BREAKING: Kansas City Royals sweep Baltimore Orioles to reach World Series for first time since 1985.
Well the Kansas City Royals have swept the Baltimore Orioles and will be playing in the World Series, they haven't been their since 1985.
Congratulations to the Kansas City Royals, the unbelievable team which has gone undefeated in the postseason, by winning their wildcard game against the Oakland A's, sweeping my Angels in the first round, and then winning 4 in a row against the heavily favored Baltimore Orioles. Next stop for the boys in Royal Blue: Their first World Series since 1985. These guys, the way they play, remind me alot of my 2002 Angels, and I think they have a good chance of bringing home the hardware this year too. Sad my Angels aren't in it this time, but happy that another scrappy little team is playing for it all. :)
Something really special happen 31 years ago today (October 16th) no, not me coming into this world (yeah that happened too) but 31 years ago TODAY, the Baltimore Orioles finished off the Philadelphia Phillies to win the World Series. They finished that season with a record of 98 and 61. This year the ended their season 96 and 66 losing the the Kansas City Royals in the alcs. Good season Orioles. Better luck next year. It was a lot of fun watching them this season. Gotta wonder if Manny Machado and Chris Davis were in the lineup, what could have happened??

Baseball Peeps! Who would have thunk it but here we go. ALCS is the Kansas City Royals vs the Baltimore Orioles. Who you got?
It's like I keep telling my son, Lincoln Jackson Wright (who doesn't want to hear it either), it's the National Football League. They are ALL good! Somedays they are better, or worse, than others. It's the same way in Major League Baseball. Hence, the Baltimore Orioles and the Kansas City Royals playing for the American League pennant.
After a pair of three-game sweeps in the Division Series round, the Baltimore Orioles and Kansas City Royals will meet for the first time ever in the postseason, in the 2014 American League Championship Series beginning Friday in Baltimore.
Nice job Kansas City Royals!! Swept the mighty Angels! No one saw that coming. My favorite American League team is the Baltimore Orioles, so now I'm torn!! I guess I want the Royals to win if...the Cardinals get in so we can get revenge for the 1985 rip off. It was also be cool for Missouri. If the Cards don't get there, then I want the Orioles to win. This sweep was impressive for sure.
Los Angeles Angels, Detroit Tigers need to wake up or they will be swept by the Kansas City Royals and the Baltimore Orioles.

"The Reason Why Fenway Loved *** Drago" Although never receiving the acclaim given to others, it is clear that he was a key player on his Red Sox teams; never was he more important than during the glory season of 1975. *** Drago was born on June 25, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio. He was a former relief pitcher who played for the Kansas City Royals (1969-1973), Boston Red Sox (1974-1975, 1978-1980), California Angels (1976-1977), Baltimore Orioles (1977) and Seattle Mariners (1981). But there's a reason why Fenway fans loved to see him on the mound. In his 13-season career, Drago posted a 108-117 record with a 3.75 ERA and 58 saves in 519 appearances (189 as a starter). *** Drago played local youth baseball, culminating in being named a Connie Mack all-star. At Woodward H.S., *** lettered in basketball and bowling as well as baseball. It was in baseball, however, that he truly excelled; his varsity record was 18-3, which included two no-hitters as a senior. Although he did receive some attention from scouts, Dr ...
With the regular season set to get underway in less than 6 hours, here are my predictions for this year. American League East 1 - Tampa Bay Rays - No glaring weaknesses, just guys who love to play the game and give their all every single day. 2 - Boston Red Sox - Lost some key pieces, but will still put a really good product on the field, even without the beards. 3 - New York Yankees - Overpaid and overaged. Until they learn to produce their own talent, they will be mired in paying too much to get seats in the stands and hope for their championships to continue. 4 - Baltimore Orioles - Too little improvement over the offseason. Maybe they need a doctor who is not so strict. 5 - Toronto Blue Jays - Um, they're Canadian. What else can I say. American League CENTRAL 1 - Cleveland Indians - Chemistry is key and this team is following much of the mold of the Rays these days. Gonna prove that money does not necessarily win championships. 2 - Kansas City Royals - Finally they get back over the hump and while the ...

My fellow baseball fans...All jokes, disses, and trash-talking aside, I LOVE that teams like the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, and the Oakland A's are in the playoffs this year. I love that the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers were in the World Series last year and will be very good teams for years to come. I grew up in the era when these teams (except the Nationals) and others, like the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Kansas City Royals, routinely were great teams competing for the championship year in and year out. Yes I am a ride or die New York Yankees fan, but baseball needs this kind of competition, especially from teams that do not have the big budgets of the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, Angels, or Dodgers. This year reminds me of football where on any given Sunday and in any given Super Bowl any team can win. Wish Major League Baseball had the kind of salary cap of other sports because the contracts have long been out of control and is one of the main rea ...

After a lengthy rain delay, an offensive outburst from the Kansas City Royals allowed them to even their series against the Baltimore Orioles as they came out on top, 7-3.The Royals smashed four Home Runs on the evening, with Alex Gordon belting two, his eighth and ninth of the year
Butler leads Royals over Orioles 8-2 BALTIMORE (AP) — Billy Butler had already cleared the most difficult obstacles of hitting for the cycle, including a Home Run and his first triple since 2009. All he needed was a measly little single in his final two at-bats to become the seventh player in the history of the Kansas City Royals to complete the cycle. Butler fell short, but that was one of very few negatives for the Royals in an 8-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday night. Butler finished with three RBIs and scored three runs, and Alex Gordon homered and had three hits to help Kansas City end the Orioles’ five-game winning streak and take the luster off Manny Machado’s impressive Major League debut. Butler homered in a four-run first inning, doubled in the third and tripled in the fifth. Vying to become the first Kansas City player to hit for the cycle since George Brett in 1990, Butler struck out against Matt Lindstrom in the seventh and submariner Darren O’Day in the ninth. “I really ...

The one day is coming up that you absolutely do not bother me. Mark June 4th as the one day on the calender that I will isolate everything and everyone and have the doors sealed shut to my man cave and watch the 2012 MLB Draft. I feel sorry for the poor woman I get married to when she has to sit through and know that I will more than likely call out of work that day and not say a word to anyone or anything. The MLB Draft is basically my life on June 4th. With the first overall pick of the 2012 MLB Draft the Houston Astro's select Mark Appel out of Stanford University. With the second overall pick the Minnesota Twins draft Byron Buxton out of Appling County High School. With the Third Overall pick the Seattle Mariners draft Mike Zunino out of the University of Florida with the 4th overall pick the Baltimore Orioles draft Kevin Gausman out of Louisiana State University and with the 5th overall pick the Kansas City Royals select Kyle Zimmer out of University of San Francisco.

Hello everyone. Hope you all have a great day. In case you missed it last night: in the MLB, the Baltimore Orioles beat the Boston Red Sox 4-1. The New York Yankees beat the Kansas City Royals 3-2. The Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-2. The New York Mets beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2.
Does anyone remember when I said both the Washington Nationals an the Baltimore Orioles were one power hitter away from being contenders in their division? Look how great they both are playing and now imagine If one of them would have signed Prince. I also said Texas would still win the division despite all the players Anaheim signed. Look how that going. The only thing I've been off is that I said the Kansas City Royals would win their division but after a rocky start look how great they are playing. Won four in a row then lot last night in 15 innings. 15 people!! It feels great to be right and know what the *** you're talking about. Sorry Boston fans, I was right about you guys too.
Spent the day bussing public workers around to the waste water treatment plants in the area. Doesn't sound interesting but I learned some things. Last night, Kansas City Royals' relief pitcher Jonathan Broxton hit a batter to load the bases and then hit the next batter to win the game in the bottom of the 11th inning for the Oakland A's 5-4. It is the first time since Stu Miller of the 1966 Baltimore Orioles accomplished this feat. That's such a bizarre way to make the record books ...
