Harry Potter has the Whomping Willow. Percy Jackson has Thalia's tree. Katniss Everdeen has the hanging tree. Fair enough
Breaking News Harry Potter, the boy who lived, having been divorced from Ginny Weasley, has been spotted having lunch with none other than the Mockingjay, Katniss Everdeen. The Chosen Ones were seen at a new time travel themed restaurant called Don't Blink, sharing a meal and a kiss. Rumors about the new spark have been flooding in for weeks and it looks like the two are finally out in the open with it. Ginny Weasley and her reps have no comments at the moment but we can safely say she's over him as much as he's over her. ~ Laughing Peeves
It seems destiny has afforded young adult readers a moment of sheer bliss: Two of the most badass chicks, Katniss Everdeen and Hermoine Granger, goofing off together.Actresses Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Watson ran into one another at a Christian Dior fashion show in Paris on Monday, and while a simple selfie of them would have been enough, J.Law facepalmed Emma.It was all in playful jest, and the two eventually smiled pretty for the cameras. Apparently, Lawrence and Watson have met several times before, but it's always good times when they combine their Harry Potter and Hunger Games powers. Source: wochit entertainment
Clary Fray, Katniss Everdeen, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Triss Prior. Which one is your favorite?'-'
Finished my cleaning, laundry, and the first Hunger Games book. That Katniss Everdeen is one tough broad. I'll probably watch the movie sometime this weekend. It's been sitting in our queue for awhile now. When it comes to movies based on books, I always like to read the books first. Most of the time the books are better. The only times I've found so far that the reverse is true is with the Princess Diaries movies and Benjamin Button. With Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, it's pretty evenly split. Both books and films are awesome.
If Percy Jackson, Katniss Everdeen and Harry Potter are online game characters... Percy Jackson will be the swordman class, Katniss Everdeen is the archer class and Harry Potter is the wizard class... Oh I'm sooo clevah!
If you find yourself praying for Princess RuRu ... please also say a prayer for Katniss Everdeen, Harry Potter and The Smurfs.
Question on the SxSW Edu attendee input survey that really threw me: "Harry Potter vs. Katniss Everdeen?" The forced response angered me

We want your opinion! We all know how product placement has found its way into most TV shows and movies, but how would you feel if it found its way into the novels you read? Would reading that Harry Potter was drinking a Pepsi or that Katniss Everdeen slipped on a pair of Nikes bother you? Why or why not?

November 27th, 2013: I am thankful for Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, The Baudelaire Children, Charlie Bone, Percy Jackson, The Pevensie Children, Sookie Stackhouse, Clary Fray, Max Ride, Tris Prior, Katniss Everdeen, Mia Thermopolis, Bella Swan and so many others for helping me escape reality and enable me to momentarily live in the fantasy worlds I so love. (To my FB friends and family: With all of the to do list, stress, and hustle and bustle of every day life it is easy to get caught up in the negative. I encourage you to take time each day, not just during the month of November, to reflect upon the good in your life and to let those who are positive aspects in your life know how thankful you are for them.)
Know we are not up to speed with most on this, but despite the historical male bias of Joseph Campbell’s monomyth and after seeing the sequel to the Hunger Games this weekend with two twelve year old boys, I have witnessed the “hero” of their generation: Katniss Everdeen! She stands shoulder to shoulder with the fictional hero of my youth, Luke Skywalker, and all those that have come prior and after the destruction of the Death Star . . . from the works of Homer to the equally fantastical writings of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. So few fictional characters rise to that level and I’m grateful for a chance to see them exclaim in unison their review of the film as “EPIC!” and that they are sharing this universe with their parents, but it ultimately belongs to them. It was, indeed, EPIC! Someday, I hope they drone on a bit too long about the heroes of their youth as they experience the latest amalgamation of the hero that rises up for their children. If not, they will have grandparents .. ...
THE Hunger Games: Catching Fire Review: Last year, audiences were introduced to a film that brought in another franchise that came from the pages of a book. That was The Hunger Games, which was about teenagers who were put into a background and force them to kill each other as well as trying to survive in the environment until only one was remaining. It proved a success with critics and audiences thanks to the story, action, and particularly the singled out performance of rising star Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen. It also offered something fresh for adaptations of fictional books. Previous works like Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings contained magic and other fantasy elements, while The Hunger Games was a more grounded film. Now we get to the sequel, Catching Fire. After being fed four attempts to make another franchise (all of which failed due to poor box office runs), we finally get to the one that people are actually looking forward to. The only other book adaptation other than Catching Fi ...

Everyone loves superheroes. But, I'm not a huge fan of them. Personally, I love the heroes that nobody expected were going to be heroes. Kids. The kids that had a tough life, but ended up proving everyone wrong by saving their worlds. Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen, Frodo Baggins, And even Samwise Gamgee. I just find them extremely brave, and they're my heroes, my idols, my... inspiration.
A thrilling adventure in the tradition of Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Katniss Everdeen.

So, recently my friends have been trying to convince me to do something I really don’t want to... And, inspired by their incessant rant, I decided to make my point in the form of a list. Hope you’ll enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed making it! Things I’d rather do/be... 1. I’d rather be a victim of Jigsaw from the SAW movie franchise 2. I’d rather have my internal organs used as furniture 3. I’d rather be Severus Snape from the Harry Potter book series 4. I’d rather be Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games book series 5. I’d rather spend five hours sitting on a desk at class with sadistic woman scratching her long fingernails at a blackboard 6. I’d rather have sharp pins injected underneath my fingernails and hoisted as to remove them slowly 7. I’d rather watch the Bourne trilogy - my father will know I HATE those movies 8. I’d rather forget everything about every great movie, cartoon, anime, TV series or YouTube video I’ve ever seen, book, graphic novels or mangas I’ve ever re ...

Congratulations to Suzanne Collins! Since debuting in 2008, Katniss Everdeen and the Hunger Games have taken the world by storm, much as Harry Potter did a decade before. YAY! The Hunger Games BEAT Harry Potter!
I'll break it down for you..Evanna Lynch (Luna from Harry Potter) is cosplaying (dressing up as) Katniss Everdeen..better?
I took a quiz on the internet on which book character i am from books The Hunger Games, Twilight, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and A Series of Unfortunate Events. Out of all of those i got Katniss Everdeen! WHO! xD TAKE THAT TWILIGHT!
Percy Jackson, Katniss Everdeen and Harry Potter, go get a drink and relax cause you've had a long hard day.
Ash Ketchum was 10 when he became a Pokémon trainer. Mulan was 16 when she saved China. Katniss Everdeen was 16 when she won the Hunger Games. Harry Potter was 17 when he defeated the Dark Lord. Rose Tyler was 19 when she became the Doctor's companion. I just turned 20 and I realized I haven't done anything nearly this cool with my life. Help. I'm having a quarter-life crisis.
Who would you pick as your BFF: Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games or Hermione Granger from Harry Potter?
For me? Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen, and Commander Shepard. If I get the rest of the protagonists, I also get Dumbledore's Army (or at least Hermione and Ron) and the entire suicide mission team from Mass Effect 2. So I think I'd do okay.
The perfect trio: Percy Jackson, Katniss Everdeen, Harry Potter. Kidding, its and Miss you CR Buds!
Harry Potter :: Rufus Scrimgeour as Katniss Everdeen :: President Coin. Both on the same side, but still a mistrust of the authority.
