I have a lot of admiration for Ivica Olic. One of the best.
Ivica denied a fourth for the by a point-blank Kirschbaum save. Unlucky!
Ivica Olic looks like if Leonid Brezhnev waxed his eyebrows and asked his mum to cut his hair like Mario Gomez.
DISALLOWED GOAL! 38' Ivica Olic has the ball in the net, but he's adjudged to be in an offside position.
CHANCES! 20' Christian Gentner goes close at one end, before Ivica Olic rattles the bar at the other.
Mighty close from Ivica back in the starting XI today. The Croatian evergreen cuts infield and skims the bar with a fierce left-footer

Ivica Olic jumps brazil keeper Julio Cesar and goal to 2-2 is disallowed. Brazil vs Croatia in Fifa World Cup 2014.
Brazil beat Croatia 3-1 in World Cup opener Two goals from Neymar and a late Oscar strike inspired Brazil to a 3-1 comeback victory over Croatia in the opening game of the 2014 World Cup. The host nation fell behind to an early own goal from Marcelo, before Neymar was perhaps fortunate to be shown just a yellow card after catching Luka Modric in the throat with a stray arm. Soon after, the 22-year-old levelled with a fine 25-yard effort on his left foot, before converting a controversial second half penalty after Dejan Lovren was adjudged to have brought down Fred. And as the game entered injury-time, man-of- the-match Oscar sped forward and toe-poked home an effort from the edge of the box to give Brazil breathing space and, most importantly, three points. While Brazil had the luxury of naming the same side that started last year's Confederations Cup final success over Spain, Croatia were without suspended striker Mario Mandzukic, leaving Nikica Jelavic to lead the line in his absence. Also without injur ...
1.Neymar was lucky to escape a red card for an elbow on Luka Modric shortly before the Barcelona star equalised. 2.Croatia also had a goal from Ivan Perisic chalked off for what the Japanese official deemed to be a foul on home goalkeeper Julio Cesar by Ivica Olic. 3.Nishimura caused controversy with a string of questionable decisions, culminating in the awarding of a highly dubious penalty – given against Lovren for an alleged foul on Fred - from which Neymar put Brazil 2-1 up. 4.Lovren added: “I think we played a good game and had the quality to compete with Brazil but not against 12 men. 5.“We talk about respect – the Fifa people spoke to us about it – and what happens? It is better the cup is given immediately to Brazil.” CONGRATULATIONS BRAZIL. YOU DID IT. HEXA ! ! !

summary of nupleased perform of brazil Amid all the talk of pressure on Brazil going into this game, Marcelo's own goal represented a fairly disastrous start. But Neymar's equaliser before half time settled some of the nerves and sparked a second-half turnaround. Croatia are entitled to be furious with the penalty awarded against Dejan Lovren for a supposed tug on the shirt of Fred, although Oscar added some gloss to the scoreline with a late strike that was no more than he personally deserved. While the performances of Oscar and Neymar offer plenty of encouragement that Brazil can justify their status as World Cup favourites, there was evidence of weakness elsewhere. I vote Ivica Olic as the man of the match.
Brazil won, but performance was far from a team pitted to win the title!!! Virtually witnessed a two men army, Neymar, Oscar, two kids absolutely overwhelmed and overburdened with the Herculean task at hand and immense pressure of playing at home, Inexperience was seen all through out. Defense was more like an open invitation to the goal post, which olic made the maximum of at his terms!!! Many times than not Brazil was served their game by the croats to which the coach scolari had no answers other than to cry out loud!!! Hulk, Fred, & Paulinho didn't even reflect in the match and Marcelo was seen every were with no intend and zero penetration be it as a defender or an attacking backer!!! Zero coordination and absolutely sluggish passing and crosses were seen all through out and for more than once i couldn't believe it was Brazil playing as there was no flow to the game!!! Over all i c the Japanese referee Yuichi Nishimura as the hero of the match along with the croat Ivica olic!!! As of ma team, better k ...
Football - World Cup Two-goal Neymar fires Brazil to controversial opening win World Cup Group A, Arena de Sao Paulo, Lisbon, Brazil 3 (Neymar 29, 71 pen, Oscar 90) Croatia 1 (Marcelo og 11) Neymar saved Brazil's blushes as a controversial late penalty saw him strike a double to give the hosts a 3-1 win over Croatia. The Barcelona forward converted a hotly disputed spot-kick 19 minutes from time after Fred tumbled under minimal contact from Dejan Lovren. It capped a superb night for the 22-year-old on a personal level as he marked his 50th cap for his country by drilling in a low 25-yard effort just shy of the half hour after Niko Kovac's side had silenced a buoyant home crowd. The team nicknamed Vatreni started well and stunned the stadium on 11 minutes when Real Madrid defender, Marcelo put through his own net after Nikica Jelavic had failed to connect with Ivica Olic's left-wing cross. But Neymar led the response and after the controversial late penalty, Chelsea's Oscar raced clear and sealed it with a ...
Remember how good Ivica Olic was on CM? Boss.
"If that was penalty then we should play basketball, not football!", We were also denied an equalizer when Ivica Olic was judged to have fouled Julio Cesar with the score at 2-1 - Niko Kovac (Croatia coach)
Forget Neymar, Brazil’s new national hero is Yuichi Nishimura Desmond Kane By Eurosport10 hours ago.Brazil should buy a few Brahmas forNeymar, and a couple of Asahis for a Japanese referee called Yuichi Nishimura. Well done, chaps. Terrific job.Without these two central figures, Croatiawould have escaped with a point from the World Cup's opening match in Sao Paulo. They probably merited a draw from a frantic Group A get-together that should never have finished 3-1 in Brazil's favour.Neymar scored goals in either half, the second from the penalty spot on 71 minutes, but such happenings could not have occurred without the contribution of the wretched Mr Nishimura. Asia's referee of the year in 2012 chose the biggest match of his career to turn in a horrid performance. Again, really well done, old sport. With Luis Felipe Scolari's side trailing toMarcelo's own goal on 11 minutes, Nishimura opted only to book the Barcelona forward Neymar when he clearly elbowed his Real Madrid adversary Luka Modric in the ...

World Cup: Five(5) Things I Learnt From Brazil 3-1 Croatia Power vs playmakers: Croatia prevailed in midfield, but lacked the end product; In the centre of the pitch, Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic faced off against Luiz Gustavo and Paulinho. The contrast was stark: the two Croats are technically perfect, while the Brazilians are physically tough but lack creativity. In a sense, this was skill vs brawn – but neither had a definitive impact on yesterday's opening day result. While Modric; practically unrecognizable without his locks - combined well with Ivica Olic to kickstart attacks down the left, Gustavo and Paulinho were unable to provide much of an outlet going forward. Gustavo at least was useful in ball pretention, moving it sideways and backwards; but there was little attacking thrust from either midfield. Croatia frequently counter-attacked in the first half, and it was an equal contest in the second, with Kovacic or Olic frequently storming into the box. Paulinho looked jaded at times, and it’s ...
After a very colourful opening ceremony that had Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull and Claudia Leitte singing the official song, we got down to the business that has gathered the world in Brazil. The Brazilian anthem was heartily sung and the crowd continued to sing the national anthem even after the music stopped. Neymar was the saviour for his country once again as he scored the equaliser and then the winner - one in each half to bring his international record to 33 goals in 50 appearances. Croatia made a game of it but Brazil probably merited the win with the amount of possession. Croatia kicked off and got off the first shot through Mateo Kovacic then David Luiz replied with a tame header on five minutes. Then the first real chance came on seven minutes when Ivica Olic bullied Dani Alves but his header went marginally wide. This was the warning sign for the Selecao, but it was not heeded. Another run down the left in the 10t minute by Olic and a his cross was marginally touched by Jelavic and that took it into ...

Ivica Olic of Croatia challenges Julio Cesar of Brazil as he tries to make a save
Ivica Olic andaba de gambetas for days tho
Yuichi Nishimura has left room for serious doubt about favouring the hosts after a series of decisions that had a significant effect on the outcome of the match. Should Neymar have been sent off after planting an elbow in the face of Luka Modric? Should Croatia have had a goal ruled out when Ivica Olic was adjudged to have fouled keeper Julio Cesar? It is highly debatable. Should Brazil have been given the penalty that decided the game. This gave Brazil a comfortable win
Everybody talks of Brazil, Neymar, Ivica Olic n Croatia bt no one remembers tht The mighty San Antonio Spurs, fried Miami Heat, in their own Heat... It will take areal comeback n history for LeBron n the co to overturn the deficit... Otherwise the title already belongs to the super Spurs.
Nishimura was the villain for Croatia in Sao Paulo on Thursday with the 42-year-old awarding a penalty for minimal contact on Brazil striker Fred in the second half, which allowed the hosts to claim a 2-1 lead in the opening match of the FIFA World Cup. That decision and Nishimura's general performance was widely criticised but the AFC backed their man after the final for making 'big calls' at the Arena Corinthians. "(Nishimura) gave a strong performance in some high-pressure, split-second situations, with his awarding of a penalty to Brazil and adjudging...Ivica Olic for a foul on goalkeeper Julio Cesar (a minute earlier)," an article on the AFC's website read. In the 69th minute, Nishimura awarded a penalty to Brazil after Fred went down in the box when backing into Croatia defender Dejan Lovren. Neymar scored from the spot to notch his second goal before Oscar added a third late in the match to wrap up Brazil's 3-1 victory. While the AFC conceded that Fred 'may have been overdramatic as he went to grou ...
Enjoyable start to the Goals, controversy and our early favourite for the Golden Ball, Ivica Olic. What more could you ask for?
You can certainly see why Mark Hughes was so keen to land Ivica Olic for Stoke this summer - still looks a real threat.

Ivica Olic started really well, then decided he wanted to show the world he's the most skilful player ever seen. He isn't.
Despite being an ardent Brazilian fan I feel that Brazil got the favour of Japanese referee in crucial phases of the match. Hard luck for the fighting Croatian team. The penalty given to Brazil was meaningless. a Japanese joke!! Nishimura also ruled out a late Croatia goal for a foul on Julio Cesar by Ivica Olic. A jenuine goal disallowed. Soft Julio Cesar and a soft decision by the Japanese referee.
Brasil 3 vs Croatia 1: Brazil had a disastrous start when defender Marcelo found his own net while trying to clear a low cross by Ivica Olic in the 11th minute, but Neymar then showed why the nation's high hopes are all pinned on him. Brazil was then awarded a disputed penalty in the 71st minute after striker Fred went down inside the area under light contact, and Neymar scored the winner from the spot. Oscar slotted in the third in injury time.
Brazil Vs Croatia player ratings Brazil Julio Cesar: 6.5/10 Cesar wasn’t called on much, as Croatia preferred to sit back and absorb all Brazilian pressure. But, on the few occasions that he was tested, cesar responded magnificently. His highlight of the day was a good low save from a rasping drive by Ivan Perisic. Dani Alves: 7/10 Alves was a constant threat down the right flank, with his pace and poise on the ball providing plenty of problems for Sime Vrsaljko. He always provided an outlet for the midfielders to spray the ball to, and was tireless in his work. Thiago Silva: 6/10 Silva was solid, if unspectacular. His job is to command his troops, bellow out orders for the defenders to follow, and see off any threat to the goal. Silva did all that was asked of him in a very unassuming manner. David Luiz: 7/10 Luiz was more in the thick of the action than his defensive partner, Luiz made a few crucial blocks and interceptions, and overall, complemented Silva brilliantly. Luiz could have had a goal for h ...

Stephen Coyle recounts his student-days following Scotland last time they were at the World Cup. Was France '98 also the last time there was an own-goal scored in an opener? "Held out so well till another opening match OG and the earlier equalising penalty nearly brought the balcony down in Glasgow Uni union with the amount of jumping celebrations!" 58minsOscar is everywhere for the hosts right now, but Dani Alves sums up Brazil's sloppiness at the back. Five pointers from the match. 1,The atmosphere did not disappoint The atmosphere beforehand was extraordinary, even by the standards of Brazil’s fun-loving fans. Those famous yellow shirts masked the many imperfections in this half-finished stadium to provide spine-tingling support for the hosts. But the noise levels went stratospheric whenever Brazil scored. It was incredible, even for a World Cup, to hear a crowd react with quite so much fervour. Looking beyond the stands you could see fireworks exploding right across the city. This tournament badly needs a successful Selecao to maintain momentum and keep the locals engaged. If that success is attained, the ripples spread wide. 2. Can Brazil prevail with this defence? It is a legitimate question when Dani Alves was left stranded upfield as Ivica Olic raced down the left to create Croatia’s goal; when David Luiz failed to get close enough to Nikica Jelavic on the resulting cross, and when Thiago Silva is effectively the only true defender in that vul ...

Defender Marcelo marched into the history books on Thursday by scoring Brazil's first own goal at a World Cup. It was also the opening goal of the 2014 tournament, briefly puncturing the carnival atmosphere across a country where expectations are sky high that the hosts will lift the trophy at the final in Rio De Janeiro on July 13. Marcelo's mistake came in the 11th minute after Croatia forward Ivica Olic found space on the left to put in a teasing cross which his team mate Nikica Jelavic misdirected. The unfortunate Brazilian appeared to swing his right foot to clear the ball, but the late deflection saw it spin off his toe and roll tamely into the net. The 26-year-old left back looked in mild shock as he stood in the goalmouth contemplating his blunder. Marcelo later said he worked hard to remain calm.
Croatia scores but the goal is disallowed due to Ivica Olic's foul on Brazil's goalkeeper Júlio César.
*Correction: I meant... Ivica Olic looks like Daniel Craig from certain angles.
I haven't really calmed down yet, but just cheered myself up by remembering some of Ivica Olic's razzling in the defensive half.
PFB'S World Cup WATCH - DAY 1: Well, the World Cup is up and running, and, perhaps inevitably, Brazil won the opening match, defeating Croatia 3:1. Most of the attention was focused on Neymar, and he played an important role in Brazil's win, although he should have been sent off for use of the elbow. No mention of that on the FIFA website, which described Neymar as "the star of the show." Er, no. That would be Oscar, closely followed by Luca Modric. Luis Gustavo, substitute Bernard, (believe it or not) David Luis and, admittedly, Neymar - indiscretions notwithstanding - were also impressive for O Seleccão, whilst Sime Vrsaljko and Ivica Olic excelled for Croatia. Brazil were the better team in the first half, though Croatia's goal, prodded into his own net by Marcelo, was somewhat fortuitous. Neymar's equaliser was a slide-rule effort which eluded Pietikosa and bounced in off the post. Croatia were dogged in defence and were playing well, with Modric pulling the strings. Neymar should have been sent off ...

Ivica Olic , A blessing to any team.
Ed's analysis Game 1 (The Opener) - Brazil vs Croatia Well it's finally here, the world is back on! The host nation took on the small Eastern European Nation where 1/3 of Melbourne comes from heu heu hue. First off thank god that this edition of the world game's biggest event is in a time zone where us Australians can somewhat decently watch games. Moving on; Brazil played quite well, dominating in the possession stats, especially in the first half;l but were a little underwhelming for mine, early days though. On the flipside Croatia were quite good and until the ending moments, held together as a pretty well structured unit. Notable Events Marcelo own goal. Well Brazil scored first though into the wrong net. Good lead up work by Croatia and a rather well placed cross by 'Olic' made a moment of madness into success. Bizarrely we were treated to a new and sparkling ' goal line technology' usage moment. Though maybe it's just me but the ball looked pretty certain to have crossed that line. 2nd Neymar (Brazi ...

27 mins Brazil 0-1 Croatia First booking of the World Cup goes to - Neymar. He sees Luka Modric coming and clatters him with his forearm. Nasty one. He could have maybe seen red there. Drama! A terrible decision as Fred throws himself to the deck while backing into Dejan Lovren. Never a penalty - but it is given. Referee Yuichi Nishimura - are you sure? 83 mins Brazil 2-1 Croatia Croatia do have the ball in the net but not before referee Yuichi Nishimura gives a foul for Ivica Olic's challenge on goalkeeper Julio Cesar. Looking at it again, that's another soft decision which has gone Brazil's way. The hosts have had the rub of the green... Great decisions, just great
He may at times delivers a sweeping crosses for his team mates but Ivica Olic is too heavy, even unable to carry himself, Niko Kovac should sub him for a better technical player.
Ivica Olic gets it out wide again and almost finds Nikica Jelavic in the middle. As Chrissy Waddle says, Croatia are coming back into the game now. This half has not been anything like as entertaining. That may be a theme in the World Cup. It's hot and humid.
Brazil 1-1 Croatia Plenty of probing and passing from Brazil but they have not opened up Croatia since the break. A rare attack for the visitors then sees Ivica Olic go down and looking for a foul but he gets no change from the Japanese referee.
Ivica Olic has made that much mistakes that they are equal to the number of Cro football players born in Bosnia, A LOT !!!
Great start to the World Cup. Own goal from Marcelo after he deflected Ivica Olic's cross. Neymar levels the score after receiving a pass from the impressive Oscar. Looking forward to an entertaining second half. Brazil's defence looks suspect and Luiz Gustavo is not helping too. They need to buck up if they want to win this game!
Ivica olic is on show biz. hez giving away alot ov possesion.
Ivica Olic is feeling like a super star.
Ivica Olic bali ku Brazil so ama skill sana even giving away possession lol Ati the Croatian Ronaldinho hehehehe
Brazil back four cant handle Ivica Olic, yeah defo gonna win the World Cup.
Croatia's game plan meanwhile is working, with the 4-5-1 they are quite willing to bring Brazil on and it has worked for them on the counter attack. You have to start the Gane quick & Ivica Olic has been willing to run in to all that space on the left wing, he hits a low ball into the area, Nikica Jelavic misses it and it hits Marcelo on the left toe. Nothing in the Brazil game plan is working so far. And you have to say they are very happy with the pace Brazil are playing so far. There is no penetration and they need now it opted up the tempo. Fascinating opening period of this game and the Arena de Sao Paulo is still struggling to come to terms with that own goal. Come on Brazil.
GOAL!!! Croatia!!! Ivica Olic drives purposefully down the left; and his low cross is turned home by Marcelo. Own goal. Brazil 0-1 Croatia.
Have to say I've always been an admirer of ivica olic. Great wee player.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Ivica Olic is still an amazing striker/attacking midfielder. His work rate is impecabble, for a guy that's probably past his prime
And Croatia Scores. Marcelo with an own goal, after a swift cross by Ivica Olic. 10 minutes.

It's in there! What a start from Croatia, and they take an early lead! Again it's Ivica Olic down the left, he puts in a teasing cross which Nikica Jelavic miskicks, it hits Marcelo on the ankle behind him and goes in. That makes life very interesting.
Brazil 0-1 Croatia . Marcelo O.G. Ivica Olic played a part in the creation of the goal.

Under 2 hours to go until Brazil vs Croatia! Luiz Gustavo could be battling against Ivica Olic tonight.
Brazil are favorites to win the World Cup this time, not mainly because they are usually one of the dominant footballing teams but also because this time, they are playing at home soil. With their team boasted with stars like Neymar, Oscar and Hulk, their mesmerizing attack are strong enough to break through even the meanest of defenses. But if there is anything that needs to be noted is that Croatia is no pushover. With playmakers like Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic out there alongside their striker Mario Mandzukic, they have a strong side capable enough to go to the second round just like Brazil. With Mario Mandzukic performing his suspension duties after being red carded during their second last qualifying match. Croatia will miss his finishing skills but they will get a lot of chances with those two playmakers around and it will be time for the former Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic to compensate the loss of the current Bayern striker Mandzukic. But Brazil’s attack may prove to be too strong for Cro ...

The World Cup is finally set to get underway with Brazil hosting its first match on home soil in 64 years. While the build-up certainly has not been ideal within the country itself, Brazil appear primed to fulfil its hype as it enters the tournament as favourites. This very nearly was not the case. When Neymar rolled his ankle in training on Monday there would have been immediate concern. Although the 22-year-old was able to run off his injury, it was a scare for the nation – as losing Neymar would have been a huge blow – resulting in major changes. Luiz Felipe Scolari builds his team around Neymar – with some selections made to suit Neymar’s game and others having to alter their usual approach to suit the Barcelona attacker. And why not? Neymar is the undoubted star of the side – and a team building around its star is nothing new. Some may have concerns about Neymar after a rather solid season at Barcelona; however the striker had to adjust to being a cog in Tata Martino’s starting XI. His over ...
So you all knw Brazil and its stars...personally Oscar,Willian and Hulk are my favoured Sambas...but Croatia also has key players: Luka Modric, Darijo Srna, Ivan Rakitic, Mario Mandzukic, Eduardo, Ivica Olic, Nikita Jelavic..all I wanna see is spectacular goals..
Five reasons why Croatia can spoil Brazil's party 1) They have much more experience This squad is loaded with caps. Vedran Corluka, Ivan Rakitic, Luka Modric, Ognjen Vukojevic, Ivica Olic and Eduardo all have more than 50; goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa and captain right-back Darijo Srna have amassed more than 100. At least six of those eight players – maybe even all of them – will start the game. Compare that to Brazil’s expected line-up, where only Julio Cesar and Dani Alves have more than 50 caps, followed by Neymar with 49 appearances – and he’s only 22 and this is his first World Cup. All told, Croatia's squad has 910 caps to Brazil's 683 – but interestingly, the Croatians are on average a full year younger than Brazil (27.2 to 28.4). The team was built on a solid foundation put in place during Slaven Bilic’s reign (2006-2012). They have been together for a long time and have a family atmosphere in the locker room, enhanced by the managerial appointment of Niko Kovac, their former captain a ...
The Croatia of Alan Boksic, Znovimir Boban, Robert Prosinecki, Davor Suker, Slaven Bilic, Igor Tudor, Robert Jarni, Mario Stanic, and Dario Simic came to the France 98 World Cup as under dogs but before everyone could say jack!! they had thrashed pre tournament favourites Germany 3-0 and were in the semi finals, never underrate the Croatia of Luka Modric, Vedran Corluka, Ivan Rakitic, Ivica Olic, Mario Mandzukic, Edouardo, Dejan Lovren, Dario Srna and others cos they are capable of also going far.
BRAZIL vs CROATIA PREVIEW THE wait is about to end. In a few hours, millions, if not billions, will tune in to the Greatest Show on Earth! The 2014 World Cup in Brazil is set to kick off with home nation Brazil facing Croatia in the first Group A match. Both teams have looked impressive in friendlies but expectations amd pressure will be high for Brazil. Here is my take of what to expect in the first game: Brazil Luiz Felipe Scolari won the 2002 World Cup with players like Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho and Lucio. This time though, he has selected a good mix of young and experienced players. For this game, expect Scolari to stick with the winning Confederations Cup first XI. Julio Cesar should be the first choice goalie with PSG’s Thiago Silva set to captain the Selecao. Thiago will be partnered in central defence with his club’s new signing David Luiz. Just like Cafu and Roberto Carlos in the 2002 World Cup, expect Daniel Alves and Marcelo to bomb forward and provide crosses for t ...
Tonight I predict the biggest upset in History. Brazil 1 Croatia 2. Watch out for Luka Modric, Rakitic, Mandzukic and Ivica Olic.

Bayern Munich set a new record of 37 games unbeaten with a comfortable 3-0 win over Augsburg. Scotland lose six players for Croatia trip Six players have pulled out of the Scotland squad for Friday's 2014 World Cup qualifying match in Croatia, team officials announced on Monday. Full-backs Lee Wallace and Danny Fox, centre-back Gary Caldwell, Celtic pair Scott Brown and James Forrest, and midfielder Liam Bridcutt are the players to have withdrawn due to either injury or fitness concerns. As a result, Motherwell full-back Steven Hammell and Aston Villa central midfielder Barry Bannan have been drafted into the squad by manager Gordon Strachan. Scotland are seeking their first victory in UEFA qualifying Group A, but can no longer qualify for next year's tournament in Brazil. But West Bromwich Albion midfielder James Morrison has called on his Scotland team-mates to use the jibes as motivation to p ...

Ivica olic says that ireland will be their toughest opponents.
Teams, who are not couting Croatia as force in this Euro, might have to suffer a big deal. With a few favorable results and some breaks when they really need them, Croatia could surprise many people by breaking out of a tough group. Despite one weak link under the goal-post, the team looks extremely solid in the midfield. I am banking on Luka Modric (Tottenham), Ivan Perisic and the skipper Darijo Srna to deliver goods. Nikica Jelavic (Everton) and Ivica Olic (Bayern) from forward lines could pull off surprises any time on the forward lines. After a long time, really a promising croatia team to watch out for.
Wolfsburg have netted Bas Dost! Add to the Ivica Olic's swoop, and I think Felix Magath means business!
ivica olic? Thinks he's left Bayern Munich but not sure if he's pre-signed with someone else.

I don't think Bayern Munich will make 27 mil pounds for Edin Dzeko, as they already have Claudio Pizarro back as replacement of Ivica Olic
Not really sure why they are making that move. Probably gonna be a backup cause Ivica Olic is gone.

The European Cup is heading to Stamford Bridge for the first time in Chelsea’s 107-year history after the Blues beat Bayern Munich 4-3 on penalties to win the 2012 Champions League final. After 120 energy-sapping minutes ended with the scores level at 1-1, it came down to which side could hold their nerve from 12 yards. Juan Mata was first to see his tame kick saved by Manuel Neuer, but Petr Cech responded by denying Ivica Olic. Bastian Schweinsteiger then saw his effort touched onto a post by Cech, allowing Didier Drogba to net the most important penalty in Chelsea’s history. The Blues erased the agony of John Terry’s heartbreaking penalty miss four years ago in Moscow, and simultaneously snatched England’s final qualifying spot for next year’s competition from Tottenham, as Roberto Di Matteo completed a remarkable turnaround in the club’s fortunes since his arrival at the start of March. Didier Drogba’s 88th-minute equaliser saw Chelsea deny Bayern in front of their own supporters, after T ...
Petr Cech does his homework and Chelsea earn final dividends • Goalkeeper had studied Bayern Munich penalty-takers in detail • Didier Drogba demanded to take decisive spot-kick Petr Cech, the Chelsea goalkeeper, saves from Bayern Munich's Ivica Olic in the penalty shootout at the end of the Champions League final. Photograph: Christof Koepsel/Bongarts/Getty Images Daniel Taylor at Allianz Arena The Guardian, Sun 20 May 2012 23.01 BST There are times, as Didier Drogba said, when there are barely enough words to do justice to the ecstasies and agonies that sport can conjure up. Roman Abramovich tried to find a few in the dressing room but only briefly. Then a Russian billionaire, operating from a level of financial power and status that means bodyguards are never far away, stopped talking and something extraordinary happened. He started wiping away tears of elation. The players in that dressing room had flirted so dangerously with the idea of defeat it seemed barely plausible the Champions League trophy ...

Chelsea have made history by becoming the champions of Europe after an enthralling match against Bayern Munich ended with the Blues winning a penalty shoot-out 4-3 after the game had ended 1-1, and Roberto Di Matteo was understandably struggling to take in what he had witnessed. The game appeared to be beyond us when Tomas Muller headed the German side in front with only eight minutes left to play, but our strength of character rose to the fore once again when Didier Drogba - the eventual matchwinner - headed home a Juan Mata corner in the 89th minute. Bayern had a fantastic opportunity to restore their lead early in extra-time when they were awarded a penalty, but Petr Cech saved from his former Chelsea teammate Arjen Robben. The Blues trailed for much of the shoot-out after Mata had missed our first kick, but the tide turned when Ivica Olic saw his kick saved by Cech. When Bastian Schweinsteiger then hit the post, it fell to Drogba to seal our fate, which he did in style to spark jubilant scenes among b ...
Bayern Munich, Ivica Olic and Bastian Schweinsteiger lost 4-3 to Chelsea after penalties missed.
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has confirmed Roberto Di Matteo will have to be given 'serious consideration' for the manager's job.
'I should have taken a shot in that chance', says Ivica Olic. 'I thought Gomez is in front of the goal, but there was just Van Buyten'.
bAYern-chelseA ooops sory! european champion sory chelseA fans. .I mistaked That. THEY ARE NOW THE BEST IN EUROPE BECAUSE THEY BEAT ALL THE BEST- the Report chelsea beat bayern on @ their homeground 4-3 on penalties after playing 1 all draw. Bayern had much the better of the game, missed numerous chances in the first-half and were made to wait until the 83rd minute for the opener when Thomas Muller appeared at the back post to head past Petr Cech. Despite a lack of ambition until then, Chelsea were not done and equalised in a thrilling finale when Didier Drogba headed home from the Blues' first corner of the game with two minutes left to go. Drogba almost turned from hero to villain as he tripped Franck Ribery in the box in the first period of extra-time but Cech saved Arjen Robben's penalty low down to his left. The rest of the game yielded no goals and it was left to penalties to decide the winner. It looked like Chelsea would lose the shootout as Juan Mata missed, but Ivica Olic - with his last kick ...

Di Matteo even declined to reveal what Abramovich said as the pair embraced at the top of a flight of steps moments before Chelsea received the giant trophy for the first time in their history. On an atmospheric night in a wonderful stadium nicknamed "The Inflatable Boat" because of its futuristic design, Chelsea occasionally threatened to go under but eventually arrived safely at Abramovich's chosen destination. And those who have been in pretty much from the start all made defining contributions to the greatest night Chelsea have ever had. The club that is incorrectly mocked for not having history - remember they won a European trophy before even Liverpool when they beat Real Madrid to claim the Cup Winners' Cup in 1971 - had written a thrilling new chapter in their story. Drogba, the leader and talisman, wrote his name in folklore with his deeds. Goalkeeper Petr Cech has suffered all the highs and lows of Chelsea's Champions League quest and in Munich he was immense, saving Arjen Robben's penalty at th ...
