Had a nice quiet day at home today. Weather will be hot again tomorrow with temps in the 90s once again. Toronto Blue Jays have placed first baseman/designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion on the 15 day disabled list with a strained right quad. Seattle Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager has been selected to the 2014 All Star Game as a replacement for Edwin Encarnacion. AL All Star Game manager John Farrell said yesterday that his first choice to replace any pitcher who pitches on Sunday or drops out of the game would Red Sox closer Koji Uehera. New York Yankees starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka is schedule to pitch on Sunday which would make him unable to pitch in the All Star Game next Tuesday. Well folks, the 2014 NFL draft has come and gone, and while there were plenty of interesting, motivating and polarizing stories to speak of, the Denver Broncos' front office executed a snooze fest of a draft that could put me to sleep faster than a Kansas City Royals vs. Toronto Blue Jays day...

With the regular season set to get underway in less than 6 hours, here are my predictions for this year. American League EAST 1 - Tampa Bay Rays - No glaring weaknesses, just guys who love to play the game and give their all every single day. 2 - Boston Red Sox - Lost some key pieces, but will still put a really good product on the field, even without the beards. 3 - New York Yankees - Overpaid and overaged. Until they learn to produce their own talent, they will be mired in paying too much to get seats in the stands and hope for their championships to continue. 4 - Baltimore Orioles - Too little improvement over the offseason. Maybe they need a doctor who is not so strict. 5 - Toronto Blue Jays - Um, they're Canadian. What else can I say. American League CENTRAL 1 - Cleveland Indians - Chemistry is key and this team is following much of the mold of the Rays these days. Gonna prove that money does not necessarily win championships. 2 - Kansas City Royals - Finally they get back over the hump and while the ...

This just in: Under Barack Obama's wealth redistribution plan, the Top 10 salaried teams in Major League Baseball must give up their most talented assets to the Bottom 10 teams. That means the Tigers, Cardinals, Giants, Rangers and Yankees will be stripped. C.C. Sabathia will pitch for the Padres in 2013 while Justin Verlander goes to Pittsburgh, Buster Posey goes to the Toronto Blue Jays, Josh Hamilton goes to the Houston Astros, and Matt Holliday joins the Kansas City Royals. Rim-shot!

The Texas Rangers defeated the Kansas City Royals by a score of 4-2 on the fine pitching effort of Scott Feldman who went 7.2 innings and good relief by Adams and Ogando. The Oakland Athletics lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 in extra innings so they are now 5.5 Games Back. My friend Scott Smith will let me know tomorrow whether they are 6 or 7 Games Back in the Standings. Go Rangers!!!
Feldman wins 6th straight, Rangers beat Royals 4-2 Kansas City, Mo. (AP) — Josh Hamilton drove in two runs, Scott Feldman won his sixth straight decision and the Texas Rangers defeated the Kansas City Royals 4-2 on Saturday night. Feldman (6-6) worked into the eighth inning and became the First Pitcher in 29 years to win six consecutive decisions after starting the season 0-6. Doyle Alexander did it in 1983 with the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays. Hamilton, who leads the majors with 90 RBIs, hit an opposite-field single in the third inning to score Ian Kinsler and Elvis Andrus. Kinsler singled with one out and went to third on Andrus’ double. Mike Olt, called up Thursday from Double-A, added two RBIs for the AL West leaders. With closer Joe Nathan unavailable, Alexi Ogando worked around two singles in the ninth to earn his third save. Feldman, who was 3-0 with a 1.96 ERA in July, held Kansas City to six hits and two runs over 7 2-3 innings. The Royals, who lost for the 23rd time in 32 games, s ...
