New boss to cull 10 United players: Louis Van Gaal started work at Manchester United yesterday and a few of the papers agree on the fact that the steely Dutchman is ready to take an axe to the squad bequeathed to him by David Moyes. United have already signed Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera this summer and, according to the Mirror, Van Gaal wants to sign at least four more players, meaning a big overhaul of the squad is required. According to the Mirror: "The players poised to be shown the door by Van Gaal include Ashley Young, Wilfried Zaha, Marouane Fellaini, Bebe, Anderson, Tom Cleverley, Nani and Nick Powell. With Patrice Evra leaving for Juventus just weeks after being handed a new deal and striker Javier Hernandez open to a move elsewhere to play more regularly, Van Gaal could jettison as many as 10 of Moyes’ squad." More At The Empire Of Manchester United By HaYtHeMoViC 17's review of the 20th title moves on to November... Overview It was a mixed month at home and abroad for the Reds starting and ending on a high, for Robin Van Persie in particular, with important strikes against former club Arsenal and West Ham (United's quickest goal of the season after 33 seconds) at Old Trafford. Come-from-behind wins at Braga and Aston Villa were followed by 1-0 defeats away to Norwich and Galatasaray, but the loss in Turkey didn't matter after qualification for the knock-out stages had been secured in Portugal earlier in the month. Key moment Javier Hernandez came off the bench to inspire the Reds in a vital win at Villa Park with an impressive double (he left the pitch with the match ball but his second goal was later credited to Villa's Ron Vlaar). Andreas Weimann struck either side of half-time before Chicha entered the fray at the break and did the business in front of goal. Star man Chicharito collected ManUtd.c ...

Chicharito to leave Old Trafford this summer June 14, 2014 Despite several statements of Manchester United bosses that the club need Chicharito and are not going to sell, Mexican striker will leave Old Trafford this summer. The information was reported by South American sources today and was not rejected by the player’s representatives . The main reason of these speculations has become the comment of Chicharito in what he has said that he does not want to be the substitution and wants to play in starting lineup. Experts have considered that it will unable for Louis Van Gaal to give him the guarantees of playing in any quantity of matches and Javier Hernandez will decide to leave the club. As you know, Inter are interested in Mexico star and are going to make an official bid this summer.

Javier Hernandez: "I’ve never seen myself as a sub and I don’t like being one. I am tired of people seeing me that way, as a super sub."
It's a little bizarre that a team that has Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez in it looked like such a damp squib last season. They have so much fire-power, but still somehow lack cutting edge. The only possible deduction, is that they're not getting the service they need to keep producing the goods. I can't help but feel that Manchester United were massively let down by their wingers last season. With Nani desperately trying to make as little impact as possible at Old Trafford and Ashley Young doing his best to copy him, it's clear that this is a problem position for Manchester United. It's not like any of the club's other options are providing the goods either. Whilst Antonio Valencia is still capable of the occasional good game, he's also largely inconsistent. I wouldn't be surprised if Louis Van Gaal has made signing a world class winger his top summer priority. After all, adding a little more threat down the flanks could breathe fresh life into this Manchester United side. It could w ...

Man United move for Morata Let's begin with the curious rumour that Alvaro Morata is ready to jump ship at Real Madrid to join Manchester United this summer. According to The Daily Star, the 21-year-old has decided to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in pursuit of first-team football which, of course, he's bound to find at a club that already boast Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney in their armoury. Perhaps Morata should give Javier Hernandez a quick call to ask about the squad rotation policy at Old Trafford -- with no European football next season it looks like United's back-up strikers will be given even less playing time. Manuel Queimadelos Alonso/Getty Images Sadly for Real fans, young Alvaro Morata's future might lie outside Madrid. The Spain Under-21 international is also a long-term target for Arsenal and was linked with a loan move to the Emirates Stadium in January. Who should get United's famous shirt numbers next season? The 7, 9 and 11 shirts are available this summer - but should Louis Van Gaal hand them to new players or promote from within? 9 Previous wearers: Sir Bobby Charlton, Andrew Cole, Dimitar Berbatov. Robin Van Persie - The Dutchman turned down the No.9 last season so as not to disappoint the fans who had already had '20' emblazoned on their new kits. But is he not the rightful heir to the throne? Edinson Cavani - Whether United need a centre-forward or not is up for debate but if Cavani came in then nobody would be disappointed to see him take it. Javier Hernandez - Chicharito saw less playing time than he arguably deserved last season but, if Van Gaal intends on giving him a more prominent role, then giving him the shirt would be a statement. Wayne Rooney - A number of observers believe the 28-year-old is far better as an out-and-out striker than a withdrawn centre-forward - perhaps it's time to recognise that. If he is to beat Sir Bobby's goal recor ...

The Spaniard had another magnificent campaign and seemed to grow in confidence with each passing game that he played. No less than ELEVEN first teamers at Manchester United could be offloaded in the summer. Three members of the Glazer family - expected to be co-chairmen Joel and Avram Glazer and director Bryan - will meet with executive vice- chairman Ed Woodward today following the bitter fall-out of David Moyes' axing. The Daily Express says United are prepared to ship out a number of players to make way for new additions. Veteran defender Nemanja Vidic will join Inter Milan on July 1, while there are question marks over the futures of Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra , Nani, Anderson, Javier Hernandez , Alex Buttner, Tom Cleverley , Shinji Kagawa, Danny Welbeck and Robin Van Persie.
From "Shinji Kagawa, Javier Hernandez, Rio Ferdinand, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher and Ashley Young were all linked with moves away from the club during Moyes' time at Old Trafford after falling out of favour during periods of the season. Javier Hernandez made it clear that regardless of any summer activity from Manchester United he had decided to stay and fight for his place in the first team at Old Trafford. The Mexican had been struggling for regular first-team football at the club and it was rumoured he could seek a move away in the summer. However he ruled out a departure: “All the players in the world want to start every single game. I am happy to be at this club. Of course I would love to start more often but I will keep the same attitude.”

Man United's Javier Hernandez set for summer switch to Atletico Madrid? Transfer gossip from Saturday's papers...
After signing a monster new deal and leading United in goals and assists (with 17 each) Wayne Rooney is staying put and will go on to break the club's scoring records regardless of the team's overall success. The underrated, while sometimes wasteful, Danny Welbeck is a local lad and will be allowed to grow into an Old Trafford star over the coming years. That's as far as the striking certainties go, however, with question marks hanging over both Robin Van Persie and Javier Hernandez. RVP is still one of the deadliest strikers around but United have arguably played better in his absence this term and the Dutchman could be moved on to facilitate other players this summer. Chicharito is one of the best-loved players at Old Trafford but the Mexican is never going to get the minutes he desires and deserves in a Red Devils shirt and looks set to reluctantly move on in the coming months. Staying: Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck Going: Robin Van Persie, Javier Hernandez
Manchester United went to the Sports Direct Arena knowing fully well what transpired against Newcastle at Old Trafford (1- 0 defeat) last December must not repeat itself otherwise their hopes of clinching perhaps a Europa League place will be dented. Fortuitously for the english champions, the game went completely in their favour as two sumptuous goal from Juan Mata including a sublime freekick and one for the duo of Javier Hernandez and the burgeoning Adnan Januzaj was enough to comfortably bagged them the important 3 points in a game that ended 4-0 to Manchester United. It seems Manchester United have started reviving their missing glories even though their recent form came at a time where it maybe perhaps be too late to make the top 4. Danish goalie, Anders Lindegard was given a starting place ahead of the seemingly rested David De Gea. The Danish ace grabbed the chance with full hands as he produced a series of magnificent saves to make sure United kept a clean sheet. Lindegard is good, there is no do ...

A lacklustre first half came to life in the 39th minute when Mata curled an exquisite free-kick past Rob Elliot and into the top corner, and the Spaniard then showed great composure to make it 2-0 five minutes into the second half after being found in the box by Javier Hernandez. Hernandez added a third with a predatory finish from Shinji Kagawa's pass and Mata provided another moment of magic to set up the fourth as a clever back-heel allowed Adnan Januzaj to fire home and complete the rout. Paul Merson's prediction: I'm sure Man United will rest everybody. They are in with a chance of getting to a Champions League semi-final, so what's the point of going to Newcastle and playing the first team? They can't win the league or get in the top four, so I think they'll play as many reserve players as they can. I'd expect to see Javier Hernandez, Nani nd Ashley Young in the team and I'd be shocked if any of the big boys play with their season on the line in Munich on Wednesday. Newcastle aren't doing great, though, so I'm not sure they can take advantage. They won at Old Trafford, but Yohan Cabaye ain't there anymore... PAUL PREDICTS: 1-1 -anthony

Real Madrid star should reject Man United in favour of Arsenal. Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata would be the main man at Arsenal, but only a supporting act at United. United & Arsenal could fight for Morata. This season aside, there’s not many things Arsenal can claim to have done better than Manchester United in the last few years. Offering plenty of first team experience to young stars looking to make a name for themselves in the game would be one. Whilst United can lay claim to having honed the skills of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, it’s their north London rivals and more specifically their long serving coach Arsene Wenger who are synonymous with taking an impressive young player, putting them in the Emirates machine and churning out a burgeoning superstar. It’s for this reason, amongst others such as Champions League football and a higher domestic finish, that the Gunners will surely have the upper hand when it comes to enticing starlets this summer. Traditionally United and Arsenal have wage ...

Bastian Schweinsteiger scored a vital away goal as Bayern Munich drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, and was later sent off. Nemanja Vidic opened the scoring with a brilliant second-half header but United's shock lead did not last long, with Schweinsteiger's crisp volley soon levelling proceedings. The Germany international would not finish the game, however, as he shown a second yellow card late on after a rash challenge on Wayne Rooney. He will, therefore, miss the second leg on April 9, along with his defensive team-mate Javi Martinez, who picked up a booking of his own for a cynical foul on Javier Hernandez. The hosts were under the cosh for almost the entire match but captain Vidic grabbed the opening goal 13 minutes into the second half as Europe's premier club competition continued to represent a bright spot in United's otherwise troublesome campaign. Despite their fall from grace domestically, the Premier League champions had won all four of their European ties at Old ...

Rumour: Tottenham Hotspur lead the race to sign Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez
ENGLISH Premier League: ROUND UP OF GAMES! Man Utd BACK TO WINNING WAYS! Manchester United 4 - 1 Aston Villa Manchester United ealier today returned to winning ways after mid-week's home defeat when they comprehensively thrashed Aston Villa at Old Trafford. A brace from Wayne Rooney in the 20th and 45th minutes respectfully for United cancelled out an Ashley Westwood's opener for Villa in the 13th to give United a 2-1 lead in the 1st half. However, in the 57 minutes of the 2nd half, Juan Mata scored his first goal for Man United since his big-money move in January. The move for his goal was iniated by Maroune Fellaini, and a mix-up in the Villa defence ensured the goal ended at the back of the net to make 3-1 for United. Javier Hernandez completed the rout for United in added time when Januzaj skipped past a defender and fired a cross to the back post for forward to turn in. What a win it was for United! In the post-match interview, manager David Moyes says United are ready for Bayern challenge. Are they ...
Wayne Rooney scored twice as Manchester United fought back to beat Aston Villa after a fly-by protest by fans calling for manager David Moyes to be sacked. A plane carrying an anti-Moyes banner was booed by some home fans as it flew over Old Trafford in the second minute. Ashley Westwood's curling free-kick put Villa ahead but Rooney quickly headed United level, then scored from the spot after Leandro Bacuna fouled Juan Mata. Mata slotted home a third before Javier Hernandez made it 4-1 in injury tim Villa striker Christian Benteke missed two good second-half chances but, crucially for their under-pressure manager, United were convincing winners and Moyes enjoyed a very public show of support.
Manchester United roared back from conceding first to Aston Villa thanks to a brace by Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata's first goal for the club since his record move from Chelsea and Javier Hernandez's late effort. David Moyes' men made a disappointing start and fell behind when David De Gea was unable to keep out Ashley Westwood's powerful free-kick on 13 minutes. Yet Juan Mata and Shinji Kagawa switched positions regularly to good effect and both were involved in the move that led to the equaliser as Rooney expertly headed past Brad Guzan. Rooney was on the scoresheet again with an emphatically-taken penalty just before the interval, after Leandro Bacuna chopped down Mata as he dragged the ball back inside the area. Christian Benteke missed a sitter when miskicking and allowing substitute Michael Carrick, on at centre-back, to clear. The muscular striker also headed over a Marc Albrighton cross moments later. However, Alex Büttner's brave header led to Marouane Fellaini supplying a touch inside the area and t ...

MOYES ADDS CLEVERLEY, ZAHA TO Man Utd SALES LIST Tom Cleverley is up for sale at Manchester United. The Daily Mail says United manager David Moyes plans a massive clearout of senior players. He has a list of players he wishes to move out of the club. These include midfielders Anderson, Nani and Wilfried Zaha and defender Alexander Buttner. Moyes will also listen to good offers for Darren Fletcher, Tom Cleverley, Shinji Kagawa and Javier Hernandez. EXCLUSIVE: AC Milan have today made an official enquiry about the availability of Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.
Pragmatism, Moyes’ backers would argue. But it was a backwards step that contrasts with, for example, Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision to bring on Javier Hernandez for Nani when two goals and a man down to Manchester City at Old Trafford in 2011. United were punished 6-1 but Ferguson felt duty bound as Manchester United manager to chase the game regardless of the circumstances. By comparison, Moyes feels like a realist working at a dream factory.
Edinson Cavani apparently has snubbed a move to United and insists he's happy at Paris Saint-Germain. It's a big blow for David Moyes. Here's why. He's strong in the air, which would be a huge benefit to the balls that get thrown into the box by the United team, and has the ability to drag a side to victory on his own. In his three seasons at Napoli he scored 104 goals in his 138 outings and in his debut season in France he currently has 21 in 31. Javier Hernandez must be fed up with a lack of playing time and Robin Van Persie has been injured for a lot of the season, United fans, what do you reckon? Please watch the video.

The pair, sidelined for some time with knee and hamstring injuries respectively, both came through an under-21s game unscathed on Friday and have rejoined the first team. Torres, who has often struggled since his £50 million move from Liverpool to Stamford Bridge, is also expected to leave in the summer but Thohir is adamant that neither men have been approached.
