Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi How many of you are surprised for Imran Khan marrying an ex-BBC correspondent Reham Khan, obviously the second timer? For me it is a confirmative indication that Imran Khan is the next big one to watch out in Pakistan’s politics. And this is not just like that. It is their proven traditions that more the notoriety you carry the more coveted you are and if it is about women in general then they simply love it. They have a free run from their religious affiliations. Their followers appreciate it more than anything else, as if they have scored a much needed boundary in a cricket match. And if it is about one of foreigner brides then obviously they celebrate it like a last ball sixer. I am not joking, check out their records. Recently it was Wasim Akram who married an Australian Shaniera, Mohsin Khan married famous Indian actress Reena Rai and the next sensational one which broke many Indians heart, hope, I don’t need to tell you about is sohaib Malik, as he is the man of the matc ...

Akram is regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers in the history of cricket. He holds the World Record for most wickets in List A cricket with 881 and is second only to Sri Lankan off-spin bowler, Muttiah Muralitharan in terms of ODI wickets with 502. He is considered to be one of the founders and perhaps the finest exponent of reverse swing bowling. Akram had a very special talent to move the ball both ways in one delivery which is called "double swing of Wasim Akram". No one in cricket history has done it so far. He was the first bowler to reach the 500-wicket mark in ODI cricket during the 2003 World Cup. In 2002 Wisden released its only list of best players of all time. Wasim was ranked as the best bowler in ODI of all time with a rating of 1223.5, ahead of Allan Donald, Imran Khan, Waqar Younis, Joel Garner, Glen McGrath and Muralitharan. Wasim has taken 23 4- wicket hauls in ODI in 356 matches he played. On 30 September 2009, Akram was one of five new members inducted into the ...

This documentary on Cricket World Cup takes you through the magical journey starting from the heavy defeats against West Indies and South Africa. It covers the thought process of Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Ramiz Raja and other prominent players from World Cup 1992. Imran Khan always believed that we would win it and we needed one good game to bounce back. This part 1 of the documentary also covers that game i.e. the encounter vs. Australia, which gave Pakistan the much needed confidence. Part 2:
Noone is as rhythmic as Waqar Younis, as mesmerising as Imran Khan's jump or as lethal as Wasim Akram these days. Where r the fast bowlers?

pakistani teem should need a powerful captain who takes design by his own . like Imran Khan ,Wasim Akram and Shahid Afridi
Pakistan's most successful captains has always been oldies like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Inzamam, etc… Never a youngster.
Imran Khan and Wasim Akram who were extraordinary cricketers they inspired and groomed many young cricketers, however I wish they cud spare some time to impart lessons in spoken English to quite a number of their players so that these players don't become a laughing stock while addressing the media and during presentation ceremony after the completion of the match.

In 70's 80's & 90's, there was a bunch of great fast bowlers, Imran Khan, Richard Hadlee, Malcolm Marshall, Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Wasim Akram, Curtly Ambrose, Waqar Younis, Denis Lillee, Courtney Walsh, Alan Donald, Shaun *** John Snow, Bob Wills... Also not to forget some spinners as Bedi, Qadir, Underwood, Kumble, Murali, Warne, Saqlain etc. This is the reason that players from that era as Sir Vivian Richards, Greg Chappell, Javed Miandad, Sunil Gavaskar, Brain Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, Alan Border, Steve Waugh etc have been rated so highly as they averaged 50+ against those bowlers (who themselves averaged 25 or less in tests) and spinners who dominated very well. Right now having an average of 50+ is not a big deal. Apart from Steyn. There is no bowler who lies in the league of those legends. Mitchel Johnson is improving day by day. But scoring runs against weak bowling sides doesn't make anyone a legend specially when you're playing against the 'legendary bowlers' of Bangladesh, Zimbabwe o ...
When I was 16, I was selected for Pakistan's U-19 cricket team as a fast bowler. I was training for the World Cup n my dreams were to represent Pakistan as a cricketer. Life steered me to a career in the Performing Arts but my love for the sport remains. Today, it's great to know that another 16 year old boy from India, who made his debut in Pakistan in 1989 (against Imran Khan, Wasim Akram n Waqar, then the fastest bowlers in the world) has 25 years later become the first sportsman to be awarded the highest civilian decoration by his country. It's about time the legendary artists n sportsmen r honored in the correct manner by their respective nations. Congrats to Sachin Tendulkar on an exemplary career! The Atif Aslam
in 1990: Wasim Akram scored his first Test hundred against Australia in Adelaide. Akram slapped a glorious 123 in a match-saving partnership of 191 with his captain and mentor Imran Khan.
I m trying to put together a world 11 from the 70's right through to today's spoilt brats. Here is what I've come up with in batting order... Gordon Greenich, Sunil Gavaskar, Brian Lara, Viv Richards, Sachin Tendulkar, Imran Khan, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne, Wasim Akram, Curtly Ambrose, Glen McGrath. I'm solid on the openers. In the modern game I would consider Matthew Hayden and Saeed Anwar. Anwars average mightn't compare to others but his explosive play was a sight to be seen. It killed me to leave my hero Steve Waugh out, if I had to switch him for anyone it would be Lara and bump Viv to first drop and slot Waugh in at no. 5 after Tendular. But on dependability, Waugh any day over Lara. What gave me the most grief was the allrounder. I've chosen Imran over Kallis. My top Allrounders were Kallis, Imran Khan, Kapil Dev, Ian Botham and Richard Hadlee. I've seen them all play and it's like splitting hairs, but my cousin Imran won out. Now the quicks...the question isn't who to put in, but who to leave ou ...
few years after Imran Khan was officially recorded as the third fastest bowler (in 1979) in the world – behind Australia’s Jeff Thomson and the West Indian tearaway Michael Holding and ahead of Australia’s Dennis Lillie – and before Pakistan cricket began firing in a spat of genuine pace men in the shape of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Muhammad Zahid, Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami, there was one Atiqur Rehman. Even the most passionate Pakistani cricket fans know very little or maybe nothing about a bowler who could have become the Waqar Younis or Shoaib Akhtar of the 1980s. Those who are old enough to remember the 1983 Sri Lankan Under-19 team’s tour of Pakistan, may remember the sight of a young 17-year-old fast bowler from Karachi who was terrorising batsmen with sharp, fast and awkwardly rising deliveries even on the most placid of wickets. Yet, Rehman failed to play in even a single Test or an ODI. Arriving on the scene in 1982, by 1986 he was history (rather, a footnote). Born in 1965 in Ka ...
Before start of IND-WI series, West Indies looking to 'spoil' Sachin Tendulkar's farewell party, says Chris Gayle They actually spoiled the party to an irreparable degree and Rohit sharma seems to be the greatest 'flaw' in this celebration. You guys are comprehensively ruining the party and bringing an end of celebration before it starts. 10 days match reduced to 5 days. Weekend shows diminished. Weekend tickets wasted. All Sachin fans as well as star-sports is cursing you guys. _ Dear Sachin, Reconsider your decision and retire from retirement. You played against Imran Khan,Allan Donald,Courtney Walsh,Curtly Ambrose, Wasim Akram, Shane Warne, Muttiah Muralitharan , Glenn Mcgrath, Waqar Younis, Brett Lee, Dale Steyn, Shoaib Akhtar, Shaun *** Shane Bond, Lasith Malinga, Chaminda Vaas.and now you are retiring when 'laloo - poolu' bowlers are around. Regards 1989-2013
Imran Khan holds the World Record of taking most wickets as a captain, he took 187 wickets. Richie Benaud is next with 138, and in fact there are only six other bowler-captains who took more than 100: Gary Sobers (117), Daniel Vettori (116), Kapil Dev (111), Wasim Akram (107), Bishan Bedi (106) and Shaun *** (103). Of these, The King Khan Imran Khan also has the best average (20.27) and strike rate (49.26 balls per wicket) while captain (qual 100 wickets)
Imran Khan is one of those cricketers, who've been added in ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. 3 other Pakistani cricketers are Hanif Mohammad, Javed Miandad & Wasim Akram
Pakistan's former fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar has criticised Misbah-ul-Haq saying the present captain lacked innovation and failed to inspire the national team players. The pacer, who retired during the 2011 ODI World Cup and is known for his forthright views, said Pakistan needed a captain like Imran Khan to get out of its current state of affairs. "I am disappointed with Misbah's captaincy, he is not aggressive, innovative, slow to read the situation and not able to inspire the other players. Imran was not a better batsman then Misbah but yet on so many occasions he came up the order, scored runs under pressure and won matches for his country," Akhtar told 'Geo News' ahead of the fourth ODI against South Africa. I don't see that happening with Misbah. He is scoring runs but what use are they if the team is not winning," he added," Akhtar said. Akhtar added he was disappointed with the way Pakistan have played in the one-day series against South Africa. "I don't see any move from Misbah to take charge and ...
Picture a 16-year-old Sachin taking guard against Wasim and Waqar, playing in an Indian XI that now reads like a list of commentators. His arms are too thin, his pads too large, his sleeves too long, and his face too tiny. Now hold that image in your head for a moment as you let this next bit sink in: this was almost 24 years ago. And finally, the unthinkable is upon us. Tendulkar will play International Cricket for just two more games, a maximum of four innings. On a day when cricket stood still, we look back on a glorious career that's about to come to an end. 1987: BABY STEPS INTO THE SPOTLIGHT Tendulkar’s first brush with International Cricket, incidentally, comes three months before his 14th (yes, 14th) birthday. It’s January 20, 1987, and the Cricket Club of India (CCI) is celebrating its golden jubilee. A CCI XI, with Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar and Mohammed Azharuddin in their ranks, is playing against Pakistanis, who have names such as Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Javed Miandad in their l ...

!! " Shahid Afridi would have been our leading run-scorer and wicket-taker" : Shoaib Akhtar !! "There is only one positive for Pakistan and that's Misbah-ul-Haq." "We can't build partnerships, we are not mature, we don't have quality batsmen and we lack finishing touches." "Misbah is the best captain right now, but he needs to be brave and survey villages to find stars like Imran Khan did. "Where are the ones who wanted Afridi, Razzaq and Younis to be replaced? You have got your answer!" "Had Shahid Afridi been here, he would have scored more runs than our batsmen and taken more wickets than our bowlers." "Please bring Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Moin Khan and Rahid Latif back. They'll set our team. We don't need any qualified coaches." "Pakistan will have to beat India to save their face."
Facts of Master.. [*]Raj Singh Dungarpur is credited for the selection of Tendulkar for the Indian tour of Pakistan in late 1989, and that also after just one first class season. [*] The Indian selection committee had shown interest in selecting Tendulkar for the tour of the West Indies held earlier that year, but eventually did not select him, as they did not want him to be exposed to the dominant fast bowlers of the West Indies so early in his career. Tendulkar made his Test debut against Pakistan in Karachi in November 1989 aged just 16 years and 223 days. He made just 15 runs, being bowled by Waqar Younis , who also made his debut in that match, but was noted for how he handled numerous blows to his body at the hands of the Pakistani pace attack. [*] In the fourth and final test in Sialkot , he was hit on the nose by a bouncer bowled by Imran Khan , but he declined medical assistance and continued to bat even as he gushed blood from it. ..8-).nasim.8-)..
Imran is out of hospital. As you know by now I am big fan of Imran Khan.. As I think about his legacy some of the leadership qualities I could see in Imran Khan are : A) Spotting the raw talent and mentoring them : Who can forget Wasim Akram, Waqar Younus, Inzamam. They were all handpicked by him and all of them went on to become world class players. Infact Imran Khan saw Waqar first time on television in some bank match and Waqar was taken away in 7 overs for being costly. Still he could spot the talent in him and next day he was in nets with Imran. B ) Taking hard decision : He had guts to remove Zaheer Abbas when he thought Zaheer does not fit in the new world of cricket. Zaheer was a demi God at that as far as batting is concerned. I still remember Zaheer in an interview saying "All selectors should resign as Imran Khan is the sole decider in Pakistan". He rested Abdul Qadir at the peak of his career on a turning track in Bangalore and instead took aging Iqbal Qasim as Indian were better players of Le ...
Lets pay a tribute to all the cricket legends Pakistan has produced, the big names who gave their services to our country. no matter how our (Bangladesh's) relations with Pakistan will be in the long run, I will admit one thing: Imran Khan, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar are the deadliest fast bowlers ever to be produced in the Muslim world.btw. I love Zaheer Khan (i.e. I am of the opinion India should never have split in the first place), so don't ever put any Razakar tag on me...we need to produce some Imran Khans if we want to win the World Cup in the future I believe, coz nothing is more fearsome to a batsmen than a thunder fast bowler.
We heard Wasim Akram, Salim Malik including several other Pak Cricketers alleged to match fixing right after World Cup 1992. What it suggests dat these players had the habit of cheating & corruptions but they could't dare fo dat till 1992 coz they know abt their leader The Great Imran will hang them if they even think about doing it as he was da Captain dat time. So it concludes the story dat even if u have corrupt people in ur team if ur leader iz man ov principle they can't do nothing. I believe if we have 2 build Pak we have 2 back Imran khan otherwise the ship of Pak gonna b sunked. Today's iz 1st March in which dissolution of assemblies would take place & I don't wanna see my country 2 b hijacked by da So called politicians again dats Y my Campaign in favor of Imran has been started now & Imran will b backed wid fact & figures. Remember we have da Last Chance to save this country. If we lose it we lose Pak. So Ma leader Ma Passion Ma Pakistan none other than Imran Khan !!!
I had been a fan of players like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Saeed Anwar. Was unable to find the same for Afridi.
Imran Khan, Wasim Akram & Wakar Younis are so lucky they never had me in front to roger them for boundaries
e There are so many things that Sachin Tendulkar is to so many people, that it is sometimes forgotten that he is first and foremost a batsman of unparalleled ability, dedication and mind. If he had taken to some other sport in early childhood, his persona would have been invented -- by coaches who want to teach their wards the virtuesa tight technique that allows attacking shots, by film-makers who want to create celluloid fantasy by depicting the perfect batsman and superstar, by marketing men who want to appeal to the broadest strataof public imaginable and by cricket fanatics who want to see batting perfection embodied in one person. Tendulkar has been in the spotlight since before he made his international debut, and has conducted himself in exemplary fashion, even though he has been India's biggest news-worthy item for two decades. His debut in 1989 was a fiery introduction to International Cricket, when as a 16 year old he had to face up to themight of Wasim Akram, Imran Khan and Waqar Younis in thei ...
I did a charity event & Imran Khan, Shoaib Akhtar & Wasim Akram signed some bats, shirts & other things for me to put on auction:)
QUESTION:- When was the last Test match in which both teams were captained by bowlers? That's defining a bowler as someone with no all-round pretensions, batting at No. 8 or lower? ANSWER:- The last Test in which both captains were frontline bowlers and batted at No. 8 or lower was in Cape Town in January 2003 (and in the match that preceded it in Durban) when South Africa were captained by Shaun *** and Pakistan by Waqar Younis. *** was a handy batsman, though - although he rarely batted above No. 8, he had already scored two Test centuries. If you discount him, you have to go back to Karachi in December 1997 (and the preceding match in Rawalpindi) when Pakistan were led by Wasim Akram and West Indies by Courtney Walsh. But Wasim also scored centuries in Tests - including one memorable double - and if you also discount him then it's a long way back to January 1960 (skipping 1982, when Bob Willis opposed Imran Khan, as Imran was undoubtedly a better bat than Wasim), when the captains in Calcutta ( ...
Just saw this... Must say, no time will ever match the brilliant 90s when Imran Khan and Wasim Akram were on the field.
MUST READ ►► Psychologist Madhumati Singh explains, "We have always heard stories of flashy, handsome Italian men being much in demand, similarly there is a charm attached to these rugged Pakistani men. They are flamboyant, suave, know the language of love, Urdu very well and use it in even better and are often seen being chivalrous around women." There is something about Indian women and Pakistani men. With Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza professing her love for *** player Shoaib Malik, we try to figure out the real story... Actor Reena Roy married cricketer Mohsin Khan; Zeenat Aman dated Imran Khan; Sushmita Sen, our Bollywood hottie, is attracted to Wasim Akram. Amidst all the controversies, media is rife with speculation about Sania Mirza, India's tennis sensation, tying the knot with Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. Well, one thing is common here - all these Indian women are terribly, terribly attracted to Pakistani men. Source is indian media lol :
Imran Khan for a brief phase, Saqlain too. But overall, Wasim Akram is the greatest. Hands down.
The day Wasim Akram accomplished a rare all-round feat in a Test match On January 22, 1990, Wasim Akram blazed his way to a maiden Test hundred. With that knock, he made his way into the elite list of players with a century and five-for in the sameTest Akram’s efforts helped him join the select band of players who scored a hundred and took five-for in an innings in the same Test. Mushtaq Mohammad and Imran Khan were the two other Pakistanis who had achieved this feat until then. Akram was, and still is, the only other entrant from Pakistan.
Pakistanophobia alive and well in India. This is what Aman ki Asha (Aman Ka Tamasha) advocates? A number of death threats have been given to Pakistanis recently by radical terrorist groups in India. Soon after Pakistani hockey players fled India out of fear due to threats against them, two Pakistani commentators for the England-India ODI series (Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja) have now left India, due to death threats and security concerns. The Pakistan Women's Cricket Team (currently in India for the Women's T20 World Cup) are planning to withdraw from the tournament as they too are uncertain about the security of the team in India. The level of hatred for Pakistan in India has never been higher. Just look at the direction the two countries are going. Pakistanis are openly voicing discontent with government corruption and protesting in public and on social media. Pakistani media is actually free and regularly attack our own politicians and our government for every action they take. Pakistanis overwhelmingly ...
Without a second opinion, Pakistan has a legacy of producing world class bowlers – both in fast and spin department. The likes of Fazal Mahmood, Khan Muhammad, Sarfraz Nawaz, Imran Khan, Abdul Qadir, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Aqib Javed, Mushtaq Ahmad, Saqlain Mushtaq, Shoaib Akhtar, Muhammad Asif, Umar Gul, Muhammad Aamir, Saeed Ajmal and many more, have made a formidable bowling line up over the years. The bowlers burst out at International scene out of nowhere. To sum it up, there’s no comparison of Pakistan in the world of cricket for producing and evolving bowlers, ironically both in their own playing eleven as well as in the opponent’s team, thanks to their impulsive batsmen
And the hearts of many Kashmiris are already skipping a beat. It is not any secret that the majority of the Kashmiris — young and old, men and women, boys and girls — root for the Green Shirts. With teary-eyes many elderly women and men in the Kashmir Valley could be seen sitting, anxious and worried, on their prayer mats, some also holding rosary beads in one of their hands; seeking divine intervention to rescue Pakistan from scary situations. With an uninspiring Misbah-ul-Haq at the helm of affairs of Pakistan cricket at the moment, the frequency of such nervous prayers has enhanced manifold. During Imran’s and Wasim’s playing days, the Kashmiris had plenty of faith in the Green unit and skill of the players. People, more often, expected magical performance from the game-changers like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar, Miandad, Inzamam, Zaheer Abbas, Shoaib Akhtar, Saqlain Mushtaq, and Saeed Anwar. But some would still pray, just in case. In Kashmir, cricket has never been seen just as a sport. It ...

Junaid Khan - HIS THOUGHTS DURING HIS INITIAL CAREER FEB. 2011 . [AY] “I wish I was given a chance with Amir. But it’s fate. I am happy to be part of the Pakistan team and want to do my best.” “We started our careers almost at the same time and were part of Pakistan’s junior team for the Under-19 World Cup in 2008 when we became good friends,” said Junaid of Amir, a fellow left-armer. Amir modelled his action on legendary left-arm paceman Wasim Akram, but Junaid learnt from another Pakistan great, paceman Imran Khan, by watching YouTube clips. “When I started cricket I used to watch Imran’s videos on YouTube and I was enamoured by his personality and his bowling and learnt a lot of things through the website as there were limited opportunities in my town,” said Junaid. Former chief selector Iqbal Qasim said it had been difficult to choose between Amir and Junaid. “When we were picking the national team in 2009, it was difficult to pick one of the two promising pacemen, both left-armers ...

The shot went on to haunt India for nearly a decade before they got their own back, during the 1996 World Cup quarter-finals at Bangalore. Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first in the final. The Indians got off to an excel ...

Reverse swing Main article: Reverse Swing Reverse swing was first discovered by Sarfraz Nawaz in the 1970s, who then passed it on to another Pakistani bowler, Imran Khan. Khan mastered reverse swing and the evidence of reverse swing by him was seen in 1983 in a Test match against India at Karachi, where he took 5 wickets in 25 balls. Imran Khan subsequently passed this skill on to Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram who are considered to have been the finest exponents of the delivery. On Pakistan's 1992 tour of England, England had no answer to the reverse swing, a new phenomenon to them. Pakistan won the series 2–1. The series was controversial one as the Pakistani team were accused of ball tampering, particularly being discriminated against by the English media. However, it was later proved that the Pakistani bowlers were simply ahead of their time. Following this episode, reverse swing expanded around the cricket world and more bowlers, including those from England, mastered the technique. Ref:
