He is a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). 963 bombs discovered, defused in Kano –CP The Police in Kano State yesterday said they had recovered and defused a total of 963 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) of different calibre, including two suicide-primed car bombs in the state from January 20 to date. Twenty six of these explosives, according to the police, were recovered in the last one month, saying some of the devices were recovered at the Federal College of Education, Kano on July 31, 10 others discovered at Rijar Zaki, along Jamblock Estate and one explosive recovered at the New Site of Bayero University, Kano on the August 1, 2012. Speaking during the command’s press briefing at the officers’ mess, Bompai, Kano State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, said fortunately all the explosive devices were successfully defused without causing injury or harm to any person.
