Neglected to mention yesterday that Regé-Jean Page from James McTeigue's SURVIVOR landed the role of Chicken George in the new ROOTS.
I sincerely believed James McTeigue did not exist. Like he may have been a Wachowski standing on the other's shoulders in a long trenchcoat.

A remake of Bloodsport is planned. Phillip Noyce was attached to direct a screenplay by Robert Mark Kamen. Screen Daily explains, "The story will follow an American who goes to Brazil to recover from the violence he has experienced in Afghanistan who gets involved in a martial arts contest."[9] On July 24, 2013, Relativity Media will make the reboot with James McTeigue directing and will be shot in Australia and Rio de Janeiro.[10] NO Stop remaking classics.

Based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore, V For Vendetta takes place in an alternate vision of Britain in which a corrupt and abusive totalitarian government has risen to complete power. During a threatening run in with the secret police, an unassuming young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) is rescued by a vigilante named V (Hugo Weaving) -- a caped figure both articulate and skilled in combat. V embodies the principles of rebellion from an authoritarian state, donning a mask of vilified would-be terrorist of British history Guy Fawkes and leading a revolution sparked by assassination and… More STARRING Natalie Portman Hugo Weaving Stephen Rea Stephen Fry John Hurt DIRECTED BY James McTeigue © Warner Bros. Pierce Brosnan and Milla Jovovich filmed scenes for V For Vendetta director James McTeigue's new action-thriller Survivor in Central London today, and we've got photos from the shoot! Survivor follows an American woman working in London for the U.S. State Department. When her offices are bombed, she, the lone survivor, finds herself caught up in a conspiratorial plot, leading to her becoming a fugitive from the law. She only has until New Year's Eve to clear her name and stop another targeted attack. Angela Bassett, Emma Thompson, Dylan McDermott and Robert Forster also star in the Millennium Films project.
The role of an assistant director on a film includes tracking daily progress against the filming production schedule, arranging logistics, preparing daily call sheets, checking cast and crew, maintaining order on the set. They also have to take care of health and safety of the crew. Historically the role of an assistant to the director (not the same as an Assistant director) was a stepping stone to directing work; Alfred Hitchcock was an AD, as was James McTeigue. This transition into film directing is no longer common in feature films, but remains an avenue for television work, particularly in Australia and Britain. It is more common now for ADs to transition to production management and producer roles than to directing. An "assistant director" can also take on many different roles. Responsibilities of an assistant director in theatre may include taking notes to actually staging parts of the play. Many aspiring theatre directors begin their careers assistant directing, although the responsibilities in th ...

(Does it even feel like pain anymore?) Relativity Media reportedly has director James McTeigue (V For Vendetta) attached to the new version of Bloodsport, while Kickboxer will be re-launched by Radar Pictures (Riddick), with Hong Kong director Stephen Fung (Tai Chi Zero) at the helm. Deadline dropped the news of the Bloodsport/Kickboxer reboots. The site reports that the new Bloodsport - originally about an army officer who goes AWOL to compete in an illegal underground fight tournament – will now be about “the morally-conflicted life of 21st century mercenaries who clash with the underground world of Brazilian Vale Tudo, the martial arts style used by Donald . ...

Darke Reviews - V For Vendetta (2005) Remember, Remember, the 5th of November The gunpowder treason and plot I Can think of no reason That the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot... 8 years after the release of this film, it remains a hit amongst a select group of people but never truly reached the heights of fame it so richly deserved. I find that this vexes me some, and in fact for those who have not witnessed this one, I can only vow to convince you to do so. I must advise of course that this film is based on a graphic novel by the acclaimed writer Alan Moore. A man who is so fed up with adaptations of his work that he refused to allow his name to be put on the film. The artist, David Lloyd had no such qualms. To be sure Hollywood can be seen as a villain in his eyes as their adaptation of League of Extraordinary Gentleman left much to be desired and forced Sean Connery into retirement. He is also responsible for the original works of From *** and Watchmen. As you can tell by the nature of the sto ...

Directors like James McTeigue & Rupert Sanders deserves a monumental recognition once in a while...These people are brilliant!!! Such an awesome work...I will be your legacy in the coming few years...:D
The Raven is probably the worst movie in the history of cinema, an ignominy to the great literary figure Poe was. John Cusack (REALLY?) stars as Edgar Allan Poe, not only is he portrayed as a loud narcissistic goatee'd lout but, also a horse riding, gun-shooting action hero, who is not at all tormented or dark but just misunderstood by society (a hipster, in today's world). This movie is awful in every possible way (to say the least), from a poorly written script and bad acting to scenes that make absolutely no sense! I am so disappointed in you James McTeigue, Nevermore will i say you are one of my favorite filmmakers.. Nevermore. Is Hollywood so persistent on ruining art? What's next, a romantic comedy about Lord Byron? Enough with the heinous insults!
Awesome event! Join the director of the new movie The Raven, James McTeigue and star Luke Evans this Friday at 12p.
