One of the things I love doing when I write is using music to mood set. Like, if I'm trying to write something creepy I turn on some of the more low key Alice in Chains and Soundgarden songs like "Rotten Apple" and "Overfloater" When writing a touching scene I play stuff like "Hysteria" by Def Leppard and any Beatles song...ever. I also do it for characters. Take my Protagonist: Amanda, a smartass biker girl who makes her living bashing giants with a spiked flail. Whenever I try to write something 'her' I instantly go for stuff like "Back it Up" by Joan Jett and "Kickstart My Heart" by Motley Crue. Conversely for more the more laid back and level headed Valerie I play things like James Taylor's "Copperline" and "Light in Your Eyes" by Sheryl Crow. Works wonders for me lol.

MUSIC icons Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will tour Australia in April with retro UK rockers The Darkness. The co-headline tour will see tickets capped at $99 plus booking fee. Jett and her band, best known for the 1981 hit I Love Rock & Roll, broke a 15-year drought with a Down Under visit in 2010. That tour saw the Blackhearts headline the Falls Festivals in Victoria and Tasmania and Sunset Sounds in Brisbane. Jett won a new legion of fans when Twilight star Kristen Stewart portrayed her in The Runaways, based on the all-girl punk band she founded at age 15. The Darkness' Australian tour last year was a sellout event, a precursor to their comeback album Hot Cakes. The 2013 tour will visit Adelaide Entertainment Centre on April 2, Hisense Arena in Melbourne on April 4, Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on April 5 and Brisbane's Riverstage on April 6.   Tickets on sale February 11.      

For years friends have been suggesting I see the tv show "Freaks & Geeks." They always mentioned how I'd love the music in it and this and that. I checked out the show finally and have been in love with watching it on Netflix. Great music, Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation" is the theme song. Well, that's the most interesting Super Bowl party I've ever been to. There were a whole bunch of fights that made the football game look like a soccer game during the beginning of the game. Jones made probably the best play of the game with a brilliant catch from a long distance, then got up, went around two players and made the touch down. His celebration after the touch down was epic, too, with his dance and jumping into the other guy. Ravens did well in the first half of the game with twenty eight points to six. Unfortunately, during the second half there was a half hour long power outage, which allowed the 49ers to regroup and almost tie with the Ravens by having an excellent second half. Personally, I blame Beyonce's lame a** half time show for the power failure considering how much electricity she probably used for her lights show. We should have had a good female music performer like Joan Jett play instead, but whatever. There were eleven second to the game and the 49ers were down by five with the ...
