My Obama Story: How I came to support Barack H. Obama (2008) I was at the JUNETEENTH festivities on the Park Strip in downtown Anchorage, Alaska in June 2007. My childhood friend of 40 years, Debra A Prayer and I periodically made a point to connect somewhere in person just to hang out and catch up, and this year it happened to be the JUNETEENTH celebration (an event marking the end of slavery in the United States). As we walked the grounds, mingling with other friends and talking to each other, Deb suddenly stopped and pointed to a booth. "Hey, there's the Obama for President booth," she said. I looked in the direction of her finger. I was not impressed. Deb went on to mention Mr. Obama's speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, a speech frankly, I vaguely remembered. She was clearly an Obama supporter. I was not so sure. At that time, I was leaning towards supporting Hillary Clinton. But there was something in the air, even then, that caught my attention. I wanted to know who Barack Obama was. ...
conference got Hillary Clinton and Al Gore. Is this the Democratic National Convention or a tech conference ?
From a proud Native American from Elizabeth Warren's birthplace of Oklahoma: "I am a proudly enrolled member of the Kiowa tribe, and a Native of Oklahoma. Like many voters today, I am an ideological independent frustrated with the partisan gridlock in Washington. I rooted for Hillary Clinton in 2008, and have supported candidates from both political parties during the current election cycle. Recently, Senator Scott Brown incurred criticism for remarks he made during the first debate in the Massachusetts Senate race. However his words have been decontextualized and mischaracterized, they pale in comparison to the shockingly offensive conduct of his opponent, Professor Elizabeth Warren, since late April. In defending claims of Native American heritage that remain unsubstantiated to this day, Professor Warren said in early May that she has, "high cheekbones. . . like all the Indians do." Clearly, the professor has no problem with invokin g externa l signifiers of race or reductive superificial stereotypes wh ...
I remember watching the Democratic National Convention live on C-SPAN when he was just an Illinois State Representative. He delivered his first major speech to the American public as the Keynoter. It was amazing and I shed tears after he was finished. I remember telling my grandfather the next day that he could possibly be our President 4 years from then. Neither one of my grandparents thought it could happen. People in my family were for other candidates in 2007-08. Some for John Edwards, some for Hillary Clinton. When the primaries began I watched every result from Iowa through to the South Dakota Primary. Many of my family members still doubted he would be able to win the General Election in '08. Partly because he was black, partly because he was so young. Even still, I believed in him. It was such a wonderful moment in American History. I have never been prouder of the man I voted for than I was tonight. No matter what people say about him to me, I will NEVER regret voting for the President either in 2 ...
The Raleigh News & Observer Endorses President Obama Obama, again Raleigh News & Observer // Editorial Ever since he electrified the 2004 Democratic National Convention with a keynote speech, Barack Obama of Chicago had been marked as a man who might be destined for the White House. Destiny was fulfilled sooner than expected. The then-Illinois senator, a first-termer, was introduced to the next convention four years later as the nominee after a brutal series of primaries that saw him overcome candidates that included Hillary Clinton, the accomplished First Lady who now is his secretary of state. Now Obama seeks a second term, having weathered some early problems dealing with his own Democrats when they controlled Congress, and then running into a brick wall in a Republican-run House. Yet despite congressional Republicans who vowed to make their first priority his defeat at all costs, the president has accomplished much in his first term. Obama’s policies, including his economic stimulus efforts, have he ...
Part one of Hillary Clinton's speech at the DNC in Colorado. Part Two. Part Three.
While Obama, Susan Rice and Hillary Clinton scramble to cover their political *** over this administrations utter disaster within their Foreign Policy, Obama's weak and ineffectual policies and projection of a weak and declining America has only served to embolden ever party on the planet which has aspirations of supplanting America's Super Power status. The evidence more than ever shows Obama to be entirely incompetent in all Foreign Policy affairs and has now directly caused the murder and death of a US Ambassador and three other Americans and has encouraged direct attacks on sovereign US interests in Libya and world wide. Like Jimmy Carter, this incompetent incapable regime has allowed these attack to happen unanswered which only serves to embolden, empower and encourage America's enemies. While Obama's actions have directly caused our Ambassadors murder and death, Obama and his administrations only strategy is to create dissension among the ranks and point fingers to other agencies within the govern . ...
Ok, so here it is in a nutshell: At the Democratic National convention, Obama was bragging that Al-Qaida was gone, Osama bin laden was dead and the war on terrorism was over. Then, two weeks later on September 11th, our Libyan embassy was attacked and our ambassador and three other people were killed. The very next day, Obama (and his people which included Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton) came out and said that this was all due to a two bit anti-Islamic film trailer that came out in July (but no-one really ever saw). He then went to Las Vegas to campaign. So…for the past two weeks they aggressively argued that this attack was because of that film. Then yesterday, we find out that they knew all along, that is “was” a terrorist attack. They knew it was a terrorist attack the day “after” the attack! So…for the past two weeks we have been lied to. We were lied to about the reason why those people died. To make matters worse, by them saying it was this film which it was not, they sparked vio ...

In 2008 Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama called each other liars, they were both right and the Democrats picked the best liar to run for President. As First Lady, Hillary Clinton went on the Today Show and responded to the allegation of an affair between her husband (President Clinton) and an intern (Monica Lewinsky) as untrue and blamed it on a Right Wing Conspiracy. Of course, the Democrats brought back Teflon Bill a Hall of Fame liar, to lie for Obama at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. This is small group are the best and brightest of the living Democrats. They blissfully ignore responsibility or accountability, passing blame, with the assistance of the media, on others. Are liberals blind, programmed to ignore opposing views or in some hypnotic trance? Then there are the other leaders, DNC Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi that are not good liars, but liberals defend them. Debbie, Harry and Nancy do try hard and provide endless humor, for anyone with a sense of humor who d ...
If i were a US voter in 2008 Democratic National convention i would have voted for Hillary Clinton
It was a very amazing and a job well done when it comes to Democratic National Convention, 2012. A party founded by President Andrew Jackson. The party of FDR, J.F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama. The party of inclusion, the party of compromise, the party of all Americans. On the other hand, the national Republican party is undergoing rapid transformation. It may emerges very strong, inclusive, appealing, or its future cannot be predicted at moment!
Andrew Sullivan highlights an explanation for why Hillary Clinton is not at the Democratic National Convention. Because it would be illegal: Federal law — the Hatch Act of 1939, amended by Congress in 1993 — specifically prohibits secretaries of state from attending political conventions, and the State Department’s own ethics...
“Say Anything!” host Joy Behar talks to Current TV host and former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm and political columnist Sophia Nelson about why Hillary Clinton does not have a role at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
For the first time in more than four decades, Hillary Clinton will not be attending the Democratic National Convention. But not because she doesn't want to. Since she's secretary of state, federal statute and the State Department's ethical guidelines prohibit Clinton from participating in political activities such as a party convention. Other cabinet secretaries, such as Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Attorney General Eric Holder, will also not be in Charlotte for the same reasons that will keep Clinton away.
I know that it would be perceived as weakness by many, but I think that a strong argument could be made for doubling-down on Florida, announcing prior to the Democratic National Convention that in a second term, President Obama wants Joe Biden to focus solely on foreign policy as Hillary Clinton's replacement in the State Department, and in preparation for that, he has asked Charlie Crist to be his running mate this fall. If John Mccain had the guts to do this four years ago and would have run with Joe Lieberman instead of Sarah Palin, it is possible that he would be President today.
Will Manchin Vote for Romney/Ryan? Will Joe Manchin Vote For Romney-Ryan Ticket? This Weekend’s Announcement Gives Manchin Another Opportunity To Come Clean With West Virginia Voters – Despite the fact that he was his number one cheerleader and endorsed him in 2008, Joe Manchin has steadfastly refused to tell West Virginians if he will vote for President Barack Obama in November. Manchin, the consummate inside the beltway politician who will say or do anything to get elected, isn’t even going to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC out of fear West Virginians will remember the role he played in putting Barack Obama in the White House four years ago. At the 2008 convention Manchin cast his vote as a super delegate for Obama even though his opponent Hillary Clinton won West Virginia’s primary by an astonishing 41 points. Fast forward four years and Joe Manchin is running as far away from his friend Barack Obama, as fast as humanly possible. This weekend Republican nominee Mitt Romney ...
What is the possibility of a good old fashioned floor fight at the Democratic National convention. All we need is for a delagate from New York to nominate Hillary Clinton from the floor and then call for a voice vote of the delagates. Then watch as the delgates abandon Barack H. Obama, and run to Hillary. What a spectacle that will be. I can dream can't I??
So when John Kerry was running for president, his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry (the one with the family money) told a Pittsburg reporter to "SHOVE IT" (07/27/2004 Democratic National Convention) and no less than Hillary Clinton said "You Go, Girl!" in response. Today, Governor Chris Christie shut down a loud mouth who first questioned his teachers policies, then proceeded to use foul language around his children. Now the "people" are incensed. (the people being the liberal media) Amazing isn't it?
About to watch this clip of Hillary Clinton speaking at the 2008 Democratic National Convention
2 of 51. The Suddenness of Obama The American public was essentially made nationally aware of Barack Obama following his 2004 speech at the Democratic National Convention. Obama’s emergence into national politics was not a gradual inception. It was a sudden, covert ascendance to power seemingly assisted by foreign-like forces as an assault on vintage American conscience. Obama was elected to the U.S. Congress as a Democratic Senator from Illinois in November, 2004, after his candidacy was promoted in the state by a vastly corrupt, liberal, Chicago-based political cartel and a conglomeration of burned-out, 1960′s, radicals like Bill Ayers and Madeline Talbott. Then despite his lack of executive experience, in February, 2007, after only two years of serving at the federal level, Obama announced his candidacy for the 2008 Presidential election defeating Hillary Clinton, a 17-year veteran of federal politics and former First Lady, for the Democratic Party Nomination. Obama went on to then defeat John McCa ...
In 2008, Palmer showed up at the Democratic National Convention in Denver as a Hillary Clinton supporter, still resentful toward Obama for knocking her and three other candidates off the ballot for an Illinois state Senate seat some 13 years earlier by challenging voter signatures.
Hillary Clinton won't attend the Democratic National Convention. Well, that's what they get for scheduling the convention at the same time as Mervyn's annual "Summer Pantsuit Blowout."
Hillary Clinton to miss her first Democratic National Convention in decades:
Hillary Clinton is skipping the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte this year
Hillary Clinton will skip this year's Democratic National Convention
POLITICAL UPDATE: Romney has just purchased $1.7 million in statewide TV time in Pennsylvania over the next two weeks. . . . Citing her role as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton will not attend this year's Democratic National Convention. . . What has happened to the *** rights group GOProud? When they were at CPAC two years ago, they appeared to be conservative. Now they are focused on Gary Johnson's Libertarian Party campaign. Johnson says he will not siphon votes from Romney, “All those pot smokers that are for Romney? Nah, I don’t buy it.”. . . There are serious charges of racism regarding a recent article by a National Review correspondent. His fellow staffers are not defending him. Jonah Goldberg says "I find my colleague John Derbyshire's piece fundamentally indefensible and offensive. I wish he hadn't written it." . . . The Obama campaign has already made a major investment in the swing states. For example, they have hired 30 staffers and opened 7 offices in New Hampshire, while the GOP has ...
