Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, Kate Bush, Paloma Faith, Jeff Lynne and hundreds more have proved so much to me -
But, if I had been born earlier, Jim Morrison's death, John Lennon's death, and Freddie Mercury's death would have completely broken me.
I posted this response on someone else's thread but I thought I'd post it again when I decided to share... Freddie Mercury, Elvis, Jim Morrison, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash and Bob Marley. Plus I'd love to have Terry Kath, John Denver and Tommy Bolin back too even though they're not pictured. In exchange they can take, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Kanye, Britney Spears, and at least two or three dozen of today's "pop, rock, hip hop stars". They can even have American Idol and all it's stars too.
The world needs more musicians/ writers like: Bob Marley, Kurt Cobain, Freddie Mercury , Johnny Cash, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Ronnie Van Zant , Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison!!! Heaven must sound so good. Better than what we got here

Add Elvis Presley, John Lennon (The Beatles), David Bowie, Freddie Mercury (Queen), James Hetfield, Sully Erna (Godsmack), Ronnie Van Zant (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Frank Zappa, Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Jason Newsted (Metallica, and yes, Jason now fronts and sings for his own band aswell as plays bass despite being the former bassist for Metallica), Ringo Starr (The Beatles), Bill Ward (Black Sabbath, yes Bill sang on two Sabbath songs, It's Alright and Swinging The Chain and also he has has quite a few nice songs in his solo career) Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Pride And Glory and Ozzy Osbourne). Corey Taylor (Slipknot and Stone Sour) That is my ultimate Rock/Metal Vocalist Pantheon
Tupac, John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, and Elvis are sitting in Brian Jones' basement smoking sheesha and drinking turkish coffee
As I listen to my music on my other system I just feel sad at times for all the good musicians that have passed. John Lennon, Peter Steele, Dimebag Darrel, Tim Kelly, Kurt Cobain, Lou Reed, Trevor Bolder, Clive Burr, Donna Summers, Davy Jones, Etta James, Ronnie James Dio, Jani Lane, Amy Winehouse, Freddie Mercury and so many more that have touched my life. They left the world with great music but left to soon. May they all be resting in peace.

33 years ago John Lennon was gunned down outside his home in New York . Remember the day well. I went to see Queen that evening dressed in black with Jayne Hill and Freddie Mercury sang Imagine . Still brings me out in goosebumps thinking about it .
Almost finished the last request of this year, my Christmas commission of the little boy, been a challenge this one but that's just what I like. Then I'm back onto completing my 'Legends Never Die' artwork with John Lennon, Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury and Jimi Hendrix to complete before a final upload showing the whole artwork in its entirety :) - Siân-Louise X

John Lennon - Hologram Museum To Open In London Thursday, October 17, 2013 Rock fans will get the chance to perform 'live' with dead heroes including John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Freddie Mercury and Kurt Cobain when a hologram museum opens in London. Bosses of the Music Hall of Fame in Camden, north London are planning to use the latest technology to create lifelike 3D images of some of the world's most famous late and living stars. Visitors will then be able to join their favourite musician for a performance, which will be recorded onto Dvd for posterity. The innovative idea was sparked after a hologram of dead rapper Tupac Shakur was used during a performance by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre at last year's (12) Coachella festival in California. The project's manager Lee Bennett tells the London Evening Standard, "You could be transported back to a specific moment of music or play with artists who are no longer alive, even playing back-to-back with a hologram.
New Music Hall of Fame museum in London to feature Freddie Mercury and John Lennon holograms
Just imagine a band of all the amazing musicians who are now dead i.e. Freddie Mercury, Hendrix, John Lennon, John Bonham etc
I just realized that for me to attend a rock concert, quite a few resurrections have to be in order, the most notable one being Freddie Mercury. The Beatles would require an even bigger miracle because both John Lennon and George Harrison have to be resurrected AND they'd have to be convinced to put the band back together. There are quite a few that are still alive but have split up like Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits and others still together but every single one of them is too old. It would only look sad. Today's music scene just isn't mine.
THIS OR THAT (classic rock version) 1: Touch Roger Daltrey or Robert Plant's hair? 2: Dancing in the street with *** Jagger or David Bowie? 3: Egg houses with the Doors or go on a panty raid with Pink Floyd? 4: Vacuum with Freddie Mercury in drag or have a photo shoot with Keith Moon in drag? 5: Spend a night in jail with Keith Richards or Jim Morrison? 6: Kiss Ringo Starr's nose or Pete Townshend's nose? 7: Trip acid with Jimi Hendrix or Syd Barrett? 8: Spend your afternoon trying to make Bob Dylan or Morrissey smile? 9: Have a sleepover with Lou Reed and Iggy Pop or David Bowie and Marc Bolan? 10: Be sung to sleep by the Mamas & the Papas or the Beach Boys? 11: Crash a Sweet 16 with Nirvana or have an anti-prom with Radiohead? 12: Feel Frank Zappa's mustache or David Gilmour's hair? 13: Have a water balloon fight with the Who or a snowball fight with the Beatles? 14: What the sunrise with Art Garfunkel or watch the sunset with Paul Simon? 15: Babysit for John Lennon or David Gilmour? 16: Tear down a wa ...

Need I explain the appeal of bad *** rock-stars with oodles of attitude and smashed or burned guitars on stage? Picture Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplis, *** Jagger, Roger Daltrey, Freddie Mercury, Bono, The Edge, Pete Townshend, Axle Rose, Donald Fagen, Walter Becker, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Steve Tyler, Johnny Rotten, and, of course, the wannabes. John Lennon did not have to have an attitude to be awesome. IMO.
If I hear another JB fan say he's better than John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, Steve Perry, or Kurt Cobain, I will punch them back to daycare.

Johnny Cash, John Lennon, Joey Ramone, Dee Dee Ramone, Freddie Mercury, Ronnie James Dio, Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Joe Strummer & the list goez on. Though they are gone their music will alwayz live in the hearts of thoze of us who were inspired by them. To all my brothers & sisters in the music scene, play every song, every set, no matter who the crowd be or what the circumstances, like it iz the greatest honor you have been given. Though we all come & go the music will alwayz remain.
Freddie Mercury, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Jon Bon Jovi, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Axl Rose. Love all of you so much.
Sometimes I wonder what music would be like today if we hadn't of lost Marc Bolan, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Michael Hutchence and Freddie Mercury so very young. While there are many more I could have listed, these 7 absolute legends were so influential, inspiring, creative and talented. The world today would be different and its hard to understand how different because they're gone. Not only the music they would have created, but the future musicians they could have inspired. We have missed out on so much and it is sad. I miss them and I thank them for what they gave for their very brief lives, but I still wonder.
The Seattle grunge scene that transformed rock in the '90s produced four great voices, but the most distinct among them belonged to Alice in Chains' Layne Staley. Nirvana's Kurt Cobain deeply understood musical dynamics and could simultaneously scream and sing a melody in a way that few others could—think of John Lennon's searing lead vocal performance on "Twist and Shout." Soundgarden's Chris Cornell wailed and hit high notes, putting him at times in Robert Plant or Freddie Mercury territory. Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder combined a Jim Morrison-style natural baritone range with other punk and rock influences. But Staley sounded like no one else. His ability to project power and vulnerability in his vocals, as well as the unique and complementary harmonies he created when singing with Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell, made for a style that would get copied for years after Alice in Chains became a household name.
I'm so jealous 'cause at the 60's they had John Lennon, at the 70's they had Freddie Mercury, at the 80's Axl Rose n at 90's Kurt Cobain +
The World is losing it's best singers, Freddie Mercury died, John Lennon is assassinated, Luciano Pavarotti died, Michael Jackson died, and one big tragic in music industry, Justin Bieber is alive. -Wacko
Watch clips from the winners, including Robert Plant, Bono, John Lennon and Freddie Mercury
RIP, Freddie Mercury. I hope you're having fun in heaven, rocking out with John Lennon, Davy Jones, Buddy Holly and the gang.
You ask me for a hamburger. I give you a hamburger. As you take the hamburger, you find that your hand is a cat with seven left whiskers and a blue and pink polkadot ribbon on its shoulder. The cat turns its head to look at you and you see the Eagle Nebula in its eyes. You open your mouth to scream but the sound that comes out is John Lennon singing the Macarena. You blink and see that the surroundings have changed. You are in the middle of a swamp, and right in front of you is Lebron James having a tea party with Paula Abdul. They motion you to come over but you are abducted by a chiropractor that bungee jumped from a hot-air balloon the size of Jupiter. You struggle to break free from his grasp, at which point you notice that he is wearing gloves made of platypus skin. He screams as you bite a chunk of his arm off. You see that the part you bit off has patties, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese on the inside, just like a hamburger. Special sauce drips from where you bit as you chew, and as you chew, you pos ...
Freddie Mercury , Michael Jackson , John Lennon , John Denver and now Jaspal Bhatti. Seems like I discover all the geniuses only after they die :(
Which famous person from the past would you most like to meet?... — Freddie Mercury or John Lennon
I can't imagine how if John Lennon, Paul Mccartney, Freddie Mercury, and Brian May were in the same band

Elton John, Paul Mccartney, John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, Cat Stevens, Roger Walters, Don Henley, and Steven Tyler are just a few of the men that make my heart smile. Remind me again why I was born in the 90s?
This is the sound of Jimmy Hendirx, Jim Morrison, John Lennon and Freddie Mercury turning in their graves...
Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, Elton John, Paul Mccartney and MJ will never hold a torch to this individual.
Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury, John Lennon. They're all gone too (cont)
Steven Morrissey, John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, Gerard Way, David Bowie, Ronnie Radke and William Francis will be apart of it.
I miss her and so many other of the 60's performers whose music I grew up on, Morrison, Hendrix, Denise and Carl Wilson, James Brown, John Lennon and George Harrison, Freddie Mercury, Davey Jones, Keith Moon, all of the Ramones, who I like better the older I get and so many others. Sorry, the 60's were the best, in so many ways!
Music would be so much better if Kurt Cobain never committed suicide, if John Lennon wasn't shot and if Freddie Mercury never died of aids.
God, please take Justin Bieber and One Direction and give us back Freddie Mercury,John Lennon,George Harrison,Jimi Hendrix,Jim Morrison...
Dear God In exchange for one direction please could you give us Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Freddie Mercury, George Harrison and John Lennon

My brother likes sam and the womp.people like him make Freddie mercury and John Lennon turn in their graves
Here is an interesting poll from ThisDayinMusic.com If you could bring back a dead rock star, who would you bring back. That is an interesting thought. Who would you like to see come back? There are some great ones: John Lennon, George Harrison, Kieth Moon, Freddie Mercury, Elvis Presley. I would have to say after the olympics, I would like to see Freddie Mercury. Go to ThisDayinMusic.com and vote.
Man, I wish I could have seen John Lennon and Freddie Mercury in concert
I would give almost anything to have met John Lennon or Freddie Mercury.
Dear Lord. Can you please send us back Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury & John Lennon. In return you can take Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaij, Marilyn Manson, Drake & for an added bonus Mitt Romney too! Happy B-day MJ
people I would fetch back from the dead: Freddie Mercury, John Lennon and Heath Ledger... Yes Calum, yes, yes, yes!
John Lennon and Freddie Mercury are just so perfect. Omfg.
So we HAD... Freddie Mercury, MJ, John Lennon, Bing Crosby, Elvis and more yet they give us Justin Bieber? *** happened?
According to Lynne, the Curiosity Rover on Mars is going to play Will I Am on the planets surface... they could have played music from anybody who inspired generations and changed our own planet, like MJ, John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, but no. We're giving Mars our very own Mr.3000-and-late. Probably because he's sooo "futuristic". Hey, if Martians do attack us though we can all blame the Black Eyed Peas now.
We've had great musicians like Paul Mccartney, John Lennon, Elvis, Freddie Mercury and Noel Gallagher what do we have now. Niki Minaj. Great
I wish Freddie Mercury and John Lennon were still alive
Syd Barrett,Keith Moon, Brian Jones,John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Freddie Mercury, etc were too cool for this world
Imagine by Freddie Mercury > Imagine by John Lennon. And no, I'm not saying this because I'm a huge Queen fan, Freddie's cover is perfect.
Yes its the Anniversary of Elvis's Death but do people remember the deaths of John Lennon, Marc Bolan, Michael Hutchence and Freddie Mercury all Brilliant Artistes!
What fun!,,,The XXX Summer Olympics “Closing Ceremony, After Party”, was reallly good. It was a great mix of all-things British,, from Prince Harry and Kate Middleton, partying in the stands, to video flash-backs of the super, iconic Legends, John Lennon, David Bowie, and Freddie Mercury, singing their mega music hits!,, and the truly British sound of the group “Madness”, who sang at the “Queen’s 60th Diamond Jubilee” couple of months ago, on-top of Buckingham Palace, with dynamo, fun, and hip 80s’ nostalgia!,,, it was smashing!,, and great entertainment from beginning to end,, they pulled everything famously British, out of the hat,, and had everyone singing songs like,”Our House”, ”Imagine”, and “We are the Champions”,, the lead guitarist from “Queen” did his thing,,, top British super-models, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, accompanied by the ‘fashion police’, took a sexy stroll down the models cat-walk,,, several music groups performed...The Spice Girls, The Pet ...
2012 London Olympics are over now... The Closing ceremony was fantastic. I loved it man. For a music Lover like me, it was "Once in a lifetime" kind of show. All the performances were very good & that performance by Ray Davies of Waterloo Sunset is indescribable, thrilling one and truly mesmerizing . and my fav. parts of whole ceremony were- 1) The Beatles performing, 2) tribute to John Lennon & Freddie Mercury 3) "We will Rock You" by Queen . 4) and the Indian Bhangra. when Eric Idle was performing. It was a Truly Musical Ceremony...
Last night in London, thousands of fans gathered in Olympic Stadium for the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 games. The spectacular show kicked off with fireworks and rolled into a series of performances by British pop stars from the past six decades, including Brian May, The Who, Blur, and George Michael. Even John Lennon and Freddie Mercury made posthumous appearances via video. Brazil gave a preview performance of things to come in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, and Lord Sebastian Coe, chairman of the London Games Organizing Committee, praised the execution of this year's summer games, saying, "When our time came, Britain, we did it right." Full entry:
Thank you London for the wonderful memories. And, what a breathtaking closing ceremony it was! A celebration of British music, with the old and the new - it was a real treat. Fitting tributes to John Lennon ('Imagine') and David Bowie ('Fashion'). 'Bohemian Rhapsody' being played in the background and 'Here Comes the Sun' punctuated with dhol beats. George Michael with 'Freedom' and the reunion of Spice Girls. Russel Brand's rendition of 'I am the Walrus' wasn't bad either. Beady Eye (Oasis) with 'Wonderwall' and the super-fantastic Eric Idle (Monty Python) with 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life'. Nick Mason and the tribute to Syd Barrett was my personal favourite, especially when a tightrope walker shook hands with a cut-out human portrait and the latter engulfed by flames just like the album cover of 'Wish You Were Here'. Then there was a video footage from Queen's Wembley Concert, acknowledging the genius of Freddie Mercury. Brian May and Roger Taylor literally set the stage on fire with 'We Will ...
One Direction, Ed Sheeran, a tribute to John Lennon, Russel Brand singing a Beatles song, a tribute to Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor playing We Will Rock You (even though Jessie J ruined it), Tom Daley being shown during the entrance of the athletes, an impromptu fashion show.talk about a perfect closing ceremony last night, at least for me. The UK knows how to get things done.
Had an absolute hoot watching Olympics Closing Ceremony last night... George Michael looking deliciously chunky in leather trousers, Russell Brand singing the Beatles (badly!), Eric Idle saying 'life is a piece of s**t' to millions accompanied by rollerskating nuns, John Lennon and Freddie Mercury from beyond the grave, The Spice Girls wobbling on top of taxis, Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Taio Cruz and The Who bringing the house down... Totally wonderful and totally mad! PARTY ON LONDON 2012!!!
wow, LONDON one of the best Olympic closing ceremonies ever, the John Lennon clip and Freddie Mercury, so MANY great musical artists tonight
Loved Imagine and footage of John Lennon. Loved clips of Freddie Mercury. So miss him. Loved aerial Union Jack. Adored these games. What a testament to World Peace and the human spirit.
Well folks like before first the closing ceremonies had me, then they lost me, then they had me, and then they lost me again. There were appearances by Freddie Mercury and John Lennon which is quite a feat since they have been dead for almost 30 years, some random guy walked a tightrope for no reason, Eric Idle did some weird Bollywood performance, a guy was shot out of a cannon, Annie Lennox became a Goth pirate, Russell Brand sang a song from Willie Wonka?, and finally the only thing that made sense out of all that chaos. the Spice Girls who were awesome.
Olympic closing ceremony recap... I think i missed the beginning? John Lennon "Imagine"(no heaven, no *** nothing to live or die for) George Michael "Freedom"(big skull belt buckle) Tribute to The Who "Pinball Wizard"(Deaf dumb blind kid) Tribute to David Bowie(fashion show?) Anne Lenox(creepy looking, dark, skeleton ship, black wings, goth...) Pink Floyd tribute "Wish You Were Here"(walking a tight rope) Willy Wonka, Psychedelic stuff, I am the Walrus, ???, Fat Boy Slim(club rave with an enormous octopus) "Just wanna make the world dance, forget about the price tag"(while in a Rolls) Bee Gees tribute, Spice Girls reunion, Beady Eye(maybe you're gonna be the one to save me?) Eric Idle, Brighter side of life, Crazy stuff, British Empire maybe, Freddie Mercury(video) Brian May, Roger Taylor, Queen "We Will Rock You", Greek flag raised and anthem, Olympic flag retired and anthem... What an amazing, worldly, party! Let me know how it turns out, i gotta go to sleep now :-)
2012 London Olympic Closing Ceremony There was no better way to begin the ceremony with John Lennon's Imagine. Don't you think the song is an universal anthem of the world? It was truly a surprised to see George Michael on stage. He is always my favorite! David Bowie part was too short. Disappointed! Jessie J. showed off her singing power and amazing body. Impressive! Spice Girls were still hot and wild. Couldn't take my eyes off them. Eric Idel: Always look on the bright side of life mixed with Indian music + dance and opera elements. The part was very funny. I loved it! What a special way to tribute Freddie Mercury and terrific performance of Brian May + Roger Taylor & Jessie J as Queen. I was thrilled! The Who to perform the very last , there was no better arrangement to end up the ceremony than this. What a memorial ceremony! Thank you GB!
So we heard from John Lennon and Freddie Mercury so far. I can't wait for the drum duel between Keith Moon and John Bonham.
What a lovely way to start a day, watching the closing ceremonies of 2012 London Olympics, It was another magnificent, very elaborately choreographed performances from the British Musical Royalties such as John Lennon and Freddie Mercury on video. A spectacular acts by the Spice Girls on top of a London Black Cab and Jessie J in a Bentley with the group of "One Direction " singing "What makes you Beautiful"... Indeed, it was beautifully done! Thank you London...! Looking forward to the grandeur and lavishness of 2016 "Carnival "Brazil Olympics! Have a great day everyone!
If they can have a hologram Tupac perform at Coachella, surely they can have a hologram Freddie Mercury, or John Lennon or David Bowie at the Olympics closing ceremony!
Imagine if John Lennon and Freddie Mercury were there singing at the closing ceremony instead of One Direction.
Now apparently John Lennon and Freddie Mercury singing Imagine. :3 but my sister is sleeping so turn it down..??
Come back John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Bon Scott, Freddie Mercury, Ronnie James Dio and save the music industry!!!
I hope John Lennon and Freddie Mercury come on after Elton
Even if we resurrected John Lennon, Marc Bolan and Freddie Mercury and we still wouldn't bloody win.
Departed artists like Whitney Houston, Queen's Freddie Mercury and John Lennon also get…
My top 3 Lead singers are Freddie Mercury, Rob Thomas, and John Lennon. Just in case u were curious =D
Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, Axl Rose, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga they are my musicians all of time !
With news of Donna Summer's passing music has now lost its 3 kings, John Lennon, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. Its also lost its 3 queens Donna Summer, Whitney Houston and Freddie Mercury.
Dear God, Please can we trade Gaga, Bieber, Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj, Lil' Wayne and anyone else of your choice for : Curt Cobain, Jimmy Hendrix, Tupac Shakur, John Lennon, Freddie Mercury and Elvis... I really miss real music :/.
I look forward to the day when I meet Michael Jackson, John Lennon and Freddie Mercury in heaven :)
My five favorite vocalists of all time: - Freddie Mercury - Etta James - Frank Sinatra - Stevie Wonder - John Lennon or Paul Mccartney (can't decide)
Okay science and technology people... Good work on the Tupac hologram, that was pretty darn awesome. But if you don't give me John Lennon and Freddie Mercury by the end of the year, you all deserve a beating.
Let's trade Justin Bieber, Adam Lambert and Katy Perry and get Freddie Mercury, John Lennon and Kurt Cobain back please?
In light of the recent (and highly impressive) bringing back to life of 2pac via hologram I would like to submit my list of candidates: 1. John Lennon 2. Kurt Cobain 3. Mark Bolan 4. Freddie Mercury 5. Johnny Cash
What if they did that with Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Freddie Mercury, MJ, Eric Carr & all my other boyfriends.
such a trip to see. I wanna see Freddie Mercury, Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, and Jimi Hendrix like this.
If they brought back 2Pac in hologram form then they should bring back Kurt Cobain, Freddie Mercury, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, etc.
With all the hype of holographic tupac, I would not mind seeing holographic Freddie Mercury, John Lennon and George Harrison.
