Aside from Cole Hamels, who would yield the most in return of a potential trade, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley could expedite the Phillies rebuilding process. Each would command prospects in trades. But are they willing to waive no-trade clauses? It's possible with Rollins.

With the trade deadline just more than a month away, the Philadelphia Phillies and general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. have some decisions to make regarding some of their veteran players, in particularly – Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins. Earlier on Tuesday… [ 356 more words. ]
It doesn't surprise me at all that Ruben Amaro Jr. "accidently" traded one of our prospects to Houston for Hunter Pence. The man is so set on ruining the future that it should have happened more often. That being said, the Phillies future is the grimiest in the MLB. The roster is currently filled with old, washed up, payroll eating players, and they have the worst farm system around. The only way to somewhat fix the issue is to trade Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley and Cliff Lee and hope you get some young, competent players in return. If you can also find a way to trade Jonathan Paplebon, Cole Hamels and Ryan Howard, more power to you. But I don't see any trades coming at all. RAJ actually thinks that this team is a playoff contender, Lol.
Cliff Lee gets the ball for Mike Trout day at the bank. Lee (3-3, 3.64 ERA) will face 27-year-old righty Matt Shoemaker who has pitched in four major-league games with a 4.05 ERA this season in the bigs and a 6.31 ERA in the minors. Former Phillie John McDonald is in lineup for the Angels with Raul Ibanez also on the roster. Here's the Phillies lineup: 1. Ben Revere, cf 2. Jimmy Rollins, ss 3. Chase Utley, 2b 4. Ryan Howard, 1b 5. Marlon Byrd, rf 6. Dom Brown, lf 7. Carlos Ruiz, c 8. Cody Asche, 3b 9. Cliff Lee, p
Breaking down the 2014 payroll By:Ryan Lawrence of Philly.com The Phillies have 17 players under contract for a total of $158.83 million in 2014. The rest of the 25-man roster will likely be made up of pre-arbitration eligible players (like Domonic Brown and Cody Asche) or non-roster players that make the club out of camp (Bobby Abreu). Here is a list of most of the candidates for the Opening Day roster, which has to be trimmed down to 25, and their 2014 salaries. The salaries of pre-arbitration players (generally in the $500,000 range) between will be determined at some point in the next 8 weeks, when the Phillies renew their contracts. Tovar delivers big hit in debut as Mets sweep Phils . Wilfredo Tovar made his Major League debut in style Sunday, coming through for the Mets with the game-winning hit, off Phillies ace Cliff Lee, no less. Tovar's single to left with two on in the seventh rallied the Mets from a 2-1 deficit and sent New York to its first sweep of the Phillies since May 7-9, 2012, with a 4-3 win at Citizens Bank Park. Carlos Torres pitched six innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks. He struck out six, improving his record to 4-5. Juan Lagares had three hits, tying his career high. LaTroy Hawkins pitched the ninth for his 12th save. The rain may have helped the Mets out on Saturday, but the sun helped put them behind on Sunday. Andrew Brown lost Jimmy Rollins' fly ball in the sun in the sixth inning and it sailed untouched to the wall. Rollins had turned toward the dugout thinking the ball was caught, but when he saw it skipping on the outfield grass he reversed field and reached second. Chase Utley follo ...
Us too, Cliff. This game marks the 1,000th game that Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins have played together. They both acknowledged that there was a delay in reaching the milestone because of injuries. Cliff Lee pitched an absolutely great game tonight. He went 8 innings, had 8 hits, 1 walk,...
We all know that Domonic Brown is having an All-Star season. Of course, take May out of the equation and the average fan casting a vote would have no reason to vote for Brown. Other traditional fan voting favorites Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins are no longer among the top...

Here's what I think our Opening Day roster will be (barring injuries of course) -chris Starters- Cole Hamels, Doc Halladay, Cliff Lee, Kyle Kendrick and John Lannan Pen- Jonathan Papelbon, Mike Adams, Chad Durbin, Antonio Bastardo, Phillippe Aumont, Jeremy Horst and Michael Stutes Catchers- Erik Kratz and Humberto Quintero Infield- Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, Michael Young, Kevin Frandsen and Yuniesky Betancourt Outfield- Delmon Young, Ben Revere, John Mayberry Jr, Laynce Nix and the last and final spot will go to.
Michael Young- "Cliff Lee was my teammate; I obviously have a relationship with Cliff Lee. I've known Jimmy Rollins for a long time. I've played with Chase Utley in the World Baseball Classic, so I got to know him, and I played with Laynce Nix in Texas. I have spoken with him as well. Other guys I've known, too. Roy Halladay has gotten me out a lot, but I have a relationship with him from our time with the Blue Jays. That will allow me a bit of a comfort level."
Philadelphia Phillies now have arguably the best NL infield: 3B Michael Young SS Jimmy Rollins 2B Chase Utley 1B Ryan Howard C Carlos Ruiz

This is only 2nd time this season that Jimmy Rollins, Juan Pierre & Chase Utley have each had multiple hits. The other game? July 14 at COL.
Mom: "Jimmy Rollins thinks he's God's gift, and Ryan Howard thinks he's Babe Ruth the way he holds the bat." Me: "Do you like Chase Utley?" Mom: "I'm done with him. He broke my heart, and came back too late." Me: "What about Chooch, hater? You like him?" Mom (After a moment of silence): "I don't know him."
A walk to Jimmy Rollins then back-to-back singles by Kevin Frandsen and Chase Utley and it's 1-0 over the w/ no outs.

Congratulations to Jimmy Rollins for eclipsing Larry Bowa in all-time games played at shortstop for the Phillies. Chase Utley has played to most games at second for the Phillies as well. Historic duo up the middle for the Phils.

The difference between Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley: Utley run out a ground ball to first. (pops out)
Didja Know...that the last starting All-Star IF's not named Chase Utley were Jimmy Rollins & Scott Rolen in 2002?
The Philadelphia Phillies just completed a double play . . . Jimmy Rollins to Chase Utley to Ryan Howard . . .
I am just excited to hear what a double play by Jimmy Rollins to Chase Utley to Howard!
I know. Even with Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins leading the offense its bery embarassing for them.
The last-place Phillies blew a late inning lead again yesterday, largely because of a horrendous throwing error by shortstop Jimmy Rollins. Who would have guessed that Cliff Lee, with 11 starts, would still be without a win, that Roy Halladay and several relievers would be on the disabled list, and the best pitching staff in baseball would be no more. Or that, 67 games into the season, Chase Utley and Ryan Howard would yet to appear in a game and that Laynce Nix and others would be on the disabled list, or that Jim Thome would be shaping up as the team's most reliable hitter?
Chase Utley will be back relatively soon. Freddy Galvis is playing well and Jimmy Rollins is not. So does that mean Rollins sits?
First Ryan Howard, and Chase Utley now Jimmy Rollins.. I guess i need to suit up for the phillies
