Woody Allen, Ted Nugent, and Jimmy Page walked into a bar...
What do Ted Nugent, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Jimmy Page, Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Ian Watkins and Gary Glitter have in common?
Since where on music here is who all has shape my guitar playing. Tony Iommi, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, Brian May Alex Lifeson. Randy Rhoads, Joe Satraini , Vivian Campbell, Eddie Van Halen. Greg Howe, Chet Adkins, Gary Hoey, Eric Johnson, Ted Nugent. But most of all I thank God for him giving me the talent to play,And for each of these guitarist being in my life:).
In your opinion who is a better guitarist Jimmy Page - Led Zeppelin, Brain May - Queen or Ted Nugent - solo ?
Ladies. Instead of loving One Direction members you should love real rockers like Jimmy Page and Ted Nugent, man.
Everybody loves Eddie Van Halen. Well, at least the 28 artists who've contributed text the coffee-table book Eddie Van Halen. Among those singing his praises are Angus Young, Jimmy Page, Joe Perry, Les Paul, Ritchie Blackmore, Billy Gibbons, Peter Frampton, Tony Iommi, Steve Lukather, Rick Nielsen, Ted Nugent, Paul Stanley, Slash and Nancy Wilson. The book contains more than 200 photos of Eddie. Eddie and Van Halen will be in St. Paul, Minnesota on Saturday.
And a rant...I figured out years ago that Ted Nugent was an egotistical blowhard, (long before he became a member of the celebrity, political intelligencia.) I was reading an article in "Guitar World" where they asked Mr. Nugent to rate famous guitarists. Firstly, he ranked himself at the top. Please. Then he had the hubris to state that Jimmy Page "could" have been "as good as (Jeff) Beck, but fell flat on his stoned face." Seriously, Ted? Much props to Jeff Beck, but are you telling me you are a better guitarist than James Patrick Page? Well recently I read a recent "Rolling Stone" article where they had true guitar greats rank the top 100. I don't necessarily agree with all the rankings, but there were the ones you expect to be in such a list: Buddy Guy, Ry Cooder, Randy Rhodes, Chet Atkins, Muddy Waters, etc. The top three spots went to Mr. Jimmy Hendrix, Mr. Eric Clapton, and Mr. Jimmy Page. Guess who didn't make the list at all. I guess what I'm trying to say is.Suck it Ted.
Local guitarists excluded, Here's a list of my favorite guitarists in no particular order, Who didn't make my top 15 and who shouldn't be on it. If you have an opinion as far as ranking them 1-15 that would be interesting too, or maybe top 5. Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Adam Jones, Randy Rhoads, David Gilmour, Buckethead, Dimebag Darrel, Eddie Van Halen, Ted Nugent, Tony Iommi, Joe Satriani, (John Lennon and George Harrison) count as one.
