their malicious schemes. Perry's "Dark Horse" video is just the latest entry in a string of proof of our devil-worshipping, eye and pyramid-obsessed overlords. Here's the "proof": 1700s: Beethoven spends his teenage ye ...
From a musicians heart. I rarely ever do this but I just couldn't resist (Sighs***) I did watch the Grammys last night. Which by the way is a HUGE event where almost every musician, singer, instrumentalist, OR whatever you may call yourself is in one shape form or fashion involved in whether being present or watching from home. Please note that my intent is not to critize anyone or their music but only to express my opinion based upon what I saw. -I listen to secular music (not some of the junk that is out to clarify) and I sometimes find it more in depth of creativity and spontaneous than a worship song. I think that people like Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Pink, and some along that line bring an amazing sense of creativity and stage presence. There is no one that can replace Michael Jackson ( he had fire music ! ), Stevie Wonder (can sing and play socks off), Katy Perry ( I love her voice and she is a fantastic song writer ) Pink ( I give her props...the girl can sing and she is different.) .Anyways t ...
Are the Grammy commercials contending with NFL Super Bowl commercials??? They're cute & Super Star filled too...Shakira, JT, Janelle Monae & The Band Perry for Target, Terry, Deion, Mike Ditka, JT & others for the Grammy's Pepsi 1/2 time Show(loved it), Katy Perry & Pink for Cover Girl, Michael Jackson, Spike Lee & others for Sony, John Legend for Chevy, JT for MasterCard & More to come...
With Last Friday Night, Katy Perry becomes the first woman, and only the second artist after Michael Jackson, to send five songs to No. 1 in the Billboard Hot 100.
Michael Jackson, Madonna, Kesha, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and me loves u too my princess!
Lupe Fiasco..one lesson: if you're so DESPERATE for $$ and FAM€ that you go crawling to Illuminati Puppet-Priest, Jay Z, for help..try not to bite the hand that feeds you. Obama is an Illuminati Overlord so you'd be well advised to shut your mouth and pretend like you didn't see anything and keep raking in the dough for your handlers in the industry..like brainwashed Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry and Chris Brown keep doing. Now it's all your shows being sabotaged..tomorrow it could be getting SACRIFICED (like they did to Michael Jackson when he started disagreeing with them) and They'll claim you ODed. :'(
Beyonce, Katy Perry, Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Eminem, Bruno Mars, Madonna want me to keep going?

'I am Filipino,' Bruno Mars says on 'SNL' MANILA, Philippines - "I am Filipino," international singer-songwriter Bruno Mars declared on Saturday Night Live (SNL) last month. Mars, who is Peter Gene Hernandez in real life, said "I am Filipino", in one number at SNL where he served as both host and musical guest, an Associated Press report said. The singer was born in Hawaii to a Filipino mother and Puerto Rican father. In the AP report, Mars said he had so much fun doing the SNL show and would be glad to do it again. The report also added that Mars' October 20 appearance gave the NBC variety show the second-best ratings this season. In the show, Mars showcased his singing and acting talents in the comedy skits where he impersonated other musicians like Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Steven Tyler. Last April, the Grammy winner visited the Philippines for a successful two-day concert in Manila and Cebu. Among his many hits songs are "Just The Way You Are," "Grenade," "Marry You" and "Nothin' ...
Also did anyone see Sat Nite Live last Sat night? Well Bruno Mars hosted and one of the skits he plays a kid that works cleaning up at a radio station. The radio station's music is down and Bruno is called in to sing so he does Green Day, Aerosmith, Katy Perry, Justin Beiber and Michael Jackson. He was so good. What a talented man Bruno was on SNL. They'll re-run it, they always do.

O. M. G. I liked Bruno Mars as an artist before, but just saw his SNL skit where he imitated Billie Joe Armstrong, Steven Tyler, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, _Louis_ Armstrong and Michael Jackson and he pretty much nailed all of them. I'm way too old to be a fanboi, but "Death is easy. *Comedy* is hard."
This weekend, Saturday Night Live aimed their satirical arrows at Pandora. During the sketch, the music streaming goes down and an intern played by Bruno Mars is forced fill the void with parodies of Green Day, Katy Perry, Justin Beiber, Michael Jackson and more. Mars generally does a stellar job, b...
Bruno Mars on SNL last night was MERVEILLEUX! His skit impersonating Green Day, Steven Tyler, Michael Jackson and Katy Perry on Pandora Radio was so talented and funny - I just about died with his "Smooth Criminal" impersonation. LOVE HIM.
So, Bruno Mars kicked all sorts of *** on SNL last night. Anyone who can switch from singing like Billy Joe Armstrong to Steven Tyler to Katy Perry to Justin Beiber to Louie Armstrong to Michael Jackson (insanely well) in the span of a couple minutes is pretty amazing.
Bruno Mars singing Green Day, Aerosmith, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Louie Armstrong, and three Michael Jackson songs as a Pandora Radio Intern to save the website during a power outage. This SNL is pretty awesome so far.
Also, they always make them sing. Although, great Billy Joe Armstrong, Katy Perry, and Michael Jackson impressions, Bruno.
Dear God We'll trade you Kesha, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga for Michael Jackson.
For the longest time OCD was considered a rare illness. Sufferers went almost 2 DECADES after experiencing their first symptom before being diagnosed. Few would talk about it let alone admit to it. Times have changed and people are finally reaching out to their friends and family to create awareness. Celebrities are no different. Did you know; Charles Darwin, Jessica Alba, Billy BobThornton, Cameron Diaz, Donald Trump, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Jackson, Howard Stern, Howie Mandel, Katy Perry, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Martin Scorsese, David Beckham, Fred Durst, Justin Timberlake, Marc Summers and Jennifer Love Hewitt, just to name a few, have all admitted to having a form of OCD? It's more common than you think!
Lady Gaga taught me that it's ok to be different, Bruno Mars taught me to do anything for that one person I love, Ke$ha taught me to me myself and not care what anybody else thinks, Eminem taught me that life is hard but you can make it through, Michael Jackson taught me to always love the people around me, Katy Perry taught me to respect each other, no matter how different you were, Bob Marly taugh me to live my life in peace, Music taught me how to live...
Alright everyone... usually my best friend Jo does this but as she's otherwise fully preoccupied, I've volunteered to take up the Typist's MP3 player for this week's Random 20 tonight. And let me tell you--this round was a doozy! Jo would've LOVED it! [Or she would've had her mind blown... but definitely one of the two.] Anyway, the Warm-Up, in Jo's honor, was the Xilent Remix of "Wide Awake" by Katy Perry. The Random 20 after that, was as follows: 1] "Slave to Love" - Bryan Ferry. 2] "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" - Death Cab for Cutie. 3] "Talking Loud and Clear" - OMD. 4] "Hello It's Me" - Todd Rundgren. 5] "Lemon Parade" - Tonic. 6] "Little Spacey" - Cocteau Twins. 7] "Fifty-Fifty Clown" - Cocteau Twins. 8] "Human Nature" - Michael Jackson. 9] "Mr. Jones" - Counting Crows. 10] "Trouble" - Coldplay. 11] "She's Hearing Voices" ['Silent Alarm Remixed' version] - Bloc Party. 12] "Transmission" - Joy Division. 13] "Stand Up" - Ludacris. 14] "Evil Dust" - New Order. 15] "Bloody and Blunt" - Cocteau Twins ...
In order to entertain myself while moving out, I made the most shamefully awesome mix ever consisting of Kesha, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Carly Rae, Backstreet Boys, Michael Jackson.and so on. I am slightly ashamed of myself, but I'm too busy rocking to care.
I happened to be in my car at this time and was struck by a couple things: 1. Rick Dees is Still Alive an doing the Top 40. That takes me back to the days of listening with a tape player to make my own mix tapes. 2. Katy Perry has topped Michael Jackson in No.1's. Personally, that stupid song didn't hold a candle to "I'm Bad."
Aah first no best friend, now no brother! Ruhhhrrrooo! Ruuuhrooo! I guess I'm gonna have to get a girlfriend to keep me company. Woah, that was awkward! Being able to sing homosexual songs such as Taylor Swift, Enrique Iglesias, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, oldies, etc. 2. Watch One Tree Hill seasons 1-9 3. Being able to attend midnight showings 4. Fight over Ivan Augilar with me 5. Watch movies includes chick flicks 6. Part of Her World Katy Perry gives fans a look inside her road to fame in the 3-D documentary Part of Me Katy Perry made music history last year as the first female artist to produce five Number 1 songs off a single album with 2010’s Teenage Dream. It’s a rare achievement that has only been accomplished by one other artist before now: the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. But who was Katy Perry before she skyrocketed to stardom? Who is the girl behind the famously colorful hair and whimsical costumes? The world is about to find out. COURTESY PARAMOUNT PICTURES Katy Perry greets young fans in Katy Perry: Part of Me Katy Perry: Part of Me, now playing in 3-D, follows the singer as she heads out on her yearlong, sold-out California Dreams Tour. While we do get to watch her perform hits like “Firework” and “Hot ‘N Cold” onstage, the documentary is far from being a typical concert movie. The audience gets a rare peek at what goes on backstage and the pressures of life on the road. We also get ...
You say Lady Gaga, I say Michael Jackson You say Rihanna, I say Michael Jackson You say E.T by Katy Perry is great I say Dirty Diana by Michael Jackson is better You say he's dead, I say he's alive in our hearts. You say you're getting bored of this, I say i'm not stopping until you say he's better. You say fine he's amazing I say thank you, NOW SHUT THE HECK UP!
Taylor Swift did what only The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Michael Jackson have with 3 albums in a row & Katy Perry did what only MJ has before with 5 singles from the same album. It only took us 40 years to destroy music, not bad humans...not bad.
Naya Rivera always kills it with her performances on "Glee." Her mash-up of the Adele songs 'Rumour Has It" and "Someone Like You" was unforgettable, her rendition of Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" never gets old, and her battle with Sebastian (Grant Gustin) on Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" wa...
A few comments on Amazon.com about SUPA. As a musician who still tours at least 200 days out of every year and spends time in the studio when I'm not on the road, I'm always on the look out for that new artist that bleeds from the heart and leaves guts all over the stage. Supa does that! I was in Houston for the car show between sets at another venue and happened to catch Supa's show. Wow! I've had the same feeling in my bones about only a handful of perfomers that I've either performed with or seen onstage through the years...Elvis, Ray Charles, Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, Selena, 2pac and Katy Perry are among those who come to mind that I knew were gonna be stars even the first time I saw them step on the stage. Take it from an ole rock `n roller, Supa has it! TO SUPA IF YOU READ THIS: Dude, you're coming straight from the heart and you're hearing your music from another place than most cats today. Keep it real and there's no limits to what you're gonna accomplish in this biz! I sh ...
