Psl Soccercupdates| Latest News Was Khune fit for Chan, Mr Chairman? No comment Kaizer Chiefs chairman, Kaizer Motaung, has refuted a claim made in a Sunday newspaper that he questioned the injury suffered by Itumeleng Khune during the 2014 Chan African Nations Championship. Bafana Bafana coach, Gordon Igesund, didn't use Khune for the team's last match against Nigeria because of the supposed injury, and in fact used Moeneeb Josephs instead. The national team lost the game 3-1 and crashed out of the tournament. Amakhosi's supremo explained to the club's official website, “The journalist called me to ask about Khune' injury during Chan. I told him that all what I know is that Khune was declared fit to play for Chiefs upon his return to the club after Chan." “I refused to comment about what happened at Bafana Bafana as I am not involved in the player’s issues at that level. I do not like to be drawn in this saga.”
When Orlando Pirates Football Club announced the romping in of former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Roger De Sa as coach, i was not impressed. The big Bucs fan, Mashudu Owen Mundalamo can even attest to our chat that we had when RDS traded the Bidvest Wits tracksuit for an Orlando Pirates suit. There has never been doubts to me in the acknowledgement of Roger De Sa and Pitso Mosimane as some of the best coaches making their great progress in SA football. However, to me, Roger has not reached the level where he can be entrusted with leading a ship of Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates stature. The same goes for Mosimane and Cavin Johnson. Good gaffers but not enough to be in the Bucs or Chiefs hotseat. I believe Steve Komphela is better than the guys i have mentioned. Kaizer Motaung once said no local coaches were good enogh for the Big Two although i still believe Gavin Hunt and Gordon Igesund are some of the notable names that can crack the nod at the Soweto giants. Even when RDS outdid himself driving Bucs to ...
Gordon Igesund expects to have players from Kaizer Chiefs in his South Africa camp on Sunday. Chiefs have been reluctant to release goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, defenders Tsepo Masilela and Tefu Mashamaite, midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala and striker Bernard Parker until the knockout stages after their January 23 meeting with Mamelodi Sundowns. But after a series of meetings between the SAFA, the PSL and Chiefs, the latest on Saturday, Igesund says he expects the AmaKhosi players to be released. “The talks have been very positive, later on today I will hear the full status but the Chiefs players will hopefully be arriving on Sunday, I expect them to be here,” Igesund said at a press conference on Saturday. “I want to offer my thanks to Chiefs and [owner] Kaizer Motaung in particular for assisting in this regard.” Igesund has a full compliment of players from the rest of the team in camp, bar Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs who is in Cape Town, but the Bafana technical team have not been able ...

SUPERPORT United have entered the club versus country debacle! Their coach Cavin Johnson wants a meeting with Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund to sort out the emerging club versus country tug of war. Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates have raised concerns about their players suffering from exhaustion after a long season. Said Johnson: “The release of players is always a problem. I will talk to the national coach to see if we can come to an agreement. “I don’t have a problem with their release if we reach a common ground. If you look at countries that are currently competing in the Confed Cup majority of players played over 50 games for their respective clubs and how they manage it is crucial,” Johnson added. Chiefs boss Kaizer Motaung had a heated exchange of words with Igesund over the release of Amakhosi players to compete in the Cosafa Cup in Zambia from 6 to 21 July. Igesund will today name players to replace Eric Mathoho, Tefu Mashamaite, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Siphiwe Ts ...

Bobby: Chiefs' players given the green light to play in Cosafa Cup Chiefs green light follows the challenge that usually faces the Bafana national team when clubs fail to release players to participate in the Cosafa Cup. The tournament is not part of the Fifa calendar and for many years it has been used as a stepping stone for players who want to maintain or get into the national team. This previously gave the under-23 players a chance to blood into the senior team, but Gordon Igesund made it clear that he is not coaching the under-23 squad. Motaung said that his boys who are called for the national team will go, since they have done their job for Kaizer Chiefs this season. “They have done the job for us, and if they wish to go and play for the national team, we are more than happy to let them go,” said Motaung. He said he is even happy that his team will be representing the country once again, because it is not merely about Kaizer Chiefs. “They are all more than welcome to go and I am honestly prou ...

Kaizer Motaung must write an urgent letter to Gordon Igesund and ask him why should Chiefs bother to release its players to play for this Mampara team again. Our players always come back injured from National Duty. Our players always do all the work while these one's from useless teams usually contribute nothing.
Thank you Gavin Hunt, you've once again proven that local is leaker. Why can't Kaizer Motaung see this? Gordon Igesund is another legend in our lifetime.
