(George) As you may know, the MLB Wild Card Playoff Games are tomorrow and Wednesday, here are my thoughts on both games, unfortunatley no prices are available on these games so will have to repost when they do become available. Oakland Athletics @ Kansas City Royals This American League Wild Card game will take place on Tuesday night with James Shields and John Lester taking the mound for their respective teams. Comin into the Wild Card game, the teams have had contrasting form, Kansas City have won 6 out of their last 8 games and have a 15-10 record in the month of September, Oakland on the other hand went 4/8 and had a record of 10-16 in the month of September. Based on those stats, you have to be on the side of the home team, even with Lester's postseason experience, I think Shields has been fantastic this season and has really stepped up for the Royals George's Tip - Kansas City Royals (Shields) to beat Oakland Athletics (Lester) San Francisco Giants @ Pittsburgh Pirates Both teams come into the post ...

(AP) — Yordano Ventura struck out six in 4 1/3 innings and Salvador Perez hit a two-run Home Run, leading the Kansas City Royals to a 3-1 win over the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday. "I like his composure. I like the way that game doesn't speed up on him for a young player," Royals manager Ned Yost said of the 22-year-old Ventura. "He always seems to be in control of his emotions on the mound." Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas continued his torrid spring, going 3 for 3 with a solo homer, double and single to raise his Batting Average to .500 in 11 games. Moustakas has four Home Runs and 13 RBIs. Moustakas got two of his hits with two strikes. "His whole focus this spring has primarily been with two strikes," Yost said. "In the cage and the drills that they do, it's on two-strike approach." Ventura allowed a run on two hits, leaving after giving up a single to Oakland's Derek Norris. " ...

Dyson sends Royals to scrappy 4-3 win over A’s Kansas City, Mo. (AP) — Jarrod Dyson delivered an infield single with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth inning Saturday, giving the Kansas City Royals a scrappy 4-3 victory over the Oakland Athletics. The Royals had rallied to tie the game on a sacrifice fly by Eric Hosmer in the seventh, and then loaded the bases on an error and a pair of walks by reliever Ryan Cook. Dyson, hardly known for his power, showed bunt on his first pitch from Cook (1-2) before hitting a grounder deep behind second base. Shortstop Adam Rosales fielded it cleanly but didn’t even bother with a throw as pinch runner Alcides Escobar scored the go-ahead run. Aaron Crow (6-3) worked the eighth and Greg Holland handled the ninth for his 20th save, wrapping up Kansas City’s first win in five tries against Oakland this season. Mike Moustakas homered and Billy Butler drove in a run for the Royals, while Alex Gordon walked three times and reached on an error in his return to ...

A great week for Robinson Cano (in his 9th big league season), going seven for seventeen (.412) in five games (not including tonight's Sunday night ESPN game). Crisp, Cespedes homer to lead A’s over Royals Kansas City, Mo. (AP) — Coco Crisp and Yoenis Cespedes homered, and Dan Straily picked up his first major league victory as the Oakland Athletics beat the Kansas City Royals 3-0 on Thursday night. Crisp, who played for the Royals in 2009, was 2 for 27 this season against Kansas City before the Home Run. Crisp drilled a 2-0 pitch from Luke Hochevar deep to right. The ball hit high off a green wall beyond the fence and caromed back onto the field. It was first ruled a double, but manager Bob Melvin disputed that. After the umpires viewed replays, it was changed to a Home Run. Straily (1-0), a 24th-round draft pick in 2009, held the Royals to three singles over 6 1-3 innings in his third major league start. Straily, who walked two and struck out two, pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the second inning. Hochevar (7-11) gave up three runs and four hits in seven-plus innings. Hochevar is 0-8 with a 6.52 ERA in nine career starts against Oakland. The A’s had ...
