Legends of Classic Rock with Jimmy Page - Les Paul and Joe Walsh
Jimmy Page's Number 1. He bought it from Joe Walsh, yet the cost varies.$250 to $1000. It's a 58 or 59 Les Paul.
Why people buy a Les Paul - Slash, Jimmy Page and so on ... why i bought a Les Paul - ..
You may be cool, but you'll never be Jimmy Page using a violin bow on a Les Paul cool!
Presumably that would be *the* 355. Would they have done the same with George Harrison's Rickenbacker or Jimmy Page's Les Paul?
Les Paul would have turned 99 today. Here's Les signing the guitar of an old friend...Jimmy Page.
I need a Gibson Les Paul Traditional and then I need to learn all riffs by Jimmy Page
Another question to chew on: Which famous American guitar player gave Jimmy Page his first Les Paul--the guitar which he is most often associated with?
I wish I could own the famous Les Paul that Joe Walsh sold to Jimmy Page
A guitarist is only as hot as his axe! Do as Jimmy Page would do and show your Les Paul some love:
Jimmy Page's '59 Les Paul Standard No. 2 is one of the seven wonders of the world

And a HUGE Happy B-day 68th to my man - Geoffrey Arnold "JEFF" Beck. I have been a huge fan of his since I first heard "Blow By Blow" in the '70s. He is ranked 5th on Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" (I rank him behind Eddie VH) and has earned the Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance six times and Best Pop Instrumental Performance once. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: as a member of the Yardbirds (1992) and as a solo artist (2009). Jeff is one of the three noted guitarists to have played with The Yardbirds (the other two being Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page). Also, he appears on albums by *** Jagger, Tina Turner, Morrissey, Jon Bon Jovi, Malcom McLaren, Kate Bush, Roger Waters, Donovan, Stevie Wonder, Les Paul, Zucchero, Cyndi Lauper, Brian May, Stanley Clarke and ZZ Top. The man can do it all!
Jeff Beck is 69 years old today. When Jeff heard Les Paul's "How High The Moon" on the radio he decided that he wanted to play the guitar. Upon leaving school he attended Wimbledon College of Art, after which he was briefly employed as a painter and decorator, a groundsman on a golf course, and a car paint-sprayer. Beck's sister Annetta introduced him to Jimmy Page when both were teenagers. When Eric Clapton left The Yardbirds, Jimmy Page was asked to join. He didn't but recommended his friend, Jeff. After leaving the Yardbirds, Beck recorded the one-off "Beck's Bolero" with Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, Nicky Hopkins andKeith Moon. He then put together The Jeff Beck Group, with Ronnie Wood, Rod Stewart and Nicky Hopkins. After that, he joined forces with Vanilla Fudge's Carmine Appice and Tim Bogert and formed Beck, Bogert and Appice. Pink Floyd's Nick Mason recalls in his autobiography, that during 1967 Pink Floyd had wanted to recruit Beck to be their guitarist after the departure of Syd Barrett but "No ...
a Les Paul do Jimmy Page, a Les Paul do Randy Rhoads, a Flying V do Randy Rhoads, a do Van Halen, e a Jackson do Adrian Smith
...sound that Duane Allman had, rather than sounding like Eric Clapton or Jimmy Page who used the 59' Les Paul?
Watching Led Zep's Celebration Day movie. Just ran Griff out of the room by the second song. Admittedly they aren't very tight, with missed verses, flubbed notes and typically Les Paul sloppiness you'd expect from Jimmy Page. Still, the energy of these songs comes bursting out of these old men, reminding you of why they were once a big deal. Robert Plant sounds surprisingly better than I expected, actually holding up a lot better than some of the '80s hair band vocalists. John Paul Jones holds down the bottom end with Jason Bonham like the pro that he is...and has he been in a cryogenic freeze for the past 30 years? Gonna sit back and enjoy the solitude and music for a bit. :)
They are among the most sought-after musical instruments in the world. Everyone from Chet Atkins to Les Paul to Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin to Slash of Guns n’ Roses played them. A vintage 1959 Les Paul guitar can go for as much as $400,000. Almost every kid who has dreams of music stardom wants one ...
Unique interview with Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page. In depth discussion about the technical aspects of his Gibson Les Paul.
Looks like one of these sexy beasts will be appearing on my timeline weekly =P My current chance of winning... 1 in 7000+ Slim odds... maybe, but I feel it has become my destiny to possess what is very often considered to be the best guitar in the world. Jimmy Page now walks with a hunched back because of how heavy his Les Paul was. I know this and yet I'd still play it every god *** day! It's worth it.
So Kevy wrote two letters yesterday..The first one reads: Dear Santa, For Christmas, If I'm on the good list :) , the only thing I would like is a Les Paul Electric Guitar. I just thought to give you a heads up. Love, Kevin R. Krabbe Jr The second one is to Slash from GNR..and reads: Dear Slash, I am one of your biggest fans. I live in Kimberly, WI. and my name is Kevin Krabbe Jr. You and Jimmy Page are my favorite guitarists. I am writing this letter to tell you how much you inspire me. I have a Samick acoustic guitar from my dad, when it was originally my mom's but they got divorced and my dad got it. I'm trying to save up for a Les Paul like you. And you have a lot of guitars by the way. Sorry about my writing, and please write back. P.S. - I'm 11 Sincerely, Your biggest fan, Kevin Krabbe Jr. Rock on... And he even went as far as getting Slash's address so I can send it out to him, which I most definitly will be doing!! The love for music that this child has is just absolutly wonderful. This child AMAZ ...
Thee 1959 Gibson Les Paul played by Jimmy Page is known as one of the most valuable musical instrments in the world ! fyi
Hey, you should at least respect Joe Walsh for giving Jimmy Page his '59 Les Paul and Pete Townshend his '59 Gretsch 6120.
What I wanna know is how Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) gets that kind of tone out of his Les Paul. Must be cause he's god.
A Musical Tribute to Les Paul & Mary Ford, Starring Tom Doyle & Sandy Cory Wednesday, May 23, 7:00 p.m., Cranford Community Center--Les Paul and his wife, Mary Ford, recorded a string of pop hits in the early 1950s. A renowned jazz guitarist, Paul was also a pioneer in multi-track recording, solid-body guitar design, and electronic effects devices. Tom Doyle is a highly accomplished guitarist in his own right. He began his musical career in a duo with his sister. They performed at the Bitter End in New York City and opened for such artists as Richie Havens, the Lovin’ Spoonful and the Butterfield Blues Band. Les Paul, impressed by Doyle’s musical talent and technical know-how, hired him as his sound engineer, a position that Doyle held for 40 years. In 1970 Doyle also began a business making, repairing and modifying guitars. He has customized, repaired and modified guitars for George Benson, Sting, Bucky Pizzarelli, Al Di Meola, and Jimmy Page, among others. Along the way, Doyle met Sandy Cory, a guit ...
Everybody loves Eddie Van Halen. Well, at least the 28 artists who've contributed text the coffee-table book Eddie Van Halen. Among those singing his praises are Angus Young, Jimmy Page, Joe Perry, Les Paul, Ritchie Blackmore, Billy Gibbons, Peter Frampton, Tony Iommi, Steve Lukather, Rick Nielsen, Ted Nugent, Paul Stanley, Slash and Nancy Wilson. The book contains more than 200 photos of Eddie. Eddie and Van Halen will be in St. Paul, Minnesota on Saturday.
I was just reading a Guitar Center mailer about Slash and they list his Les-Paul-Playing influences as Mike Bloomfield, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, etc., but its really annoying that they didnt list Johnny Thunders just because not many people know of him. I have a feeling they did this simply to talk to common readers and casual guitarists, which is completely irresponsible as an influential company who sells instruments to blooming musicians. If you dont educate people on things they've never experienced, you'll never have new art.
Joe Walsh gave Jimmy Page his signature Les Paul..? Who'd have thunk it..
