The are a good team with Jimmy Rollins, Cole Hamels, Chase Utley and Roy Halladay.
Jimmy Rollins - out. Cole Hamels - out. Cliff Lee, Roy Halliday, Roy Oswalt - out. . Who is this Phillies team?
I don't quite mind the moves so far that the Dodgers have made. Losing Dee Gordon was bad, but Howie Kendrick is great both offensively and defensively. We lost drew beutera and Tim Federowiczs but we got Yasmani Grandal, a really good young catcher. Upgraded huge defensively at short by bringing Jimmy Rollins and getting rid of Hanley Ramirez not to mention Rollins hit 17 homeruns last year and stole 28 bases. Now if we can get Cole Hamels then we would have an amazing rotation since they just signed Brandon Mccarthy as well. But in order to get Hamels we would have to give up either Carl Crawford or Andre Ethier since the Phillies just lost their outfielder John Mayberry. So I'm actually pretty happy about most of the moves. P.S. Chase Headley at 3rd and some better bullpen guys and I would be completely happy with the Dodgers off season moves.
Thank you Jimmy Rollins for 14 Great Years and Good luck in LA. Hopefully you win the World Series in La.Jay Rol Your the man. Dodgers now are the team to beat especially if Cole Hamels gets signed by the Dodgers
If the dodgers FO really flip Kemp into Yasmani Grandal, Jimmy Rollins, & Cole Hamels it'll lessen the blow. But my god it'll suck.
Today the Dodgers acquired Jimmy Rollins, Howie Kendrick and McCarthy. Major blockbuster in the works? Dodgers sending Matt Kemp to the Padres, Phillies sending Cole Hamels to the Dodgers and Padres sending prospects to the Phillies. Even if you don't know who any of these names are...today is an example of why I love baseball so much. An MLB offseason is sometimes just as fun as the regular season.
"Oh by the way, Cole Hamels and Jimmy Rollins for Zach Lee and Chris Reed. DEEZ NUTZ! *Storms Out*"
Aside from Cole Hamels, who would yield the most in return of a potential trade, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley could expedite the Phillies rebuilding process. Each would command prospects in trades. But are they willing to waive no-trade clauses? It's possible with Rollins.
Philadelphia Phillies: Speaking of missed opportunities, the entire Ruben Amaro era has turned into one. As Cleveland showed in getting rid of Justin Masterson and Asdrubal Cabrera, here is what you do with impending free agents: trade them. And when you have players of value, and your team is in last place in great need of a talent infusion, here is what you do likewise: trade them. Today, the Phillies still have Marlon Byrd and Kyle Kendrick and Jimmy Rollins and Antonio Bastardo, all of whom fall into the previous categories, not to mention Cole Hamels, one of baseball’s best pitchers. To blame other GMs for not wanting to give up more was the very definition of cluelessness from Amaro, whose poor read on value is evident by the disastrous contracts handed out under his watch and the mess of a team he fields on a daily basis.
Jimmy Rollins and a player of ur choice that is not named Cole Hamels for Seager
It doesn't surprise me at all that Ruben Amaro Jr. "accidently" traded one of our prospects to Houston for Hunter Pence. The man is so set on ruining the future that it should have happened more often. That being said, the Phillies future is the grimiest in the MLB. The roster is currently filled with old, washed up, payroll eating players, and they have the worst farm system around. The only way to somewhat fix the issue is to trade Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley and Cliff Lee and hope you get some young, competent players in return. If you can also find a way to trade Jonathan Paplebon, Cole Hamels and Ryan Howard, more power to you. But I don't see any trades coming at all. RAJ actually thinks that this team is a playoff contender, Lol.
There's 5 days until the Orioles Opening Day! Here are teams in my very OFFICIAL Power Rankings. 25. Philadelphia Phillies Can you believe that it was just two seasons ago that the Phillies had clinched their 5th straight division title? Just a year before that, they were making their 3rd straight NLCS appearance. To see them now, you would have to wonder how things got this bad so quickly. In truth, it’s due to the fact that the Phillies’ ownership seems desperate to hold onto their aging, and quickly decling, veterans (For reasons beyond human comprehension, surely). SS Jimmy Rollins seems to already be in the doghouse of new Manager Ryne Sandberg, which doesn’t bode well for the team that will need him to have any success. Elsewhere, the Phillies maintain a very old but somewhat capable roster. SP AJ Burnett decided against retirement in favor of signing with the Phillies. He’ll help to support SP Cliff Lee in a rotation that will be without SP Cole Hamels for the start of the season. Burnett a ...
Hey everyone, I was going through my memorabilia collection today and found a few items that people may have some interest in. I'm not looking to rip anyone off or anything like that, just looking for a few extra bucks for the holidays. I've been a collector for almost 15 years, primarily through shows and hotels. The autographed balls are all ROMLB. They include: 1. Mike Adams 2. Vance Worley 3. Juan Samuel 4. Raul Ibanez 5. Jayson Werth 6. Jim Thome 7. Dominic Brown The photos include: 1. Chad Johnson signed 16x20 2. Cole Hamels signed 16x20 3. Jimmy Rollins signed 8x10 4. Jimmy Rollins signed TV Guide 5. Roy Halladay signed 8x10 (coa) 6. Brian Westbrook signed 8x10 (coa) The Barry Sanders signed jersey has a HOF inscription. (I have a pic of him signing it). It is not an authentic jersey. Please message me if you're interested or for any other info!! Happy Holidays!!
Here's what I think our Opening Day roster will be (barring injuries of course) -chris Starters- Cole Hamels, Doc Halladay, Cliff Lee, Kyle Kendrick and John Lannan Pen- Jonathan Papelbon, Mike Adams, Chad Durbin, Antonio Bastardo, Phillippe Aumont, Jeremy Horst and Michael Stutes Catchers- Erik Kratz and Humberto Quintero Infield- Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, Michael Young, Kevin Frandsen and Yuniesky Betancourt Outfield- Delmon Young, Ben Revere, John Mayberry Jr, Laynce Nix and the last and final spot will go to.
Zach and I are going to the Philadelphia Sports Writers Awards Dinner tonight at the Crown Plaza to meet his hero "Mike Trout". Cole Hamels, Jimmy Rollins to name a few will also be there.should be a lot of fun!
the word "duh" comes to mind, it would be like the Mets signing Roger Clemens, Jimmy Rollins or Cole Hamels
Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels are both great starters. Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins are both very good players. Howard can’t be this bad again.
The Philadelphia Phillies are by far the most pathetic organization in professional sports! Are you kidding me; they appealed the scoring of a HIT that Michael Morse got last week so now it is an ERROR by Jimmy Rollins. Wow – you have to be incredibly selfish to pull a stunt like that. Gee, let me think – the pitcher that day was Cole Hamels. Well, we have seen his act before. BTW, the impact to Morse is that his 18 game hitting streak is now a 7 game hitting streak. Get used to last place boys. You deserve it!
Cole Hamels, Kyle Kendrick, Carlos Ruiz, Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, and Chase Utley are the only remaining from the '08 roster.
Watching sports center. Phils just traded Cole Hamels and Jimmy Rollins to the Yankees for Derek Jeter. wow
The Dodgers have a wish list that includes Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino, Cole Hamels and Matt Garza. When it comes to Rollins, Jon Heyman says a few things will have to happen to land the popular Philly shortstop
The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly interested in a trio of Phillies players: Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino, and Cole Hamels.
If people are getting tired of the Phillies performance this season and are ready for a fire sale, I have two proposed trades for people to ponder. Before anyone kills me or calls for my head, I preface these are all what I think and are being done in my mind to shake things up and start fresh. I first would see if the Dodgers would be willing to trade for Jimmy Rollins. If so, I would ask for 24-year-old SS Dee Gordon and 25 year-old minor league OF Alex Castellanos. Then I would propose Cole Hamels to the Rangers. They have reportedly had scouts following his last few starts. In return, I would ask for 23-year-old 3B Mike Olt, 24-year-old OF Leonys Martin, 19-year-old C Jorge Alfaro, and 21-year-old 2B Leury Garcia. I understand these are propsects, but in order to replenish the system things need to be done. Each player would be expected to address an eventual need the Phillies will eventually develop over the next two to three seasons.
Seriously. If the Phillies played like they did last night for the first 68 games of the season, it would be a totally different atomosphere in this city. Cole Hamels was excellent, Jimmy Rollins played his butt off, John Mayberry is making great swings, and Carlos Ruiz is still Carlos...
The Phillies Win in a Throwback: Cole Hamels, John Mayberry Hr., and Jimmy Rollins were instrumental in somethin...
After 6, 4-2, Phillies.Cole Hamels pitched great all night. Jimmy Rollins played well. John Mayberry Jr hit the ball long enough to be a HR.
Jimmy Rollins, Cole Hamels, Darryl "Chocalte Thunder" Dawkins and well that's it.
Phils postgame notes ∙ The Phillies extended their winning streak to a season-high six games. It is their longest streak since last year’s season-long nine-game streak, July 29-August 6, 2011. ∙ Cole Hamels extended his winning streak to a career-best six games (previous high were a pair of five-game streaks in 2010 and 2011). During his current winning streak, he is 6-0 with a 2.20 ERA (12 ER, 49.0 IP) in seven starts. ∙ Hamels improved to 4-0 with a 1.97 ERA (7 ER, 32.0 IP) in five career starts against the Red Sox. ∙ Jonathan Papelbon remained perfect in save situations this season (12-for-12). ∙ Carlos Ruiz has 19 RBI in 16 games this month. ∙ Over his last nine games, Freddy Galvis is batting .353 (12-for-34) with seven extra-base hits (5 2B, 3B, HR). He had seven extra-base hits over his first games of the season in 90 at-bats. ∙ Hunter Pence had his 12th multi-hit game of the season. ∙ Jimmy Rollins has reached base safely in each of his last 13 games (12 hits, 9 walks). He is ...
is it me or am I right to say that a 5 game suspension to a pithcer is not the same as a 5 game suspension to a position player. Due to a day off this week, Cole Hamels misses no games, but if Jimmy Rollins were to have been suspended for 5 games, he would have missed 4 gmaes over the same time period. Im happy because this suspension does not affect the Phils at all, but it just does not make sense. Your thoughts?
