Our first presenter is the mysterious M, portrayed recently by Judi Dench in the thrilling James Bond film, Skyfall. In the category of "Best Supporting Female Character" the nominees are: Patsey (Twelve Years a Slave) and Barbara Weston (August: Osage County).
Actor So Ji Sub Invested in Award-Winning Movie “Philomena” Starring Judi Dench It has been reported that actor So Ji Sub personally invested in the British-French-American movie that stars world-famous actress Judi Dench, “Philomena”. Judi Dench is very well known for her role as “M” that appears in almost every James Bond movies. The movie is based on the novel “The Lost Child of Philomena Lee” written by journalist Martin Sixsmith. The movie also stars of Steve Coogan and it tells the true story of Philomena Lee’s 50-year-long search for her son. Apparently, So Ji Sub, along with his entertainment agency, invested over $51,000 in this movie. After its screening at the 70th Venice International Film Festival, “Philomena” won several international awards including the People’s Choice Award Runner-Up Prize at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. The movie is nominated in four categories for the 2014 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actress. For nominations, ...
Even James Bond in the movie SkyFall we see M (Judi Dench), James Bond (Daniel Craig) & Silva (Javier Bardem) drink a fine whisky: The Macallan!
In It to Win It, BBC1 Dale Winton: Dame Judi Dench played which character with a single-letter name in James Bond? Contestant: I’m thinking D or E. [Pause] D! Eggheads, BBC2 Jeremy Vine: What type of instrument is a cornet: percussion, brass or string? Contestant: I think you blow into a cornet, so I don’t think it’s string. I’m going for percussion.
You probably already worship Dame Judi Dench for her many amazing performances in everything from James Bond movies to British comedies like As Time Goes By. But have you seen her wild performance in the trippy 1968 Midsummer Night's Dream? Warning: Possibly NSFW.
I've had the entire Daniel Craig James Bond on in the background the last couple of days while studying. "Skyfall" is pretty much the most perfect Bond movie since Sean Connery had the role. In grand irony, it could not standalone except for every Bond movie that came before it. It not only pays homage to the James Bond mythos from the 1960s forward, combining elements of the cheek in the movies with Ian Fleming's original vision of James Bond. Additionally, the plot provides a commentary on the real-world changes that we have seen in geopolitics and espionage, and evolving norms of the spygame from the Cold War to now. In terms of all things Bond, "Skyfall" was prudently made when it was, especially timed for the 50th Anniversary of James Bond. "Skyfall" is brilliant and like any Bond movie, works best as a standalone movie. That being said, it's time to jump back on the wagon started with "Casino Royale" and "Quantum Of Solace." It's time to finish the Vesper Lynd revenge trilogy. Bring back Dame Judi D ...
Frankly, Quantum Of Solace is a terrible film and Judi Dench is a terrible James Bond and should go back to presenting This Morning with Richard Madeley. Craig David. Microwave.
With production on James Bond 24 set to start early in 2014, Daniel Craig talks of his wish to reclaim some of the "old irony"... There's a spoiler for Skyfall in this piece. Chatting to Vulture as he takes to the Broadway stage opposite his wife, Rachel Weisz, in Betrayal, Daniel Craig has inevitably been asked about the next James Bond film. The movie, which has now been confirmed to be directed by Sam Mendes, will be arriving in cinemas in 2015. Mendes and Craig paired up on Skyfall, which notoriously brought about the end of Judi Dench's portrayal of M. The article notes that this was 'a downer lifted by a late humour pass on the script'. Thus, whilst filming was taking place, more jokes were added. We wonder just how sombre a beast the original take may have been. So, where do you take Bond from here? "Hopefully, we'll reclaims some of the old irony", said Craig, "and make sure it doesn't become pastiche. I can't do shtick, I'm not very good at it. Unless it kind of suddenly makes sense". He continue ...
today in 1997 - A big day for new movies in the U.S.: Titanic, starring Leonardo Dicaprio Kate Winslet Billy Zane and Kathy Bates, the biggest grossing movie of all time (has topped the $600-million mark); Mouse Hunt, with Nathan Lane, Lee Evans, Christopher Walken and Vicki Lewis; and Tomorrow Never Dies, starring Pierce Brosnan as Bond... James Bond, Judi Dench as M, Desmond Llewelyn as Q, Samantha Bond as Moneypenny.
Listen, Hollywood, I have an awesome idea. Judi Dench is a great M in James Bond, amirite or amirite? I want prequels about her RIGHT NAO. Please cast Anne Hathaway or Christina Hendricks as young M.
Another reason why the Blue Eagles are like James Bond in Skyfall? Norman Black = Judi Dench, Bo Perasol = Ralph Fiennes
Dear Brain, I don't need dreams at night where I rescue Kate Upton from a hot air balloon accident via a James Bond-style Aston Martin. Sets the bar a bit too high for the rest of the day...
I know they're not for everyone, but for my opinion some of the best shows on tv are the old British comedies, many of which air on KET. I've watched them for over ten years, and although it took some time to get the humor, once I did I was hooked. Although most are great, my two favorites are Keeping Up Appearances with the character of Hyacinth and As Time Goes By, which stars the excellent Judi Dench(also great in James Bond films).
Recently finished watching all the James Bond movies in order. (It took months!) Conclusions: Sean Connery was, of course, the best ("Nobody Does it Better"!) followed closely by Daniel Craig, even tho he needs to develop a sense of humor. Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan were good, looked good, had humor and beautiful Brit accents, George Lazenby wasn't that bad, but Timothy Dalton was a total disaster. Sloppy clothes and hair, no personality. Glad he only made 2 Bond movies. . .Best Bond girl: Ursula Andress. The old M was cute, but Judi Dench took that part to a new level. Liked the old Q, but that new kid is really appealing. Any comments? (Now we're rewatching the Indiana Jones movies, but there are only 4, so that won't take as long!)
About Skyfall Movie Skyfall is the twenty-third James Bond film produced by Eon Productions. It was distributed by MGM and Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2012. It features Daniel Craig in his third performance as James Bond, and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva, the film's antagonist. The film was directed by Sam Mendes and written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan. The film centres on Bond investigating an attack on MI6; the attack is part of a plot by former MI6 operative Raoul Silva to humiliate, discredit and kill M as revenge against her for betraying him. The film sees the return of two recurring characters to the series after an absence of two films: Q, played by Ben Whishaw, and Eve Moneypenny, played by Naomie Harris. Skyfall is the last film of the series for Judi Dench, who played M, a role that she had played in the previous six films. The position is subsequently filled by Ralph Fiennes' character, Gareth Mallory. Mendes was approached to direct the film after the release of Quantum of S ...

So today in our Portfolio II class our teacher Jim Loring brought out some old thumbnail pictures he had taken years ago while working in England. They were small and we were arranging them in order we thought they should go into a portfolio. I started looking closer at them. Nelson Mandela, Princess Diana, Judi Dench from the James Bond movies and others. He photographed Prime Minister Tony Blair and the queen of England. That's just the ones I found out about today. I said, "Jim you have been holding out on us!" He said, "Well that's just what I did". I was very impressed. Even more that he doesn't go around boasting. Very humble. WOW
Hollywood Movies are just so awsum!! With directors like Christopher Nolan,Steven Spielberg,James Cameron.etc With actors like Robert Downey Jr.,Leonardo DiCaprio,Christian Bale,Tom Cruise,Johnny Depp,Daniel Craig.etc With actresses like Kate Winslet,Judi Dench,Angelina Jolie,Nicole Kidman.etc Though we have some incredible people like Amitabh Bachchan,Manoj Bajpayee,Irfan Khan,Hrithik Roshan,Neeraj Pandey...etc We seem to have a tough time catching up with them, they have made themselves so much unparallel with thoughts, story lineups, dialogues that penetrate straight through your heart and lastly unparallel skill of acting; that we will,it seems, take years and years to even have a glimpse of hollywood in bollywood( of course I am not talking Agent Vinod being James Bond :D )
So one day I'm walking on my block. And there's a tag sale going on. I go in. I look around. My super Jimmy is in there. I come outside. There's a woman there. I'm looking at oh, I don't know, an end table. She tells me her name. It begins with an m. Her name. But she goes - everybody (and everybody knows her she claims) calls me "M." I go, oh, OK. On my computer when in my apartment there's a wireless room on it. It belongs to "Q." "M" = Judi Dench. "Q" = James Bond tech whiz Ben Whishaw amongst others. Q...is Nikki Finke on my computer. "Q", in one form or another, deleted my files in order to destroy evidence. She's been on my computer for years. She thinks because we both have diabetes I'm not going to crucify the Bermans and their ilk because of what they're doing. This is false. "Zero Dark Thirty" (and I don't blame the filmmakers) is a Republican recruiting film for women in the C.I.A. They were going to make what they were told. Do I believe the lead character Mya said (remembered) "I'm the mother ...
Skyfall (2012) reviewed by Frankie H. Fitch The opening sequence in Skyfall has our hero chasing someone and working with a partner, Eve (Naomie Harris). In an impossible situation, James Bond (Daniel Craig) is shot and presumed dead before the music starts. Once Adele is finished singing the title track to this wonderful soundtrack, the story takes the usual Bond spin with him coming back from the dead; which gives M (Judi Dench) pause. It has her superior, Garreth Mallory (Ralph Fiennes) questioning her administrative skills and offering her retirement. Silva (Javier Bardem) has stolen an encrypted file which contains the names of all the NATO agents on foreign soil. As the agents are assassinated on national satellite airwaves, MI6 is pressed into service to find the list all the while having to answer to Parliament for the *** up of the list disappearing. M is called on the carpet by MP Clair Dowar (Helen McCrory) has called the hearing to complain about what she believes is the ineptness of M ...
Skyfall, directed by Sam Mendes, is another fantastic entry into the 50 years of Bond movies.  The story centers on Bond and the villain of the story, Raoul Silva. Daniel Craig is perfect as James Bond. He brings just enough raw action and confidence to the character as we have come to expect from Bond. Craig also does a great job with Bond’s famous quick-witted comebacks and one liners. Javier Bardem does an amazing job with the main antagonist, Silva. He’s genuinely creepy and unsettling when he needs to be, and he makes for a great villain in the movie. The movie also features strong performances from Naomie Harris as Moneypenny and Judi Dench as M.   This movie is just a blast. It starts off with a bang and never lets up. The opening scene is spectacular and features a particularly great train fight between Bond and another spy. From there it transitions into a great montage featuring Adele’s Oscar winning Original Song Skyfall. The movie features some impressive action sequences throughout ...
I have a theory about James Bond, which actually explains his multiple accents and ages and how Judi Dench was "M" through Brosnan and Craig, however Skyfall puts it into question. My theory is this: Bond is an orphan. "M" even said that orphans make the best agents because they have no family to be concerned about. I think James Bond is an alias, a codename assigned to agent 007. When one dies or retires (and Double 0's have a short life expectancy), a new one is recruited and given the name. Hence, 007 can be anyone anywhere, making him a perfect spy as he blends in. So, I think Brosnan's 007 died and Craig's was recruited. This theory is clearly in practice concerning "M" and "Q", as John Cleese has been "Q" as was Desmond Llewelyn and Ben Whishaw. Then again, "Q" just stands for Quartermaster. However, there have been many people called "M" in the series. So, does my theory hold any water?

Relentless, exciting, suspenseful, and action-packed, "Skyfall" succeeds not only as another Bond movie but it also succeeds as a compelling origin story, despite it not reaching as deeply into this idea as it could have.  95/100.  A   Old dog: new tricks.     You’re not gonna see this one coming.  No matter what you expect to get from “Skyfall”, I promise you it isn’t what you expect it to be.  Yeah, its a high-adrenaline action film featuring Daniel Craig, yet again, as the double-daring, martini-sipping secret agent known as James Bond. I think we all pretty much understood that from the film's trailer.  But oh, is the experience much more than just being a simple action film.  Much more.     “Skyfall” takes place a few years after the events of “Quantum Of Solace”.  After a bomb threat has been declared on the headquarters of MI6, James Bond (Daniel Craig) is hired by M (Judi Dench) to find and apprehend the ex-MI6 operative known as Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem), a cyberterr ...
Please no comments on how much I look like my new cover pic! Lol! Well, seeing as many people may be suffering today after Swansea's fabulous win yesterday, what could be better than relaxing with a dvd? So here we go!!! SKYFALL 12 Bond's loyalty to M is tested as both of their pasts come back to haunt them! 007 has to track down & destroy the threat at all cost! When Bond's latest assignment goes wrong, agents around the world become exposed, MI6is attacked forcing M to relocate the agency. Her competence is questioned by Mallory ( Old Voldermort, Ralph Fiennes!) She turns to the only person she trusts, Bond! Can he protect her and the agency or will the mysterious silva get the better of them? I have to say, I am NOT a James Bond fan, especially Daniel Craig as Bond! But, as a reviewer, I must suffer for my art lol! In actual fact, this third outing for Daniel Craig ( and 23rd Bond film!) left me very pleasantly surprised! There is plenty of action, as you would expect from a Bond film but what sets thi ...
Why is Halle Berry doing the James Bond tribute? It should be Sean Connery or Judi Dench.
Top 5 Films     Seeing as the Oscars are happening tomorrow, I thought it was about time to weigh in on my own picks for the year in films, so I at least have 24 hrs before my opinion is completely irrelevant.   Honorable - Skyfall The latest in a long line of James Bond films, Skyfall had the right mix of elements -- great direction from Sam Mendez, stunning cinematography by Roger Deakins, and stand up performances by Judi Dench and Javier Barden -- to make it more than just another James Bond film. Added to this is the intrigue brought into the film by not only exploring aspects of the 007 mythology that hadn’t really been touched before (a look at an aging Bond and a window into his past) but tying it more closely to its history than its previous Daniel Craig installments. This is an action film that reaches a higher level of storytelling.   Les Miserables Like most fans of the musical, I thoroughly enjoyed Tom Hooper’s adaptation of the long running show. It’s epic, it’s a little too big ...

Skyfall (2012) - The latest James Bond film is the 23rd in the series, and the 3rd to star Daniel Craig as the titular secret agent. This time, 007 is facing off against Silva, played by Javier Bardem, and this bad guy has it in for Judi Dench's M. I'll ruin one thing and one thing only, this movie presents information that pretty well shuts down a popular fan theory, that each actor playing Bond represents a new man taking up the moniker entirely, so that each time one 007 died, the legend could keep growing, with another man filling the shoes. Or in this case, the Aston. All in all, this is a better movie than the previous installment. It tried a little less to be action scene after action scene, and presented an actual coherent plot. The only problem I had was Severine, a pretty woman who's only apparent purpose is to give James someone to have sex with before he meets the bad guy. No really, she's in the movie for 3 scenes, totalling about 10 minutes, in a 2+ hour film. Am I the only one who r ...
In response to congress woman Nancy Pelosi and her comment that congress can't have a salary decress as they need their dignity I refer you to the great gospel of James Bond films. In skyfall M (Judi Dench) states when she is in MI6 "Oh the *** ith dignity ill leave when the jobs done." The congress needs to live by this and not their party lines or under the table deals. Lets get the job done and pull this country out of the crapper. Yes we still ok for now but when we are complaining that a rating agency dared to drop our credit rating that just sounds pompous. There is a reason it happened. Even before the crisis if the USA was not the leading world power then even countrywide wouldn't haven gives us a loan. We spend way too much and earn far too little. Cut the crap congress and the job done. It's not tax more its not cut te whole darn budget, it's to one a middle ground. The govt does not need to run everything and its Ben prove time and time again at the gave is very in efficient at runnin ...

I finally got the chance to see Skyfall. My thoughts...a very good film. Not the best of the latter day Bonds (Martin Campbell's Casino Royale remake/series gets that accolade from me). Daniel Craig looks gaunt and haunting as Bond, and he and Judi Dench turn in the best performances for their character roles yet. Javier Bardem nearly steals the film...but is not in it long enough. In fact, the biggest problems I had with it was the script. I wish it was longer and there was more to the back stories (I'm sure there was, but it was cut down for length). But OMG...that Adele song (Skyfall) has to be the very worst... alltime very worst, did I say it already...alright, I will say it again...the worst song ever featured in a James Bond film that was written and sung specifically for the movie. No chorus, unlistenable...absolutely horrid piece of Yeesh! Oh, and I have more thoughts about some of the smaller, subtle moments in the film but do not want to reveal possible spoilers.
I'm willing to admit that there's definitely some strange stuff going on in the latest James Bond film, Skyfall. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that there are a goodly number of oddities. The movie was still grand to watch, if only because Judi Dench is phenomenal. Still, Screen Junkies' latest *** ..
So, we are now watching Roger Moore as 'James Bond.' He was never my favourite, and looking back on these old films now I know why. He came across more of an arrogant self-obsessed male chauvinist pig than Connery's Bond. It's an insult to women everywhere when they act so thick and then swoon at his feet! Can't wait till we start watching the Pierce Brosnan ones, when finally the women weren't such *** pathetic creatures! LOL!

Good Monday morning everyone. Nice quiet weekend here. Curtis and I had a 'date' Saturday. Went out for some good Mexican food at Compadre's.had my favorite, Fajita Nachos...YUM! Then we went to Greensboro to the movies. Saw 'Sky Fall'. Not a bad movie.but not a great one either. Daniel Craig makes a good James Bond, but I sure did hate to see M, (Judi Dench) get killed off though. I liked her in the part. Sarah and Dusty both had to work yesterday, so Curtis and I watched DJ. That is one busy little man. Lord help his Mama and Daddy when he gets to be fully mobile!! He is a very good baby though. Went to sleep about 9 or so and we never heard a peep out of him till I woke him up around 530 this morning. When I woke him up, the first thing he did was smile at me. It doesn't get much better than that with a 7 month old! Hope everyone has a great week!!
SKYFALL,one of the best James Bond movie ever.Great Daniel Craig,Javier Bardem,Judi Dench & production
Finally saw the Skyfall after a long wait. Bravo Sam Mendes (and Roger Deakins?), for such aesthetically beautiful shots that I didn't expect from a James Bond film! I have liked Judi Dench as M, but yeah, she might be getting too old...
I saw my second James Bond today - SKYFALL at the cheap theater in Jeff City. It's really good! It's all about Judi Dench!

Included with the SKYFALL Blu-ray is Shooting Bond, and more than three hours of special features.
Watching "Casino Royale". Released in 2006 as the 21st installment of the highly successful James Bond franchise; the movie, based on the very first Ian Fleming Bond novel, was consider a reboot of the series, and starred Daniel Craig as the British super spy, despite Judi Dench reprising her role as "M" from the Pierce Brosnan-era films. Like many other Bond films, it was a success at the box office, grossing almost $600 million worldwide, including a North American gross total of $167 million, with an opening total of $41.8 million. It is currently the second-highest grossing film in the Bond franchise following the release of the latest film, "Skyfall".
Finished watching 'Skyfall' and 'Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.' Both freat movies that recommend watching. I laughed when M and Bond were fleeing in the original James Bond's 'Aston Martin' from the earlier Bond films with Sean Connery. He threatened to eject her when she started to complain about the car: "Go ahead. Eject me-see if I care!" lol As for the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, it is a brilliant British Comedy with an ensemble cast that includes Judi Dench. It's a feel good movie about about a bunch of retiree's starting a new adventure in their twilight years.
Judi Dench Disappointed By Skyfall Oscars Snub! Dame Judi Dench thinks it's a ''great pity'' 'Skyfall' has been snubbed at the Oscars. The 78-year-old star is bitterly disappointed the 23rd chapter in the James Bond franchise failed to earn a single Academy Award nomination in the main categories, especially after being tipped to buck the trend for big budget blockbusters losing out. She told BBC Radio 4: ''I'm very, very sorry that nothing has been recognised. That's a great pity. I thought Sam Mendes directed it absolutely beautifully. It was a terrific film.'' The Daniel Craig fronted action film - which was nominated for eight BAFTA awards on Wednesday (09.01.13) including Supporting Actress for Judi's portrayal of MI6 chief M - was given five nods in the Oscars' technical categories like sound editing and Best Original Song for Adele's haunting opening credits track 'Skyfall'. However, the British actress wonders whether there might be a prejudice against the spy franchise since she thought Sam Mende ...
Veteran British actress Dame Judi Dench has finally been recognised by the Bafta awards for her role as M in James Bond, as Skyfall receives eight nominations this year.
Veteran actress Judi Dench is saddened that the new James Bond blockbuster 'Skyfall' missed out on major nominations for the 2013 Academy Awards. The 78-year-old British actress, who plays spy chief M in the film, was surprised to learn that Sam Mendes was not recognised in the Best Director categor...
- Disappointment at Oscar's - Dame Judi Dench has expressed her disappointment that the latest 'James Bond' movie 'Skyfall' failed to get any nominations in the main acting categories. The 78 year old star wasn't alone in thinking 2013 could be the first year Bond was taken more seriously by The Academy. It has however picked up nods for cinematography, sound editing and mixing. Director Ang Lee meanwhile has said he's ''shocked'' that fellow filmmakers Ben Affleck and Kathryn Bigelow aren't in the running for 'Best Director'. Lee, who himself made the cut with 'Life Of Pi', said that it was strange because both Ben and Kathryn haven't missed out on any other big nominations throughout the award season.
Congratulations to 007! Skyfall was nominated for 5 Academy Awards including Best Original Song "Skyfall" by Adele. Seriously, the best song to be heard by human ears in decades! There should be zero reason why it doesn't go Five-4-Five! I do think Javier Bardem was clearly better than any of the supporting actor nominees and I would say Dame Judi Dench deserved a nod after she learns that James Bond has died in the line of duty. Who else could deliver "Take the Bloody Shot" better than her? In all honesty, I also must say the film deserved a nomination for Best Picture. None of these other nominees can cross $1 Billion Worldwide in 2012-2013.
I better get my last reviews of 2012 in before the Academy Award nominations are read in the morning. With these last four films, I hit 52 movies in 2012 on the big screen. Let's see what I can do in 2013... Movie - Skyfall. This film easily jumps up the ranks as one of my all-time favorite Bond movies. After the "all action, no substance" approach that Quantum Of Solace took, I was a bit worried. I'm very pleased to report that my faith in the Daniel Craig incarnation of James Bond has been restored, and it didn't even take him walking out of the ocean in a pair of squarecuts to do it (*drool*). A ghost from M’s (Judi Dench) past returns to make her pay for her sins by using every bit of the MI6 technology against them. Bond, who has been presumed dead after a near fatal battle in the pre-opening credits action sequence, returns (somewhat broken) to duty in order to save the organization and M. Javier Bardem, as the villain, Raoul Silva, is gloriously arrogant and focused on making M and all of MI6 suf ...
007: SKYFALL Movie Review SUMMARY In the latest installment of the James Bond series, the loyalty of James Bond (played by Daniel Craig) to the leader of M16 whose name is M (played by Judi Dench) will be tested by a former agent named Raoul Silva (played by Javier Bardem) who is out to kill M. HISTORY OF BOND James Bond (or Agent 007) works for the M16, which is the British Secret Intelligence Service. This is the 23rd Bond movie and the 50th anniversary of James Bond’s films. Originally a book series written by Ian Fleming, it has broken out into an almost “cult following” movie series. Actors Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig have all played the famous Bond character before. James Bond starts out with an amazing opening sequence that is filled with action. It hooks you right from the very beginning and it keeps you on your feet, in suspense, even though you might know what is coming next. Bond mixes action and comedy together, which wo ...

Watching the James Bond episode of Graham Norton. Daniel Craig is perfect. Judi Dench? Also perfect. Javier Bardem? Terrifying.
We saw the James Bond film today. We thought it was good but when it showed a boat it was like a scene from the Onedin Line and some of the James Bond theme music sounds like it is from the Milk Tray advert. The only part of the film I thought was horrible was the killing of M, Dame Judi Dench. No one wants to go and see a film and see a person being killed.

Who's your favorite "M" in the James Bond movies: Bernard Lee. John Huston. Robert Brown, Edward Fox, Judi Dench or somebody else. How's that?
Got the biggest *** when they pulled out the DB5 during Skyfall!!! Also, thank you for fixing James Bond - M is back to being a man! Ralph Finnes is awesome. I could see him replacing Judi Dench from a mile away. I knew that was Moneypenny too as soon as he said they hadn't been introduced properly yet.
Greg and I spent Black Friday at the movies. We saw "Skyfall." I can't believe the James Bond phenomenon is 50 years old this year. Daniel Craig is better than ever, as is Judi Dench. I never could really enjoy the Bond films until one day I came to the realization that you are not required to believe that anything you are watching on screen could actually take place. Suspension of disbelief comes easier to some than to others! Once you learn to enjoy the fantasy, gritty realism takes a back seat!! Besides, I have seen too much gritty realism in real life, as of late.
An early birthday present by seeing Skyfall on its premiere night. In my opinion, Skyfall is the best Bond in its 50 year history to date. No doubt, Daniel Craig is right up there or has surpassed Sean Connery (depending on your point of view) as the best James Bond in franchise history to date and Judi Dench is the best M in franchise history to date. To all movie goers, particularly Bond fans, a must see
Just finished reading Anthony Breznican's Oscar nomination predictions in the Nov 9-16 issue of Entertainment Weekly. For Best Picture he predicts the usual (Argo, Lincoln, Les Miserables, Silver Linings Playbook etc) and for long shots he lists Django Unchained, The Hobbit, The Sessions etc but no Skyfall! I just don't get it. Skyfall is not just a good picture but a great James Bond picture! It has everything that an Oscar nominated picture should have yet because it's "Bond" nobody will consider it? For Best Actor he predicts the usuals and for longshot Jack Black for Bernie? No Daniel Craig because it's a "Bond" picture! Best Supporting Actress he lists Sally Field, Anne Hathaway, Helen Hunt and longshots Blythe Danner, Scarlett Johannsen and Rosemarie DeWitt but no Judi Dench? Nope, because it's a "Bond" picture! The craziest omission is that for Best Supporting Actor he predicts Alan Arkin, Tommy Lee Jones, Philip Seymour Hoffman etc and for longshots Matthew Mcconaughey for Magic Mike? Ma ...
As I watched "Skyfall" for the second time today I thought more and more that this is an Oscar caliber picture. If the Academy doesn't nominate it for Best Picture, Javier Bardem for Best Supporting Actor and Judi Dench for Best Supporting Actress then they once again all have their heads up their *** I am so tired of a picture not being nominated because it's a blockbuster. "Skyfall" is the BEST James Bond picture ever! I know that Adele will get nominated for writing and singing the theme song and I hope she wins!
saw "Skyfall"...and thought it was excellent! Honestly, people, it's one of the best Bond films in the entire series, if not the best made. James Bond (Daniel Craig) goes AWOL, for several months, as he is injured in a mission and presumed dead. He returns to MI6 when a new threat in the form of Silva (Javier Bardem) begins attacking his boss, "M" (Judi Dench). His loyalties and physical limits are put to the test. Bond is back, people! The film is a true return to form for Bond: Awesome action scenes, imaginative score and (I know, this is gonna be some 'throw-down' words) but probably the best Bond villain EVER! Bardem's Silva is the most effective Bond villain I've ever seen, his mere presence bringing a sense of unease/tension. Craig also turns in a good performance as Bond (his best yet), though he is still not my favorite, I just think he's too rough. This is, in my opinion, the best directed Bond film: Sam Mendes' direction is superb, with rich atmosphere and the cinematography is gorgeous, no Bond ...
Colin Salmon, after being in some James Bond movies was then in Some Girls. I expect Judi Dench to make the same career move.
We saw Skyfall yesterday. It was really a good movie. Judi Dench gave, as always, an outstanding performance. Javier Bardem plays a scary psychotic killer. He is fabulous. Daniel Craig makes a good Bond, James Bond. They bring back a couple of the traditional Bond themes as a homage to the original Bond. All in all a fun movie.
As someone who came out of his mother's womb the same year that Dr No first menaced Sean Connery, SKYFALL, to me, is an inspiration of marvelous reinvention. Sam Mendes has directed an Oscar-worthy Bond film. Craig inhabits the role of James Bond in a way that his predecessors haven't. In fact, he's the closest to Ian Fleming's creation in my opinion. Almost everything was spot-on in SKYFALL, including Adele's theme song, which for once, does tie in with the film's climax. It was also gratifying seeing the regulars, especially Judi Dench (her best portrayal as M), being an integral part of the proceedings, than as window dressing.
saw excellent Judi Dench movie featuring Werner Heisenberg as James Bond! Tank train!
Love: author Margaret Maron, whose new book is released tomorrow, ensuring a well-read Thanksgiving; Womancraft gifts in Chapel Hill; Dr. Sarah Dotters Katz, who NEVER runs out of energy, compassion, or good ideas; those who still rake their leaves; seeing the lights strung up at Christmas tree lots on my way home at night; the name of James Bond's boyhood home, "Skyfall," even though the movie was "eh" (thin plot--granted, this IS a James Bond film, Javier Bardem WASTED as a board treading villain, and a prisoner escape stolen right from "Silence of the Lambs"; even {SPOILER ALERT} Judi Dench looked relieved to die at the end). Hate: nearly hitting a sprinting doe and gray fox on 15-501 on the way to work this a.m. (stay safe and drive the Speed Limit, guys!); the soporific effects of turkey.
When I grow up I either wanna be Judi Dench in James Bond or Judi Dench in Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Or in Chocolat.
I love that Judi Dench was the first person to drop an F-bomb in a James Bond movie. Rock on, Dame Judi!
In SKYFALL we get to know the real James Bond a little more than we ever have. Sam Mendes expertly deepened our love of the timeless 007 as a real human, with real human needs and flaws. Judi Dench was flawless as M, and I personally have the hots for the beautiful and talented Naomie Harris who plays Eve [Moneypenny, surprise!] She was a scene stealer in Danny Boyle's 28 DAYS LATER. How could you not love to hate Javier Bardem? He was great but.he was supposed to be ex-MI6? A Spaniard? Really? I'm supposed to believe he was once loyal to the United Kindom? Regardless, I loved the movie and the casting. It worked. I was shaken and stirred. I give it 4 - 0s out of 5.

I grew up with Sean Connery & Roger Moore but I have to say I like Daniel Craig as James Bond. And I love Judi Dench!
Deb and I went to see the new James Bond flick Skyfall last night. For anyone thinking about seeing it, I thought it was the best Bond movie ever and Daniel Craig embodies Bond better than the other actors who've played the role (including Sean Connery). Also a terrific supporting cast, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Judi Dench and Albert Finney. Highly recommended.
'SKYFALL': Four and a Half Stars (Out of Five)     The 50th anniversary of the James Bond series brings us the third appearance of Daniel Craig as Bond in it's twenty-third film.  Judi Dench makes her seventh (and final) appearance as M in her biggest turn as the role yet.  Javier Bardem also...
Amr Ahmed Al Ayat Mostafa Yehia Hashem e7na fatna kol da :D:D The film begins in Istanbul, where James Bond (Daniel Craig) finds fellow MI6 agent Ronson critically wounded and the hard-drive of a laptop missing, the contents of the hard-drive not yet revealed. Bond gives chase to the enemy, a professional hitman by the name of Patrice (Ola Rapace), with the help of MI6 operative Eve (Naomie Harris), first by car, then by motorbike across the roofs of buildings until finally the two men end up on a train. Bond is shot in the shoulder by Patrice whilst trying to make his way onto the train. The two then begin fighting hand-to-hand on top of the moving train, whilst further up the line Eve has taken position with a rifle ready to take out Patrice, however Bond and Patrice are still grappling with each other denying Eve a clear shot. M (Judi Dench) gives the order to Eve to take the shot, but Bond is hit and falls into the river below, apparently dead. M begins writing Bond's obituary. The next day she is or ...
Saw "Skyfall-007" movie this weekend. If you are a James Bond fan, I highly recommend it. Lots of suspense and LOTS of stuff getting blown up! Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Judi Dench and Javier Bordam were all great in it. Javier Bordam was down right creepy!!
Dame Judi Dench is on my Aer Lingus flight to Belfast...so if she's Q...does that make me James Bond?
SKYFALL-2012(PG-13)-NOV. 9. DIRECTOR:Sam Mendes. STARRING:Daniel Craig/JUDI DENCH/Javier Bardem/Ralph Fiennes/Naomie Harris/Berenice Marlohe/Albert Finney/Ben Whishaw/Rory Kinnear/OLA RAPACE/HELEN MCCRORY/NICHOLAS WOODESON/BILL BUCKHURST/ELIZE DU TOIT/WOLF BLITZER. SYNOPSIS 007(Daniel Craig) becomes M's only ally as MI6 comes Under Attack, & a mysterious new villain emerges with a diabolical plan. James Bond's latest mission has gone horribly awry, resulting in the exposure of several undercover agents, and an all-out attack on M16. Meanwhile, as M(Judi Dench) plans to relocate the agency, emerging Chairman of the Intelligence & Security Committee Mallory (Ralph Finnes) raises concerns about her competence while attempting to usurp her position, & Q(Ben Whishaw) becomes a crucial ally. Now the only person who can restore M's reputation is 007. Operating in the dark with only field agent Eve(Naomie Harris) to guide him, the world's top secret agent works to root out an enigmatic criminal mastermind named S ...
I saw my first James Bond movie when The Spy Who Loved Me aired on ABC. I've seen every James Bond film numerous times and have read all of Ian Fleming's books. My favorite Bond actor is obvious: Connery. My favorite movie is an oddball: On Her Majesty's Secret Service. If they had given Lazenby a chance to make the role his own, he would have been just fine. I HATE most of Roger Moore's films, I can't stand his jokey, winky, catch-phrasey Bond. Dalton was good but doomed. Brosnan was a endearing snooze. I do have a deep and abiding love for this series, though. Which brings us to Skyfall... I enjoyed Casino Royale a lot. I felt *meh* for Quantum Of Solace. Daniel Craig is awesome in the role -- second only to Connery. Skyfall is filled with a lot of amazing beats and action and it seems intent on world-building for the next few Bond films. It's nice to see some of those familiar elements brought back into play and the payoff is very cool. Judi Dench is awesome as M and I feel Javier Bardem brought a litt ...
I haven't watched any of the James Bond movies but this was great. Judi Dench gave me Meryl Streep and was awesome, go see the movie
After being a little disappointed by Quantum Of Solace, I'm happy to see the James Bond franchise back on track with Skyfall. Now this is the sequel I expected after Casino Royale! Skyfall wisely sticks with the grittier version of the character established when the series was rebooted but also reintroduces some elements that makes this outing feel less like a Bourne movie and more like a Bond movie. Speaking of Bond, Daniel Craig once again proves why he's the best since Connery, if not better. He's always been able to handle the physical nature of Bond but he seems much more relaxed here than in Quantum and his interplay with Judi Dench's M is one of the best aspects of Skyfall. Follow that up with some stunning cinematography (loved the sequence on top of the neon-lit Shanghai Skyscraper) and one of the most memorable villain's the series has had in decades (Javier Bardem is just as great here as he was in No Country For Old Men), and you have a movie that I suspect even non-fans will enjoy. Highl ...
Skyfall...brilliant. Maybe better than Casino Royale. Bardem was creepy/awesome. One of the best Bond villians of all time. And Daniel Craig and Judi Dench are always amazing. Forget Jason Bourne, James Bond forever!
Daniel Craig Bond films: Casino Royale- 5/5 Quantum Of Solace- 4/5 Skyfall- 5/5 Skyfall is a classica Bond film yet is a totally new one, its pays homage to the past, while moving and progressing forward. It was classy, sexy, elegant, action packed. I love this movie. I'm in love with Skyfall. This ranks way up there. Like in my top 5 of Bond films. James Bond films are personal since Thunderball is the first film I EVER saw and has a huge reason in why I'm going into film. Daniel Craig IS James Bond and I will be hihgly upset once he leaves the role. The real Bond girl here is Judi Dench as M who owns this movie. Javier Bardem, is creepy, unsettling, nerve-racking, unpleasant. An instant classic Bond villain. Lots of past vs. present themes but they work and what I really love? Its a Bond film set almost entirely in London. The action scenes are really pillars holding up a great, deep, psychological character drama. Sam Mendes is just the brilliant choice and Roger Deakins cinematography is stunning and ...
Not a fan of Daniel Craig as James Bond. Didn't care for "Casino Royale" (which got great reviews) and I skipped "Quantum Of Solace" altogether (which got bad reviews). However, that all changed tonight after seeing "Skyfall," which was very good. Fast moving storyline and great supporting cast with Ralph Fiennes, Jarvier Bardem, and Judi Dench, whose M was a major player this time around. This movie essentially completes the backstory/orgins of the 007 character, so curious where they'll take it next. Wondering if they'd consider updating some of the classics like Thunderball, Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only . . . .
Skyfall: Roger Deakens made this film gorgeous with his cinematography. Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Naomi Harris, and Ralph Fiennes gave incredible acting performances. Sam Mendes directed a masterpiece that rivals "From Russia with Love" and "Goldfinger". So happy. The tributes within the film to past entries in the franchise were perfectly timed and gave me chills. As an absolutely insane James Bond nerd/geek/obsessed moron who yes, did dress up as 007 himself to the theater, I approve and give it 5 stars. Bond, James Bond is back and here to stay...
Saw Skyfall yesterday and that is one good James Bond movie. Javier Bardem was superb and Judi Dench's M died. Ralph Fiennes is the new M.

Saw an early release of Sky Fall: ...Good. 7.4 Things I Liked: Javier Bardem, AMAZING scary and hilarious. The Cinematography is also amazing, refreshing and feels like an Academy Award winner film. The score is beautiful and epic and really moves you. Great beginning and climax and the very end has nice "tip of the hat" to the old series. Daniel Craig and Judi Dench are at there best and Ralph Fiennes is a nice edition to the family. Things I Didn't Like: Javier Bardem... he isn't in the movie as much as I would of liked. The middle is a bit slow and takes while for it to start connecting the dots, which means confusion for a while. Some times I had trouble being emerged in bonds world. Its all about the mission and less about bond. The character wasn't well developed like he was in Casino Royale. Sam Mendez is a very versatile director, American Beauty, Road To Perdition to James Bond. Hes good and understand good film and gives you want a good looking action film. I would say see it if your a James ...

just home from seein film Skyfall(James Bond),Daniel Craig not too pushed about in role Judi Dench stole the show ,& the baddie was a hoot.his character kinda similar to bad guy (John Malkovich)in Con Air film, loved Scottish house where James lived.some witty 1 liners by various cast.(hope i didnt give too much away any1 not seen it yet.)
Some informal critique of last nights Skyfall: 1. There was no car chase of note. I feel cheated. 2. Judi Dench's M is possibly the best character from throughout the entire franchise. 3. Daniel Craig is now the best James Bond. 4. Javier Bardem has re-written the rules on how a Bond villain should be. Outstanding. 5. Casino Royale is still the best Bond film. Discuss.
Skyfall: The brooding, battered James Bond is back, not exactly with a bang though. Daniel Craig is less emotional this time around, more humorous with his trademark wisecracks and startling smartness. The opening pre-credits sequence is absolutely mind-blowing and ingenious, but the rest of the action sequences do not match up to that standard although they are fantastic in their own right. The plot is coherent with the sensational Javier Bardem playing the sardonic evil villain with aplomb, proving to be a well-crafted nemesis, the "Joker" to Bond's "Batman." Judi Dench as M gets good screentime to show her own vulnerability since the plot revolves around her past and her mistakes. Naomie Harris is good enough in her role while the French beauty Marlohe is the typically sultry Bond girl who gets awfully less screen time. Ben Whishaw is good as the Q and adds a unique perspective to the character. Sam Mendes gets his bearings right as a director but somehow the screenplay is uneven and unstructured. This ...
internet spoil the fun on watching new movies.. they done it on Marinda Tate being Talia al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises.. now they ruing the fun on knowing that Eve is actually Miss Moneypenny in the new James Bond's Skyfall, although halfway i already figure out that Lord Voldemort is going to replace Judi Dench's M and become the new M
The 23rd James Bond movie SKYFALL is a MUST SEE movie of all! The gadget master Q returns for the first time after 2 movie absence in the franchise! Ben Whishaw is the NEW actor for the role of Q. Judi Dench returns as M for the 7th & FINAL time, this wil be her FINAL ROLE as the STRICT boss of James Bond!
Skyfall (2012) by Sam Mendes - Done. Touching upon the vulnerabilities of M and 007, the film brings us a rare glimpse of James Bond as an ordinary human, rather than the unstoppable super spy. Farewell to Judi Dench as M.
Istanbul is in many ways the perfect city for James Bond. Split between two continents by one of the world’s busiest waterways, the city buzzed with spies in the Cold War. It remains full of intrigue today, a centre of often secretive efforts against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al As...
Yes they did it!!! They made a James Bond film as good as the Connery ones with all the classic Bond bits. Brilliant pre credits sceen, smart script, great cast (Judi Dench is superb) The bad guy is awsomely camp. The whole thing just looks great and classy. Adeles theme song is emotional and works and the original Aston Martin just topped it off. One off the best Bond films ever! 10/10
Skyfall- Daniel Craig, the forty four year old veteran actor has acted as 55 year old ageing Bond, James Bond, with conviction and class. Javier Bardem as the antagonist is highly impressive, especially his introduction scene (when he comes out of the lift) is seen to be believed. The Spaniard steels the show. Judi Dench as M, Ben Whishaw as Q and Naomi Harris as Eve have done full justice to their role. Please do not miss the first chase, shot in Istanbul-your ticket cost is fully recovered in the first 20 minutes. One of the best Bond movies I have seen. Do not miss it.
Both stopped to speak with stars of the latest James Bond movie including Daniel Craig, Judi Dench and Bérénice Marlohe before taking their seats in the auditorium of the Royal Albert Hall.
Putting the "intelligence" in MI6, James Bond 007 "Skyfall" reps a smart, savvy and incredibly satisfying addition to the 007 oeuvre, one that places Judi Dench's M at the center of the action. It's taken 23 films and 50 years to get Bond's backstory, but the wait was worth it. In Sam Mendes' hands, the franchise comes full circle, revealing the three-film Daniel Craig cycle to be both prelude and coda to the entire series via a foxy chess move that puts these pics on par with Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy as best-case exemplars of what cinematic brands can achieve, resulting in a recipe for nothing short of world domination. - Variety

Richard Kiel and Roger Moore have huge hearts. They sent such amazing gifts to us. Yes out wedding was blessed by Bond.. James Bond
I'll tell you what's on my mind, the next installment in the 50 year long James Bond franchise will be out in roughly 2 months and never in my life have I anticipated the arrival of a relatively mainstream film. Though Craig is not my first choice for Bond, this film seems promising from what I've seen. It's either terrible or fantastic to combine Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Daniel Craig, Albert Finney, and Naomi Harris. We shall wait and see...
