KALABA IS NEW CHIPOLOPOLO CAPATAIN. Chipolopolo midfield genius Rainford Kalaba is the new captain of the team. Kalaba has taken over from Stopilla Sunzu who has voluntarily relinquished the arm band, saying he wants to concentrate on his core responsibility as a defender for the team. Speaking at a brief handover ceremony in Coach Honour Janza's room this morning, Stopilla said he was grateful that he had been given such a big responsibility especially that his reign was during the qualifiers for the 2015 Africa Cup series. And new Skipper Rainford Kalaba emphasised the need for collective responsibility saying though he would be the one to wear the arm band he recognises that the other senior players are captains in their own right. Senior players present at this ceremony were James Chamanga, Kennedy Mweene, Vice captain Nathan Sinkala and Davies Nkausu. And coach Honour Janza says he is happy with the humility of Sunzu who has decided to put team interest above self, saying that his action is a true .. ...

The Post wrote: COURT STOPS FAZ'S LIFE BAN ON MTINE THE country representative of the DRC's TP Mazembe football team Andre Mtine has obtained an injunction in the Ndola High Court restraining the Football Association of Zambia from imposing a life ban on him. Last year, the Kalusha Bwalya-headed Football Association banned Mtine, a former FAZ treasurer and committee member, from all football activities for life over allegations that he was at the centre of the club versus country stand-off involving national team players, Nathan Sinkala, Stoppila Sunzu and Rainford, who at the time were playing for Lubumbashi-domiciled TP Mazembe. In this matter, Mtine submitted that he ceased to be a member of FAZ and has not held any position in the association since January 2012. He further submitted that he performs duties on behalf of TP Mazembe in Zambia and this involves handling the affairs of Zambian football players contracted to the club as part of his official duties. Kalu, Other African FA Presidents Cleared, Given Support as FIFA Condems Heartful British Media. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 The 36th ordinary Congress of CAF has condemned British media for what it called the bad faith and deep ignorance of FIFA bodies and its bias against African football leaders and urged the CAF Executive Committee to strongly consider taking legal action against publications that have published unsubstantiated claims against African football federation presidents. FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya was one of 30 African heads of national federations named by the British Sunday Times which claimed that the national African football bosses held sway over Africa’s votes in deciding World Cup hosts for 2018 and 2022 over their contacts with Bin Hammam. The Sunday Times has however failed to prove how the respective national presidents held sway the votes which saw England defeated and the World Cup hosting rights granted to Russia in 2018 and Qatar in 2022. In a communique released by CAF at the ...
AUDITOR GENERAL TO AUDIT FAZ AS A MATTER OF PRIORITY FOLLOWING KALUGATE SCANDAL AS CALLS FOR GREAT KALU'S RESIGNATION MOUNT AUDITOR General Anna Chifungula says her office will prioritise the audit of FAZ in view of the alleged Qatar corruption scandal involving Kalusha Bwalya. And football administrator Alex Mambwe has asked FAZ president Bwalya to resign on moral grounds. Bwalya allegedly received US$80,000 from former FIFA vice-president Mohammad Bin Hammam which he claims was a debt meant to help run the affairs of the Football Association of Zambia, but has refused to state whether the money was remitted to Football House. Chifungula yesterday said her office had taken interest in the revelations by the UK's Sunday Times that published Bwalya's emails to Bin Hammam, asking for money for the running of FAZ and his personal expenditure in 2009 and 2011. She said FAZ was normally audited in three to four years, but in the wake of the corruption allegations, her office would be forced to audit them as so ...
I took only US$50,000 … Kalusha: As Kambwili advises him to keep quiet Kalusha Bwalya FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya has admitted pocketing the money allegedly given to him by disgraced former FIFA vice president Qatar’s Mohammed Bin Hammam but claims it was a debt to be paid back amounting to US$50, 000 and not the US$80, 000 shown in email exchanges between the two parties. Yesterday, Kalusha told the Zambia Daily Mail allegations by the Sunday Times of the UK were “stupid and unfounded allegations. A statement quoting Kalusha on Lusaka Times said the article was a witchhunt; “Sour grapes. I don’t vote for World Cup bids. It’s done by the FIFA Executive Committee. “Don’t think even Bin Hammam was in Qatar bid. I remember we went there for Brazil versus Argentina friendly and there all kinds of people. From Europe, Africa and everywhere. “It must be a witch hunt by the people who lost the Bid.” But in a telephone interview with The Post from Tampa, Florida, Bwalya said the amount was in ...

Ex-Chipolopolo striker Dennis Lota dies: The Zambian football fraternity has been thrown into mourning following the death of ex-Chipolopolo striker Dennis Lota. The 40 year-old died of suspected malaria on Tuesday evening in South Africa, where he worked as an assistant coach at premier soccer league side Moroka Swallows. His former team-mate and now the president of the Football Association of Zambia, Kalusha Bwalya paid tribute to him, describing Lota as a team player, a humble and dedicated colleague who served his country with distinction. Former Zambia coach Patrick Phiri said Lota was a servant of Zambian football who sadly passed away at a time he was starting to scale the football coaching ladder. Lota played at four Africa Cup of Nations finals and won 79 caps for Chipolopolo and was part of the Zambian team that lost 2-1 to Nigeria at the 1994 AFCON finals hosted by Tunisia. At club level, he played for several Zambian sides, including Zanaco, Nchanga rangers, Kabwe Warriors and Konkola Blades. ...
DENNIS "D BREAKER" LOTA REST IN PEACE BIGMAN . In 2008, I compiled the following profile on you on behalf of Wikipedia. Dennis Lota (8 November 1973 – 4 February 2014) was a Zambian football striker. Before his death following a brief illness in 2014, he served as an assistant coach at South African football club Moroka Swallows. He started his professional career with Zanaco FC of Zambia in 1989 before leaving for Nchanga Rangers at the beginning of the 1991 season. At Nchanga Rangers he established a midfield partnership with Abeauty Kunda. He later left Nchanga to join Kabwe Warriors after a failed attempt to rejoin Zanaco. At Warriors, he never settled and left after one season to join Konkola Blades. It was at Konkala where the late brother to Kalusha Bwalya, Benjamin transformed Lota from a midfielder to a lethal striker who went on to win the golden boot in 1995 and later became a strong target for international clubs. A contractual conflict later emerged between FC Sion and Dangerous Aces with e ...

Uche had tones and tones of money. But it's a tradition to donate to the dead. People loved Uche and gave a lot of money towards funeral.
Mosimane looking forward to Zambia camp Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he hopes to get a taste of real Zambian football in its heart on the Copperbelt. Sundowns are in Zambia on a week-long mid-season training camp that will see them play in a four-club invitational tournament involving two local sides Power Dynamos and Zesco United and DR Congo side Bon Bosco. Mosimane said at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola upon arrival from South Africa on Friday, that the visit was a gesture of the contribution notable Zambian players have made to the club. "We know where we are in Zambia with the history of Zambia on the Copperbelt and what the Copperbelt has done for Zambian football. We dont have to look far - the president the Zambia Football Association (Kalusha Bwalya) is from here, Mosimane said. 32 of the 51 Zambian league titles have been won by Copperbelt teams led by Nkana on 12 followed by Kalusha's ex club Mufulira Wanderers with nine while Power have won the crown six times. "We are here to ...
WHO SAYS AFRICA DOESN'T HAVE TALENT? The passing away of Eusebio reminded me how Europeans have taken advantage of our poor African countries. Africa produce some of the best in the world , but go on to raise European flags. Look at these great players who never played for their African countries: Eusebio, Zidane, Marcel Desailly, Patrick Vierra, Sean Dundee, Danny Wekbeck, Mario Balotelli etc In addition we were lucky to have been represented by the likes of: Eto'o, George Weah, Samuel Kuffour, Abedi Pele Ayew, Mohammed Aboutrika, Kalusha Bwalya, Didier Drogba, Jay-jay Okocha, El Hadji Diuf, Lucas Radebe, Phil Masinga etc.

WE ARE GEARED FOR BATTLE AGAINST RECORD World Cup WINNERS - GREAT KALU In a first-ever historic match which he has described as the highest profile encounter in Zambia's soccer history, FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya says Chipolopolo is geared to give a good account of Zambian football against the five time World Cup winners on Tuesday night in Beijing. "I might be wrong but I think this is the highest profile friendly match Zambia has ever played in its entire history," Kalusha told fazfootball.com adding: "Its an honor and privilege to play the record World Cup winners; the current champions of the FIFA Confederations Cup who are among the favorites to win the 2014 FIFA World Cup which they will host." Zambian Sports Minister featured in tv ads promoting the Cosafa Cup (see pic). Why not Kalusha Bwalya?
The president of the Confederation of Southern African Football Associations (Cosafa) has given short shrift to the idea that the game is more developed in West and North Africa than in his own region. Suketu Patel has told BBC Sport, "it's quite the reverse". Patel was speaking from Zambia, host of this year's Cosafa Cup. The southern African regional football championship started on Saturday and ends on 20 July. It is a widely held notion among fans and pundits alike that Northern Africa produces the best teams, the West the finest players, the East rests on former glories while the South has achieved very little. For instance, only South Africa and Angola have ever been to the World Cup finals and Zambia's Kalusha Bwalya remains the only player from the region to be named CAF African Footballer of the Year (1988). South Africa and Zambia are the only two countries from the 15-nation bloc to have won the Africa Cup of Nations. Whilst players from the West and North continue to make waves in Europe's big ...
Nigeria's epic clash with Uruguay and the Fifa World Cup qualifiers take centre stage on Soccer Africa tonight with Sizwe Mabena, Thomas Kwenaite, Kalusha Bwalya, Emeka Enyadike and Jeff Katala
Zambia president Kalusha Bwalya has warned Ghana that they will defeat the Black Stars in Kumasi when the two sides clash for a place in the 2014 World Cup qualifying playoffs in September.
Kalusha Bwalya on his face book page wrote I couldn't sleep last night.Saturday afternoons' 'Must-win' (Zambia vs Sudan World Cup 2014 Qualifier) match that we drew 1-1 to, had me tossing and turning all night long. All the shots at goal replayed in my mind, all the missed chances, life changing opportunities lost.what is it, I asked? what is it that is the game changer? Is the once in a lifetime opportunity to go to a World Cup not enough of an incentive? I would've given anything to be in their places on Saturday.two decades too late I suppose. I tossed and turned all night. What is it that takes you that Milli second further...that ONE goal, that could turn you from an African Team to a global phenomenon??? My conclusion and opinion??. The lack of 'KILLER INSTINCT'. This trait is not necessarily born into players. Some are born with it. others can be trained to have it. I believe this is something we need to focus on going forward. Every game we play, we need to bleed a little more to truly become the ...
Dear Super Eagles of Nigeria, I'm happy to write you this letter. The Zambia national football team was founded in 1929 & joined FIFA in 1964.It is governed by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ)& nicknamed chipolopolo (copper bullets)The team has two African nations cup final appearances to it's credit & among it's most memorable 4-0 victory over Italy in the 1988 Olympic tournament in Seoul south korea that saw Kalusha Bwalya score a hat-trick.The team first recorded it's highest FIFA ranking in February 1996 at 15 while it's lowest ranking was in may2004 at 80.currently Zambia is ranked at 45 while recorded a major history in 2012 after winning a continental trophy in Gabon.Zambia has never featured at a global tournament making tomorrows match against Sudan a must win game to feather history as it strive to feature at the World Cup in Brazil 2014.Zambia is leading group D at 10 points while Ghana is following closely at 9 points,Sudan 4 points while the mourning Lesotho is bottom at 1 point. This shows that Zambia national football team has made significant pr . ...

flash back How the Copper Bullets of Zambia wrote one of sport's great stories on Sunday Daily Mirror, UK - Chris Elastiico This was no fluke victory. The Chipolopolo, or Copper Bullets, had overcome both Senegal and Ghana in style on their way to final. The inspiration for their victory was clear: upon Zambia's first return to Libreville, the scene of the air-crash which wiped-out a generation of the national side 20 years ago, the current generation have built the greatest legacy possible. In one of the most touching moments of the final, Zambian coach Hervé Renard gave his winners medal to Zambian FA president Kalusha Bwalya, who only survived the fateful crash as he was playing for PSV Eindhoven at the time and therefore making his own way to the match in Senegal. Bwalya has been as key to this year's success as anyone else. The success of Zambia at this year's Cup of Nations will be remembered for these emotional factors that inspired the side to greatness, yet this must not obscure the root cause o ...
This Message is intended for Mamadou and all soccer fans interested in the Mamadou Vs Zambia Saga. I must start by saying I used to be a Mamdou fan, in fact I think I still am, coz I would like to see him back on TV. There has been rumours that Mamadou has been suspended, but that Super sport reserve the right to call him back as and when need arises. My thoughts on this are that Mamadou must be allowed to return to Supersport and to soccer Africa. I have read some reports in which Mamdou is said to have justified his negative attitude against Zambia on the basis of the build up matches, and his condemnation of Kalusha Bwalya on the basis of Kalu's alleged campaign for Issah Hayatou at the last convention. In effect disqualifying Mamadou's country man from contesting the seat. On this basis I think Mamadou has every right to hate Kalu, he has every right to further dislike the Chipolopolo boys because they denied his team CIV the cup in 2012. He has every right to have a personal vendetta against both. Bu ...
League title and cups are ours - Chilumba TENANT CHILUMBA, the new FC Platinum coach, is bullish ahead of the forthcoming 2013 season. "I am happy that I have been appointed as the new coach of FC Platinum and I have an objective of winning a silverware and the league title. I can't play in the league without objectives and I am happy that FC Platinum's executive is much organised and I do not have any pressure from them. "I am not building a team but I am coaching a team," said Chilumba. The former Hwange coach is very happy that he has been welcomed by the FC Platinum players and executive. Chilumba has also established a good working relationship with former interim coach Tendai Chikuni. Chilumba, who is a legend in his native country Zambia, retired from playing for Chipolopolo in 2006. He made a name for himself at Kabwe Warriors and played alongside Kalusha Bwalya and the two are the only survivors of the Gabon crash in 1993 that took away the lives of the Zambian national team players. I decided to school the Ememaro Peter Isoko-United Ataiku and Sesan Eko on the Super eagles of 1994 and to make us know we really were not that great then either. second most entertaining team is scarce solace when the only teams you beat Bulgaria and Greece had never won a World Cup game before then and losing to Italy and Argentina which are the real scalps. It was "God abeg" we used to qualify for the World Cup needing last day draw in Algeria (finidi scoring) in a match many called "fix" cos Algeria was already out. Also beating a third eleven Zambia (all their top 20 plus players died that previous year in a plane crash except Kalusha Bwalya. It was a hurriedly picked team) in the final after penalty win agst an Oman Ben Sallah less Cote D'Ivoire in semis, lucky 2:1 win against a Zaire that almost killed us in the Quarter final, draw with Egypt in group stage and 2:1 win over an old Jules Bocande Senegal is not as SUPER as we think. 1994 Super eagles got to second round but so did 1998 Super eagles . ...
MAMADOU SUSPENDED Supersport International has suspended controversial soccer analyst Mamadou Gaye following a complaint by ‘powerful’ FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya and other officials from the Confederations of African Football. Mamadou was blunt about Zambia’s dubious penalty against Nigeria on January 25 calling it “bogus” and a “shame” to the standards of officiating in Africa. The Ivorian commentator, one of the most popular penalist on SuperSport, accused Kalusha – a CAF executive committee member – of being a blue-eyed boy of Issa Hayatou while on set. Mamadou alleged that Kalusha’s closeness to Hayatou – the longtime CAF president – had earned Chipolopolo some favour from referees. Zambia were gifted a rather controversial penalty in a Group C fixture against Nigeria which leveled scorers at 1-all with goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene stepping up to expertly convert the spot and *** a point for the team. Mamadou, who was in the Randburg Studio in South Africa form match analysis .. ...
2013 Afcon: The king, the kingmakers, the bridesmaid and the underdogs THE KINGS OF AFRICA “I'm sure the boys up there will be watching on Sunday,” were the words of Zambian legend and president of the Football Association, Kalusha Bwalya, ahead of the 2012 African Nation’s Cup final. Those simple words were drenched with emotion and a history of sorrow. Those words told a story of one of football’s biggest tragedies. True to his words the boys from the 1993 plane crash watched the game from up there. All 18 of them and as Chris Katongo led the Chipolopolo to do the Haka after the last penalty lick, they probably joined in. THE REIGNING CHAMPIONS These gallant Zambia players had fulfilled their dream after downing the Drogba-led Elephants. The Chipolopolo were now the Kings of Africa, joining the illustrious list of nations to ascend this all powerful throne. Now after just a year of ruling Africa they are back to try to defend their crown. The heroes of 2012 are back. The team is intact with the ...
PETITION TO CAF FOR ZAMBIA TO PLAY 2013 CONFEDERATIONS CUP IN BRAZIL! I have received numerous requests from Chipolopolo lovers for us to petition CAF to allow Zambia to play the Confederations Cup in Brazil next year or still play the winners of the AfCON 2013 for the right to represent the continent. Whilst I agree with the sentiments that it is unfair for Zambia not to represent Africa in Brazil next year, I feel the petition CANNOT work unless FAZ had protested to CAF at the right time. Herve Renard took a swipe at CAF over Zambia not being given chance to compete in Brazil. FAZ does not seem to challenge any CAF decision which inimical to Zambia's interests. We have the FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya who is part of the executive committee of CAF. What is important is for fans to seek audience with Mr Bwalya so that he clears the air on these contentious issues. For that reason, I regret to say I cannot be part of this petition because it is pointless. I would have loved to see Zambia participate in Bra ...
I was wondering what has happened to the golden years of African football. African Cup of Nations was our World Cup. It was a carnival of sort and is with so much fanfare and expectation, boy it was real fun to watch. Mbesuma tells President Sata, am King David Top striker Collins Mbesuma this afternoon told Republican President Michael Sata that his new name was King David and had stopped being identified as Ntonfontofo or Air Force One. This was at the Chipolopolo team hotel in Mbombela when President Sata went to meet and encourage Zambia ahead of their title defense opener against Ethiopia on Monday. After remarks by FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya and the Republican head of state had spoken, master of ceremonies Erick Mwanza invited President Sata to meet the players. When Mbesuma got his turn to introduce himself, the Orlando Pirates striker said: "Mr President My name is King David". This drew a pause from the President who requested Mbesuma to introduce himself again. Said President Sata: "Your name is what? You're Kind David?" Mbesuma responded: "Yes am King David Collins Mbesuma," to the delight of his colleagues who cheered him. Mbesuma says his change of nickname is a reflection of the transformation he says h ...
Zambia have cancelled a final warm-up game against Namibia that would have been played on Tuesday in Nelspruit. Namibia Football Association (NFA) president John Muinjo said in a statement that the friendly was cancelled following consultations with his Zambian counterpart Kalusha Bwalya. “They (Zambia) are citing a strenuous scheduling as the reason for the cancellation of the January 15 friendly in Nelspruit and Kalusha has indicated this to me," Muinjo said. "Their coach wants the final week before the Nations Cup to be used as a winding down period.” The development means Zambia's friendly at home against Norway on December 12 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola will be Herve Renard’s teams’ final warm-up game. Zambia have so far played four build-up matches, losing three and drawing one. And the African champions will fly from Johannesburg straight into Ndola at midday Friday together with opponents Norway, who are fresh from a 1-0 win over 2013 Africa Cup hosts South Africa on Tuesday in Cape ...

African champion stars go through intensive and difficult phase With three weeks before the 2013 Nations Cup gets underway, African champions Zambia are nearing completion of what Kalusha Bwalya and Herve Renard reckon has been an intense and difficult opening training period for the players. The reigning kings of African football commenced the final phase of Nations Cup preparations on December 27 with twice daily sessions at their 'home' base of Johannesburg. The sessions have been intensive but the players have responded positively with great determination, hard work and commitment. Speaking to fazfootball.com at the end of Saturday morning training, Renard said: "Training is intense and difficult for the players this week because we are having two sessions each day including weekends. This we will do both on Saturday and Sunday and the new year eve. But the guys are strong, they know what we want to do and achieve and the level we want to reach for us to compete." "Everyone is responding well," the 20 ...

FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya says Zambia’s 0-1 loss to Tanzania was a good but tough match in which the Chipolopolo were unlucky not to score a goal. The FAZ chief says on the FAZ official website, today, that Tanzania were worthy winners as they grabbed what he called a well taken goal and were determined against an Africa champion squad which commences its final preparations for the 2013 continental soccer show piece on 26 December in Johannesburg. Said Kalusha: “The match against Tanzania was a good practice match. It was a tough encounter but in the end a very good training game.” Added the FAZ chief: “I thought our boys did well for long moments and were just unlucky not to have gotten a goal ourselves. Credit to the Taifa Stars for their determination and well taken goal.” “Most importantly, the match provided Herve Renard a good opportunity to see more boys in action before naming his 26 man squad to prepare for the Africa Cup finals,” Kalusha said. Sunzu ‘robbed’, Kalu protests 0--By FELIX MALUNGA THE erroneous awarding of the 2012 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Africa-based Player-of-the-Year accolade to Chipolopolo star defender, Stoppila Sunzu and its subsequent reversal has upset Zambian legend Kalusha Bwalya. Sunzu was initially declared winner of the annual award ahead of compatriot Rainford Kalaba and Egyptian veteran, Mohamed Aboutreika during Glo-CAF Awards Gala in Accra, Ghana on Thursday night but the decision was later reversed.
30-minute show for Friday kicked off with a report from Accra by Kwabena "Quicksilver" Ofori on the Glo-CAF Awards. Kwabena included audio from African Footballer of the Year Yaya Touré + former winners Didier Drogba and Kalusha Bwalya. There's also lots of other soccerlicious stuff! Happy listening and happy holidays!
Former African Footballer of the year Kalusha Bwalya described what happened at the Glo / CAF awards gala in Ghana as crazy after he saw Chipolopolo strong man Stophira Sunzu presented with the award but later stripped of it because there was a mistake. Sunzu, who was basking in the limelight after being crowned as the best player based in Africa for the year 2012 got a shock when the nominees were called back towards the end of the ceremony and the show hosts apologized for the mistake and they stripped him of his title and relegated the towering AFCON gold medalist to 3rd position in his category.
Latest from CAF Awards - Stopilla Sunzu announced as African Player of the year (playing in Africa). Towards the end of the show the MC's came back on the stage to apologise that they had made a mistake that the winner is Abroutrika. "It seems like a conspiracy" said Kalusha Bwalya.

Kalusha Bwalya wrote: "African Football has become completely unpredictable. In no other continent, do rankings mean so little. FIFA rankings can be so easily misleading because friendly matches also count and as such FA’s with larger budgets can afford more significant high profile friendlies earning them false increased grading. My opinion is that rankings should only be calculated through official qualifying International matches. If one were to use rankings as a true measure for grading of teams, how do you explain the likes of Ethiopia ranked 33rd and Niger ranked 42nd in Africa qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations over Egypt, Senegal and Cameroon? Teams brimming with International Stars?" Couldn't agree more; England in top 5 in the world?
The Football Association of Zambia says they have accepted their South African counterparts’ apology over the unsavoury incident that followed Wednesday night’s Nelson Mandela Challenge. Chipolopolo won the match at Soccer City 1-0 thanks to Collins Mbesuma’s thunderous goal, but then had their team bus stoned as they left the venue, leading to minor injuries for Felix Katongo and Kennedy Mweene. Two youth were arrested over the incident, and now Zambia FA president Kalusha Bwalya has weighed in, saying: “Let us put this incident behind us for the good of football.” *Mzansi 4sho*

Good results are a result of excellent FAZ leadership Government says the continued good run and success of the Chipolopolo is down to the excellent administration and FAZ leadership headed by soccer legend Kalusha Bwalya. And government says Zambia's successes and the leadership's emphasis on discipline, hard work and commitment demonstrates that these values cannot be compromised. Addressing the African champion squad at FNB Stadium soon after Chipolopolo won the 2012 Nelson Mandela Challenge on Wednesday night, Sports deputy minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu said: "Congratulation s on this wonderful victory. Am pleased that we have yet again qualified for the Africa Cup of nations in South Africa but a little bit worried that we were outplayed by Uganda;luck was on ourside.FAZ and the technical bench should arrange for a lot of friendly matches btwn now & January,if Kalaba is not in the team our midfied suffers; Sinkala is a defensive midfieder while kalaba is an attacking midfieder,so if he isn't there the team lacks a person to supply the balls! There is need to produce another play maker in our team who will also raise to the occassion when the chips are down and score important goals even if we have been outplayed. The way Kalusha Bwalya used to do it. One day lady luck would not be on ourside; or is it because God is a Zambian. Congratulations once again to our gallant boys!! South Africa here we come!!!
Nigeria versus Liberia: Now that Liberia has lost, for the next few days, we will see and heard all of the so-called outside coaches, witches, haters and anti-developer claiming to have all of the answers to Lone Star's and Liberia's football program. What kind of country is this, where everybody sits and allow the worst before they make suggestions, especially when are a targeting a specific person or an institution. Let post this question out, would Liberia qualified if we had George Weah, Technical Director and James Salinsa Debbah Head Coach? Nigeria's Coach is Stephen Keshi, does that add any value to the players performance? Why is it that our former football greats are the only ones who dont want to follow their God given gift of football, but waiting for political offices? Kalusha Bwalya · 37,017 like this Wednesday at 6:05pm · When the last final whistle blows I remember the first thing I bought when I received my first professional pay cheque in Belgium – it was a shiny black Golf GTI (Big deal in those days!). I spent every cent I earned every month. The last of my worries was my tomorrow. In fact during the three and a half years I spent in Belgium, I did not save a cent and I did not study anything. I thought the school of life, was enough. As players we are used to instant results, we play a game; we win, draw or lose. The results are there for all to see after the game. Salaries are high, we live for the moment, and thinking of the future is for the future. Problem is that football careers do not last forever. Our window of earning opportunity is short. I knew that after football I wanted to still be involved in football and as such I made sure I took coaching to the highest possible level by achieving a UEFA 'A' license to enable me to understand the technical s ...

Greetings friends and to you SAFA, I would like to thank you for choosing Zambia to play against Bafana Bafana this year for the Nelson Mandela Challenge cup 2012, and I hope Zambi shall win. I will tell Kalusha Bwalya not to humiliate the team and that the score should be reasonable for three reasons. Firstly because we likw the way South Africans treat Zambians and all foreigners . Secondly because everyone in Zambia is ANC and lastly and most important of them all is that everyone in Zambia loves Tata Mandela.
