The Rules:   Don't take too long to think about it.  Fifteen guitarists that will always stick with you.  List the 15 you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.  Tag 15 friends  (or more or less), including Me, because I'm interested in seeing what guitarists my friends choose. (To do this, go to your "Notes" tab on your profile page, paste rules in a side note, cast your 15 picks & tag people in the note -- in the "tag" line.)     Here are my selections: 1. Jimmy Page - Led Zeppelin 2. Dave Gilmour - Pink Floyd 3. Andy Summers - The Police 4. Joe Strummer - The Clash 5. John Mayer 6. Steve Wilson - Porcupine Tree 7. Gary Clark, Jr. 8. Eddie Van Halen - Van Halen 9. Damon Johnson - Brother Cane/Alice Cooper/Thin Lizzy 10. Mike McCready - Pearl Jam 11. Jerry Cantrell - Alice in Chains 12. Stevie Ray Vaughn 13. George Harrison - The Beatles 14. Tim Sult - Clutch 15. Chris Shifflett - Foo Fighters
And for the record, the earthquake hit just after Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones appeared on stage with the Foo Fighters.
Watching the Foo Fighters play with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones on Palladia and I wonder how Taylor Hawkins feels knowing he's not even the best drummer in his band?
I don't care for the Foo Fighters much at all but playing Rock N Roll with Jimmy Page & John Paul Jones is awesome
Today's "Rock Fun Fact" is all the things good about Rock And Roll. Dave Grohl is a HUGE Zeppelin fan, and this has to be about as good as it gets . . . on this date in 2008, Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones made a guest appearance at the Foo Fighters concert at London's Wembley Stadium.
I felt much the same when the Foo Fighters did Rock'n'Roll with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.
Can,nt beat listening to Led Zepillen,Nirvana and Foo Fighters,Queen - They Inspire me a lot !! Jimmy Page,Dave Grohl,Taylor Hawkins,Pat Smear,Chris Shiflett,Nate Mendal,Kurt Cobain,Lemmy,Roger Taylor !! Awsome musicians, The Music world would be far better if Kurt Cobain was still Alive !!
Dec. 26 the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors was aired on national television for the first time on CBS. During the event, which took place at the Kennedy Center Opera House, Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson of Heart performed Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" with Jason Bonham on drums. The honor is given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture and in 2012 the surviving members of Led Zeppelin (John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant) were among those honored. During their segment, the Foo Fighters performed "Rock And Roll," Lenny Kravitz performed "Whole Lotta Love," and Kid Rock performed both "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and "Ramble On". The performance of "Stairway to Heaven" began with Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart performing the song with a backing band, which included Jason Bonham on drums. He is the son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, who passed away in 1980. As the song progressed, back-up singers, a string section, and the Joyce Garrett Youth Choir ...
Now that he is on touring hiatus from Foo Fighters, what else would Dave Grohl wanna do on his 44th birthday than come listen to Blundercover brutalize the tune Monkey Wrench in our El Segundo garage? We can do that and so much more... We still don't know what happened last week to Sporty Spice, Mary J. Blige, Raekwon, Jimmy Page, Donald Fagen, Pat Benatar, Crystal Gale and Buster Poindexter. But that was then and this is now. Certainly, Mr. Grohl won't follow in the absentee footsteps of the individuals noted above.
Happy New Year's Eve everyone! We hope everyone has recovered from celebrating Christmas and are now ready for their New Year's celebrations. Starting things off today is a video of the Foo Fighters covering the mighty Led Zeppelin Official's Rock & Roll for an audience containing none other than President Barack Obama, David Bowie (Official), Jimmy Page & Robert Plant. In the video Dave Grohl takes to the drums, in honour of John Bonham, while Taylor Hawkins managed the vocals. Are the Foos the closest thing to Zep in today's industry?
Jimmy Page e John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin to a jam with Foo Fighters

Doobie Brothers, Citizen Reign, Nickelback, Foo Fighters followed by Jimmy Page & David Coverdale, Van Halen, Chickenfoot and Brian May & Paul Rogers with a kick *** guitar duet over at rockxstream.net Tune it in, crank it up and rip off the knob!
I can appreciate Jimmy Page performing "Rock & Roll" with the Foo Fighters, but Taylor Hawkins has zero frontman charisma.
I have never in my life!!! When I hear someone recommend a Kanye West song over any song from Tool, I begin to realize what is wrong with today's youth! That same person has never heard a song from A Perfect Circle! He continually suggest songs from Drake and from Kid Cudi. I would rather not have music if I had to choose those artist over bands such as Tool, A Perfect Circle, Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, Motorhead, Wolfmother, Seether, Queen, Eric Clapton, Simon and Garfunkle, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton, Alice in Chains, Metallica, etc... I literally could continue to name better music from so many more artists than has ever been produced by any hip hop, r&b, or rap artist in the last ten years. Dont get me wrong, nothing about what I am saying is racist... I do enjoy some rap music, but only when the situation presents itself. With that said, this conversation was brought up about what kind ...
watching Foo Fighters at Wembly on VH1...Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones hit the stage :)
