So it's been awhile since Ryan Woodward and I have been to the movies but we just got back from Chasing Mavericks. It's a surfer movie based on the life of Jay Moriarty. It was an absolutely beautiful movie from start to finish. I laughed, I cried, and I fell in love with Jonny Weston (he played Jay). The kid is not only a brilliant surfer but an amazing actor. He totally reminded me of Tanner Beeston, not just because of the surfing but his goofy smile and his mannerisms. It was uncanny!! I looked up some of the reviews and they said it was kind of slow and boring but just because it's a surfer movie doesn't mean it has to be shot MTV style. Three thumbs up!!
