If Congress need to regain its lost glory to defeat Shri.Modithen Congress must leave inefficient Mr.Rahul Gandhi, Mrs.Priyanka Gandhi and concentrate on Congress Development Model and end up Dynastic rule politics and Anti-Hindu Bashing. Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia is best person to choose for Congress General Secretary and INC-UPA Prime Minister Candidate as well as INC Prime Minister Candidate for 2019 Lok Sabha Election replacing Mr. Rahul Gandhi. Jyotiraditya Scindiais best bet against Narendra Modiin matter of Development Politics. Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi (19 November 1917 – 31 October 1984) was the third Prime Minister of India and a central figure of the Indian National Congress party. Gandhi, who served from 1966 to 1977 and then again from 1980 until her assassination in 1984, is the second-longest-serving Prime Minister of India and the only woman to hold the office. Indira Gandhi was the only child of Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. She served as the Chief of Staff of her father's highly centralised administration between 1947 and 1964 and came to wield considerable unofficial influence in government. Elected Congress President in 1959, she was offered the premiership in succession to her father. Gandhi refused and instead chose to become a cabinet minister in the government. She finally consented to become Prime Minister in succession to Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1966. As Prime Minister, Gandhi became known for her political ruthlessness and unprecedented centralisation of power. She wen ...

1964 - A pygmy elected Indias PM: After the passing away of the erudite & scholarly colossus Nehru a virtually unknown and unheralded pygmy politician Lal Bahadur Shastri was appointed PM by the then uneducated and rustic but benign Congress President K.Kamaraj. Lal Bahadur however turned out to be a giant and a hero after signing of the momentous Tashkent Agreement with Pakistan, under the superintendence of Russian Prime Minister. His sudden death (due to suspected food poisoning at Tashkent) was unfortunate and untimely but paved the way for the long reign of several decades of Indira Gandhi and family.
66 years of Independent India - Jawaharlal Nehru held the chair of PM for 18 years, next comes Indira Gandhi to hold it for 15 years, followed by Manmohan Singh for 10 years, Atal Bihari Vajpayee for 6 years, Rajiv Gandhi and PV Narsimharao 5 years each, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Morarji Desai for 2 years each, Charan Singh, Vishwanath Pratap Singh, Chandra Shekhar, H.D. Deve Gowda and Inder Kumar Gujral for 1 year each and Gulzari Lal Nanda for a few days during interim period... over all 38 years of power concentrated directly by one family... 10 years through a dumb and deaf puppet... 8 years indirectly... which makes it a total of 56 years... whoaa!

From Jawaharlal Nehru to Manmohan Singh, here is the list of Indian Prime Ministers from 1947. Jawaharlal Nehru (1947-1964) Nehru is the first Prime Minister of Independent India. He also holds the record for continuously being in the office for the longest period (Aug 15, 1947 to May 27, 1964) about 17 years. Gulzari Lal Nanda A (1964-1964) Gandhian to the core, was interim Prime Minister on two occasions after the sudden demise of Pt. Nehru (from may 27, 1964 to June 9, 1964), for 14 days, and again after the sudden demise of Lal Bahadur Shastri (from January 11 to 24, 1966), again for a period of 14 days. Lal Bahadur Shastri (1965-1966) Though he came to power under the shadow cast of the ever-famous Pt. Nehru, he quickly won the hearts of all Indians, especially after routing Pakistan in the 1965 war. Indian still reverbrates with his slogan 'Jai Jawan ! Jai Kisan !'. He held office for 582 days, from June 9, 1964 to January 11, 1966. Indira Gandhi (1966-1984) The Iron lady of India held office from J ...

Pictures of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, party president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi were placed together at the Talkatora Stadium with those of former Prime Ministers P.V. Narasimha Rao, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi. Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have accused the Congress of not adequately highlighting the contributions of its leaders outside the Nehru-Gandhi family. There has also been an attempt by the BJP to appropriate the legacy of Patel who hailed from Gujarat. Chief Minister Narendra Modi has initiated a project to construct the world's tallest statue of Patel in the state.
In this post, I propose to deal with the General Election 2014 with full details. Before we take up the current situation, I would like to bring out the change in political systems after 1975. Till 1975, after the independence (1947), India did not suffer anything due to political instability. Indian National Congress was the only party ruling India with absolute majority. From 1947 till 1975 (28 years), India had only three Prime Ministers viz. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Indira Gandhi. After the post emergency era of 1975, Congress startded losing its hold on the country fully. The emergence of Regional parties and the National party like Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), changed the political situation in India, leading to emergence of coalition Governments. Post 'Emergency' era witnessed lot of political instability in India, with 8 Prime Ministers holding Office till date after 1977. Since not much of the records of the darker days are available, the present generation has been s ...
Nehru proved a rich can become the PM. Lal Bahadur Shastri proved a poor can become PM. Indira Gandhi proved a lady can become PM. Rajiv Gandhi proved a young can become PM. Atal-ji proved a real patriot can become PM. Manmohan Singh proved that India can go ahead without PM
Why this historic loss to congress? The congress politics has revolved around gandhi family ever since the death of Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1966. Indira Gandhi took over the reins and she never allowed leaders with views divergent to her in the party. She also sidelined strong leaders like jay prakash narayan. This led to emergence of sycophants (eg Digvijay Singh), and lack of strong leaders (even till date). The people of India had never tasted growth and she remained in power with populist policies and appealing slogans like "Garibi Hatao" (with no intention to actually do it). During 1991-96, there was no gandhi around, and the party (under Narsimha Rao) for the first time took measures for serious long term development. Atal Bihari Vajpayee government accelerated these development initiatives. People of India experienced improvement in their lifestyles and got more ambitious. Now again the dynastic rule came back and again focussed on Indira gandhi style populist policies to milk power. But by now peo ...

Cud MMS be the next recipient thru a self recommendation? Notable achievements.. CWG, 2G, Coal G, Sonia G, Rahul G etc etc. = My RTI query to President secretariat → How and why Indira Gandhi who was PM in 1971 got Bharat Ratna in 1971 ? Posted: November 24, 2013 | Author: nationalizer | Filed under: Politics, RTI |92 Comments » It all started with a curiosity. I was just going through the list of Bharat Ratna awardees where I saw three of the six Nehru-Gandhi family members are in it. Nehru got it in 1955, Indira got it in 1971 and Rajiv got it in 1991. In Home ministry site there is a note which says Bharat Ratna is awarded in recognition of exceptional service/performance of the highest order in any field of human endeavour. The recommendations for Bharat Ratna are made by the Prime Minister himself to the President. Then I checked who the Prime Ministers were in 1955, 1971 and 1991. PMO website claims that Jawaharlal Nehru was the Prime Minister in 1955, Indira was in 1971. That naturally leads t . ...
K.KAMRAJ Toward the end of Nehru's life, K. Kamaraj became the president of the All India Congress Committee and proposed the Kamaraj Plan. According to the plan six Congress Chief Ministers and six senior Cabinet ministers resigned to take up party work. After Nehru's death, Kamaraj was instrumental in bringing Lal Bahadur Shastri to power in 1964. He was part of a group of leaders in the Congress called "the syndicate". After Shastri's death, the syndicate favoured Nehru's daughter Indira Gandhi over Morarji Desai and she became the Prime Minister of India in 1967. For his role in the two successions, Kamaraj was widely credited as the "kingmaker" in Indian politics. Kamaraj stepped down as AICC president in 1967.
I admire only three PM of past. Lal Bahadur shastri je, Atal je nd Indira Gandhi. They were milestone.

India has produced only two combat leaders: Lal Bahadur Shastri and Indira Gandhi.
Why I support Modi (Despite the opposition) By Sunil Rajguru I receive a lot of flak for my perceived pro-Narendra Modi writings. Some even comment why I love the Gujarat Chief Minister so much. Well the first reason is really simple. I admire Lal Bahadur Shastri and his “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” focus was simply brilliant. I admire Indira Gandhi because she was a woman as tough as steel in the dirty and difficult world of politics. I admire PV Narasimha Rao for the liberalization of 1991-92, which to me is the single most important decision of post-Independent India. I admire AB Vajpayee for giving us the first-ever completed term from a non-Congress government and our first whiff of a two-party system. I want a PM I can admire and after the above leaders, Modi fits the bill. Secondly, it may be noted that both the Janata Party and Janata Dal went kaput. The UPA-NDA dispensation is the closest we’ve ever had to a healthy two-party (or rather two-alliance) system. From now on, I want a PM to be only fro ...
Subject: A nice article by Gurumurthy Success sans Ethics - by S.Gurumurthy The flight from Delhi to Chennai was about to take off. After a central minister, on the other side of the aisle, and I had just wished each other, he suddenly pointed to the passenger in the window seat next to mine and asked whether I knew him. He introduced him to me, went into reading his book. The gentleman was a Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer, known for high integrity. As we began discussing, we could recollect having met long back. Our talk inevitably ended on how the main state actors — politicians and civil servants — had steeply declined in morals. Finally, I asked him a straight question: “Can you point at when exactly did the decline start?” He was equally straight. Political morality, he said, crashed with the “advent” of Indira Gandhi, and business, he added, became buccaneering with the “rise” of Dhirubhai Ambani. That was exactly my view too. A simple comparison of the standards of political morality ...

P.V.Narasimha Rao'S FINAL HUMILIATION Appropriately for the capital of a country that has witnessed the death of hope so often, Delhi is a city of tombs. To the many built to encase the remains of numerous emperors of the Mughal era and their successors has been added those from post-1947: Mohandas Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Sanjay Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Charan Singh and Jagjivan Ram. Neither Mohandas Gandhi nor Sanjay Gandhi was ever the holder of any public office, although some may claim that the contribution to Indian history of the second son of Indira Priyadarshini may not entirely be on the same scale as that of the Mahatma. However, Sanjay too was granted the same privilege of a samadhi in New Delhi. Both Rajiv Gandhi and Charan Singh died while they were out of office, while Jagjivan Ram -- who never made it to the Prime Ministership -- was cremated outside of New Delhi, but had his ashes brought back and re-interred in New Delhi Four of the eight post-1947 tombs ...
KGB have murdered Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Sastri, in Tashkent, by poisoning so that Nehru family can come back to power. Following the India-Pakistan War of 1965, Shastri met in Tashkent with President Ayub Khan of Pakistan and signed a “no-war” declaration. He died the next day Jan 11, 1966. The story put out by KGB that a Muslim cook with Lal Bahadur Sastri's entourage had poisoned him in Tashkent and escaped to Pakistan may be a cover-up for what KGB had done. Sonia Gandhi was groomed and presented in front of Rajiv Gandhi by KGB, to hook Rajiv which was successful. Subsequently Rajiv marries Sonia. KGB involved in the plane accident of Sanjiv Gandhi and might be pure murder to eliminate Sanjiv and to bring in Rajiv as the successor to Indira Gandhi. This paved the way for Rajiv Gandhi to become PM, who is married to KGB agent Sonia.
How can planetary positions and energies affect our lives? There is an amazing synchronization in this universe. Everything is perfectly timed, but due to our karmic amnesia, our conscious minds are not aware of it. For instance, the death of Andra Pradesh Chief Minister YSR Reddy comes during a time when inimical planets Sun and Saturn are at loggerheads. This period has claimed several luminaries in the past, like India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in May, 1964 and Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri in October, 1984 and January, 1966 respectively. While God has given us the power to improve upon our destiny, it's the master plan that inspires life events. It is possible to change the course of destiny, but only through our karmas. Astrology is based on the principle of karma. Probably that is why the path of good karma is more difficult to follow!
Those are Indian leaders according to WILSON CRASTA.. Namely: Rajeev Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Pandit Nehru, Lokmanya Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan, Netaji Subhaschandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Indira Gandhi... "Whose in favor that there are only 9 faces in the Tree?"

Dear all, In India it becoming customary or a fashion for the Congress Party to demean Hindus or call them terrorists or what not. This Congress of today is forgetting that Sonia ji is a Christian, Manmohan Singh ji is a Sikh and many Christians are holding key positions in the government. In Europe and America it is not possible. What happens in the future in America and Europe, I do not know. The Chairman of both Republican Party and Democratic Party are always Christian. Now compare it with India. India has a true secular democracy. And in the Muslim world it is unthinkable to a key position or be a PM or Muslim Party Leadeship. Therefore, demeaning Hindus on the part of Congress is dangerous and this is unworthy in a country which has the largest democracy in the world-over one billion people. Congress Party must not indulge in cheap politics. Hindus like Gandhi ji, Nehru ji, Lal Bahadur Shastri ji, Indira Gandhi ji, Sardar Patel and many others made Congress a great national party. It does n ...
1966: India - Indira Gandhi was elected the 1st female Prime Minister following the death of PM Lal Bahadur Shastri.
About the Sabha Much before independence i.e., as earlier as 1918, Mahatma Gandhiji the father of the nation, visualized the need of a link language between the northern and southern states of the country in the interest of unity and integrity of the nation. He thought Hindi spoken by the biggest section of the people could be the link language. He founded Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha in Madras with the noble purpose of propagating Hindi in the southern states of the country in the year 1918. He was the life time president of this Institution, "DAKSHIN BHARAT HINDI PRACHAR SABHA". Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Sri. Lal Bahadur Shastri, Smt. Indira Gandhi, Sri Rajiv Gandhi and Shri. P.V. Narasingh Rao, Shri. Vektaraman and Justice Rang Nath Mishra , Shri. M.V. Rajshekaran were the past presidents. At present Justice Dr. V.S. Malimath is the President. Hindi Language became the Official language from the date of commencement of the Constitution of India. Propagation of Hindi in the Southern States was a di ...
THE POONCH INCIDENT Why is a military problem being dealt with by politicians, diplomats and arm chair ‘security experts’ who cannot distinguish between a gun and a mortar, or as Sam Manekshaw often said, a guerrilla and a gorilla! The *** killed two of our soldiers. What stops us from doing the same thing? Why did the CO, or the brigade commander or the GOC of the division not do this on their own? The Henderson Brooks Report clearly brought out political interference in military matters as one of the reasons for the debacle. For many years thereafter, the political leadership let the military do what they thought best. Lal Bahadur Shastri gave a free hand to Gen Choudury in 1965 and Indira Gandhi to Sam Manekshaw in 1971, and we know that the Armed Forces did a good job. Can you imagine what would have happened if someone like Sagat Singh had been the Brigade or the Divisional Commander? In July 1965, when he was GOC 17 Division in Sikkim, the Chinese gave an ultimatum to us to vacate Nathu la and . ...
HIMALAYAN BLUNDER – THE THIRD CLIMACTERIC (2) 2) Mao Zedong had verbalized the concept of Protracted War. In this state of war, one ceaselessly harasses the enemy at very little cost or damage to oneself, physically, economically, materially, motivationally, politically & above all emerge after all the action like water over a duck. Your regular army on the surface does not appear to be involved at all. Look carefully; isn’t this precisely what the Pakistani army is doing? I am time and again not mentioning the general Pakistani peoples who I believe would want peaceful relations with us. In the end it is we the common people of any Nations who live with both the ghosts of the dead & the ghosts of the unborn. Possibly, the Pakistani citizenry rising against these tyrannical foes of Humanity will be a lasting solution. We can & should overtly/covertly assist and abet such an uprising. There were only two “men” who led the Country through such times; Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri & Mrs. Indira Gandhi. I c ...

What are their lives like? With the passing of time, the Kayasthas have surged ahead. They have broken new grounds in vocations other than those relating to writing and record-keeping, and excelled in them. Thus, in public life, Dr Rajendra Prasad rose to become the first President of the Republic of India, whereas Lal Bahadur Shastri succeeded Jawaharlal Nehru as the Prime Minister. In 1964, after Nehru's death, Indira Gandhi turned down PM post in favour of Lal Bahadur Shastri
Indira Ghandi(nov 19-1917) bio graphy.: Early Life: The only child of Jawaharlal Nehru and the first Prime Minister of Independent India, Indira Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917. A stubborn and highly intelligent young woman, she enjoyed an excellent education in Swiss schools and at Somerville College, Oxford. After her mother died, in 1936, Gandhi became something of her father’s hostess, learning to navigate complex relationships of diplomacy with some of the great leaders of the world. Political Career Gandhi was elected president of the Indian National Congress in 1960. After her father’s death, Gandhi was appointed minister ofinformation and broadcasting. When her father’s successor, Lal Bahadur Shastri, died abruptly in 1966, India’s congress appointed her to the post of Prime Minister. She surprised her father’s old colleagues when she led with a strong hand, sacking some of highest-ranking officials. Gandhi subsequently brought about greatchange in agricultural programs that improve ...
India is the world's most populous democracy. A parliamentary republic with a multi-party system, it has six recognised national parties, including the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and more than 40 regional parties. The Congress is considered centre-left or "liberal" in Indian political culture, and the BJP centre-right or "conservative". For most of the period between 1950—when India first became a republic—and the late 1980s, the Congress held a majority in the parliament. Since then, however, it has increasingly shared the political stage with the BJP, as well as with powerful regional parties which have often forced the creation of multi-party coalitions at the centre. In the Republic of India's first three general elections, in 1951, 1957, and 1962, the Jawaharlal Nehru-led Congress won easy victories. On Nehru's death in 1964, Lal Bahadur Shastri briefly became Prime Minister; he was succeeded, after his own unexpected death in 1966, by Indira Gandhi, who w ...
Those who keep repeating with political naivete that India was defeated in the 1962 war with China simply insult those soldiers who sacrificed their lives defending the motherland. They showed incredible brevity and courage and fought till the last man and the last bullet. They did what they were ordered to do. They carried out their orders till the Last Breath and embraced death with a grace and elan that befits only the warriors of supreme order. "When the nation was celebrating Diwali, they were playing Holi with their blood." THE MEN IN WHITE CAPS WERE DEFEATED IN 1962 AND NOT THE BRAVE MEN IN OLIVE GREEN. While the Indian National Congress is still able to remember the role of former Prime Ministers Lal Bahadur Shastri and Indira Gandhi in the India-Pakistan conflicts of 1965 and 1971, it has forgotten the 1962 War with China. It is this Congress government which didn't feel it fit to honor for 50 long years the brave men who died for the country. SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO STILL ...

Lal Bahadur Shastri was Murdered to benefit Russia and IndiraGandhi
my mind very annoying and disgusting thoughts about govt. of India, mostly Congress. As Congress has ruled us for more than 50 years now. 2nd October is also Lal Bahadur Shastri's Birthday. He was the PM of India. Revolutionized the Indian Agriculture sector. Gave Jai Jawan, Jai Kissan. Why there is no single talk about him on this day in media? Why no national daily has publication about him? Not a single advt space containing his photograph and details, so that people can remember him. Just because he was never so much into Congress. For Nehru, we have Children's day. Is there something similar for our President Abdul Kalam?? Will there be one. I doubt. He is greatest president India has ever had. But since he wasn't the chosen one from Congress, they had there own candidate against him. Kalam won't find a similar mention in the books, media and recognition. Now take for example, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. On his birthday and death anniversary there would be lots n lots of publications in newspapers, on TV. He w ...
