Sanusi, his school mate at kings college and friend, Bukola Saraki and Lai Alabi allegedly fraudulently acquired Intercontinental Bank Plc
The only policy that Lamido Sanusi Implemented whie in the saddle as CBN Governor that didn't go down well with me was the controversial removal of Dr. Erastus Akingbola as the CEO of the defunct Intercontinental Bank leading to the questionable acquisition of the bank by Dr. Bukola Saraki, using the Yar'adua's clan and Mr. AIG Imaquode, CEO, Access Bank. Aside that, Sanusi was on point!
The Lugardian Amalgamation called... Nigeria is a place where anything is possible. You can do/say the right thing and be condemned/ sacked and another person, would do the opposite and be praised. Hypocrisy is the game and Nigerians are top players. Consider these two case studies: Sanusi ($20billion missing) Vs. Odimegwu (fraudulent census) The later is still fresh so I think you all know the full gist. As for the former,we all remember Festus Odimegwu. He was appointed the chairman of NPC and was charged to conduct a credible census in 2016 where real-time data of every Nigerian would be captured and displayed on demand. He set about this task by proposing Biometric Technology which would not only capture the real time data but also aid Nigeria’s Economic Transformation because it'll actually ascertain our real population figure. In the process, he discovered that the past census conducted were nothing but fraud. This he made known to Nigerians but instead of asking him to prove his allegations or la ...
Aside the many cases against Sanusi, we should ask what he did with the money paid by Cicilia Ibru and the sales deal on Intercontinental Bank.
I am a Lagos boy, educated in Lagos, and my children were all given birth to and groomed in Lagos. -Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. It is only when they are in trouble they remember their Yorubaness and Yoruba hospitality. This same Sanusi alleged Yoruba were the problem with Nigeria. He insulted Prof. Wole Soyinka in the presence of Femi Fani-Kayode and Akin Osuntokun and pointedly told him Nigeria belongs to the Gambari and there is nothing the Yoruba can do about it. His first job as the then CBN Governor was the removal of a Yoruba banker Mr Akingbola. Sanusi sold Mr Akingbola's Intercontinental Bank, a corporation of over 21 years standing, worth more than N10 trillion naira, to the Gambari at a ridiculous price of N10 billion naira. In like manner, Yoruba groomed Zik politically. Just under three years after Nigeria's independence from the British colonial thugs, Zik teamed up with Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa, and together they imprisoned Yoruba leader Chief Obafemi Awolowo for 10 years for doing nothing. ...

Erastus Akingbola should go back to court asking for intercontinental bank to be returned to fomer owner intact the sales of intercontinental to access bank Is nothing but ludicrous ,how can an unknown. Bank as at then, even owing intercontinental. Eventually become the owner of the bank they are owing money something is fishy
Adeyinka Grandson wrote and I concur Dele Momodu was today very absurd or incongruous to the point of provoking laughter when he said: "Sanusi is not going to be an easy meat to chew for Jonathan" Who is Sanusi to Awolowo or Abiola? Gambari chewed Awolowo and imprisoned him for 10 years. They chewed Abiola, imprisoned him for five years and murdered him thereafter. Sanusi will go to jail and nothing will happen. We were raised under the brutality of the Gambari. To make sure Gambari never dare the Yoruba again, this is not the time to act like slave. We must show leadership and Gambari must pay for all the past atrocities they have committed against the Yoruba race. Germany is still paying for the holocaust against the Jew. Gambari must pay for the assassination of Pa Rewane, Kudirat Abiola and attempted assassination on Pa Adesanya and the murder of Abiola and several Yoruba. Sanusi took over Intercontinental Bank from Akingbola and sold a bank worth more than N10 trillion for N10 billion to the Gambari. ...
THE REAL VESTED INTERESTS: Act1 scene1 September 29th,2010. Erastus Akingbola's Petition exposes Bukola Saraki, Lamido Sanusi... Erastus Akingbola, former MD/CEO Intercontinental Bank PLC wrote the AGF thus: The Honourable Attorney-General & Minister Of Justice Attorney-General’s Chambers Federal Ministry Of Justice, Abuja. Dear Sir: 1. About two and a half years ago, Dr. Bukola Saraki requested that we merge Societe Generale with Intercontinental Bank (IB) Plc. We conducted a due diligence exercise and noticed N30bn negative capital – so the board of IB Plc turned it down. Dr. Saraki was very unhappy. 2. When time came for the renewal of Gov. Soludo’s appointment as CBN Governor, Dr. Saraki blocked it with late President Yar’Adua and brought him Lamido Sanusi. Being my customer, Dr. Saraki confirmed this personally to me. 3. Lamido Sanusi was appointed CBN Gov. on 4th June, 2009, and on the 18th June, - after just two weeks in office – he sent CBN examiners to five banks including IB Plc. This ...
If it is proven that Sanusi and Saraki connived to commit the heinous crime of destroying and looting Intercontinental Bank just to feed their greed and settle petty scores, then I weep bitterly for Nigeria. GOD HELP US!!!
Even if we are not to gloat over the fall of a man, I just think some people are irrestibly rejoicing and/or Celebrating over Sanusi's current financial imbroglio, or do we say career cataclysm? People like: Sebastin Adigwe (Afribank), Okey Nwosu (Finbank), Erastus Akingbola (defunct Intercontinental Bank plc.), Mrs. Cecilia Ibru (defunct Oceanic Bank Plc) and Bath Ebong (Union Bank of Nigeria Plc.), or even RCCG G.O., who Sanusi stylishly accused of hindering justice against Erastus. Well, I'm just thinking allowed o, don't say i said anything o, but didn't they pop champagne on hearing of the suspension?

What really happened to Intercontinental Bank PLC . I used to be a die-hard supporter of SLS in his efforts to reform the Nigerian banking sector. That warm bubble of support for SLS in which i was immersed in was first bust by his sudden allegations of corruption in the NNPC just a few months before he was due to leave office after having spent over 4 years as CBN governor. I kept asking myself why now? It is not as if the man was ever afraid to speak his mind. This is a man who at the height of the debates on CBN autonomy confronted members of the NASS in their chambers and told them that they cannot shut him up. Now with the can of worms he opened, i feel so ashamed of having supported him in the past. Every action he took in the past as CBN governor is now viewed with suspicion. For example, what really happened to Intercontinental Bank PLC? Please don't pass this document up . it is actually an easy read

He urged the paper not to rest on its oars. Former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu also congratulated the management and staff of The Nation for winning the Newspaper of the Year and other categories at the 21st edition of the Nigeria Media Merit Awards (NMMA). Asides having a product to sell and recognizing the need for the product to be sold, maintaining business relationships is tantamount to business success. While it is paramount to build brands of great and irresistible quality, creating solid relationships with business counterparts and treating your customers’ right is the best way to get your product to them. A friend once told me that the reason he loved his bank, Intercontinental Bank (now defunct) was because they sent him birthday messages. While another colleague ditched one restaurant for another just because the servers in the previous restaurant rarely acknowledged him or smiled at him while taking his orders. The other restaurant though with a slightly lesser quality offered better customer relationship. Several of my colleagues have done that too. Every man, no matter how small, values his ego. Thus, treating a man’s ego right will spur him to spend more on your venture. Money as we all know is only a means to an end and not an e ...
!! Why is SANUSI still CBN GOVERNOR? !! Just finished my homework, and my result shows that 90% of Access bank customers were formally Intercontinental Bank customer AND 90% off Ecobank customers were formally Oceanic Bank customers. Secondly my findings shows that 50% of the building properties they inherited from former owners is in use, so any city you go to in Nigeria you must see an Access bank and Ecobank abandoned buildings. So my question is why did he sale these banks? Was it to make former workers unemployed and back to the street, or was it to attack the south banks and owners, or that was the best decision. Because if is consolidation and bankrupting, i still wonder why firstbank was not sold but were giving trillions to continue banking. So i conclude to ask who knows any Good sanusi has done as CBN governor to Nija Economy?

UNDERSTANDING THE MERCHANT BANK, ENGINEERS & PLANNERS SAGA. In August 2007, Ghana Commercial Banks (GCB) and Merchant Bank granted a loan facility of US$37, million to E&P. This facility had tenure of 60 months inclusive of a moratorium period of 6 months. Thus the span is therefore, August 2007 to June 2012 with a monthly repayment of principal plus interest worked out to US$ 750,000. Loan repayment commenced in February 2008 and payments were honoured, but in October 2008, for some unknown reasons the Board of Merchant Bank changed the 60 months tenure to 36 months tenure. This was unilaterally done without consulting the joint Finance Partner, GCB. The monthly repayment then changed from US$ 750,000 to US$ 2,250,000 per month. The reschedule repayment plan created serious cash flow burden as nothing was left after debt service to support operations and maintenance costs of the construction and equipment rental company which has employed a number of expatriates. At the time the facility was granted in A ...

OPINION: Of Erastus Akingbola, Enoch Adeboye and 8000 Instant Elders Posted: August 19, 2009 - 00:00 It is with a heavy heart I pen this piece, not with the intention to embark on a blithe smear campaign or spread unfounded rumours, but to tackle an issue that has been overlooked and under addressed… Nigerian news is agog this week with Sanusi’s bombshell sacking of five banking giants, Erastus Akingbola, the erstwhile CEO of Intercontinental Bank, inclusive. With a purported ‘lending’ of N250 billion to his associates flying in the face of professional ethos and ethics, allegations of siphoning significant amounts into personal coffers, gross mismanagement of loans, “poor corporate governance practices, lax administration processes and the absence or non-adherence to the banks' credit risk management practices”, it is certainly not the best of times for the smiling banker *** Redeemed Pastor. Just last week he was spotted with Cecilia Ibru at the Redeemed Camp, spouting tongues and binding en ...

It is so absurd and completely demeaning that the MD of GT Bank Plc (Segun Agbaje) would sack about 142 employees unfairly with Impunity. So shameful that Segun Agbaje who I believe is studied and should behave differently. These employees were sacked after the routine appraisal within the organisation without warnings or any disciplinary proceedings. The behaviour of these unscrupulous profiteers, self-serving arrogant individuals in Nigeria calls to question the relevance of our Executives, Senate, House of Representatives and civil societies in the country. The common news in our country is about Elections, NGF (Nigerian Governors Forum war), and Rotimi Amechi vs Goodluck Jonathan, while great leaders discuss the “Next Generation”. How can there be an enabling environment for Next Generation when there is no credible Employment Tribunal to guide against the malaise at work places in our country. I feel so pained for such a behaviour from Segun Agbaje who spent nearly 3 years before a Deputy Managin ...

Besides the N10.2 billion Adoke is seeking from Melaye for defamation, he has also asked for N200 million as the cost of litigation. The sham millionaires in pork barrel politics By Tony Mochama NAIROBI, KENYA: When I coined the term ‘M-Pigs’ a couple of years ago in another column, it was because I believed that Members of the 10th Parliament would sell their own mothers down Nairobi River, if you send them enough lucre through M-Pesa. That is how greedy these MPs are — and the definition of pig that best suits them is to be found in my Advanced Oxford dictionary: Pig (noun), a greedy, dirty, messy, bungling, obstinate, sulky, annoying person. This definition fits the 11th Parliament to a T, wouldn’t you agree? So greedy are they that these wannabe millionaires of Parliament (MP) are totally dissatisfied with the half a million take-home pay we taxpayers are giving them, that they want to double their pay pap, yet they are not willing to cross the road to the casino at the adjacent Intercontinental and play ‘double or nothing’ at the Black-Jack table. We have seen some MPs sulking about the same Kenyans who send you to Par ...

TWO JUDGES SUSPENDED OVER OYINLOLA, AKINGBOLA CASES The National Judicial Council has asked President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State to sack two judges - Justice Charles Archibong of the Federal High Court, Lagos, and Justice T. D. Naron of the High Court of Justice, Plateau State - respectively. The NJC said it had already suspended the two judges. The two judges had delivered controversial judgments that many described as embarrassing to the judiciary. While Naron drew the anger of the NJC over his handling of the governorship tussle between ex-Osun State governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and the incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Archibong's sin lied in his controversial ruling in the case involving a former Managing Director of Intercontinental Bank, Erastus Akingbola. CBN restricts lending relationships between banks, HoldCo FEBRUARY 12, 2013 BY ADEMOLA ALAWIYE LEAVE A COMMENT Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanusi In a bid to forestall another crisis in the banking sector, the Central Bank of Nigeria has placed restriction on lending relationships between Deposit Money Banks and their holding companies. The Governor, CBN, Mr. Lamido Sanusi, said at an investors’ conference organised by Renaissance Capital in Lagos on Monday that the control was to avoid the situation where the banks would be lending depositors money to their holding companies or subsidiaries. He said, “We have issued a circular that restrict banks to lend to their holding companies. If a bank lends to its holding company, the amount it lends will need to be returned; if not, it will be treated as erosion of capital. “We are not saying the banks are lending to their holding companies, but we have to learn from past mistakes. Bank robberies: OOU suffers one year after. Death of Access Female Banker of hypertension Trying To Meet Target . The death of this lady has exposed the sharp practices of Acess Bank Mgt.They feigned being strong by acquiring the old Intercontinental bank. Now, they're finding it hard to meet up with the capital base. Must they resort to encouraging prostitution in order to keep afloat? If they can't survive, why can't they simply merge with the bigger banks - GTB, Zenith and co?So, even the banking job now lacks rest of mind. Nonsense!
Akingbola of Intercontinental Bank recently delivered a Lecture on Investment and identified 5 key issues on the topic. 1. An employee can never be rich. 2. Plan yourself out of employment. Have a 5 year plan. 3. Have a dream and a plan for achieving that dream. 4. Promotion is a way of entrapping the best employee 5. Job security is bondage; no one can promise you a job security.
I will never use ATM again. Access Bank can win the worst bank in Nigeria. I don't even know how they were able to buy up Intercontinental bank.
Hope Eno Money And The Power To Make It Come To You I kept my emotion in check when I heard this story. This was because I wanted to feel for the victim and at the same time, I could not also say it ‘serves him right’, for what he became a victim of. It is not always about power or physical manifestation of strength; you never can tell who is stronger. It doesn’t show in our physical appearance, if it did, the strongest people would have lived a hundred years plus and the weakest people will probably live below 50 years. Opportunities come not by strength and power, but in desires and will to perform at all cost. This story is quite amazing. Coming back from work, this lady decided to hike a tricycle ride popularly called Keke Marwa. The driver, had covered some distance, with all passengers intact, including herself and one other lady with two other men, when all of a sudden, a bike appeared from nowhere, pulled the Keke driver out of his tricycle while the vehicle was on motion, (not even minding ...
