(CNN) -- Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett announced plans Wednesday to file an anti-trust lawsuit against the NCAA over its sanctions against Penn State University following the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal. Last July, the NCAA levied unprecedented sanctions against the university, including a fine of $60 million. It also stripped 14 seasons of football victories from late Head Coach Joe Paterno. "These sanctions did not punish Sandusky," or those who allegedly helped cover up his repeated sexual abuse of disadvantaged children, said Corbett at a news conference in State College. He said they instead affect past and current students who were not part of the scandal. "I cannot and will not let it happen without a fight," said Corbett, adding that the Sandusky case was a criminal matter and not a violation of NCAA rules.
TOP PITTSBURGH SPORTS STORIES 2012: A TOUGH YEAR Steelers collapse, Pirates collapse, Penguins collapse. Not to be negative. But I’m a big-picture guy, and that’s definitely your top three. It was a TOUGH YEAR. If you look at Pittsburgh’s other major sports teams, Pitt basketball made news by missing the NCAAs and winning some hambone tournament, and Pitt football made news by blowing a 14-point fourth-quarter lead at Notre Dame. Go East: Joe Paterno died, and Penn State dealt with the fallout of the Jerry Sandusky scandal. Go South: West Virginia football imploded with painful force. Hines Ward retired. Tim Tebow knocked the Steelers out of the playoffs. Andrew McCutchen’s collapse paralleled that of the Pirates. On the positive side of the street, the Penguins’ Evgeni Malkin won the NHL MVP and scoring title. Bill O’Brien won Big Ten Coach of the Year and did as much as could possibly be done in one year to resurrect Penn State football. O’Brien is rumored to be headed to the NFL. TOUGH YE ...
As NFL owners and executives revisit the success of college coaches at the pro level, Penn State's Bill O'Brien may be on more short lists than Oregon's Chip Kelly and that would include the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles, according to league sources. O'Brien would not necessarily jump at any NFL opportunity but if he did leave Penn State it would qualify as a surprise after the former Patriots offensive coordinator was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year in his first season as the Nittany Lions coach in 2012. However, sources say teams that have gauged his interest have been informed by a third party representative that when O'Brien accepted the task of being the late Joe Paterno's successor, he was told by school officials that the Jerry Sandusky scandal was a criminal matter, not an NCAA concern. That proved to be bad information as Penn State was dealt a four-year bowl ban and scholarship reductions as part of its penalties. O'Brien could not be reached for comment but the sources emphasized ...
Top court story in the Reading Eagle's top 10 stories of 2012 7. Sandusky fallout reaches Berks law enforcement, artist Alleged abuse victims flooded Berks County detectives with calls this year in the wake of Jerry Sandusky’s conviction. The Former Penn State defensive coordinator was sentenced on Oct. 9 to 30 to 60 years in state prison after a jury found him guilty of 45 counts of child abuse. Also, local sculptor Angelo Di Maria, who created an iconic statue of Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, was saddened when the university’s president had the campus landmark Di Maria had created removed from its spot outside Beaver Stadium. An investigation suggested Paterno may have knowingly overlooked Sandusky’s crimes, and Penn State President Rodney Erickson reasoned the statue had become a source of controversy that was dividing the campus. In the meantime, Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams said the county’s child-abuse caseload increased by 60 percent to 780 calls in 2012, prompting ...
A Pennsylvania judge on Thursday denied Penn State's request to put on hold former assistant football coach Mike Mcqueary's whistleblower and defamation lawsuit until related criminal cases are resolved. Judge Thomas Gavin said the pending criminal matters "impose no burden on Penn State" because the university is neither a prosecutor nor defendant in the cases against former administrators Graham Spanier, Tim Curley and Gary Schultz. McQueary, who testified in June that he complained to then-Head Coach Joe Paterno after seeing defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky naked in a shower with a boy, is pursuing a civil suit against the school. Gavin said Spanier, Curley and Schultz "have no Fifth Amendment right to refuse to testify, nor need they fear that information gathered in this case can be used against them in the criminal proceedings. The focus in the criminal proceedings is what (the) defendants knew about Sandusky's improper conduct on the day they appeared before the grand jury or met with investiga ...
Here are Hal's picks for the top national sports stories of 2012: 1. Former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky is found guilty of child molestation and is sent to jail for the rest of his life, bringing to an end a scandal that cost Sandusky’s boss, Joe Paterno, his legacy. 2. The NFL resorts to using replacement refs to start the season because of a labor dispute with its officials, and it turns into a fiasco with several controversial blown calls that helped lead to an end to the impasse. 3. Johnny Manzel becomes the first freshman ever to win the Heisman Trophy. 4. American swimmer Michael Phelps adds to his medal count in London, finishing with 19 for his career to become the most decorated champion in Olympic history. 5. At long last, college football finally adopts a limited four-team playoff system. 6. The conference realignment craziness in college sports continues with the ACC, Big Ten and Big 12 picking from the carcass of what’s left of a Big East to the point that the league ...
In the wake of the most horrific sports scandal in recent memory, the public outrage toward Penn State has been matched perhaps only by a desire to know more. Though many of the key players in the scandal have obtained lawyers, the following questions beg to be answered: 1. Did Joe Paterno confront Jerry Sandusky after being made aware of what Mike Mcqueary allegedly saw in 2002? From the outset, Paterno has said he wishes he "did more" to stop the abuse. If he indeed never directly discussed the incident with Sandusky, as the accused has claimed, Paterno's quote is an appalling understatement. Especially considering there are indications he knew past abuse may have occurred, failing to discuss the issue with Sandusky and not attempting to further gather facts lends credence to those who not only believe Pateno could have done more, but tried to "cover it up." 2. What level of knowledge did Paterno and the rest of the athletic department have of the police report filed against Sandusky in 1998? Details of ...
Freemasonry has powerful and influential roots in both Ohio and its neighboring state of Pennsylvania. It is ironic that Penn State University’s football coach, Jerry Sandusky, was recently exposed as a pedophile criminal. One wonders if both he, and his mentor and coverup accomplice, Coach Joe Paterno, are Freemasons. The original city lay-out of Sandusky, Ohio The city of Sandusky, Ohio, apparently conceals a number of secrets unknown even to most of its citizens. First, the city was laid out in the occultly significant year 1818 (numerologically interpreted as 666) in the design of one of the most recognized of all Masonic symbols, the Square and Compass. The city designer was Major Hector Kilbourn. It is known that Major Kilbourn was an avid Mason and the Master of the first Masonic Lodge in Sandusky. But, there’s more. It turns out that Sandusky, Ohio just happens to be home to Cedar Fair, an amusement park company whose main attraction is The Beast, the largest wooden rollercoaster in the world, ...
Over a year later and there is still not a single shred of evidence linking Joe Paterno to any wrong doing in the Jerry Sandusky case. On the day Paterno said he would resign he could barely get out of his house with media swarming his lawn, meanwhile Jerry Sandusky was working out at a public gym surrounded by nobody. Do not tell me this wasn't a public lynching led by a media witch-hunt. In a matter of hours lies and false stories circulated around the world, largely fueled by AG Linda Kelly's awful presentment and the media members at ESPN, CNN and other national outlets. The media knew Joe wouldn't punch back because that's Joe taking the high road and potentially because he knew they were all fruitless lies. But I stood outside his house the night he was fired and we will fight for Joe Paterno. President Rodney Erickson shrunk in front of the NCAA and accepted incomprehensible sanctions because he says its time to move forward. Well we aren't going anywhere until we give Joe Paterno his own fair sho ...

Did Donald Trump get paid by Penn State Alummni to cover-up the Jerry Sandusky Sex sandal? Was Joe Parterno and Jerry Sandusky, Donald Trumps special guest at Trump Towers, and at trips to ball NCAA & NFL ball games on his private Jet. Did Trump help Sandusky take some young boys and men to his private domains. Inquring minds want to know. Will Trump be charged with aiding and abetting in the Jerry Sandusky case.
Hats off to Penn State Football for their playing for the Big Ten title against Ohio State this Saurday Night despite the raw deals their football and current student body was handed by the NCAA despite them having nothing to do with Jerry Sandusky or the framing of Joe Paterano to destroy his legacy as being the divisoin one coach with the highest graduation rate and the highest number of wins along with donating much of his personal income to Penn State's library and other educational facilities. Much conratiolations to Coach O'Brien and this year's Nittany Lion team. It appears the death of Penn State Footabll was prematurely declared. One Penn State fan who things the NCAA governing body should be ashamed of themselves. Proud ro rooted for Penn State the ony real Football Team in the land of Happy Valley, Pa.
Thank you Penn State,Jerry Sandusky, and Joe Paterno for Justin Brown. Only good thing you have done this year!! BOOMER SOONER!!
Anyone who looks at the entirety of the terrible events caused by the crimes of Jerry Sandusky will have a tough time finding any direct connection between those events and any behavior of Joe Paterno's to cover them up. The Freeh Report is the ONLY source drawing another conclusion, and that report has been held up falsely as judge and jury. I personally have done loads of reading and research, and I BELIEVE in Joe Paterno, and the infinite amount of GOOD that he brought to Penn State and the world.
I think that it is strange that media says Jerry Sandusky fooled countless professional child advocates trained to spot child molesters, but Joe Paterno, a college football coach, is villified for failing to spot Sandusky's crimes. This proves you need big names to create big scandals.
Jerry Sandusky – Joe Paterno Scandal (GAME OVER) Sorry, I could not read the content fromt this page. View the origin
Sandusky,Obama and NAMBLA: The *** Agenda Jerry Sandusky has been sentenced to decades in prison for molesting boys. Our managed media describes it as "underage boys"- as if it would be admirable had the boys been born a little earlier. Why does our media do that? When the late Joe Paterno was forced out of Penn State after decades of excellence as the Nittany Lions Head Coach. Why was "JoPa" fired? Because he allowed the weakest, most defenseless in our society to be exploited for the degenerate pleasure of rich and powerful homosexuals. Sandusky is a male, and he forced young males to have sexual relations with him -- that is by definition same-sex or *** same) sexual. Why does our media mask the fact by calling him a "pedophile"? He engaged in homosexual pederasty. What our media is hiding from you is the fact that Paterno was simply following the PC dogma. Paterno refused to be "HOMOPHOBIC." After all, Sandusky just did what LGBT media push- same sex sodomy. Children in kindergarten in California a ...
So my wife told me today that going to Halloween as Jerry Sandusky (me) and Joe Paterno (her) would be a bad idea .. I'm sorry I think it would be hilarious! Especially to see her with the Paterno glasses on! Lol
Don't you think Jerry Sandusky is a real role model for teachers, coaches and counselors...NOT! It is always troubling to me that guys like him, because of their position of authority, as well as being protected by the likes of people such as Joe Paterno, get away with abuse for years and years. He will spend the next 30 years, or less, in jail while those he abused will spend the rest of their lives dealing with the torment of having trusted someone who did not deserve their trust.
Not to bring up a sore subject, but with the sentencing of Jerry Sandusky today I think of the elimination of 14 years of records in regards to Penn St football. In my eyes, Joe Paterno is still the winningest coach in NCAA Football history. Sandusky on the other hand, meet Jamal..PLEASE
Jerry Sandusky maintains his innocence. He'll now have the opportunity to defend his character among a bunch of new friends and roommates. Soon he'll be reunited with Joe Pa in a very very warm climate if theres any justice.
Jerry Sandusky robbed many young men of their innocence, he stole Joe Paterno's dignity, and today he cheated me out of the Ellen show. Is it any wonder he is so hated!?!?!
Jerry Sandusky's little speech in court I found completely disgusting!! Enjoy your 30 years of denial you shameless perv!! Too bad Joe Pa and anyone else who helped you cover it up couldn't have joined you!!
Jerry Sandusky gets a minimum of 30 years in prison.Joe Paterno died a shamed man...neither one compares to what the victim's have to live with for the rest of their lives! Hopefully both "men" rot in ***
Jerry Sandusky gets 30-60 year sentencing and thats not long enough. I hope he gets what he has coming to him. Lets see how he likes being raped. I have nothing against Penn State just Jerry and the people who knew what was going on and thought football was more important then young children being raped in there locker rooms and showers on Penn State property and I know for sure Joe Pa is rotting in *** This story is so close to my heart and justice is not complete whoever knew and didnt do anything should be in jail if not they will rot in *** I wish the NFL or somebody would were a color to raise awarness for child rape because it is going on way more than people now. These children will not speak out because it is beat into here head not to. All the parents need to talk to there children about there private parts and people touching them. Children are being robbed of there innocence and there lifes. Nothing is so important that people should cover up child rape not even college football. Jerry, . ...
justice for the victims! Jerry Sandusky, the Former Penn State asst. coach was sentenced today to no less then 30 to A max of 60 years in prison for his unspeakable acts of cruelty and perversion in the form of 45 counts of molestation! I hope he is raped repeatedly in prison for what he did and the shame he brought to State College! Im very sorry these actions ever took place...RIP JOE PA!
I find myself rooting for Penn State. These kids playing today had nothing to do with the child molestation scandal involving Jerry Sandusky, Joe Paterno and others. But they have to take the punishment. Doesn't seem fair
Former Penn State assistant and convicted sexual predator,Jerry Sandusky, will be sentenced on Tuesday.Key witness,Mike McQuery, who quarterbacked in Happy Valley in the mid 90s,and coached on Joe Paterno's staff,is filing a whistleblower lawsuit against the school.
I'm sorry, but I refuse to watch Penn State football . As part of their punishment they should have been stricken of the privilege to be shown on national television Every time I see them on tv all I can think about is Jerry Sandusky, Joe Paterno and his willingness to place a higher priority on winning football games than to protect the lives of innocent children from a pedophile.
Finally, a Penn State game will be played on AFN. I'm looking forward to how much the announcers will be talking about Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno, but not the game.

Does anyone think it's possible that Joe Paterno knew and/or was more involved with Jerry Sandusky's off field activities? I realize that Mr.Paterno is not here to defend himself & that's really to bad. It makes me sick to my stomach when I think of how many young boys were victimized. And now it is supposed to be as big as a tri-state pedophile ring? How much farther will this go & how many other worthless pieces of crap will be involved? They all should spend the rest of their lives in prison!
Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline has been banned at Penn State football games. OH NO! They are trying to deny that it's because of the lyrics "reaching out touring me touching you" The song has been played there since Joe Pa was young. Wow this song must be what drove Jerry Sandusky to recruit all those Tight Ends at Penn State. I always knew that Neil Diamond was e-vile!!!

Got back yesterday after 5 days at the Delaware seashore with Mrs. R. Weather was outstanding though surf was too rough to go in for the first few days and still threw me around like a dish rag on Wed. Thursday was almost perfect. Still digging sand out of my ears and other orifices. Mrs. R. let me go golfing on Tuesday, which meant a lot, since that was where I was on 9/11 (before Shanksville). The absolute best part of the trip was five glorious days away from Penn State, Joe Paterno, Jerry Sandusky, etc. Got back last night and first face I see on the news is Franco Harris. Two reactions: 1) wanted to vomit; and 2) wanted to go back to someplace where they can talk about something else!

Quote from New book Paterno. At the dining room table Paterno finished reading the report. He asked a few uncomfortable questions that nobody particularly wanted to answer. Then he asked, "so what are they saying about me out there?" He pointed outside past, past the living room, through the window, toward the mass of reporters and their notepads and cameras. His children told him that they--not just the media, but many people all across America--were saying that Joe Paterno had covered up for a child predator. They were saying that Paterno knew exactly what Jerry Sandusky had done and what he was about, that Paterno had protected Sandusky instead of those children. They were saying that after more and half-century of coaching football at Penn State University, Joe Paterno was willing to let children be harmed in unimaginable ways to protect his legacy. "How could they think that" he asked, and no one had the heart to answer. "They really think that if I knew somone was hurting kids I wouldn't s ...
I couldn't agree with this writer any more: Dear Penn State Board of Trustees, It is apparent you want us, the alumni, to move on. You implore us to move on. Here is a simple fact. We can and will move on, and will join you on a united front, if one of two things occurs. We will move on if 1) Indisputable evidence surfaces that clearly shows Joe Paterno knew that Jerry Sandusky was molesting boys since 1998/2001 and did nothing to stop him, (we already know that the findings of your $6.5 million Freeh Report are fiction: (or 2) You admit your hasty decisions starting back in Nov. 2011, (including firing Joe Paterno, accepting the Freeh Report, and agreeing to the NCAA sanctions) were a mistake, made under pressure and not based on truth, and that you did not act in the best interest of Penn State University. One day you will have to look in the mirror and admit that you allowed this debacle to get out of control. Back in November, Penn State had no PR, so the media naturally turned to Joe, the face of Pen ...

Still CANNOT BELIEVE what Jerry Sandusky did to those poor kids...And to think that Joe Pa knew about it the whole time!
I just read Graham Spanier's interview in the New Yorker. Like Joe Paterno, he was made the scapegoat. While there may have been some mishandlings of the Jerry Sandusky case I now believe that Spanier tried his best to deal with the incident but was blocked by the board of trustees, who looked to use this as leverage to fire Paterno. Provided, this is one man's side of the story I find Spanier rather credible and believe he got a raw deal. If he was guilty of anything it was being loyal to his employees, whom he affectionately referred to as family. I know that if a member of my family, or a close friend, was accused of such a horrible, heinous offense I would stand by him. Hopefully, when this all blows over, We will all see the truth, and realize what a work of fiction the Freeh Report truly is.

:Heroes: So another one bites the dust. Or did he? We live in a society where we love our heroes. Yet it is devastating to watch as the pedestals that we put them on somewhere beside Jesus and Abraham Lincoln crumble. I can think of a few of my heroes that have blown it big and left me stranded in the wake of disappointment. Tiger Woods, Magic Johnson, Joe Paterno, Marion Jones, Michael Vick, Lance Armstrong. These are all people that I would have encouraged my children to aspire to become. I suppose after the Jerry Sandusky case broke I realized that I needed to reevaluate who my real heroes are. People that have in some way influenced my life in both tangible and intangible ways. People that have inspired and encouraged me to keep going even when I wanted to give up. Here are some of my real heroes some of them you may know. Paula Jones, Marvin A. Jones, Richards Miller, Jim Warner, Chuck Zink, Sally Zink, Jesus Christ, Myron Jones, Wilhelmina Mitchell. I am probably leaving out a handful. Th ...
Limbaugh said yesterday that the media was unfairly wiping out a man's career and reputation by painting Joe Paterno as BEING Jerry Sandusky. On this one Rush is wrong. If he's saying as call stimulus or really believes it doesn't matter.it's disgusting. Any man who knows of child rape and doesn't stop it one way or another IMMEDIATELY might as well be carrying out the crime themselves PERIOD. Jo Pa knew and didn't stop it. He is as guilty as Sandusky!
Just finished Joe Posnanski EXCELLENT book on Joe Paterno. Based on my research and knowledge, along with closely following his career for 60+ years, I think it is an honest and incredibly accurate picture of a great man. In my opinion, Joe Paterno was the greatest football coach ever, college or professional and a wonderful human being. Despit the efforts of small, evil spirited people such as that lying creep Louie Freeh and his BS Report, cowards like the entire PSU Board of trustees lked by another ignorant jerk John Surma of US Stee, Pennsylvania's weasel Goveneor Tom Corbett and the hundreds of second and third rate Sports Writers and radio hosts such as Angelo Cataldi of WIP Sports Radio in Philly or writers Bob Ford, Frank Fitzpatrick and others of the Philadelphia Inquirer or even phony self serving *** Vicky Triponey in the PSU Student Affairs office, I believe Paterno did what he was supposed to do. Apparently everyone held JoPa to a different standard. Merely following the law was not su ...
if Jerry Sandusky got the charges reduce to child endangerment then joe pa statue would still be there
I don't know if i want to be a good person anymore. Two great men have been dragged through the mud by the media and false accusers in the past year and a half. After the millions of dollars he raised for cancer research and despite passing every drug test he ever took, people are still trying to prove Lance Armstrong cheated and for what? Also, after raising millions of dollars for the university and having the highest rate of graduation in college football while helping countless players become people who have lived good lives because of his direction Joe Paterno is falsely accused of covering up for Jerry Sandusky conveniently after he has died and cannot defend himself, and why? What good does that do to anybody? What more did these men have to do to be allowed to be looked up to. What message is this sending? The more good you do, the more people think you are an evil person? Is it so hard to believe that these men were good people and that they must have had something wrong with them because nobody ...
People comparing Lance Armstrong to Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno: do us all a favor and kill yourselves. You're too stupid to live.
sports are messed up! They strip Penn State of all their wins punishing players that had nothing to do with what was going on tear down Joe Paterno's statue all bc jerry sandusky is a fruit and likes little boys. They strip the greatest ever Lance Armstrong of his 7 tour de france victorys when he passed every drug test while cycling! can you even name another cycler!?!? didnt think so! but yet these baseball players juice themselves up and help their team beat teams that arnt jacked up on roids and only get a 50 game suspension!?!? why doesnt their team have to give up all their wins and draft picks or recieve a post season ban i mean you cheated and beat other teams by cheating and you get to keep your wins!? and make the playoffs!? but you take away everything and act like peoples teams didnt exist when they didnt do anything hmmm. I know life isnt fair but *** get it together!
A longtime Penn State University professor wrote a letter earlier this month recounting his last conversation with former head football coach Joe Paterno that bolsters claims by university administrators that they were not made aware that an incident in the locker room showers in 2001 involving Jerr...
Penn State football players will have a blue ribbon on the back of their helmets to show support for child abuse victims. Athletic Director Dave Joyner made the announcement on a Penn State football radio show Thursday night. The team had announced earlier this month the addition of the ribbon, but it was not clear exactly where on the uniform it would be placed. Players' names are also being added to football jerseys - what amounts to a drastic change at Penn State, where the team has long been associated with plain, blue-and-white, no-name jerseys. The generic look was associated with the buttoned-down style of the late Joe Paterno, who was fired as coach last year after retired defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky was arrested on child molestation charges.
Holly Swanson: The Problem with Paterno-Blame by Holly Swanson on August 23, 2012 7:18 AM This is not the column I wanted to write. I talked myself out of it several times, but kept coming back to it because it’s that important. I will likely gain no friends by writing it, but I'm going to say it anyway. Joe Paterno is not the bad guy. I’ve had this opinion since November, but then I read the Freeh Report. Or, rather, I read the summary of the Freeh Report. It horrified me. I couldn't believe that Penn State leaders like Graham Spanier, Tim Curley, Gary Schultz and Paterno deliberately created a cover-up to protect Jerry Sandusky. But the evidence was apparently there. The Freeh summary said Paterno even knew about the 1998 shower incident and followed the investigation closely, but took no action. The full Freeh Report is a time-consuming read at 267 pages. Since my kids demanded my attention, I had to wait several hours before I could go through the report in its entirety. If you haven’t read my c ...

In the aftermath of the Jerry Sandusky scandal last November, longtime Penn State coach Joe Paterno lamented that he wished he had done more to prevent the sexual abuse of 10 young boys. On Wednesday night’s episode of “ABC Nightly News” former PSU President Graham Spanier offered a similar plea. “I...

Judge agrees no feasible evidence in Freeh Report presented... Could sanctions, Paterno Legacy be regained? Two Penn State trustees who attended the news conference today called by former university President Graham Spanier's attorneys to respond to an internal investigation into the handling of the Jerry Sandusky child sexual abuse scandal found they had something in common with Spanier. None of them are ready to accept the findings by former FBI director Louis Freeh that insisted Spanier, former football coach Joe Paterno, Athletic Director on leave Tim Curley and former vice president Gary Schultz covered up a report of a child molestation to protect the university's reputation. Recently elected trustee Anthony Lubrano said following the news conference called by attorney Timothy in Philadelphia, "I have said that the conclusions reached by Louis Freeh are based on a very small number of unspecified emails and not in evidence, so I don't agree with his conclusions.” Today we heard from Judge Lewis an ...
for those asking if any major media, they of the MEDIA MALPRACTICE job on all things Penn State is picking up on the Presser today which shreds the Freeh Report: this form Anthony Villiotti to air starting Wednesday, August 22 on “World News with Diane Sawyer,” ESPN, “Nightline,” and Continuing on “Good Morning America,” and “Good Afternoon America” on Thursday, August 23 as well as across all ABC News platforms including ABC Radio, News One, ABCNews.com and Yahoo! . In an exclusive television interview to air tonight, ABC News’ Josh Elliott speaks with Dr. Graham Spanier, the embattled former president of Penn State, in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal. For the first time viewers will hear, in his own words, his version of the events that allegedly took place under his leadership. Dr. Spanier will answer questions about what he knew and when he knew it and discuss the late Joe Paterno’s knowledge and involvement in the situation. Paterno’s dismissal after 45 years ...

Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno. Baconator + Son of Baconator. They're the best team since _ + _.
What a shame! All these self-righteous high minded people should take a look at their own lives to see if they are squeaky clean before they make judgements on others. Jerry Sandusky abused the boys, not Joe Paterno. What did they want him to do..Ray Gricar did not pursue, campus police did not pursue in years past, Gary Shultz did not pursue, and sorry folks..The buck stops at Graham Spanier! No matter what anyone else said or did or did not do, he was the President of PSU and the responsibility was his. HE should not be on the faculty and Joe is dead and cannot defend himself.

Everybody knows that Coach Joe Paterno's renowned statue was removed from its place of honor by Penn State due to the Jerry Sandusky boy-touching disgrace. Well, Penn State has decided to re-erect the statue. They are putting it in the library as a reminder to "Keep Quiet!"
Family pushed Joe Paterno to read Jerry Sandusky report
Jeffrey Ross doing Joe Paterno and Jerry Sandusky jokes on the Roseanne roast - very funny.
Is it me or has everyone forgotten about Bernie Fine and Jim Boeheim because of Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno?
While family members and confidants saw the severity, Joe Paterno initially didn’t understand the magnitude of what was swirling around him last November following the release of the grand jury presentment that was used to indict Jerry Sandusky.
Joe Paterno had to be prodded by his family to read the grand jury report regarding Jerry Sandusky and did not understand some of its graphic terminology, according to a new book.
ok lol! Good to know :) As long as Jerry Sandusky & Joe Paterno aren't under my bed I feel safe!
Here is my list of thing I am tired of constantly hearing about; The Olympics, Shark Week, Jerry Sandusky, Joe Paterno, The Crumbling Economy, The Election.guess I am going to have to avoid television, radio, newspapers, internet, the mailbox...Hey at least the Olypmics are over
According to excerpts from GQ, Joe Paterno sobbed uncontrollably when he met with his former staff Nov. 10, the day after he was fired. This was five days after child sex abuse charges were brought against former Nittany Lion assistant Jerry Sandusky, leading to Paterno, school President Graham Spanier, and Athletic Director Tim Curley all losing their jobs. Personally, I couldn't care less. I'm quite sure those kids did a lot of sobbing too--while Joe was living the high life for 15 freakin' years.
doesn't understand the blowback over Jeffrey Ross's Joe Paterno outfit and jokes about Jerry Sandusky and the Aurora Shootings. What does anyone expect when watching a roast?:)
Anybody that buys Jerry Sandusky's book is contributing to the heinous behavior of a true and real life monster. Jerry Sandusky has to be one of THE most sinister, creepy, malicious, soul stealing fiends that this earth has ever been plagued with. For this man to profit in anyway for inflicting everlasting scars on children who trusted him is a crime in itself. For ANYONE that was involved in this to gain financially is a testament to the selfish, morally depraved individuals that they are. People may argue that their jobs were at stake but I would rather be unemployed and homeless but sleeping at night rather than haunted by my conscience and the eyes of empty children. Some may also say Joe Paterno was a great man, in some ways that may be true.however he was one of the many who knew what was being done to those children and stood by and did nothing. I think the priest in my favorite movie "Boondock Saints "said it best. "...Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil, which ...
Parts of Joe Paternos biography are being released tomorrow...here is a sneak peak.. Biographer..."Joe, what is the differnece between Jerry Sandusky and acne?" Paterno..."Acne waits until a little boy is at least 13 years old before it comes all over his face."
Joe Paterno was inconsolable the day after he was fired at Penn State. That is among revelations from a biography due out in August, an excerpt of which is published in GQ magazine.
Here is a good one!...Just heard on the news that Jerry Sandusky while in a jail is writing a book ! In case you live under a rock, he is the creep molesting young boys at Penn State! Would anyone buy it and if Joe Paterno was alive would he co - author it? He was just as guilty !
I was watching the news and they said that Jerry Sandusky is planning 2 write a book! I'm like what he's going 2 write a book on what that he raped little kids and cost Joe Paterno his career and life are u kidding me do anybody want 2 respond 2 this madness?

Jerry Sandusky is said to be writing a book telling his side of the story. Wonder who he expects to buy his book? With Penn State back in the news, I had a thought this morning. Joe Paterno would have made a great President. Penn State never lost a game that wasn’t the fault of someone else (according to Paterno). They never lost to a better team. It was always the fault of someone else they lost!
Our friend from Pittsburgh, Mark Madden, joins D&C to give his take on the Joe Paterno/Penn State Scandal and says Jerry Sandusky may have been 'Pimping Out Young Boys to Rich Donors.'
Isn't it just awesome how well the "Media" keeps everyone informed - All the schools that teach journalism should give themselves a pat on the back and we - the American public should give them a standing ovation! A study done surrounding the Jerry Sandusky case illustrates how well our journalist are doing at keeping us accurately informed... Let me share some of the results. 1) 68% overall believe a coach was fired at PSU for abusing young boys - when in fact - Syracuse would be the correct answer - 1% knew that 2) Only 55% believe Joe Paterno did not abuse young boys 3) 53% Believe Jerry Sandusky was still coaching at PSU when Mike M saw him with a young boy in the shower 4) Only 10% are aware that Jerry was acquitted of what Mike M testified he saw. 5) 67% are not aware of the fact that the victim identified by Mike M never came forward and testified. 6) Only 15% of the people were aware of the fact that the Freeh Report did not include interviews from the 5 closest people associated with the case 7) ...
Joe Paterno vs. Michael Jackson vs. Bill Clinton Now that the dust has settled a bit on the Jerry Sandusky situation, I hope critical thinking overcomes knee-jerk emotionalism. The accomplishments of all three of these people should be acknowledged and respected while their foibles should be condemned and tempered by an attempt to understand. By his own admission, Paterno stated he didn’t do enough yet following his death, his wins were negated. This did not punish him but an entire university, the school’s football players, fans, and the past, present and future students. Michael Jackson faced several trials for child abuse. Following his death, his Grammys, gold & platinum records, and other accomplishments were not stripped from his legacy. Sheryl Crow honors him in her shows and Spike Lee is producing a Broadway special. Bill Clinton, as president, had “sexual relations” with Monica Lewinski. But his lapse of moral and ethical character witnesses him flat out lying about it to the American peo ...
Jerry Sandusky questioning by Joe Paterno: "What's your background, coach?" "I have a bachelor's in debauchery, with a minor in minors," said Sandusky.
I just read the most unreal comics blog post about Joe Kubert. It really became more of an op-ed piece about his disgust at all the creators involved with the "Before Watchmen" project, but what makes me ill is at the end he likened the fans who gave these creators a pass for working in this with the people who have given Joe Paterno a pass for his ignoring the actions of Jerry Sandusky at Penn State. I don't want to put up the post because I dodnt want to advertise for the guy. If you want to read it...send me a message and I'll point you the way. P.S. Here's an opinion for ya' -- I wanna punch this *** blogger in the face.
The great Jeff Ross dressed up as Joe Paterno escorted by Jerry Sandusky's kids.
I'm going to dress up as Jerry Sandusky for halloween, and when people come up to me and tell me they don't like my costume. I'm going to tell them "Do what Joe Paterno did, look away"
Someone turn the lights up please. Gilbert Gottfried can't see anything apparently.. Jesus, you are a creepy, homely *** Gilbert. Gilbert is such a creep. Joe Paterno had him banned from Penn State's campus... Jerry Sandusky's wife even thought he was a little weird... She wouldn't even let him play 'tickle monster' with all the little boys in Her Husband's basement fun room... too soon? Gilbert you creep... Gilbert is on a watch list in 'Farmville'. I'm not saying Gilbert is a child molester... I'm saying it's a matter of public record. Google it.. and what a cheap *** too. Gilbert even charged all his victims for the candy he offered...Gilbert Gottfried has harmed more Jewish children than Adolph Hitler. It's true.. mainly because 'The Holocaust' was hoax.. But regarless, Gilbert's 'stranger danger' is REAL..
Vacating wins has nothing to do with what Jerry Sandusky did. They ruined Joe Paterno's legacy forevChppXw

Penn State's $60 Million NCAA Sandusky Fine Should Go To Child Abuse Victims, Prosecutors Say Pennsylvania prosecutors are pushing for part of the $60 million fine imposed on Penn State University for its poor handling of the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal to go directly to victims and to provide more child-advocacy centers in the state. “Too many children of sexual abuse don’t have access to these much needed services due to the lack of dedicated funding stream and the current limitations,” Shawn C. Wagner, president of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association said. PHOTOS: Disney's Most Scandalous & Scandal Free Stars Several top Penn State officials, including legendary coach Joe Paterno, were harshly criticized by an internal University report for knowing that Sandusky was sexually molesting children and doing nothing to stop it out of fear its football program would be hurt. And the story hasn't ended. As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported on Friday, the name of a prominent Penn St ...
How about we wind the clock back about 10 months and see who it was that took the criminal case against Jerry Sandusky and turned it into a Penn State Football/Joe Paterno scandal? Start there to begin the investigation on where the real cover up is occurring.
Gerald Arthur "Jerry" Sandusky (born January 26, 1944[2]) is a retired American football coach and convicted serial child molester. Sandusky served as an assistant coach for his entire career, mostly at Pennsylvania State University under Joe Paterno (from 1969 to 1999), and was one of the most nota...
I know this is late, but is it not total bullcrap that all Penn State wins have been vacated? Joe Paterno isn't Jerry Sandusky. That needs to be remembered
To my friends who do not live in State College (Happy Valley) and who don’t have access to the large amount of public and non-public information about the Sandusky case: Jerry Sandusky is the child molester who was found guilty on 45 of 48 counts of child abuse. The 600,000 living PSU alumni, 44,000 PSU students and the 20,000 current PSU staff are NOT pedophiles. The NCAA vacated 112 football victories. This is totally illogical. The NCAA claimed the “cover up” started in 1998. This is not true. In 1998 the County District Attorney (Ray Gricar) was investigating a complaint from the mother of an alleged victim. No charges were filed so at that point there was no “cover up” (except maybe by Ray Gricar, currently missing and declared dead in 2011). Joe didn’t pay 13 football players approximately $47,000 (the offense that got SMU the “death penalty”). Joe Paterno was not all-powerful at PSU. He vigorously opposed the Baseball Stadium but it was built anyway. In 2002 assistant coach Mike Mc ...
To call Penn State's off-season tumultuous would be a gross understatement. Since November, the many tributaries of the Jerry Sandusky scandal have dominated every second of Penn State conversation. And from the firing and death of Joe Paterno to the...
When your coaches are jerry sandusky, Joe Paterno, and come talk to me.
Penn State is appealing the sanctions that the NCAA handed down to them some 2 weeks ago... I believe that the NCAA was trying to be a bully about this whole thing from the start... Yes Jerry Sandusky did a HORRIBLE thing, and he should pay dearly, dont get me wrong on this i am NOT defending him, what i AM defending is the man who BUILT Penn State, the man who BUILT the library, because education was important to him, the man who BUILT and put the football program on the map! That man is no longer here, and can not defend himself, therefore the sanctions levied against him, Joe Pa, should be taken away... Give the victims the money, but taking away scholarships and wins, who is that ultimately hurting? Especially in a country that is in an economical crisis, c'mon really?
The ABC News product increasingly ceases to be journalism. It is sensationalism. It is reprehensible. It’s time to let ABC News feel the sting of public along with CNN. disapproval CNN with their BS. J Walton wasn't *** enough for CNN, so he resigned...Anderson Cooper to too *** to send to the middle east again for fear he will be killed and the chicken hawks at CNN that selling chicken sandwiches has something to do with sodomy may-be they should give a open interview with the coach jerry Sandusky ( convicted serial child molester ) and he's in jail for what being for boy's or for being caught just like coach Joe Paterno may-be offended of what he witnessed, but looked the other way like it was OK I'll assume it wasn't over chicken sandwiches may-be if he didn't die they would be sharing the same cell.
You bashed Joe Paterno for not stopping Jerry Sandusky will you not stand against the Pope for doing the same thing?
In the past year, former assistant coach, Jerry Sandusky, was arrested and convicted of sexually molesting boys. The media narrative largely succeeded in pinning culpability of Sandusky's crimes on former coach Joe Paterno. The Freeh Report was commissioned to investigate what, exactly, happened. Its findings were condemning, but were not adequately supported by its 267 pages of evidence. The media chose not to read the report, electing instead to continue the dominant narrative of a football program out of control. The NCAA quit its own investigation into the Penn State Football program midway through, lazily accepting the findings of the Freeh Report. As a result, the NCAA bypassed it's own structures for due process and missions, overreaching its limits to impose unprecedented sanctions. These sanctions included the vacating of 111 wins between 1998 and 2011, a $60 million dollar fine to be given to child abuse foundations, loss of ten scholarships per year for four years, and ineligibility to pl ...
Sorry to feel this way but I noticed Curt Schilling's banner on the wall-of-fame when walking into McCoy Stadium. I truly think it should be taken down. First of all, not sure of the number of games he pitched there but It was all after the bloody sock ??? debacle in 2004 and extending into 2005 and the other thing is how I get an eerie feeling of Joe Paterno and Jerry Sandusky. Penn State did the right thing in removing any remembrance of those two so why can't the Pawsox do the same. I am sure nobody will call them out on it but I will.
The victims of Jerry Sandusky want their lives back. The relatives of Joe Paterno want their victories back. Compassion? Looks like it skipped every generation of the Paterno family, which sent a letter to the NCAA on Friday demanding an appeal of the sanctions levied July 23 against Penn State -- and against Joe Paterno. The NCAA swatted the letter down, saying the sanctions aren't subject to appeal.
Joe Paterno's family said it planned to appeal the sanctions imposed by the NCAA against Penn State for the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal. The governing body's response: Don't bother.
Hello Everyone: The Paterno, Family is fighting the NCAA decision to State Collage's Sandusky's Scandale. They want all Joe Pa's Victories returned to their original status. They want his good name returned also. And maybe get his Statue put back where it once was. I for one, want an honest appeal also. Maybe bring closure to the Scandal, and put behind bars, everyone who is connected to the cover up. I mean everyone who saw the Molestation's take place, who were told about the scandal and did nothing to stop it. From, Governor Corbett, to the least Secretary who typed memo's, or took dictation. To Campus police, to the person who hired Jerry Sandusky, without a criminal back ground check.. How he was able to start a the Second Mile School, with his bad back ground. The Judges who were told by the mother's of some of these kids that Jerry Sandusky, was a child predator. I mean when the new President of Penn State Collage, signed that NCAA, agreement, he did everyone involve in this scandal a favor. ...
The family of Joe Paterno notified the NCAA on Friday of its intent to appeal major sanctions imposed on Pennsylvania State University last week by the regulatory body resulting from the Jerry Sandusky case.
Penn State Scandal. Now that Jerry Sandusky has been convicted in the criminal trial, the civil lawsuits filed by several of his victims will move forward. We expect that the civil lawsuits will result in the discovery of more information concerning the alleged cover up by high ranking Penn State officials, including the late Coach Joe Paterno. Unless the cases are settled quickly, there will be numerous depositions taken of Penn State officials and employees who have knowledge of Sandusky's relationship with Penn State. We fully expect that Sandusky will be required to give sworn testimony as well.
This website is dedicated to the notion that an out of control news media has created a false narrative in the Jerry Sandusky scandal, which has effectively framed Joe Paterno for crimes he didn't commit and of which he may have had very limited knowledge. This has resulted in an unjust destruction ...
The ghost of Joe Paterno tells Jerry Sandusky to hurry up and die.
The University of Southern California for real football violations has been punished with a ban on bowl games and a loss of scholarships.and is now on probation. Now they are rewarded with the gain of Silas Redd because of Penn State's non football problems... This is hypocrisy . Penn State's problem is not its Football Team ... The problem is Penn State's Administration who did not properly know how to deal with Jerry Sandusky... Joe Paterno is being thrown under the bus because of this affair. The action taken against him is extremely unfair. He did what he had to do under the law. The only thing else he could do was to protest the lack of action by higher ups by resigning... And if he did that Penn State would be loser from that action.
The famed statue of Joe Paterno was taken down from outside the Penn State football stadium Sunday as the NCAA announced it would be issuing sanctions against the university whose top officials were accused in a scathing report of burying child sex abuse allegations against a now-convicted ret...
Joe Paterno & Jerry Sandusky tried converting me from a "Tight-End" to a "Wide-Receiver". Without even offering me a scholarship! Now I know the true meaning of "Happy Valley"
Do people out there remember that Joe Pa was not the only person involved in this horror story that Jerry Sandusky created. NO! It is just easier to attack the dead and run their name and reputation through the mud because they are not here to keep the information in context. Thank You God for not having Joe Pa have to endure all of this mess, you know that his work was for the betterment of Penn State. I certainly hope that those athletes that unknowingly got caught up in this will not let this keep them from their goals. To the young men that were "mentored" by this devil man I am VERY sorry for your unthinkable experience and I hope that with God's help and guidance you will someday be able overcome this.
Sean Payton is the NFL equivalent to Joe Paterno, and you are Jerry Sandusky.
Number of wins Joe Paterno had to vacate: 111. Number of times Jerry Sandusky has already been made someones' girlfriend in prison: 111.
The media says Joe Paterno and Penn State is FOOTBALL ORIENTED ? City of Grambling wants Paterno record vacated By DAVID BRANDT (AP Sports Writer) | The Associated Press – Thu, Jul 19, 2012 6:45 PM EDT An attorney for the city of Grambling, La., has asked the NCAA infractions committee to vacate some of Joe Paterno's record 409 Division I victories. Grambling is the home of Grambling State University. Coach Eddie Robinson led Grambling to 408 victories during his career with the Tigers, a total that was passed by Paterno less than two weeks before he was fired as the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal broke. City attorney Pamela Breedlove said she filed the request with the approval of Mayor Edward Jones because the university is such a valued and important part of the city. The Shreveport (La.) Times first reported the request. Breedlove said she did not have an opinion about how many victories should be vacated. The three-page request she sent to the NCAA details the city's position, which says th ...
Kip and Dinah Libman: Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno, YOU SPENT YOUR ENTIRE LIVES RESPECTING US WHEN THE REALITY IS WE WERE DEPRAVED CHILD ABUSING LIARS. Well, now you know the truth. Vacate our wins and take down the statue, the party is over.
and from the U.S. NEWS Joe Paterno Is the NCAA's Scapegoat July 25, 2012 The NCAA came down *** the Pennsylvania State University Monday—and deservedly so in the minds of many people. Whatever one may think about the report compiled by former FBI Director Louis Freeh, it certainly does appear that senior university officials did what they could to keep the truth about former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky from becoming known. Much of the attention—and the punishment—has focused on Joe Paterno, the legendary former coach who, until Monday, was the "winningest coach" in college football history. Paterno was fired after the Sandusky scandal became public and died shortly thereafter, meaning he's not around to defend himself. His statue has been taken down. He has lost his status as "the winningest coach" because the NCAA stripped Penn State of all its victories between 1998 and 2011. In short, he's being made into a convenient scapegoat for the NCAA and for university officials who want to pu ...
It was reported that Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno were very religious men. Why would that be a surprise.
The case against Joe Paterno: Weak to non-existent on the current record I haven’t followed the Penn State child molestation scandal closely. My interest in sports is an interest in sports, not investigations of crimes by people involved (or formerly involved) with sports. Nonetheless, I am aware that a consensus exists that Former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno acted improperly in connection with Penn State’s response to allegations of child molestation committed by one-time assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. This consensus led to the removal of a statue of Paterno, whose contributions to Penn State as a coach and financial contributor were enormous. The consensus emerged from the report of Louis Freeh regarding Penn State’s actions related to the sexual abuse committed by Sandusky. But a friend of mine — a top-notch lawyer and former federal prosecutor — has carefully reviewed the Freeh Report. He concludes that the Report does not establish wrongdoing by Joe Paterno. Having now looked at ...

A man who claims to be the unknown victim molested in a Penn State shower by Jerry Sandusky in a case that led to Joe Paterno's firing intends to sue the university for its egregious and reckless conduct that facilitated the abuse, his lawyers said Thur
Jerry Sandusky was convicted Friday of sexually assaulting 10 boys over 15 years, accusations that shattered the Happy Valley image of Penn State football and led to the firing of Hall of Fame coach Joe Paterno. Sandusky, a retired defensive coach, was found guilty of 45 of 48 counts.
The Walking Doctor was a drug. I was just reading about how Penn State is removing Joe Paterno’s statue from the campus, his halo has been removed from a mural on campus, while Jerry Sandusky likeness was removed from a mural downtown. Penn State’s library is still named for Paterno, but probably won’t be for long. To be sure all of it has been reluctantly done but they are doing it. Compare that to the LAUSD’s response to having a drug dealer depicted on a mural on an elementary school.Micheltorena Elementary in Silver Lake.. The mural is on Sunset Blvd. The news broke over 2 years ago when the guy killed himself, but his picture is still up. There has been no attempt to cover it up. The principal of the school knows who the guy turned out to be. The LAUSD could care less what is on their school walls or so it would seem. The guy was very well known in the Silver Lake area. He was known as ‘The Walking Doctor’. The LA Times wrote at the time that he walked all over the neighborhood ...
You know whats really funny? According to several sources, Franco Harris, some guy who READ the Freeh Report that wrote a letter to the editor in the CDT, there is actually NO proof of a cover up at Penn State. Hmm, so, we have no proof that Joe Paterno did anything that he wasn't LEGALLY OBLIGATED to do, yet, the NCAA penalizes Penn State AND they take down the statue! Doesn't that sound like they are acting like Joe is just as guilty as Jerry Sandusky? Hm
Of the child sexual assault charges against Former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky, the fact that stands out most is that Joe Paterno, Tim Curley and Gary Schultz were aware of incidents as early as 2002. Curley testified to the grand jury that he "advised Sandusky that he was prohibited from bringing youth onto the Penn State campus from that point forward." Seven years later, in the summer of 2009, Sandusky was still hosting overnight camps for children as young as 9 at other Penn State schools.
Ever since it became public knowledge in November that Joe Paterno didn't do everything he could to stop former assistant Jerry Sandusky from sexually abusing boys at Penn State football facilities, organizations have been rethinking the honors given the longtime Nittany Lions coach. For the upcomi...
I have been watching with great interest the saga at Penn State University. I have mixed feelings about it. I do believe that severe penalties were needed, because of the rules violations. However, I believe that vacating all Penn State wins since 1998 was extreme because it not only punished Joe Paterno and the university, but also the student athletes. Those athletes were not involved in the Sandusky scandal. It is obvious this was done solely to deprive Joe Paterno of his all-time win record. Jerry Sandusky is exactly where he belongs.
This will proably stir up some good conversation and comments: In MY OPINION I feel that the sanctions against Penn State are a little overboard, this is why. The kids that are on the Penn State Football Team now are the ones being penalized along with all of those who played that had there wins vacated. They did nothing wrong. This is not an issue with the football program, its a institutional and moral issue. They did not break any rules pretaining to the eligibility of the players or any recruiting violations, none of what happened helped them win any games or gain any recruits. The people that need to be punished are, Jerry Sandusky, he will be prison for a very very long time, Joe Paterno, he is dead, Graham Spainer President of college at that time, Gary Schultz, VP at that time, and Tim Curly, AD at that time, all of these guys are the ones responsable for what happened not the players on previous teams or the current players. This is just a Knee jerk reaction to a very bad situation. So maybe they ...
One of the most baffling mysteries (there are many) of the Jerry Sandusky scandal is how Joe Paterno, according to the "conventional wisdom" of the story, suddenly became a completely different person for the last decade of his career than he seemed to be for the first five. Paterno's many detract...

The horror of the Jerry Sandusky crimes committed against young boys is almost too much to believe. But Sandusky is off to prison where he will experience a living *** for however much longer he lives. Joe Paterno's legacy is now one of shame and disgust.
There's only one honest way to look at the punishments slapped on Penn State: The NCAA set out to create a losing program, and it went about the task systematically, with all the subtlety of a watermelon being tossed from the back of a moving pickup. Forget NCAA president Mark Emmert's talk of "reform." This wasn't reform; this was after-the-fact, frontier-style revenge. Jerry Sandusky and Penn State embarrassed and disgusted the *** out of the NCAA, the Big Ten and just about everybody who ever uttered the phrase "success with honor" within a 200-mile radius of Happy Valley. A whole bunch of someones had to pay for this, and the NCAA decided it would start with the legacy of Joe Paterno (already shredded) and knock down the rest of the dominoes from there. It would have been neater and more humane to have imposed a one-year death penalty on the Penn State program-- and that's exactly why the NCAA didn't do it. The entities in the corner offices in Indianapolis wanted to make Penn State suffer, and the b ...
What does one guy molesting little boys back in 1998 have to do with past, current, and future players for Penn State football program. I feel like they are penalizing the wrong people, Joe Pa already died, Jerry Sandusky deserves death, but the students of that school dont deserve any of this..
Former Penn State Assistant Football coach Jerry Sandusky derserves to spend the rest of his life in prison. What I can't understand is why over 100 of Joe Paterno's victories were vacated. What purpose does this serve? In addition, the team can't participate in any bowl games for 4 years. Why should the players be penalized as they had no part in Sandusky's actions?
Today the NCAA vacated 111 wins from Joe Paterno because of the Jerry Sandusky scandal. Which makes former Grambling State Head Football Coach Eddie Robinson back on top as the NCAA all time winningest Division I coach
So you do not believe Joe Paterno & Board members covered up Jerry Sandusky's actions? Are you a Penn State alum?
Now that they've removed Joe Paterno's statue & rightfully so they should put it in a jail cell right alongside of Jerry Sandusky's cell
- Removed Statue of Joe Paterno to Be Placed In Jerry Sandusky’s *** can always hope, can't we?)
ok Joe Paterno was fired for the jerry sandusky sex abuse and what about the Syracuse and john boeheim with berry fine
Penn State workers remove Joe Paterno How about they bring it right down to Jerry Sandusky"s cell and lodge it into his
Wrote a column about PSU, Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno situation. In today's TMN and tomorrow's JT sports. Pretty proud of it.
To all the sycophants who are more concerned about the Penn State football program, and Ole' Joe's wins record, lets step back for a moment. In 1998 (likely prior as well) Jerry Sandusky raped and molested young boys. In 1998 it’s been proven that systematically, high ranking officials and now, disgraced coach Joe Paterno, covered up the allegations and eye witness accounts to protect a football program and its 60 million dollar a year revenue stream. A once famed head-coach and school officials, put a price-tag on the rape of children. It sickens me that all the reports focus on the loss to PSU and what it means for the future of their Football Team. Many young boys loves were irreparably harmed because a school put money and a game ahead of the innocence of a child.
Maybe they should melt the Joe Paterno statue down and make Jerry Sandusky the new anal iron man.
What Jerry Sandusky did was a heinous crime which he will die in prison from. Joe Paterno, other coaches and the head of the athletic department all covered these horrible crimes up for years, which they should be punished in a tremendous way. I dont feel that the NCAA has any place in punishing Penn State for these crimes. The sanctions put on Penn State hurt people who were not even involved in these crimes; students, former, current and future football players; also student athletes that play other sports at Penn State. What is the $60 million dollars going towards, and why does the NCAA get to decide what it goes towards, this should be a pennslyvania legislative decision. This is a public university so those funds are from tax payers. What do these sanctions fix? This wasnt an NCAA violation, this was a violation of national govt laws. Innocent people should not be hurt from the terrible actions of others.
Penn State joke I just read... Joe Paterno's family issued a statement blasting the NCAA for vacating 111 wins by Paterno in response to the Jerry Sandusky scandal. The statement came as a surprise since it showed someone named Paterno was actually paying attention to what was going on.

Still trying to figure out why the NCAA vacated all Penn State wins since 1998. I get the penalties...the fines...the taking away of scholarships...they all make sense. Punish the program for their clear covering up of the horrible behavior of Jerry Sandusky. But unlike other school problems, this has 100% zero to do with the on-the-field play of the game of football. Whereas, for example, USC was hit with major penalties because they paid a player to play in games...he played in games...and he was the best college football player that year...thus winning the Heisman Trophy. USC cheated and it helped them win. Somebody please explain to me how a single win since 1998 was helped in any way by covering up Sandusky's behavior. To me, and I am no huge PSU fan, it is overly punitive and it was done for one reason and one reason alone...to remove Joe Paterno's name from the top of the all-time coaches list. And to me, while I think Paterno is deplorable for his actions and his legacy is tarnished forever, ...
Want to smack Stephen A. Smith. Joe Paterno is dead. Jerry Sandusky is in jail. The FORMER A.D., V.P., and President of Penn State have been removed and will probably serve jail time for the cover up of the molestation of those kids in 1998. How can anyone in good conscience punish the kids playing football NOW? It just doesn't make sense to punish innocent kids for the sins of people no longer involved with the university. Stephen A. Smith is calling for the Penn State football program to be shut down for this season and possibly next season as well. I disagree. I don't think that the football program should suffer for crimes committed by the FORMER leaders of that school.
I just heard about the Penn State penalty from the NCAA for the first time. I agree with the fine, loss of bowl appearances, and the loss of scholarships. However, I am adamitly opposed to what they did to Joe Paterno. They stripped him of every one of the school's wins since 1998 dropping him from on the all-time wins list to Joe Paterno is one of the legends in college football. He is dead so he can't defend himself. What does stripping him of his honor do for the situation? Jerry Sandusky is the bag guy here not Joe Paterno.
I can't believe that this craziness is going to continue! While I live in the general area surrounding Penn State, I have personally never been a fan. However I do respect the hard work put forth by the players and coachs to strive for excellence. Joe Paterno was a great coach and role model to many players who have become respectable men in the community. I truly personally apologize to Joe Paterno and his family for the witch hunt that is occurring now by the NCAA and Penn State. I am seriously disgusted. I hope that everyone can see the true criminal, Jerry Sandusky and make him pay for all the lives he continues to destroy!
So, they tore down the statue of Joe Paterno and shook up the Football Team at Penn State because Jerry Sandusky is a pedophile who used his position of power to molest children. Why haven't they done the same to the pope, bishops, monsignors, and other hierarchy of the Catholic Church? They are at least as guilty of the same crimes that Joe Paterno committed. If we fine a school's athletic department for the actions of one man, why do we not hold an entire institution accountable for the deeds of many men over the course of decades, perhaps even a hundred or more years, affecting thousands of innocent children? "Anna Christine Butterfield"
Man, I feel bad for joe pa. The man can't even defend himself because he is dead, and you've completely destroyed his legacy. Jerry Sandusky, you are a ***
The questions of what to do with convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky and the statue of the man who apparently knew but ignored his crimes, Joe Paterno, have finally been answered…and “combined.”
There's a special place in *** for Jerry Sandusky not only for malesting those children but for damaging the reputation Joe Paterno too that man gave his life to making kids into young men while coaching football at the same time smh makes me sick
Ok, I just have to give my reasoning one time as to why I'm with the NCAA and their penalties to Penn State. The problem here is the cover up and the reason for the cover up. In almost any other situation, Jerry Sandusky would have been turned in immediately with no regard for the "bad press" that would accompany it. The only reason that there was a cover up was because Penn State WORSHIPED Joe Paterno as well as the Football Team and that the "image" of Penn State would be damaged. All anyone cares about is the Football Team, the records, the bowls, etc. Even to this day. Looking at the student reaction to the penalties made me sick. How can you even care about football right now? You're a FAN!!! This is a GAME!!! All I heard was "well, Jerry Sandusky did it, why should the team lose all those wins?" This is the problem! All of you care about is the stupid record! Do you think the victims care about ruining JoePa's precious record?! Stop putting the Football Team and JoePa over everything e ...
I just saw the most beautiful thing on Headline News, Jerry Sandusky, in a prison uniform. I am not surprised to see the majority, regularly putting sports accomplishments over academics, however, when they value sports over vulnerable children, as all children are, it makes me sad to see what we have come to. Let no organization be above suspicion, and if found out, punish ALL who knew, as the pedophile, for they are as one. Rot in *** Joe Paterno, you did not suffer long enough on earth, and are no hero, you cowardly *** Let us all be accountable, look around, and trust your gut feeling.
I try to stay off my soapbox and no I'm not anti-football but. This morning I had a thought go through my head that I felt sorry that Joe Paterno's memory has been so ruined. Then the Holy Spirit spoke to me (Yes, He does that for Christians.) He reminded me of when the Israelites turned to Baal worship and sacrificed their own children to their false god. At Penn State, football became their god. Joe Paterno and others sacrificed the lives of several young boys on the altar of their god by putting the football program before their safety. This week, an idol came down and Jerry Sandusky, just like the Israelites often did, is led into captivity. When we allow anything to throw our moral compass off the mark, there is a price to be paid.
