Jeff Daniels is 16 years older than Emily Mortimer, just saying
Created by Aaron Sorkin. With Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, John Gallagher Jr., Alison Pill. A news anchor's life is stirred up when he's forced to work with a new team of colleagues.
Ray Donovan is amazing. I can only tolerate Olivia Munn, Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer and Sam Waterston, on the Newsroom.
Also, Emily Mortimer and Jeff Daniels are incredible in it. In short, really enjoyed The Newsroom. Sorry it took so long.
Jeff Daniels & Emily Mortimer, you are just too good !
I'm reasonably certain I now own The Newsroom because Emily Mortimer calls Jeff Daniels a punk in the first episode
Just been in the control room for News at One to learn about wearing a talk-back for Saturday. I feel like Jeff Daniels. Or Emily Mortimer.
Loving US TV Series, Emily Mortimer, Jeff Daniels & the rest playing a blinder. And it's really funny too. Watch it!
I find the scenes in 'The Newsroom' that don't feature Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer (or preferably both), incredibly uninteresting.
ten bucks if you cut and paste a Jeff Daniels or Emily Mortimer monologue from The Newsroom Season 1
The smart Munny’s on Sloan Sabbith: Although Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer were pegged as the drawcards in A...
primarily I watch the show for Emily Mortimer and Jeff Daniels drama, and Oliva Munn being bad with people.
is incredible. Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer are fire. Live broadcast is fascinating to me...
Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer hold together even on slow episodes. That end was stellar though.
Aaron Sorkin's dialogue is seriously brilliant. Emily Mortimer, Jeff Daniels, and John Gallagher Jr. pull it off impeccably.
The ensemble cast, led by Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, Olivia Munn, and so forth,

Drooling right meow thinking abt watching next week's episode of - I sort of Love Jeff Daniels. I mean Emily Mortimer.
For the record, I don't think The Newsroom is a good show, but I like Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, Olivia Munn, Dev Patel, & Jeff Daniels.
newsroom a little soapy but brilliant. actual report is the best part of the series so far. Emily Mortimer and Jeff Daniels have unreal chem
Watched the first episode of The Newsroom On Demand. I've always been a fan of Aaron Sorkin so I was intrigued to see the show. I'm hooked. It's classic Sorkin. It has the best elements of both The West Wing and Sports Night. Like most first episodes, this one builds its cast but it does so in a manic way that makes it interesting. I'm thinking, as in the West Wing, some of these supporting players are going to be more important come further episodes. I've always liked Jeff Daniels and he's in top form here as the anchor, an often unlikeable character, which is an accomplishment for an actor who's made a career from being likeable. I've never been a fan of Emily Mortimer but this show might change that. Sam Waterston is given something to do and is great at it, back to form as the actor he used to be and not the mumbling old man Law and Order relegated to the sidelines in its last seasons. Of course, the real star of the show is Sorkin's writing. At its best, it reminds me of old Hollywood and proper ...
Other DVD / Blu-ray titles to arrive in were "Stolen ," an action movie starring Nicholas Cage, and " For a Good Time Call. ", an R18 rated comedy. It could be a bit of a giggle. In DVD, we have also received a new TV drama called " The Newsroom ", starring Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer, and season five of "True Blood ", starring Anna Paquin and her hubby, and finally, a neat new kids animated movie called " Tad ". So with no rugby this Friday , reserve your fun times now.
On my TV blog, promo for S2 of The Newsroom w/ Jeff Daniels,Emily Mortimer,Sam Waterston, Marcia *** Harden+ more:
some brilliant stuff! Jeff Daniels killed it with Emily Mortimer :D
A visual summary of my evening with Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer.
Very strong performances throughout from Emily Mortimer and Sam Waterston in Such an awesome show!
Time to do the Marathon Series with Newsroom, Scandal and Fairly Legal. So love Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels), and MacKenzie McHale (Emily Mortimer). Thank you Aaron Sorkin.
Charlie Rose 6/22: A look at the new HBO series "The Newsroom" with creator Aaron Sorkin and actors Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer
crawling into bed with Aaron Sorkin, Jeff Daniels & Emily Mortimer. It's going to get crowded once Pepper gets here too. G'night, everybody!
two episodes. Jeff Daniels had me at Something Wild. And Emily Mortimer? Wow.
He did 'The Newsroom' with Emily Mortimer and 'Looper' with Emily Blunt. Jeff Daniels just needs to work with Emily Watson for a full set.
Giving "Newsroom" a second chance, but only for Emily Mortimer, Jeff Daniels, and Sam Waterston. Alison Pill can vanish in an earthquake.

Absolutely Love Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer are fantastic. Just watched episode 4...might be my new favorite show!
Oh my god, Sam Waterston and Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer. You just made me jump off my chair.
And now absolutely LOVING with Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer. brilliant show.
I second that sentiment. Jeff Daniels is a joy. Emily Mortimer a delight.
Kara Hylen - Started Newsroom last night. Love Sam Waterson, Emily Mortimer and Jeff Daniels. Easy sell for me! On to episode 2 tonight. Thanks for the suggestion.
I think my love for HBO's The Newsroom stems from wishing I was a journalist, better yet, a news producer like Holly Hunter in Broadcast News. At least I can watch Emily Mortimer and Jeff Daniels on tv. Maybe that's even better (and saner)...
With the exception of the annoying blonde girl, "Newsroom" is the greatest show on HBO right now. Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer are fantastic together
"speaking truth to stupid..." LOVE "Newsroom" on HBO. Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer tear it up with that SorkinSpeak. So satisfying.
Also the bit at the end of the penultimate act when Emily Mortimer essentially tries to convince Jeff Daniels to be Jed Bartlet.
Just realized that Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer on THE NEWSROOM remind me of James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal in SECRETARY.
Glad to hear that. Jeff Daniels has the leading role and Emily Mortimer, Alison Pill and Olivia Munn are also in it. It was
Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer are great, but I liked the way Peter Krause and Felicity Huffman did this dance better.
Watched the first two episodes of The Newsroom. Amazing. It's Aaron Sorkin so if you don't like heart-on-your sleeve, preachy, intellectualized talky talk then it probably isn't for you. I loved it however. Jeff Daniels is suprisingly good as is Emily Mortimer. I think Alison Pill could become a star (she was great in Scott Pilgrim)
-- You done good with The Newsroom. Emily Mortimer is so amazingly earnest. Jeff Daniels is perfect, even in his disdain. Fantastic!
I'll be curious how the rest of the episodes go... I like both Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer

is Jeff Daniels a nice guy? And is Emily Mortimer az annoying in real life as I suspect she is?
I'm enjoying the staff conflict but the relationship between Jeff Daniels and Emily mortimer is BORING
Love the show "Newsroom". Very witty and I Love Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer together!
The chemistry between Jeff Daniels & Emily Mortimer is nothing short of astonishing.
I'd like to see Emily Mortimer's character show her skills on the job, rather than defined by how she broke up w/Jeff Daniels.
I just finished watching the first episode of "The Network," Aaron Sorkin's new HBO-TV series about the tumultuous process of putting together a cable-TV news show. And all I can say is ... WOW! Jeff Daniels is brilliant as the anchor trying to rediscover his love of news reporting; Emily Mortimer shines as the ambitious executive producer who won't let a good story go uncovered; and Sam Waterston does some of his finest work here, as a news director who thinks Americans can be taught to care about "real news" again. A must-watch series!
Sorry Aaron Sorkin but I didn't feel the magic after watching The Newsroom. Where's the chemistry between Emily Mortimer and Jeff Daniels?
HBO's Newsroom would be about a bajillion times better if it starred Matthew Perry & Amanda Peet instead of Jeff Daniels & Emily Mortimer.
Just watched the pilot for Newsroom!!! Excellent show!! It's a great insight into how team works together to bring the news to us. Smart writing. Aaron Sorkin has to stick to television-I think he does better writing with it personally. Jeff Daniels will win the Golden Globe for this is my prediction. I like the Will McAvoy character alot. Emily Mortimer is really good as Mackenzie. The conversation/argument that Will and Mackenzie have in his office is very well done. The opening scene at the Northwestern panel-absolutely incredible. Very well done. I like Jim's character and I like the ambitions of Allison Pill's Maggie Jordan. I think Pill is cute too. I HATE Don!! You have to dislike somebody and for me that's the guy I hate. I am sure he issomebody's favorite at the moment, but the guy just drips *** I also think Sam Waterston does a pretty good job. All in all good cast with a great show filled with good writing. Definitely keeping up with this.
Last night watched new show from with Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer. Both were very good and top dialogue from Sorkin!
Newsroom -- the best f---ing show I've seen in years. Spoke to my core and totally moved me at the end. I cannot wait for Elizabeth to see this. Amazing writing. Jeff Daniels rocked and Emily Mortimer is simply adorable. Thank you, HBO, for hiring Thomas Newman to write the theme. Finally music that's uplifting and catchy -- can't get the tune out of my brain. Those Newman's are ridiculously talented! (Someone should hire one of them to score Game of Thrones)
OMG loved Newsroom! Emily Mortimer and Jeff Daniels are incredible. Obsessed.
So I finally got a chance to see the first episode of Sorkin's "The Newsroom". And to all those people who say it's just Sorkin stealing from himself? You're right. He's stealing ALL THE BEST PARTS of himself. I haven't seen Television this uplifting to the human spirit since The West Wing, and it has been sorely, sorely missed. You watch The Newsroom and you feel good about yourself and mankind, and most importantly you want to change the world. Jeff Daniels is fantastic (and I never thought I'd write that). Sam Waterston is what would happen if the Network President from "Network" actually had a spine to go with his basic ethics. John Gallagher is brilliant. The show suffers a little bit on the women... Emily Mortimer's main character attribute seems to be that she's quirky, and Alison Pill is basically Josh's intern from The West Wing transferred to Sorkin's new show. But they're not bad, I just hope to see them develop better in future episodes. It has all the hallmarks I expect of a Sorkin pilot. In ...
OMG! The debut episode of Aaron Sorkins new show 'The Newsroom' - incredible, slightly flawed at times, but just brilliant at others. Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer both give strong performances as did Alison Pill and John Gallagher Jr. in their supporting roles. As good an hour of TV since The West Wings 'POTUS' - highly recommended and I hope the series continues as well as its started! :)
The best thing on TV -- HBO's new series -- Newsroom!! Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer -- acting brilliance. This one's got it going on. Score one more for HBO.

This article on "How to write an Aaron Sorkin character name" is something I've noticed for years. Watching THE NEWSROOM pilot, it occurred to me if Emily Mortimer and Jeff Daniels' characters get married, her character's name would be MacKenzie McHale McAvoy, which is kind of awesome. Her nickname could be "Tri-Mack."
Watched "The Newsroom" last night--Outstanding! Aaron Sorkin at his best, and the cast--led by Jeff Daniels & Emily Mortimer--rocks!
Mary and I watched "The Newsroom" lat night (while eating homegrown lettuce made into a salad stuffed into pita bread -- Oh, yeah -- Mary, you're the best!). Man, I loved it (we loved it). Jeff Daniels is maybe my favorite actor, and he didn't disappoint (I kept thinking, "WHO does this guy REMIND me of?" -- but I never did figure it out :-) . Also love Emily Mortimer, and she's terrific in this show. And Sam Watterston -- a light touch -- very enjoyable! I loved the speech at the beginning, during McAvoy's meltdown. The coverage of the Deepwater Horizon was also very enjoyable -- what would it have been like if someone actually recognized the REAL story when the story broke? And it's funny. Was laughing throughout. Loved it, want to watch it again, want to watch more eps. TV made for me!
If you liked "the West Wing", "A Few Good Men, "Moneyball" and "The Social network" you'll love "The Newsroom". This show is amazing! The opening monologue is by far the best I've seen in quite a while. Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer are perfectly cast!
I just watched and say what you want about it as long as you say it is fantastic, Jeff Daniels was fantastic and Emily Mortimer was fantastic and the cast was fantastic. All in all, not bad.
Went to see a Sneak Preview of HBO's new The Newsroom with Jeff Daniels and Sam Waterston last night (Tuesday, June 19th). Excellent! Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) speaks his mind and is hard to get along with...but he grows on you. Charlie Skinner (Sam Waterston) is a lovable inebriated boss...about as far from Sam McCoy (Law & Order) as possible. Jeff Harper, Alison Pill, Emily Mortimer and the rest of the cast are outstanding. I know what I'll be watching on Sunday nights.
