TERRY CARR : Jam / Psychedelic / Rock Westerville, OH / US Members : When I'm not performing solo I also play in Minds Eye, with Clay Justice, Seth Jenkins and Jared McAlister. Jared and I also play with Matt Mitchell in our side project, and I accompany Lyle Runner when I am able. About : I have always loved music. Music has helped me through the tough times and helped me celebrate the good times. I started playing music when I was a teenager, trying to imitate my musical heroes, like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Randy Rhoads, Jimmy Page, Alex Lifeson, etc... I started playing in bars before I was old enough to drink, so I had a headstart in the music scene, but I quit playing in my own band, so I could follow the Grateful Dead all over the country:) Travelling around, playing my acoustic in parking lots and campgrounds for years, without a care in the world. Until that day... Trav called, woke me up and said that Jerry had died earlier that morning... I went numb:( What now? All I knew was Grateful ...

Fancy yourself a fretboard wizard? To rise to the ranks of guitar master--that is, an exceptionally talented and charismatic guitarist, you must pay your dues. It isn't just about learning how to play guitar; it's about eating, breathing, and sleeping guitar. Read on to follow the lead of widely respected, guitar playing legends like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Yngwie Malmsteen, Eddie Van Halen, Angus Young and Randy Rhoads--maybe you've got it in you, maybe you don't, but there's only one way to find out. Steps: 1. Start playing now. The greatest of the great started becoming acquainted with their guitars as soon as they could get their hands on one, although there are many great guitarists who didn't even touch a guitar until their teens (Clapton and Lennon for example) or even older (Glenn Tipton, K.K. Downing, Tom Scholz) But even if you are a teen but have never held a guitar before, it's never too late to be a guitar god, so don't be discouraged. The point is to start playing as early as ...

Randy Rhoads and jimmy Page, Aaron Bagby is up and coming.
I heard someone talking about guitar players the other day. How Eric Clapton, Santana, Jimi Hendrix and others where mentioned and how they made love to the guitar like no one else could. I said Santana, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen and I mentioned many others made love to their guitars. I said Randy Rhoads, Jimmy Page liked a little S&M with their guitars. But and I said a huge Butt: Jimi Hendrix Butt Rapped his Guitar with out lube bleeding it raw. There is no one like Jimi. Yes there where rockers before him and yes there where rockers after him but there has never been a guitar player that stripped the very foundation of a guitar to it’s pours like the master himself Jimi Hendrix, no one compares to his talent with his guitar, if Hendrix could have stuck his Tootsie Roll in his guitar he would have and it does not surprise me if he didn’t. He is an icon and a guitar god that never will be matched.
Local guitarists excluded, Here's a list of my favorite guitarists in no particular order, Who didn't make my top 15 and who shouldn't be on it. If you have an opinion as far as ranking them 1-15 that would be interesting too, or maybe top 5. Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Adam Jones, Randy Rhoads, David Gilmour, Buckethead, Dimebag Darrel, Eddie Van Halen, Ted Nugent, Tony Iommi, Joe Satriani, (John Lennon and George Harrison) count as one.
'I think in the future, Jimi Hendrix, Randy, & maybe Jimmy Page will be the most formative people of this era.' -Kathy Rhoads
