★★★ South Korean designer produces some pretty disturbing Manchester United fan art, ft Rooney & Fellaini ★★★ Some truly odd and disturbing fan art has been created by South Korean designer Sakiroo Choi. David De Gea, Marouane Fellaini, Nemanja Vidic, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez all feature, with particularly long muscular arms and angular facial features. Fellaini in particular looks bizarre and seems to only have been chosen for his fro, and has been given a pink nose for some reason. They do look pretty intense and ready for battle though, unlike their real-life versions. ♛♛♛ Simply Devilish Stuff ♛♛♛
Thought the announcer said that "Javier Hernandez" was figure skating for Spain instead of "Javier Fernandez" . . . I was like what, did he quit Manchester United and join the Olympics because take means you are guaranteed to compete against the best in Europe.
Arsenal among four clubs keen on unhappy Manchester United star. Arsenal are interested in the Manchester United Striker. Four European clubs, including Arsenal, are interested in signing Manchester United’s unsettled striker Javier Hernandez this summer. Report that the Mexican star is increasingly likely to leave Old Trafford after failing to hold down a first-team place under David Moyes. Hernandez has alluded to his unhappiness with his current predicament on several occasions in recent months, while a cryptic message on social media last weekend provided further evidence that the 25-year-old is seriously considering his options. Mexico boss Miguel Herrera also confirmed that his player is “frustrated” with his role as a Manchester United substitute. If reports are to be believed, Arsenal could be one potential destination for the live-wire striker, while Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and FC Porto have also signalled their interest. Hernandez, who has scored 57 goals in 141 matches since arrivi ...

The retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson may have come as a surprise to many supporters of Manchester United. However, it was certainly time for Ferguson to call it a day at Old Trafford, the Scotsman has struggled tactically in the past five years and hasn't looked the same as what he once was. When he moved to Old Trafford from Aberdeen in 1986, Sir Alex was faced with the task of bringing back glory to United. He initially struggled to deliver silverware but as soon as he got the first one the others followed quick, fast and consistently. He was also on the verge of losing his job as the Red Devil's boss but he managed to deliver when it matters most. Sir Alex had pictured Manchester United as a club that produce its own players from the youth academy and working their way into the first team. He was known to have trust and faith in young players as he had enjoyed success with Aberdeen with many young players. He set out to set up a strong academy at United and this was the basis upon which his success was ...

Manchester United TARGET EDISON CAVANI The Premier League champions have expressed their interest in signing the striker, who joined the French side from Napoli for a reported €64 million last summer. Manchester United have registered their interest in Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani. The Premier League champions are preparing a concerted summer move for the prolific forward, one of a number of high profile targets for boss David Moyes, who will have a transfer kitty of more than €120 million with which to refurbish his squad in the next window. Paris Saint-Germain, clearly, do not need the money from any transfer and Cavani only moved to the Parc des Princes last summer, after a lot of negotiating with Napoli, for €64m. Of course, Cavani has a big contract - rumoured to be between €8-10m per year after tax, plus bonuses - and it runs until 2018. Coach Laurent Blanc has put his faith in the striker and he is popular with the club's owners and supporters. The Scot is keen to strengthen U ...
Match Preview: Arsenal vs Man. United (7:45pm) David Moyes has admitted Manchester United have not won enough games to ease the spiral of negativity that has enveloped the club. United head to Arsenal on Wednesday reeling from the loss of two more points against bottom club Fulham at Old Trafford at the weekend. The result continued a pitiful start to 2014, which has seen United win just three times. One of those wins, in the second leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final against Sunderland, effectively became a defeat anyway as the Red Devils crashed out on penalties. Little wonder every bit of evidence is being seized on to explain how a team should crumble so quickly after they won the title by 11 points last term. Manager Moyes can point to extreme instances of bad luck; David De Gea's last-minute fumble against Sunderland that cost his team a place at Wembley, or Darren Bent's injury-time equaliser at the weekend for a Fulham side who did not seem to be so bothered about scoring. Ultimately though, the ...
Scholes hails Mata Juan Mata’s impressive start to his Manchester United career has not gone unnoticed by a man who made the ‘creator-in-chief’ tag his own during 20 years as a Red. That man is, of course, Paul Scholes who was as delighted as anybody to see the diminutive forward make the move from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford, even going as far as to say that, in Mata, United have signed English football's top performer in recent times. “For the last couple of years Mata has probably been the best player in the league,” Scholes told MUTV and ManUtd.com in an exclusive interview. “We had to pay a lot of money for him and we were very lucky that he wasn’t in Chelsea’s plans, and only we can benefit from him now. “Hopefully he can have a strong end to the season and he can help us climb the table.” Although vocal in his praise for the Reds' latest acquisition, the typically bashful Mancunian was keen to dismiss those who have compared Mata with Scholes himself. He also spoke of how, i ...

Manchester United boss David Moyes could oversee a massive ten-man clearout this year. The Times says there could be a clear-out of senior players in the summer. Those under serious scrutiny include Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra, whose contracts expire in June, Antonio Valencia and Javier Hernandez, while Rio Ferdinand , Alexander Buttner , Nani, Ashley Young and Shinji Kagawa are already likely to be surplus material. Anderson, on-loan Fiorentina, will be offloaded, while Cardiff City signing Wilfried Zaha is also under the gun.
The exit of Anderson on loan to Fiorentina, plus the impending departures of Wilfried Zaha and Fabio further confirm Moyes’ intentions. It is impossible to see Rio Ferdinand’s contract being renewed given his recent lack of games, while the futures of skipper Nemanja Vidic and full-back Patrice Evra are also in the balance. With Alexander Buttner, Nani, Ashley Young and Javier Hernandez among those who also have questions marks hanging over them, the Moyes revolution is under way. “I have given every player the opportunity to play and show what they can do,” he said. “We have had a pretty good chance to have a look at it. “The players have to perform. If they want to be here and making sure they have a jersey, they have to show it in the games.
Three Things: Manchester United vs. Cardiff JANUARY 28, 2014 5:56:38 PM PST By Richard Jolly MANCHESTER -- Three thoughts from Man United's 2-0 win over Cardiff. 1. United's fate rests with their top talents Seven days earlier, Manchester United kicked off against Sunderland with Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck in attack and no recognised striker in reserve. Fast-forward a week, and manager David Moyes was able to select Juan Mata to play off Robin Van Persie and put Wayne Rooney on the bench. It is a colossal difference. And while the goal of the game came from Ashley Young, who beat David Marshall from 20 yards, and Antonio Valencia twice struck the woodwork, this was a match to reinforce the importance of United's top talents. Sir Alex Ferguson excelled in conjuring performances from the lesser lights, but usually when one of the resident superstars led the way. Van Persie had not played in the past 11 games and had not scored since the first week of November. Thus, his early header, which eased the ...

LITTLE PEA WANTS OUT Frankly, we don't blame him. He's started only four games in the Premier League this season despite injuries to Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie and there are plenty of clubs in England and around Europe who would give him more first-team football in a World Cup year. One of those clubs is said to be Inter Milan, but United have - according to The Sun at least - decided that they want at least £15m for their fourth-choice striker. WAIT A MINUTE... The Daily Telegraph are along with what might be bad news for Michael Carrick but good news for Javier Hernandez. Carrick could be sidelined for a month with ankle ligament damage and that leaves Manchester United even more desperate for the midfielder they desperately needed anyway. We don't really see Fredy Guarin as an obvious replacement for Carrick but apparently David Moyes could be tempted by a swap that involves a Mexican and a Colombian. Peter Staunton, a goal.com International writer had this to say about Manchester United ouster from the League Cup by Sunderland- ''Javier Hernandez pulled the classic gutless move. He took out his shinpads and rolled down his socks. The only other thing he could have done was take off his boots altogether. Those visual indicators tell the manager: "I don't fancy it." David Moyes legislated for Hernandez's shirk-job in the aftermath of Manchester United's penalty shootout defeat to Sunderland in the League Cup by saying the Mexican was injured. Didn't Cesc Fabregas once take, and score, a penalty for Arsenal with a broken leg? Whatever ailment with which Hernandez was hit while celebrating his extra-time goal could have been surmounted. Nonetheless, United's other senior players when the time came were in dereliction of duty. Patrice Evra, Antonio Valencia and Jonny Evans - over 150 international caps between them - not to mention the near 700 United appearances they've made, were content to stand in the ...

Eto’o hat-trick sees United sink deeper (AFP) – Manchester United’s Premier League title defence died another death on Sunday as Samuel Eto’o's hat-trick earned Chelsea a 3-1 win that left the champions 14 points off the pace. Eto’o's treble, his first in English football, gave manager Jose Mourinho his 100th Premier League victory, while United, who replied through Javier Hernandez, slumped to their seventh loss of the campaign and saw captain Nemanja Vidic sent off in stoppage time. As well as the gulf that separates them from leaders Arsenal, United are also six points below the Champions League places, further jeopardising their chances of securing the consolation prize of a top-four finish. With hopes of success via the league fading further, Wednesday’s League Cup semi-final second leg against Sunderland, when United will look to overturn a 2-1 deficit, now assumes even greater importance. It was a fifth successive league win for Chelsea, meanwhile, who returned to within two points of A ...

Man United win more 'special' for Swansea fans - Michael Laudrup Michael Laudrup says Swansea's FA Cup win at Manchester United meant more to the players and fans than it is did to him. The Swans won for the first time at Old Trafford thanks to Wilfried Bony's 90th-minute header against 10-Man United. Laudrup, who played for Barcelona, says he is happy but would prefer Premier League points. The only thing that makes it special for me is I know how special it is for the fans and players," said Laudrup. But for me, I always said I'd rather win against Crystal Palace or West Ham or Stoke or Norwich or a side who are on more or less the same points as us. For me it's great because it's great for the players and the fans but if you ask me separately just for me, no, nothing special." Tottenham recorded their second consecutive win at Old Trafford as victory over Manchester United lifted them to sixth in the Premier League. United began briskly but Emmanuel Adebayor guided in a header from Christian Eriksen's cross for Spurs. Eriksen doubled the lead with a close-range header after another Spurs break but Danny Welbeck beat Hugo Lloris to set up a frantic finish. Javier Hernandez had a late flick saved for the hosts as Spurs held on. It was a hugely impressive result for new Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood, who is unbeaten in his four Premier League games in charge. Spurs were thumped 6-0 by Manchester City in November on their last visit to Manchester, but Wednesday's result is further evidence that Sherwood could be the right man to lead Tottenham forward despite the new boss, who is in his first managerial role, admitting he represented "a gamble". Adebayor, who was sidelined by former manager Andre Villas-Boas, has been given a new lease of life under ex-Spurs midfielder Sherwood ...

Having won their previous six games in all competitions, United were hoping to match wins by their fellow title rivals, but instead they slumped to a sixth defeat of the season that left them 11 points off the pace. Tottenham, unbeaten in the league under new manager Tim Sherwood, took a 34th-minute lead when Emmanuel Adebayor outjumped Chris Smalling to head home Christian Eriksen’s right- wing centre. Eriksen added a second in the 66th minute, smuggling a header past David De Gea from Aaron Lennon’s cross. Danny Welbeck reduced the arrears immediately from Adnan Januzaj’s incisive pass, but Spurs withstood United’s late onslaught, with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris saving from Javier Hernandez, Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic. Victory took Spur ...

Shinji Kagawa & Javier Hernandez is on for carrick & Smalling. 29 mins to time a goal down.
Javier Hernandez on MUTV: "Perhaps we are getting a bit of luck that we didn't have in other games," "For example, we're creating chances and scoring goals like the last one against Norwich when we had a little bit of luck. "We take that luck as, in the first part of the season, we didn't have that. For example, against Everton, they did play a very good game and had one or two chances in the first half but we played better in the second half until they scored late on. "We were in control of the game against Newcastle and created chances but didn't score. They had one chance and scored. "So we're hoping to transfer our away record to Old Trafford." David Moyes: "I don't think anyone's jumping up and down because we've won six games in a row - it's expected here. Tottenham are difficult opposition. They've either been in the Champions League or they've been pushing for the Champions League and have always been a good, strong team." David Moyes has reiterated his desire to see Danny Welbeck play a big part ...

THE JANUARY transfer window will open on Wednesday and we can expect all of the usual rumours. It will be a critical time for several clubs. Take a look at their options. Arsenal Budget £50million. Who’s in charge of signings? Arsène Wenger. The longest serving manager in English football has more control than any of his Premier League peers when it comes to deciding who is signed and who leaves, and has actually resisted the board’s desire to spend in the past. He could well do so again, after Arsenal’s fine form so far. What’s their priority? A striker and, possibly another central defender and a right-back, depending on Bacary Sagna’s intentions. The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season and there are no suggestions he is close to agreeing a deal. Who could arrive Diego Costa (Atlético Madrid), Javier Hernandez (Manchester United), Fernando Llorente (Juventus). Who could leave Nicklas Bendtner, Bacary Sagna, Thomas Vermaelen, Lukas Fabianski, Emmanuel Frimpong, Park Chu-You ...

Mad Entertainment: Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez going nowhere in January
54' SUBSTITUTION Javier Hernandez replaces Welbeck, who heads to the tunnel, presumably with an injury.
TEAM NEWS & LATE Fitness Check oleh abam Nik Argiropoulos : Man Utd v West Ham : What we wanted was a clear "Wayne Rooney is fit" or "Wayne Rooney is injured" from Manchester United manager David Moyes. What we got was "he has a chance, we'll see tomorrow". Hugely unhelpful, and he has to be considered a massive risk. Danny Welbeck should play regardless of the final decision, with Javier Hernandez only likely to feature if Rooney sits it out. Nani is out injured so Antonio Valencia and Adnan Januzaj should remain on the wings, while Marouane Fellaini and Nemanja Vidic are both doubts so Phil Jones will start in either midfield or defence. Michael Carrick and Robin Van Persie are long term absentees. West Ham's captain Kevin Nolan is still suspended, so Ravel Morrison is expected to start and Modibo Maiga will battle it out with Carlton Cole for a start upfront, but you shouldn't be considering any Hammers players for such a difficult match. Liverpool v Cardiff City : Brendon Rodgers is still without the ...

The Match: Stoke taken by storm Here's our in-depth review of United's 2-0 Capital One Cup win over Stoke... The Match The Britannia Stadium can be inhospitable at the best of times, with a vociferous home support and an often physically-demanding contest in store, so Stoke's summoning of a first-half hailstorm, so disruptive it forced referee Mark Clattenburg to halt the match for around eight minutes, all seemed part of the Potteries' 'welcome'. It was an occasion for rarities of sorts, Ashley Young bagging his first United goal since May 2012, and Reds left-back Patrice Evra completing the scoring, with his right foot no less. The goals Young was fouled by Wilson Palacios on the halfway line and Tom Cleverley's quick thinking gave the United winger possession in space. Young's probing pass found Javier Hernandez, who held up the ball on the edge of the box. Young didn't even wait for an invitation to strike it as he rocketed a shot past Thomas Sorensen. He was then involved in the second goal, attackin ...
Manchester United prevailed 2-0 in a hail storm-interrupted Capital One Cup quarter-final clash with Stoke City. Both sets of players were led from the field just before the half-hour mark, with the inclement conditions at the Britannia Stadium leaving referee Mark Clattenburg unable to see the action unfolding in front of him. In truth, there was not much to get excited about in a first half which was keenly contested but produced few opportunities of note. It became increasingly apparent that a moment of magic would be required to break the deadlock, and Ashley Young produced just that on 62 minutes as he exchanged passes with Javier Hernandez and lashed a 20-yard thunderbolt past Thomas Sorensen. United's second also had a touch of class about it, with skipper Patrice Evra latching onto a pass from Young, bursting into the box and curling the ball into the corner with his right foot. By some considerable distance, the most noteworthy event of the opening half was referee Clattenburg's decision to take ...

Manchester United VS NEWCASTLE UNITED Best of the match Man of the match: It was a real team effort from Newcastle but Cheick Tiote gets the nod after a commanding performance in the heart of midfield. Moment of the match: Man Utd had just enjoyed their best spell of the match when Newcastle hit them with the crucial goal, Yohan Cabaye coolly finishing off after good work by Moussa Sissoko. Save of the match: Tim Krul kept Newcastle on level terms at the start of the second half with an excellent save down to his right to keep out Javier Hernandez's well-struck effort. Talking point: Can Manchester United still win the title? Are Newcastle able to challenge for a Champions League spot?

Cardiff curb United, City hit Spurs for six (AFP) Sunday 24 November 2013 Share Cardiff curb United, City hit Spurs for six © Getty Images Korea Repbulic midfielder Kim Bo-kyung's dramatic stoppage-time equaliser earned Cardiff City a 2-2 draw that prevented Manchester United from climbing into the English Premier League's top four on Sunday. United were on course for the UEFA Champions League places until Kim stole in to head home a Peter Whittingham free-kick in the 91st minute. Surprise 3-2 victors over Manchester City earlier in the season, Cardiff inched three points clear of the bottom three thanks to Kim's goal, while United were left in sixth place, seven points behind leaders Arsenal. Wayne Rooney started the scoring, who put United ahead in the 15th minute. Antonio Valencia's right-wing centre was flicked on by Javier Hernandez to Rooney, who turned inside and let fly with a shot that beat goalkeeper David Marshall via a deflection off Gary Medel. Tottenham will demand £6.5m for Jermain Defoe from two London clubs who have shown an interest in the England striker, reports The Times. West Ham and QPR are trying to take advantage of Defoe's need to play regular football in a World Cup year, the paper claims. Spurs held on to him last summer as they were unable to find a replacement for him, but with current interest in Alex Pato and Javier Hernandez, there may be scope for Defoe to move elsewhere in January

Man Utd to reject bids for young striker Manchester United's Angelo Henriquez in action in Rio Ferdinand's testimonial against Sevilla at Old Trafford. Mandatory credit Manchester United are set to face a flurry of bids for their promising young striker Angelo Henriquez after his impressive performances on loan at Real Zaragoza this season. The 19-year-old, who has previously had a spell on loan with Wigan Athletic as well, has scored five times in ten league appearances for Spanish Segunda Division side Zaragoza this year, and a number of clubs in England and Spain are now keen to snap him up. SportsDirect News understands that Malaga, Granada and Valladolid are among his suitors in La Liga, while Premier League sides Swansea and Sunderland are also monitoring his situation. Henriquez faces a big fight to break into David Moyes' first team, with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck to contend with for a place upfront, though the Chilean remains highly rated at O ...

International Reds A place at next year's World Cup in Brazil is at stake for Patrice Evra and Nani, as several United stars join up with their countries on international duty. Wayne Rooney, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Tom Cleverley are with England for friendlies against Chile and Germany, although Michael Carrick and Danny Welbeck have withdrawn with injuries. Reds left-back Evra is in coach Didier Deschamps' squad for France's two-legged meeting with Ukraine, who finished as runners-up to England in Group H. The tie opens in Kiev on Friday, 15 November and concludes in Paris on Tuesday, 19 November. Manchester United will offer Javier Hernandez a new deal — to convince him he has a future at Old Trafford
Javier Hernandez and Edin Dzeko could well be two players who are our targets. Here’s how they shape up against each other in key statistical areas. Goals and Assists: It’s no surprise to see that Dzeko is ahead here because he’s played in seven Premier League games compared to Hernandez’ four. Dzeko has three goals and a single assist so far this season while Chicharito has registered just a single strike in the league. That suggests that Dzeko is the in form striker, sharper and better suited to slot straight into the Arsenal first team. Passing: Hernandez has a passing success rate but it’s important to remember that he has played in fewer games. The Mexican is completing 88.9% of passes in the Premier League while Dzeko’s average is down at 81.7% That suggests that the Mexican is better at protecting the ball and using it more effectively when it comes to interacting with the creative midfield players around him. Shots: Dzeko is making a significantly higher number of shots per game this s ...
Premier League: 5 huge transfers that would change the title race !! 5. Javier Hernandez to Tottenham Despite proving his worth as a reliable goalscorer during his three-year stint at Old Trafford, Manchester United striker Hernandez has been widely linked with a move away from the Premier League champions due to his seeming inability to command a regular staring berth. 4. Diego Costa to Arsenal Brazilian-born Costa - who was recently the subject of fierce debate following his decision to pledge his international future to Spain - is arguably Europe's most in-form striker. Having notched a staggering 13 goals in just 12 La Liga games for Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid, the 25-year-old is a truly prolific talent. Linked with a potential big-money move to Premier League leaders Arsenal, his presence at the Emirates Stadium as a tremendous alternative to Frenchman Olivier Giroud would surely fully establish the Gunners as genuine title contenders. 3. Miralem Pjanic to Manchester United Although United appea ...
I already bought him on fifa... Why not reality? - Arsenal line up Javier Hernandez transfer
ARSENAL TO TEMPT CHICARITO? I think that most neutrals would agree that whilst Nicklas Bendtner rather talks a good game, N-Ben isn't exactly ideal as the replacement striker for a now title-challenging side. The Daily Mail have put two and two together and come up with out-of-favour Javier Hernandez as the solution for Arsene Wenger. It is a move that would make a deal of sense, although whether the Mexican has the required attributes to lead the line on his own would possibly be in doubt. The Mail claim that the Gunners 'have compiled an extensive dossier on the Mexico striker', presumably made up of several videos of that ridiculous back-header against Stoke a couple of years ago. We'd say that it's unlikely United would want to sell, but stranger things have happened. UNITED WANT £35MILLION KHEDIRA Manchester United are the latest club to be talked of in Sami Khedira terms, with the Daily Mirror reporting that the club sent Phil Neville on a scouting mission to Madrid. Robin Van Persie missed a penalty that had been awarded controversially and Javier Hernandez fired a great chance over the bar as Manchester United drew with minnows Real Sociedad.
United held to goalless stalemate Robin Van Persie missed a penalty and Marouane Fellaini was sent off as Manchester United edged closer to a place in the Champions League knock-out stages with a goalless draw against Real Sociedad. After a dismal first half, Javier Hernandez inexplicably failed to tap home Shinji Kagawa’s low cross from barely six yards before substitutes Van Persie and Ashley Young took centre stage. Within minutes of their joint arrival, Young provided the cross which Van Persie belted against a post. More contentious was the spot-kick awarded to the visitors when Young went down under Markel Bergara’s challenge. Although referee Nicola Rizzoli was certain, others were less so. Van Persie was not worrying about that as he strode up to take the kick. He soon had cause to regret his own failings, though, as his effort also bounced back off the woodwork before clipping goalkeeper Claudio Bravo on the way out and rolling to safety. It was the first time Van Persie had missed from the s ...

Sir Alex Ferguson says it is impossible for him to select a definitive all-time Manchester United team from his 26-year reign at Old Trafford Sir Alex : "People ask you: 'Who is your best Man United team?' and it’s absolutely impossible. You look at the strikers I had, going back to [Brian] McClair, [Mark] Hughes, [Andy] Cole, Cantona, [Ruud] van Nistelrooy, [Louis] Saha, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, [Dwight] Yorke, Teddy Sheringham. "Then to the present players -- Wayne Rooney, [Robin] Van Persie, Chicharito [Javier Hernandez]. How do you pick out of that? Cantona and somebody else maybe?. "The midfield was probably a bit easier because you have [Roy] Keane, [Bryan] Robson and [Paul] Scholes -- they were fantastic players -- and [David] Beckham, Ronaldo and [Ryan] Giggs. "Honestly, I would say Denis Irwin would be the one certainty to get in the team. I called him an eight out of 10. "At Highbury in one game, he had a bad pass back in the last minute and [Dennis] Bergkamp came in and scored. After the game th ...
David Moyes admits Javier Hernandez may have done enough to force his way into the champions' side for their English Premier League clash away to Fulham on Saturday. The Mexico striker scored twice in United's 4-0 midweek win over Norwich City in the League Cup and has consequently given Moyes a selection headache for this weekend's match at Craven Cottage. Hernandez has frequently been used as an substitute behind leading strikers Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney this season, but Moyes praised the attitude shown by the 25-year-old and said Hernandez, far from being content with his bench role, was among a number of fringe players at Old Trafford pushing for regular first-team football. "I've been really pleased for Javier because it's been a slow start for him," Moyes said on Friday. "It's been a difficult summer coming back and then back and forth to Mexico for all the games they've had to play. "But he's started to do what he's done over the years which is to score goals. He scored in midweek so long ...
Chelsea oust Arsenal 2013-10-30 London - Cesar Azpilicueta seized on a defensive blunder and Juan Mata scored a slick second as Chelsea dumped Premier League leaders Arsenal out of the League Cup with a 2-0 victory at their London rivals on Tuesday. The fourth round loss ends one route to a trophy for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who failed to mastermind a victory over Jose Mourinho for the ninth time as he looks to deliver his club's first silverware since 2005. Mourinho now has a quarter-final to look forward to in the competition that gave him the first trophy of his first Chelsea reign in 2005. David Moyes’ side fell behind in comical circumstances as Jonny Evans and Patrice Evra cleared the ball against each other before the ricochet went in off Peter Crouch. United levelled when Robin Van Persie finished after Asmir Begovic parried a Wayne Rooney header, but Stoke took the lead again when, after Phil Jones gave away a needless free-kick, Marko Arnautovic swung it in off the bar. United were booed off at half-time and the second period was a dirge, with no real chances until Rooney met Van Persie’s corner with a fine header. Two minutes later Javier Hernandez headed the hosts ahead for the first time, unmarked as he met Patrice Evra’s cross. Those goals came after Adnan Januzaj was introdu ...

Is Javier ' Chicarito' Hernandez wasted at Manchester United? I think so, and hears my reasons why. Javier Hernandez has said yesterday in an interview that he may have to move away from Old Trafford to get more game time and fullfil his potential. It would be a huge loss for Manchester United to lose a player of his quality. A striker who can get you 20/30 goals a season is rare. Here is one rotting on the bench or even in the stands in Manchester. Hernandez is the sort of player that will get you a goal from nothing; he only needs one chance to put the ball in the net. He consistently pops up in the right place at the right time to take a chance. Sir Alex used to rely on Hernandez to pull United out of sticky situations, classically last season when United were two down away to Aston Villa at half time. Hernandez came on and effectively won united the game with two goals. He would of had a hat trick but his third effort went down as an own goal. Again last season Sir Alex’s side were struggling to ov ...
Would love to see Javier Hernandez at nufc
Do you all want javier hernandez to stay at united yes or mo
Arsenal have been doing perfectly well up front so far this season and we have certainly scored plenty of goals, most of which have actually come from midfield with Aaron Ramsey. However that’s beside the point and it is in fact Frenchman Olivier Giroud who has been in the limelight regarding Arsenal’s goal scoring prowess so far this season. Giroud has 6 goals for Arsenal so far this season, which at one point was very impressive considering the number of game we had played. However for the last few games (in the Premier League) he has failed to score and so that tally suddenly looks a tad less impressive, but the talent is still certainly there and ultimately the stats still remain. But despite Giroud’s high scoring form, as well as additions to goals from midfield, many still believe we need a new striker. Yesterday the topic was on Lukas Podolski, and how some consider that he could be the striker we have all been crying out for. However I disagree with this, simply because although he has prove ...

Five Crucial Qualifiers Ahead of Friday's crunch World Cup qualifiers, here are five games that promise to throw up an interesting headline England v Montenegro Why you should watch: Of the 22 World Cup places still up for grabs ahead of Friday's fixtures, it is the spot at the top of UEFA Group H that involves the tightest situation and most permutations. As it stands, just three points separate four teams, with half of the remaining six fixtures involving direct face-offs. The match to definitively tilt it all either way is likely to be this game at Wembley, with both teams keeping an ear out for events in Kharkiv. There, second-placed Ukraine on 15 points host fourth-placed Poland on 13, ahead of the latter's own trip to London on Tuesday. Montenegro lie in third on 15 and unbeaten away from home. Complicating it all further is that, although England are on top of the table with 16 points, they are hardly in top form. In what has been a cautious and tense group on the pitch, it does feel like single mo ...

Liverpool striker Luis Suárez proves a nuisance for right reasons in League Cup defeat to Manchester United Luis Suárez only had to look across at the man wearing the Manchester United captain’s armband to realise that his road to redemption at Liverpool can be anything but long and winding. Wayne Rooney has played six times for United since spending a summer attempting to leave Old Trafford, yet as the two teams lined up in the tunnel for this Capital One Cup tie, the 27-year-old was leading the home side on to the pitch having been named as captain by David Moyes. Rooney remains at odds with United. Those who know the player insist that his 'issues’ with the club have yet to be resolved. But despite this, his name has been chanted by the United supporters, Moyes has repeatedly praised the England forward and, to all intents and purposes, Rooney’s stand-off with the club has been swept under the carpet. There is a simple reason for Rooney’s return to favour – performances on the pitch. He may ...
