This is amazing! Big League Stew Corey Kluber throws 85-pitch shutout in historic matchup with Felix Hernandez Mark Townsend By Mark Townsend 5 hours ago Big League Stew Despite trading Justin Masterson to the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday afternoon, the Cleveland Indians still have a legitimate ace on their roster. His name is Corey Kluber, and he continued to cement his ace status with a dominant and historic outing against the Seattle Mariners. The 28-year-old right-handed needed only 85 pitches to throw his first career complete game shutout, and that incredible efficiency put him in elite company. Corey Kluber threw an 85-pitch shutout tonight against Seattle. Only the seventh blanking on 85 or fewer pitches since turn of millennium. — Jeff Passan (July 31, 2014 The previous six: Aaron Cook (81), Jeff Karstens (83), Aaron Cook (79), Rich Harden (81), Roy Halladay (83), Jon Lieber (78). Cleveland Indians trade pitcher Justin Masterson to St. Louis Cardinals for ... - Akron Beacon Journal
The Cleveland Indians are reportedly open to entering trade talks involving starting pitcher Justin Masterson, who could be targeted by the Chicago Cubs, according to a report from a league source last week.
Indians, Orioles, Nationals -- all my teams are winners! Sure, it's only a game and just one of many to come but masterful Justin Masterson pitched 7 scoreless innings as the Cleveland Indians beat Oakland last night, the O's topped Grady Sizemore (and the other Red Sox) and the Nats won over the Mets. Surely, one of these teams will be in the World Series.
My MLB Predictions AL Central 1. Detroit Tigers - Miguel Cabrera will have a Triple Crown Caliber Year. Verlander will have Cy Young year. Scherezer was one year wonder and I predict he gets 10 wins at best. Unfortunately with the loss of Iglesias and aging of Hunter and Martinez, Detroit will not get as many wins as they would like, but enough to take home the central. 2. Cleveland Indians - I Really Like there team this year. They have an all star caliber lineup with a great coaching staff. Unfortunately, Justin Masterson is not an ace Pitcher, but thankfully the hitting will make up for that. That's why they get second. 3. Kansas City Royals - Best Team in the League in 3 or 4 years. They aren't developed enough yet to be a contender in the post season. 4. Chicago White Sox - Don't expect too much fro them, they just started re-building 5. Minnesota Twins - I Don't really know what happend to these guys, they were awesome 4 years ago. It's time for Gardenhire and company to go
30 for 30 tonight is the Cleveland Indians: The Indians were one of the surprise teams in the MLB last season the question is can they do it again in 2014. The target will be on their backs this season along with the Detroit Tigers. The Tribe got some great starting pitching last season but the losses of Scott Kazmir and Ubaldo Jimenez will leave people questioning if they can repeat the tremendous season they had in 2013. The rotation this year should be Justin Masterson, Danny Salazar, Josh Tomlin, Corey Kluber and Zach McCallister Aaron Harang or Nick Hagadone should be good. The signing of John Axford should be good at closer. Offensively they should score a lot of runs once again, they are led by Michael Brantley Jason Kipnis Asdrubal Cabrera Nick Swisher and Carlos Santana if they stay healthy they should push the Motor City Kitties for the division title once again. I will call for the Indians to finish 2nd with a record of 90-72
This is information from Kyle Gibson regarding his skills camp. This is a great opportunity to get personal instruction from MLB all-stars. I am excited to be able to announce a few more details about the camp in November that will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Hancock County. The camp as you know is Saturday, November 23rd, and the location at this point will be Greenfield Central High School at Molinder field. In the case of inclement weather, it will be at the Dream Big Baseball Facility on Fortville Pike south of I-70. We are very grateful for them opening their doors in case of bad weather! It will be a general skills camp for kids ages 6-14. We will split them up into 2 different groups with ages 10-14 from 9am-12pm, and ages 6-9 at 1:30pm-4:30pm. The price of this camp will be $45 with all proceeds going to the B&G. Helping me with the camp at this point will be Justin Masterson of the Cleveland Indians, Alex Meyer who is a top prospect with the Minnesota Twins, and many other past and present c ...

Congrats to former Aztec Justin Masterson for clinching the playoff berth for the Cleveland Indians
Dear Bay Area In Write Field supporters and loyalists: I was just setting up my DVR to record tomorrow's Cleveland Indians game, and couldn't find it on the usual MLB package channels. That's because it's on KTVUD Fox channel 2 'round here. Have no idea why. Is this a national game? Has the lowly Tribe finally ARRIVED? I cannot watch live, as I will be sitting in an acrylic smock in a downtown salon, getting woozy on the smell of ammonia while having my roots attended to. (Priorities!) But if you can, please take advantage of this rare chance to see my guys on TV for free. We need the good vibrations, peeps. The AL wild card race is crazy tight. FYI Chicago native Jason Kipnis is my favorite little Indian. (Chicago is PRACTICALLY Cleveland, right?) But that Justin Masterson is nice too. And Michael Brantley. And Yan Gomes. And...
