AJIT DOVAL an Indian National Security Advisor Tells how India destabilizing has become a special target of RAW’s secret battles. In this connection, fundamentalist Hindus give credit to Indira Gandhi who in the late 1970s gave RAW a new role to suit her Indira Doctrine specifically asking it to undertake covert operations in Pakistan. RAW mobilised all its resources by exploiting political turmoil in East Pakistan in 1971 which it had created through its agents. Nevertheless, its intrigues culminated in the dismemberment of Pakistan. At present, New Delhi has established more than 200 foreign offices and training camps in Afghanistan where RAW’s intelligence officials with the help of Khad and tactical support of CIA are doing their utmost to weaken Pakistan by sending weapons to the separatist elements in Balochistan and particularly to the insurgents of FATA regions. In Wakhan, a religious Madrassa of the Indian Muslim clerics is functioning under the patronage of RAW and Mossad. Very young boys in ...
Mujib's death, Indra Gandhi knew, signalled cool relations with the military men who would guide the destiny of Bangladesh. THEY DID NOT LIKE TO BE BEHOLDEN TO INDIA. Before Mujib's death, in 1974, the Chakmas established their first contact with Indian Intelligence in Dhaka and then across in nearby Agartala, capital of Tripura state. The Larmas sent word that they wanted to launch an uprising against the Bangladesh presence in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Could India help? The request went through the usual Intelligence Bureau (IB) channels before it landed in New Delhi at the Cabinet Secretariat, which supervises all intelligence and covert operations, and specifically at the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the external arm of Indian intelligence. It later went on to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). At the time, Indira Gand ...

The annual report of External Affairs ministry for 1974-1975 says, “The agreement with Sri Lanka on the division of the historic waters in the Palk Bay, which has also settled amicably (sic) the Kachchativu issue, is an indication of India’s earnestness in evolving a policy of friendship and mutual co-operation with her neighbours.” Atal Bihari Vajpayee, leader of the Jan Sangh, retorted, “This is not an agreement, this is surrender.” He asked his party colleague in Tamil Nadu, Jana Krishnamurthy, who subsequently became the BJP president, to challenge the secession in the Madras High Court. He promptly filed a petition which was admitted by Justice Ismail. During hearing, the judge asked the petitioner to produce documentary evidence to establish the ceded territory belonged to Tamil Nadu. All the official documents connected with Katchatheevu had been spirited away from Fort St. George in Chennai to New Delhi by the Indira Gandhi government.

Priyanka Gandhi visits Kashmir to pray at Kheerbhawni Temple :- Congress president Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi made an unscheduled visit to the Kashmir valley on Thursday to pray at a famous shrine and returned to New Delhi the same evening. Priyanka drove straight to the Mata Khirbhawani shrine in north Kashmir's Ganderbal district after arriving at Srinagar International Airport. The shrine is 24 km from Srinagar city. All traffic to and from Tullamulla town in district was stopped for her security during the visit. "She was on a private one-day visit to Kashmir which was kept under wraps for security reasons. Shri Rajiv Gandhi At 41, Rajiv Gandhi was the youngest Prime Minister of India, perhaps one of the youngest elected heads of Government in the world. His mother, Indira Gandhi, was eight years older when she first became Prime Minister in 1966. His illustrious grandfather, Jawaharlal Nehru, was 58 when he started long innings of 17 years as free India’s first Prime Minister. Besides being the harbinger of a generational change in the country, Mr. Gandhi received the biggest mandate in the nation’s history. In the elections to the Lok Sabha, which he ordered as soon as the mourning for his slain mother was over, his party, the Congress, got a much higher proportion of the popular vote than in the preceding seven general elections and captured a record 401 seats out of 508. Such an impressive start as the leader of 700 millions Indians would have been remarkable under any circumstance. What makes it even more so, indeed unique, is that Mr. Gandhi was a late and reluctant entrant into politics even thoug ...
India Sets New Record for Voter Turnout at Over 66% New Delhi,May 12:: It is official. India has set a new record for voter turnout at 66.38 per cent for the general elections 2014. It has bettered the previous high of 64.01 per cent registered in the 1984-85 election, when Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi rode a sympathy wave to come to power after the assassination of his mother, then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Announcing data after polling closed at 6 pm today in the ninth and last round of elections, the Election Commission confirmed that this year's turnout was indeed the highest ever. These are provisional figures and it might marginally increase the Commission said. The last day of polling in 41 constituencies in three states - Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal played to script. Only West Bengal, which had a huge 82 per cent turnout in 2009, saw a small dip at 81.77 per cent. In the first eight phases of the election, 66.2 percent of registered voters had exercised their right to vote, election c ...

Addressing a press conference after the Lok Sabha polls were over in the constituency, he asserted that Narendra Modi has been baptized, promoted, financed and publicized by the US agencies to create a communal disorder in India to destabilize the largest democracy of the world. “Since the western sponsored assassination of Indira Gandhi, the USA has been putting all its mechanism at work to destabilize India. It was Mohammad Yunus who carried the most when Sanjay died in the plane accident. In Yunus book, ‘Persons, Passions & Polities’ one discovers that baby Sanjay had been circumcised following Islamic custom, although the reason stated was phimosis. It was always believed that Sanjay used to blackmail Indira Gandhi and due to this she used to turn a blind eye when Sanjay Gandhi started to run the country as though if were his personal fiefdom. Was he black mailing her with the secret of who his real father was? When the news of Sanjay’s death reaches Indira Gandhi, the first thing she wanted to know was about the bunch of keys which Sanjay had with him. Nehru was no less a player in producing *** At least one case is very graphically described by M. O. Mathai in his “Reminiscences of the Nehru Age” page 206. Muthai writes: “In the antumn of 1948 ( India became free in 1947 and a great deal of work needed to be done) a young woman from Benares arrived in New Delhi as a sanyasin named Shradd ...
Modi and the Bomb “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), widely tipped to form the next government, pledged on Monday to revise the country's nuclear doctrine, whose central principle is that New Delhi would not be first to use atomic weapons in a conflict. Unveiling its election manifesto, the party gave no details, but sources involved in drafting the document said the "no-first-use" policy introduced after India conducted a series of nuclear tests in 1998 would be reconsidered.” (Reuters) Perhaps the single most urgent reason to prevent a Modi Sarkar from coming to power is that Modi will have his finger on the nuclear trigger ! The signs are ominous. The BJP Manifesto has promised to take a relook at India’s nuclear policy. While both Congress and BJP have encouraged India’s disastrous policy of increasing dependence on nuclear energy, where the two differ (at least slightly but perhaps significantly) is in regards to nuclear weapons. It is true that it was Indira Gandhi who shockingly began the w ...

Where was VM Sudheeran in 1984 when Congress leadership gave LEADERSHIP for Mass killings and RAPE in 5 North Indian states? 1984 Delhi Anti-Sikh Pogrom refers to a 4-day pogrom that took place in various parts of India’s capital, New Delhi, causing the death of nearly 3,000 Sikhs. It followed the assassination on October 31, 1984 of Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, by her two Sikh bodyguards, in revenge for Operation Blue Star. This event – probably the most deadly in the violent history of Delhi – remains highly controversial. Twenty-five years later, most of its instigators and perpetrators remain unpunished despite the claims of various survivors and human rights groups that the pogrom was orchestrated by officials of the Congress Party with the connivance of Delhi administration and police. Anti-Sikh violence was not restricted to Delhi but also took place in other Hindi-speaking heartland states like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. This case study nonetheless focuses o ...
Twenty-nine years ago in New Delhi, Kanpur and Bokaro, a murderous attack was launched against Indians of the Sikh faith by mobs organised and instigated by Congress politicians bent upon using the tragic assassination of Indira Gandhi as an occasion for political manipulation and gain. In the capital, the police stood mute witness to the killing of 2,733 Sikhs. That inaction and the failure to register cases or properly investigate those that were eventually filed are testimony to the official patronage the killings enjoyed. Rajiv Gandhi, who was Prime Minister at the time, made light of the pogrom, describing them as a reaction — “the earth always trembles when a big tree falls” — to the killing of his mother. Senior Congress leaders like H.K.L. Bhagat who were identified by survivors and eyewitnesses as instigators of the violence were rewarded with ministerial berths. A Commission of Inquiry headed by Justice Ranganath Mishra concluded, astonishingly, that the organised massacre was a spontane ...

War Memorial: No place to lay the wreath – S.K. Sinha “Over 80,000 Indian soldiers have died in various wars we have fought since Independence. There is no National War Memorial for them in New Delhi. The need for a National War Memorial for soldiers, sailors and airmen has been under examination for over half a century, but nothing has materialised so far thanks to bureaucratic hassles and political indecisiveness.” – Lt-Gen S. K. Sinha War memorial for the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) on the outskirts of Colombo. This Republic Day, I watched the Indian High Commissioner ceremonially lay a wreath at the impressive Indian Peace Keeping Force war memorial in Colombo. Sri Lankan Navy buglers suitably participated in the solemn function. The names of 1,000 Indian soldiers killed in Sri Lanka are inscribed in golden letters on black granite at the IPKF memorial. Please confirm that the information that I gave is right if not let me know Indira Gandhi the first woman Prime Minister of India was assassinated by two of her Sikh bodyguards on 31st October 1984, at her New Delhi residence. The two bodyguards Satwant Singh and Beant Singh killed her to take revenge of the military attack on the "The Golden Temple" (holiest shrine of Sikh) during Operation Blue Star. Beant Singh fired three rounds with his service gun and then Satwant Singh fired 30 rounds from his service sten gun. Immediately after the incident, Mrs Indira Gandhi was brought to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences at 9:30 AM. At 2.20 PM of the same day she was declared dead by the doctors. She was cremated on 3rd November at Shakti Sthal, near Raj Ghat, memorial of Mahatma Gandhi.
Ahmedabad/New Delhi: Congress Party vice-president Rahul Gandhi who has so far refrained from directly attacking Bharatiya Janata Party’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi took on the Gujarat Chief Minister on his home turf and said that the BJP was out to wipe out the poor and not poverty. Addressing a public rally in Bardoli in Gujarat, Gandhi accused Modi of fooling people. He said that while the people of Gujarat toiled for the state’s progress, Modi took away all the credit. Hitting out at the recent circular on the Gujarat government website that said only those with daily earning of less then Rs.10.80 would be eligible for a subsidized foodgrain scheme meant for the poor in rural areas, Gandhi said that while former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had said “garibi hatao” (remove poverty), BJP is saying “garib hatao” (remove the poor). Invoking Sardar Patel from Bardoli, a place from where he had led a farmers’ agitation against the colonial British, Gandhi said that some leaders ...
Like a typical Congresi, Sanjay Jha is the biggest liar and an SOB. Sanjay Jha lied when he said Rajiv Gandhi was in the street of Delhi to do what – direct violence? The truth was Rajiv Gandhi and his family were in a protective and secured place because they were afraid of backlash Hours following the assassination of Indira Gandhi in 1984 the cabinet ministers met including Rajiv Gandhi Arun Nehru among others. In that meeting no minister ever suggested to activate the security in the street of the Capital city, New Delhi. On the contrary one of the minister said “They have to pay the price let them catch fire” referring to the killing of Sikhs. Rajiv was in that same meeting and did not say anything. In this meeting there’re was no discussion about controlling riots. This genocide is even much worse to 2002 violence. In this Congress Central Committee were involved. MLAs are actively promoting violence.
Sonia Gandhi IS THE MODERN ROBERT CLIVE The bottom line observed in Sonia’s mindset is that she can disregard Indian laws with impunity. If cornered or if she becomes vulnerable to prosecution, she can always run back to Italy. In Peru, President Fujimori who all along claimed to be “born Peruvian”, when faced with a corruption charge fled to Japan with his loot and reclaimed his Japanese citizenship. That is Sonia’s bottom line fall-back option too. In 1977, when the Janata Party defeated the Congress at the polls, and formed the government, it widely known and published that Sonia with her two children abandoned Indira Gandhi, and ran to the Italian Embassy in New Delhi and hid there. Rajiv Gandhi was a government servant then[as an Indian Airlines pilot], but he too tagged along and hid in that foreign embassy ! Such was her baneful influence on him. Rajiv did snap out Sonia’s influence after 1989, but alas he was assassinated before he could rectify the situation. Those close to Rajiv knew t ...

graphy Rahul Gandhi Rahul Gandhi is the son of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Rahul and his younger sister, Priyanka have been in the public eye since the day they were born as at the time their grandmother Indira Gandhi was India's Prime Minister. Rahul studied in Modern School, New Delhi for a while and then went to St. Stephen's College (Delhi) where he did History Hons. After that he went to Harvard and then to London where he was a financial consultant. He returned to India in 1999 and was seen alongside his mother, Sonia Gandhi during the 1999 Lok Sabha campaign. 1966 anti-cow slaughter agitation was the agitation by Hindu organizations in 1966 to demand a ban on the slaughter of cows in India, as enshrined in the Directive Principles of State Policy in the Constitution of India. Among others, the Shankaracharya fasted for the cause. The agitation culminated in a massive demonstration outside Sansad Bhavan in New Delhi on 7 November 1966 (as per Hindu Panchang, Vikram Samvat, Kartik Shukla Ashtami, famously known as Gopashtami among Hindus). The Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi did not accept the demand for a ban on cow slaughtering. Instead police fired on the peaceful rally, killing many Sadhus in the firing. The Home minister, Gulzarilal Nanda, resigned, taking responsibility for the administration's failure to maintain law and order. The Shankracharya Niranjandev Tirth, Swami Karpatri and Mahatma Ramchandra Veer observing a fast for killing of sadhus. Mahatma Ramchandra Veer observing 166 days longtime fast at that time.
In 1972, Ms.Sonia Gandhi took employment as an insurance agent of Oriental Fire Insurance, a public sector firm. As a foreigner as she was then, she committed a criminal offence by taking such employment. Furthermore, she showed her business address as the official residence of the then Prime Minister and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, at 1, Safdarjung Road, New Delhi, which is an offence. Besides these, she collected commissions on insurance policy sold to Maruti and to individuals in the Prime Minister’s Office, which is also an offence. These facts came to light in a Rajya Sabha Question Hour in November 1974. The then Prime Minister Mrs.Indira Gandhi, and mother-in-law later announced in the House that Mrs.Sonia Gandhi had resigned her insurance agency, a clear admission of culpability under law. The three offences listed above are not subject to the statute of limitation, and thus the failure to prosecute Ms.Sonia Gandhi then, is no bar to launching prosecution now. B. January 6, 1989 Shaheedi of Bhai Satwant Singh Ji and Bhai Kehar Singh Ji. On this day, they were hanged inside Tihar Jail in New Delhi. In the Supreme Court, Bhai Satwant Singh made a statement. He said, "Let any part of my body, after my Shaheedi, be removed and used by anyone (Donated for transplants) who may need. However if you need my eyes, let the authorities first tell my parents." "I have no hatred for any Hindu, Muslim, Christian, neither hatred for any religion. After my Shaheedi, let no Sikh throw any rock at any Hindu. I am not in favour of any retaliation or bloodshed over my Shaheedi. If we do create bloodshed, then there is no difference between us and Rajiv Gandhi. I am Proud of the task that I did! I do ardas in front of Waheguru! If I am blessed with another human life, then give me a death of the Brave when I am hanged. Forget one life, if I could I would give up a thousand lives to kill dushts (enemies) like Indira Gandhi, and laugh as I become Shaheed by hanging…." His lawyer, Sard ...

Whenever I was duty staff officer at NHQ, spending the night at Dte of Naval Operations, some crisis or other would occur. The DNO staff though I was jinxed! On one ocassion, the Pamban bridge at Dhanuskodi got washed off in a storm. Another time our sailors got into a major fight with civilians at Vizag. Our PM Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri died at Tashkent when I was dutuy staff officer at night and I had to inform CNS and other PSOs. The strangest incident happened when PM Indira Gandhi sailed to Laccadives in INS Vikrant. A self styled Maharani of Nabha (who camped in New Delhi rail stn) sent the NHQ an ordinary telegram asking the Navy to arrest Indira Gandhi on board ship to make our pure white uniforms whiter! I was shocked and got in touch with the only senior officer who was available that evening, VCNS Admiral Krishnan. When I conveyed him the message over secure phone, he asked "Did the lMaharani give any instructions on what to do with the PM after arresting the lady!" I sent the telegram t ...
NRI doctor, friend 'ill-treated, assaulted' at Delhi airport, CA doctor Harmandeep Rai and his friend Rupinder (Ruby) Kaur have alleged that they were ill-treated and humiliated at the Delhi airport, with Rai claiming airport police beat him up with no reasonable cause. The police have denied his charges, and claim that their action was in response to him being drunk, abusive and aggressive. The incident happened September 29 when Rai and Kaur reached the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. Kaur was pulled aside for questioning over what the airport police described as her resemblance to someone mentioned in a lookout circular. Kaur said she was unlawfully interrogated, detained and mentally tortured by Indian immigration and police officers at the airport. “I was scared of these officers because there was no lady police or immigration officer in the room they detained me," alleged Kaur, adding that the officials asked her personal and embarrassing questions that had nothing to do with her ...
The visit of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to New Delhi on Friday has raised several speculations among the political circles, especially the Congress Party. While a few leaders believe that the Chief Minister would face action for his open opposition to the decision taken by Congress High Command on Telangana, others think that the Central leadership might avoid a direct confrontation with Kiran Kumar Reddy and make him abide by the decision. Speaking to media persons here, former minister JC Diwakar Reddy ruled out the possibility of replacement of the Chief Minister. He said that the party High Command would not resort to any drastic action at this stage. However, he said that the Congress High Command's mood would be known only after the meeting of the Coordination Committee meeting on Friday. Meanwhile, another minister TG Venkatesh said that the Congress High Command was angry with the desecration of statues of former Prime Ministers Pandit Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi in Seemandhra re ...

NEVER FORGET NOV 1984...SIKH GENOCIDE. 29 YEAR ON.THE SCARS STILL EXIST. THE PAIN IS STILL RAW. On the morning of October 31, 1984, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by two Sikhs of her security detail in her Home's garden in New Delhi. The assassination triggered organized violence against Sikhs across north India. In the words of Khushwant Singh, on the night of October 31, “Politicians belonging to the ruling Congress Party met to decide how to teach the Sikhs a lesson they would never forget.” Ram N. Kumar describes the nature of organization of these state sponsored pogroms against Sikhs: Early next morning, hordes of people from the suburbs of Delhi were transported to various localities in the city where the Sikh population was concentrated. The mobilization suggested backing of an organization with vast resources. The criminal hordes carried crude weapons…and combustible material, including kerosene, for arson. They were also supplied with lists of houses and business establishme ...

Dr Soraya Caro, the author has lived in India as the spouse of the Colombian ambassador Juan Alfredo Pinto for the last six years. She did a PhD on the same subject as the title of the book in the Indira Gandhi National Open University in which she is the first foreigner to get a doctorate. She, her husband and daughter Valentina ( she did six years of schooling in Sanskriti School in Delhi and speaks Hindi fluently) have developed an affection for India. Soraya says in the preface of the book," My life and the life of my family have been dramatically divided into two by destiny: before and after the period we lived in India". Soraya's book is therefore an expression of personal feelings and convictions besides being a sou ...
Interesting read from Saikat Dutt: India may not have had diplomatic ties with Israel but New Delhi quietly sought and got arms from Tel Aviv as it prepared to go to war with Pakistan in 1971, a book has revealed. The book, 1971, by scholar Srinath Raghavan offers fresh insights into the 14-day war that led to the creation of Bangladesh. Raghavan accessed the PN Haksar papers maintained at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library in New Delhi. These papers document startling aspects of a war that is probably India’s finest military moment but has not been documented adequately. A diplomat, Haksar was also an adviser to the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Raghavan’s research reveals that India’s ambassador to France DN Chatterjee began the process to get Israeli arms with a note to the External Affairs ministry on July 6, 1971, saying assistance from Israel for “propaganda, finance and even procurement of armament and oil” would be “invaluable”. Gandhi immediately accepted the proposal and th ...

Some of India's top athletes will greet the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton when it arrives tomorrow in New Delhi, the first international stop on a worldwide tour before it arrives back in Scotland. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has set-up a two special two man committee of G S Mander and S Raghunathan to help coordinate the first stop on international leg of the Baton's 288 day journey around the 70 countries that make up the Commonwealth following its launch by The Queen at Buckingham Palace in London yesterday. The event will be much more low-key than Scottish officials had originally planned because the Baton's arrival in Delhi, chosen as the host of the last Commonwealth Games in 2010, clashes with the Dussehra festival, a major event in the Hindu calendar. Instead the highlight will be a visit to Agra on Saturday (October 12) to be taken to the Taj Mahal, the most iconic symbol of India and which has previously hosted the Queen's Baton Relay for the 2006 Games in Melbourne and ...
Ms. Sonia Gandhi’s background as publicized by her and her Congress Party is based on three lies in order to hide the ugly reality of her life. First, her real name is Antonia not Sonia. This was revealed by the Italian Ambassador in New Delhi in a letter dated April 27, 1983 -her father, Stefano Maino had been a prisoner of war in Russia during WW- II. -Stefano had joined the Nazi army as a volunteer. -Sonia is a Russian not Italian name. Second, Sonia was not born in Orbassano but in Luciana as stated in her birth certificate. -She perhaps would like to hide the place of her birth because of her father’s connection with the Nazis and Mussolini’s Fascists, and her family’s continuing connections with the Nazi- Fascists underground that is still surviving in Italy since the end of the War. - Luciana is where Nazi-Fascist network is headquartered, and is on the Italian-Swiss border. There can be no other explanation for this otherwise meaningless lie. Third, Sonia Gandhi has not studied beyond High ...
Arunachal archers detained at airport for stapled Chinese visa New Delhi: The contentious issue of China issuing stapled visas to residents of Arunachal Pradesh surfaced once again, when two young women archers from the border state heading to Wuxi for Youth World Archery Championship, were prevented from boarding a China Southern Airlines flight at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport Thursday. Mihu Maselo and Yumi Sorang, who were the only two Arunachal archers in the 24-member squad, were given stapled Visas issued on a separate papers as the immigration officials prevented them from boarding the 11.10 pm flight to Guangzhou. Archery Association of India President V K Malhotra told PTI that the Chinese Airlines Authorities denied the two archers from boarding the flight, saying that they will not be allowed to enter China as they don't have affixed visa on their passport. "The Chinese embassy issued the stapled visa to the two Arunachal archers and they said there should not be any issue. Bu ...
RAW & MOSSAD THE SECRET LINK!!! Thirty-five years ago, in September 1968, when the Research and Analysis Wing was founded with Rameshwar Nath Kao at its helm, then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi asked him to cultivate Israel's Mossad. She believed relations between the two intelligence agencies was necessary to monitor developments that could threaten India and Israel. The efficient spymaster he was, Kao established a clandestine relationship with Mossad. In the 1950s, New Delhi had permitted Tel Aviv to establish a consulate in Mumbai. But full-fledged diplomatic relations with Israel were discouraged because India supported the Palestinian cause; having an Israeli embassy in New Delhi, various governments believed, would rupture its relations with the Arab world. This was where the RAW-Mossad liaison came in. Among the threats the two external intelligence agencies identified were the military relationship between Pakistan and China and North Korea, especially after then Pakistan foreign minister Zulfiqar ...
Picture of S K Iyer Mismanagement by team Manmohan stalls economy FOOD FOR THOUGHT It is the government alone who is responsible for the slide. MADHAV NALAPAT New Delhi | 29th Jun 2013 Now that the Indian rupee has crossed the 60-mark to the dollar and thereby become a "senior citizen", it is necessary to focus on just when and why the down slide in performance has taken place. From 2007 on wards, it has been clear that the Indian economy has been retreating towards the "Hindu rate of growth" of below 3% that was the hallmark of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi. By the time national elections fall due in mid-2014, an economy that was expected to break into the double digit league of China has instead become a byword for economic mismanagement. Although Team Manmohan blames the global economy, the United States, the weather and any factor other than themselves for the sharp deceleration in growth, it is they and they alone who are responsible for the slide. Not just by what they have done, but even more ...
Indira’s Muslim name was Maimuna Begum and later both had changed their name to fool the public of India on the advice of Ghandi by an affidavit in a court to Indira Gandhi and Feroz Gandhi. In 1980 her name appeared in the voter's list for New Delhi prior to her becoming an Indian Citizen. At the time she was still holding Italian Citizenship. A violation of Form 4 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. Gandhi's Emergency rule lasted 21 months, and its legacy remains intensely controversial. On 26 June 1975, the day after emergency was imposed, the Mumbai edition of The Times of India in its obituary column carried an entry that read "D.E.M O'Cracy beloved husband of T.Ruth, father of L.I.Bertie, brother of Faith, Hope and Justica expired on 26 June".. The Emergency was endorsed by Vinoba Bhave (who called it Anushasan parva or Time for discipline) and Mother Teresa. Pioneer industrialist J. R. D. Tata, writer Khushwant Singh and Gandhi's close friend & Orissa CM Nandini Satpathy were among the . ...
Shazia Ilmi This is a submission to our Hon'ble Lok Sabha members. Before you embark on this noble journey of empowering our tribe, see where you are going, and who you are going with. This is not an exclusive power trip to New Delhi, for your spouse, daughter, daughter-in-law, relative, protégé, or girlfriend. This is a journey embarked upon by more than half a billion Indian women striving for a destiny denied in their own lifetime, the defining journey of the "Aam Aurat". Obviously a revolution, if it happens, will happen through social intervention. State schemes like Gujarat's "Kanya Kelawni", Delhi's "Laadli", lower stamp duty for women besides others contribute to the much needed positive discrimination. Women's cooperative movements, Sewa, micro-finance projects have been tools of social transformation for women. Let the current debate be about the politics of reservation and not the reservation of politics for a privileged few. Even the most devout Congressmen would admit that Indira Gandhi's l ...

Ramlila Maidan also Ramlila Ground is a large ground located in front of the historic Red Fort, New Delhi, India, traditionally used for staging the annual Ramlila.[1] It is used for religious festivals, major political rallies and meetings, and entertainment events. It is located near New Delhi Railway Station and Delhi Gate. The Ramilila Maidan was originally a large pond before 1930. It was filled up in the early 1930s so that annual Ramlila could be shifted here from the flood plains behind Red Fort. It quickly became a popular site for political meetings, with Gandhiji, Nehru, Sardar Patel and other top nationalist leaders addressing rallies here. A small pond is still there inside the Ramlila ground as a remembrance of its history. Jayaprakash Narayan along with prominent Opposition leaders, addressed a mammoth rally with over a lakh people participating on June 25, 1975. This was the first protest in Ramlila Maidan, which was against Indira Gandhi's government. This was Jayaprakash Narayan last ral ...

Srinagar, Mar 10: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik Sunday warned that denial of political space to people of Kashmir, especially youth, can lead to eruption of “more ferocious armed rebellion” than the one witnessed early during 90’s. He said Kashmiri youth are being persecuted today more atrociously that what was done in 90’s. Malik was put under house arrest at his Maisuma residence, soon after he landed at the Srinagar Airport from New Delhi. The JKLF chief had gone to Pakistan on a private visit, where he landed in a major controversy after Jamaat-ud-Dawaa chief Hafiz Muhammad Sayeed shared dais with him during Malik’s hunger strike against secret execution of Muhammad Afzal Guru. Talking to Greater Kashmir at his Maisuma residence, Malik said a simmering discontent is brewing in Kashmir against the “worst ever atrocities” being committed by the forces on the youth. “People, especially youth, are being subjected to worst ever torture than we faced ...
P.V.Narasimha Rao'S FINAL HUMILIATION Appropriately for the capital of a country that has witnessed the death of hope so often, Delhi is a city of tombs. To the many built to encase the remains of numerous emperors of the Mughal era and their successors has been added those from post-1947: Mohandas Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Sanjay Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Charan Singh and Jagjivan Ram. Neither Mohandas Gandhi nor Sanjay Gandhi was ever the holder of any public office, although some may claim that the contribution to Indian history of the second son of Indira Priyadarshini may not entirely be on the same scale as that of the Mahatma. However, Sanjay too was granted the same privilege of a samadhi in New Delhi. Both Rajiv Gandhi and Charan Singh died while they were out of office, while Jagjivan Ram -- who never made it to the Prime Ministership -- was cremated outside of New Delhi, but had his ashes brought back and re-interred in New Delhi Four of the eight post-1947 tombs ...

The Truth Must Be Told… Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, has become object of derision for assorted Left leaning activists even before the embers of the Sabarmati Express had gone cold. It was not unexpected. The Left’s virulent campaign against Modi was meant to satiate the collective conscience of Nehruvian apologists who had felt slighted at being kicked out of power in New Delhi. For the first time, a BJP-led NDA had ousted the Congress. The Gujarat riots were the perfect alibi to conclusively establish the ‘communal’ credentials of the BJP, that had until now been only in the realm of the Congress Party’s imagination. The 2002 riots were called the worst in Independent India, in which thousands of Muslims were killed and no justice was possible as long as the cases remained in Gujarat. Truth has strange ways of emerging when you try to suppress it. None of the above assertions by well-meaning activists, who were coincidentally close to Congress, are true. Let us evaluate each o ...

The Ayatollah Khomeini ordered invading the United States Embassy in Tehran because it was a “nest of spies.” Indira Gandhi ordered the eviction of the aircraft the United States Air Force had assigned to the United States Defense Attaché Office in New Delhi because it was a “spy plane.” The United States government denied those claims, but I was Intelligence Assistant to the United States Defense Attaché in Afghanistan when my office in Kabul inherited that aircraft from New Delhi. I processed the aerial photographs the camera in its belly produced, and a United States Army unit at one end of the hall outside my office performed electronic surveillance, on targets ranging from India to Israel. And my photo lab shared plumbing with the CIA’s at the other end. www.hitrt.com

New Delhi: Even as the Delhi Police continue to interrogate Syed Zabiuddin alias Abu Jundal, arrested in connection with the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, it has come to light that the LeT terrorist had stayed at the Mumbai residence of a Maharashtra minister way back in 2009. When Jundal had stayed at her government accommodation in 2009, Minister of State for Education Fauzia Khan was then a Member of Legislative Council (MLC). Reacting to the allegation, Fauzia Khan said that many people stay at her government accommodation and it was not possible for her to be aware of the credentials of every one of them. She added that she would provide full cooperation to the investigating agencies. The revelation came on a day when the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is likely to take custody of and question Abu Jundal, who was arrested by Delhi Police from the Indira Gandhi International Airport here on June 21 on his arrival from Saudi Arabia. He was remanded to police custody for 15 days by a Delhi court on ...
Airport Metro link operator got ‘undue benefits’: CAG DAMEPL Denies Charges, Says Project Won Through Bidding TIMES NEWS NETWORK New Delhi: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has said that there were serious irregularities, flouting of government norms and undue financial benefits to the private player in the Delhi airport metro link. The country’s first Metro rail project under the publicprivate partnership (PPP) model — Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited (DAMEPL) — has been riddled with concessions to DAMEPL, the joint venture between Reliance Infrastructure and Construccionesy Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, SA (CAF) of Spain, CAG has said in a draft report. Financially, the two most serious charges raised in the CAG report pertain to alleged “undue benefits” on waived customs duty and investment of funds from an escrow account for the project to various Reliance ADAG group mutual funds without proper disclosure. The man who would rule India: ndian democracy must see off both Modi and Rahul. One is an aggressive authoritarian and the other reluctant to take responsibility A journalist who recently interviewed Narendra Modi reported their conversation as follows: “Gujarat, he told me, merely has a seafront. It has no raw materials — no iron ore for steel, no coal for power and no diamond mines. Yet it has made huge strides in these fields. Imagine, he added, if we had the natural resources of an Assam, a Jharkhand and a West Bengal: I would have changed the face of India.”(see The Telegraph, January 18, 2013). Tall claims This conversation (and that claim) underlines much of what Narendra Modi has sought to do these past five years — remake himself as a man who gets things done, a man who gets the economy moving. With Mr. Modi in power in New Delhi, says or suggests Mr. Modi, India will be placed smoothly on the 8 per cent to 10 per cent growth trajectory, bureaucrats will clear files overnight, there will ...

India Will Fight Sexual Violence After a horrific rape, Delhi has resolved to move beyond words to action. The people demand it. By NIRUPAMA RAO Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and India's political leadership, like all Indians, expressed distress and sadness over the brutal rape of a 23-year-old woman in December in New Delhi. But our leaders were more than emotional when the news broke. They were and remain determined to change our nation's laws—as well as the implementation of those laws—to prevent such heinous acts in the future. Media outlets have reported and re-reported the horrible facts of the events that led to the young woman's death. But they have underemphasized an important and incontrovertible fact: Mr. Singh has asked not only his national government in New Delhi, but also governments at all levels in India, to find solutions and implement them as soon as possible. "Government has decided to review the present laws and examine the levels of punishments in cases of aggravated sexual assau ...

Sack Sonia as Chairperson, NAC -- Swamy tells PM 29/01/2013 12:50:16 Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India, South Block, New Delhi. Dear Prime Minister: With this letter I enclose a news clipping from today’s Pioneer newspaper. ( ) From it, you can see two who are/or have been members of the National Advisory Council, had written to the Rashtrapatiji seeking clemency for the killer terrorist in the Mumbai 26/11 horror viz., Kasab, who had been sentenced to death by the Supreme Court as not only rarest of rare but also necessary for the “collective conscience” of the nation. Since the NAC is a Government body set up by the Cabinet Secretariat, and paid for from tax payers’ funds, it is imperative for you to take appropriate action for this anti-national support to a brazen terrorist from Pakistan who killed so many innocent Indians and tried to terrorize the nation. Since, that clemency plea was written with heir designation as NAC member, hence, the Chairperson of the NAC is equal ...

6 Things You Might Not Know About Gandhi On January 30, 1948, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who led the Indian Nationalist movement and became known around the world for his philosophy of nonviolent resistance, was assassinated at age 78. He was gunned down in New Delhi by a Hindu extremist five months after India gained its independence from British rule. Today, 65 years after his passing, check out some interesting facts about the man referred to as Mahatma (“great soul”) and the father of his country. Mohandas Gandhis 1. Gandhi was a teenage newlywed. At 13, Gandhi, whose father was the “diwan,” or Chief Minister, of a series of small princely states in western India, wed Kasturba Makanji (1869-1944), then also a teen and the daughter of a merchant. It was an arranged marriage, and Gandhi had been engaged to Kasturba since he was seven. The couple went on to have four sons. Even when Gandhi took a vow of celibacy in 1906 for reasons of spirituality, self-discipline and commitment to public servic ...

No deadline on Telangana, need more consultations: Azad ( Agencies) New Delhi: A decision on the contentious Telangana statehood demand will be delayed further with the Government and the Congress on Sunday stating that a "little more time" is needed to arrive at a final decision on the issue. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Congress incharge of Andhra Pradesh's political affairs, said that the UPA Government needs more time to decide on the issue of separate statehood. He further added that, "There is no deadline. We will hold consultations with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and others as early as possible." With the Congress once again looking indecisive on the Telangana issue, the long-drawn suspense of 'will be or will not be' continues. Sources say Congress is divided on the issue, Azad and few others feel that giving into Telangana would trigger similar demands elsewhere. Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, who had in December set a one-month deadline for a decision, said on Sunday that the consultation process is ...
I THNK AJE V SARIYA NU ISDA NAI PTA.. SARIYA NU TUHI SAMAJH GYE HOVOGE KINE NU.. For all of you who thought 12 o Clock is a joke for Sardar. I was standing at railway Station (New Delhi) when my attention went towards a Sikh youth standing near me wearing a Black turban having a long beard and wearing a kirpan over his shirt looking similar to a terrorist. After a while, one local train arrived, which was totally packed. The Sikh youth tried to alight the train but failed to do so. Just then a voice was heard from the back coach 'Sardarji Barah Baj gaye' (Sir it's 12 o'clock!) The Sikh youth looked over at that voice maker who was a young mischievous type of person and instead of showing any anger made a smile towards him. The smile made was so enigmatic that it seemed as if some type of truth lies behind it. Not able to resist my temptation, I walked towards him and asked why did he smile at that person who teased him. The Sikh youth replied, 'He was not teasing me but was asking for my Help'. I was surp ...

Shri Jyoti Basu and the Fate of West Bengal: Shri Jyoti Basu expired on 17th January 2010. I was interviewed over telephone by Bloomberg immediately for an assessment of Shri Basu. This is what I had to say: “Jyoti Basu was ambitious and progressive, and presided over political stability and the underdevelopment of West Bengal for almost quarter of a century,” said Omprakash Mishra, pro- Vice Chancellor of the New Delhi-based Indira Gandhi National Open University. “Industry, infrastructure, education and health care suffered during his tenure.” Later, I found my assessment was extensively quoted and used as a reference point.

CATTLE CLASS TRAVEL OF PEOPLE = Today I was watching a NDTV progamme on railway fare hike and subsequent some train journey in ordinary compartment from New Delhi to Howrah .It was just awfully pathetic scene we could not remove last 65 years and no one bother for the poor people who travels in GC .It was horrible travel of human going like cattle in a jam packed compartment even in toilet full of 7/8 people inside .It reminds me of similar kind of travel I also had some 25/30 years ago but I feel sad to see the same cattle class travel by human still going on whome we call am admi -whome we assure lots of goodies during election time .Taking the blame to all political parties for this misery of human I castigate more to INC for blame INC has become a liability to congregation of mostly dirty useless leaders and slowly becoming doubtful to people at the moment as no one bothers to connect people at the grass root level and all want to become MLA/MP with corruption ,mismanagement ,opportunists ruling t ...
We need to realize that we do not require any reservation for getting a Margaret Thatcher (called at her times an iron lady by none else than the British media, and politicians and other citizens alike), Hilary Clinton (when she could as late as in 2011/2012 make over 150 foreign tours a year, with success or possible success in diplomacy, that cannot be surpassed by any male), Indira Gandhi, Mayavati, Jayalalitha, et al (whether you like them or not, they could manage their male followers who are no lesser mortals in "horrible" politics with more "horrible" political and crime records or pyanchila track records in politics)! We also need to realize that in Copenhagen or in Singapore, a nude young women walking up a street may be looked at with voluptuous eyes by many but none would end up what went on at New Delhi last 16th December. Some horrible Indians say that those are smaller countries, but they are naradhams since even monkeys may realize that New Delhi is no large a place compared to rural Denmar ...
Dilip D'Souza on Tavleen Singh's Durbar in The Sunday Guardian Durbar by Tavleen Singh Hachette India, New Delhi, 2012. 312 pages - reviewed by Dilip D'Souza Dear Tavleen Singh, Full disclosure at the top: you were critical of my book "The Narmada Dammed" in a review several years ago. Let's say it, Ms Singh. You can write, when you want to, with insight and nuance. In this book that offers a ringside view of a turbulent, roller-coaster couple of Indian decades, your chapters on the Sikh insurgency of the 1980s and the slaughter of Sikhs in 1984, for example, are tight, gripping accounts. They are based on diligent and dogged reporting. The chicanery of Indira Gandhi, the brute her son Sanjay was, the political naivete of her other son Rajiv -- you paint these in firm, broad brushstrokes. Fine writing, yes. When you want to. These sections leave your reader wondering: if she can write like this, why the flabby handwaving in the rest of the book? The very first page of "Durbar" had me wrinkling a baffled b ...

AIAWU Calls for Agricultural Strike On Feb 20-21, 2013 Hannan Mollah The central executive committee of the All India Agricultural Workers Union met in New Delhi and took stock of the condition of the agricultural workers in the country. The committee noted that the government of India has gone ahead with its policies of pushing forward the interests of the foreign capital and Indian corporates, at the cost of the people. While they are going ahead with schemes to introduce foreign direct investment in retail trade, use EPF funds for private purpose, selling of public sector units to private parties, and taking over agricultural lands for property developers under the garb of public purpose, allowing private and corporate houses loot crores of rupees through several scams, they have failed primarily to check the price rise in food items which form the most important part of the expenditure of agriculture labour. Wages on the other hand, have failed to keep pace with the prices and employment has done no b ...
The War against Corruption The recent gathering at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, where a gentleman by the name of Anna Hazare, a person of impeccable personal integrity was fasting on the Gandhi an principles, had all the makings of a mass movement. It was a euphoric moment for the “aam-Aadmi”, when the government was brought on its knees. It was also an opportunity to the others who were making every attempt to seize on the moment to ride the band wagon in quest of their own personal glory. The government was careful in reading the mood of the people and was not willing to take any chances. It is good news that the demands were met, and it is the power of internet which has a lot to do with the way the things happened. If this would have been seventies, then the outcome might have been different. That time the leadership was in the hands of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, a person who had the reputation of not blinking, unless necessary. People’s expectations are scary. They may be quick in celebrating vict ...

(^_^)Gkj(^_^) HINDU OFFICERS TO RULE THE STATE; QAID Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani Saturday said that New Delhi has ‘sent a clan of Hindu officers to rule the state through bureaucracy and police.’ “Governor, DGP, 4 ADGPs, 6 IGPs, 5 DIGs, 4 Principal Secretaries, Chief Electoral Officer, 6 Commissioner Secretaries are Hindus,” while addressing a seminar on “World Human Rights Day and oppressed people of Kashmir” at his residence Hyderpora. Geelani sahib asked the civil society to work for the Kashmir cause and not leave everything to the leaders. “We have capable people in Kashmir who can work to address various dimensions of Kashmir issue. But they leave everything to Geelani. They should not blame the leaders but work at their own level. SONIA'S CONTEMPT FOR LAWS OF INDIA After Sonia married Rajiv, she and her Italian family aided by friend and Snam Progetti’s New Delhi resident Ottavio Quattrocchi, went about minting money with scant regard for Indian laws and treasures. Within a few years the Mainos rose from utter poverty to become billionaires [see Annexure-14]. There was no area that was left out for the rip-off. On November 19, 1974, as fresh entrant to Parliament, I had asked the then Prime Minister Ms. Indira Gandhi on the floor of the House if her daughter-in-law, Sonia Gandhi, was acting as an insurance agent of a public sector insurance company[Oriental Fire&Insurance], giving the Prime Minister’s official residence as her business address, and using undue influence to get insured the officers of the PMO, while remaining as an Italian citizen[thus violating FERA]. There was an uproar in Parliament, but Mrs. Indira Gandhi had no alternative but to cut her losses. She made a rare admission in a written reply a few days later ...

Sanjay was the son of another Moslem gentleman, Mohammad Yunus. Here, in passing, we might mention that the second son was originally named Sanjiv. It rhymed with Rajiv, the elder brother's name. It was changed to Sanjay when he was arrested by the British police in England and his passport impounded, for having stolen a car. Krishna Menon was then India's High Commissioner in London. He offered to issue another passport to the felon who changed his name to Sanjay. Incidentally, Sanjay's marriage with the Sikh girl Menaka (for Indira Gandhi found the name of Lord Indra's court dancer rather offensive!) took place quite surprisingly in Mohammad Yunus' house in New Delhi. And the marriage with Menaka who was a model (she had modelled for Bombay Dyeing wearing just a towel) was not so ordinary either. Sanjay was notorious in getting unwed young women pregnant. Menaka too was! rendered pregnant by Sanjay. It was then that her father, Colonel Anand, threatened Sanjay with dire consequences if he did not marry ...

Sonia Gandhi – A Grieving Widow : In 1984 the Gandhi family, and India, was shaken to its very core when Indira Gandhi was assassinated by two of her own bodyguards. Tensions had been escalating for some time between various Indian religious sects, including Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs. Earlier in the year, Sikh militants had stockpiled weapons in their sacred Golden Temple, assuming that the government would not dare to enter their holy sanctuary. Gandhi, however, sent troopsto storm the temple, which resulted in the deaths of many militants. In retaliation, Gandhi’s bodyguards, who were Sikhs, shot and killed the Prime Minister in her own home. Just hours after the shootings, Rajiv Gandhi was sworn in as his mother’s replacement. Sonia Gandhi, resigned to the fact that her husband must lead his country, became his vigilant supporter and submerged herself in the role of a Prime Minister’s wife. She became an art historian and worked with a team at the National Gallery in New Delhi to restore India ...

During the 1971 war, while all Indians stood ready to fight for the Indian cause Sonia Maino and her husband Rajiv Gandhi went on vacation in Italy. In 1977, when Indira Gandhi and Congress lost elections, Sonia Gandhi with her children and husband in tow took refuge of Italian Embassy in New Delhi. Only after Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi's Indian wife Maneka convinced her that they came back. Sonia married Rajiv in 1968 and was eligible to become Indian citizen 5 years later yet she did NOT become Indian citizen till 1984 I.e. 16 years after her marriage) This late bloom of Sonia's love for India also was out of political consideration. In 1984, Rajiv, was heir apparent and most likely next Prime Minister. It would be awkward for a PM to have a foreigner wife. Voila, Sonia became an Indian Overnight.

Impact Of Power Crisis held on 30th & 31st July On 30 July, more than 300 million people were without power, nearly 30% of India's population. Railways and some airports were shut down until 8:00 am; New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport was able to remain open, however, as it switched to back-up power. The outage caused "chaos" for Monday morning rush hour, as passenger trains were shut down and traffic signals were non-operational. Trains stalled for three to five hours. Several hospitals reported interruptions in health services, while others relied on back-up generators. Water treatment plants were shut down for several hours, and millions were unable to draw water from wells powered by electric pumps The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India stated that the blackout had "severely impacted" businesses, leaving many unable to operate. Oil refineries were able to continue operating, however, as they maintained independent power supplies. It took 15 hours to restore 80% of servi ...
One Of The Many Such Nuggets That Our Country Is Unaware Of.An acknowledgement by Bangla Desh. Unarmed major who disarmed Pak soldiers and saved a future PM New Delhi, June 27: The cold steel of a rifle barrel poked Major Ashok Tara in the chest. The finger on the trigger was trembling, as was the scared Pakistani soldier who was pointing the gun. Barely out of his teens, the fresh-faced youth, Tara noted, was wide-eyed and his lips were quivering. One false move and the nervous boy could squeeze the trigger by mistake. At such close range, the bullet would go through his body taking half the chest with it. It was a precious chest having braved two wars. It endures. Even today, India is riding the goodwill that it commands. On Monday this week, Dhaka announced that it was conferring the “Friend of Bangladesh” Award to Ashok Kumar Tara who retired as a colonel in 1994. Indira Gandhi, India’s Prime Minister in 1971, was conferred the award in her time. This morning, Tara told The Telegraph during a ch ...

Please read and Share. To Dr. Manmohan Singh Hon’ble Prime Minister of India New Delhi South Block, Raisina Hill, New Delhi – 110 101. Subject : Stand up for the Rights of Mother Earth Dear Sir, India today may be revelling in its nearly double digit growth but it is forgetting its ancient legacy of reverence for Mother Earth and the need to protect nature for future generations. On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of India’s National Poet, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, let us also be reminded of his innate wisdom and warning that “the greed of gain has no time or limit to its capaciousness. Its one object is to produce and consume. It has pity neither for beautiful nature nor for living human beings. It is ruthlessly ready without a moment’s hesitation to crush beauty and life out of them, molding them into money.” On World Environment Day in 1972, the United Nations Conference on Human Environment began in Stockholm. Smt. Indira Gandhi, our then Prime Minister, was the only Head of ...
It is amazing info about Indira Gandhi. Eva Acharyya TO MY FELLOW INDIANS. Indira Priyadarshini perpetuated immorality in the Nehru dynasty. Intellectual Indira was admitted in Oxford University but driven out from there for non-performance. She was then admitted to Shantiniketan University but, Guru Dev Rabindranath Tagore chased her out for bad conduct. After driven out of Shantiniketan, Indira became lonely as father was busy with politics and mother was dieing of tuberculosis in Switzerland. Playing with her loneliness, Feroze Khan, son of a grocer named Nawab Khan who supplied wines etc to Motilal Nehru’s household in Allahabad, was able to draw close to her. The then Governor of Maharashtra, Dr. Shriprakash warned Nehru, that Indira was having an illicit relation with Feroze Khan. Feroze Khan was then in England and he was quite sympathetic to Indira. Soon enough she changed her religion, became a Muslim woman and married Feroze Khan in a London mosque. Indira Priyadarshini Nehru changed her name ...
New Delhi: With Dimple Yadav elected to the Lok Sabha, the issue of dynastic politics has again come to the fore. Dimple, wife of UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, will be the sixth member from the family of Samajwadi party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav in politics and holding elective posts. While Mulayam is himself a Lok Sabha member, his nephew Dharmendra Yadav is also a member of that House while his cousin Ram Gopal Yadav is in the Rajya Sabha and younger brother Shivpal Yadav is a senior minister in Uttar Pradesh. But the fact is that sons and daughters and daughters-in-law are no longer an issue in Indian politics. Congress president Sonia Gandhi, the most powerful leader in the country, is the daughter-in-law of Indira Gandhi. Similar is the case with Maneka Gandhi, former Union Minister and BJP MP who is the second daughter-in-law of the late Prime Minister but is in the rival camp. There are two other Gandhis in the Lok Sabha -- Rahul and Varun. "Why you are pointing fingers towards us and not oth ...
'Indira Gandhi politicised promotions in army': Army chief Gen V K Singh inaugurated a book Assault on Merit by Advocate R K Anand at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi on Friday evening. The book talks about how the defence services are suffering because of politicisation of transfers and how officers with merits are bypassed by bureaucracy. Strategic analyst Maruf Raza says, "The book highlights the plight of many officers who have made it to the top in spite of their questionable credentials. Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi politicised postings and promotions of armed officers.' Anand, the author, told rediff.com that he has fought scores of cases of armed officers. "I have fought many against them too," he said. Former Union Minister and a friend of former PM Rajiv Gandhi Arun Singh in a letter to Inderjit Badhwar, the editor of the book, had lambasted babus for not doing justice to the armed forces. "Our politicians are not interested in helping clean the system," he had said in the letter read out by Ba ...

History of Indra Gandhi Indira finally settled for one Feroze, someone who was docile and would interfere with her desire for other men. Some say she was pregnant when she wanted to marry a young man Feroze. Due to caste issues, she ran into problems. Mohandas adopted Feroze so that he could have the last name Gandhi. This made it appear that she was marrying a person with the last name Gandhi. This is a very strange episode because Indira already had a famous last name “Nehru”. The Gandhi nomenclature had more to do with religion than anything else. Her belligerence with world leaders is well known. She constantly tangled with Henry Kissinger and they were not even on speaking terms. While in power Indira Gandhi liaisons were pretty much an open secret to those who had access to the corridors of power in New Delhi.
Very insightful article. Thanks Pankaj for sharing. I am sharing with my friends. Most of the facts are already in the public domain, including hate & abuse of Nixon for India & Indira Gandhi. We are extremely thankful to Russians for their support. Several times they have used their VETO to rescue our country from embarrassing & compelling situations situations. However, all Americans are not Nixon or Kissinger. The diplomacy lessons teach us that there are no permanent friends or enemies in diplomacy & politics. World affairs are not run on emotions. National interest is supreme always & every time, while siding with this or that country.
