I have been noticing a strange patteren with weather cycles, and it's the following thing, we shifted from early spring to destructive drought then a hurricane from the south ended the drought and within two weeks we went from end of summer to end of fall with temps in lower 40's. Now it looks as if we are going to even out to average in temps and rainfall. That being said, here is the prediction.Between the fifteenth of November through the twentysixth we will see a massive storm comming from southern canada mixing with warmer than average air from the southern states to bring us in the Ohio valley a blizzard with between 3 feet in the southern part of the state to 15 feet to the north, massive blowing and drifting of up to 30 feet and temps -10 to-30.HAVE A HAPPY DAY!

Hope everyone had a Happy Canada Day holiday!! We did. We actually escaped for 2 hrs to Duffins creek with 5 of our dogs and had a sitter for the others. Hank, 'Stafa, Gracie, Gizmo and Sneaky Nikos got a good hour in the forest and the stream, It was kinda sad tho, Hank at 12 1/2 had a harder time with the hills and distance than i thought he would (mind you frankly so did I!) but it was worth it. Now we need to find a place to drive the car too where he and Molsyn (Our 10 yr old Cane Corso Mastiff) dont have to walk more than 100 ft to the water. Thank god we didnt take her!! NO WAY we were gonna carry a 120lb dog but she loves the water too so want her to have some fun in what is likely this girl's last summer. Anyone know a place like that?

Since it's Canada Day, I decided that I should do something nice for a Canadian. Since I only know a few, and those few are many miles away, I scored a bit of luck. In the Starbucks drive thru, and the car behind me has a New Brunswick license plate. So after I paid for mine, I gave the guy a $10 and said to put it towards the order behind me, but tell them, "Happy Canada Day!" in an enthusiastic tone. He totally did. So, even though they're pretty close to Newfies, I helped a Canadian.

Then later there were spectacular fireworks at Killam's Wharf. It was 10:45pm before I back. Today I splept in until 7am instead of rising at the usual 5:00am sunrise!

I'd like to wish a Happy Canada Day (July 1) to all my Canadian friends celebrating the day off today.

Canada Day fell on a Sunday this year - how perfect to be able to celebrate our history and heritage when most people are off. Under the Federal Holidays Act, however, it can be moved to July 2nd when July 1st is a Sunday so many stores were open yesterday and are closed today. I don't get it. Moving it may create a long weekend for some but that's not why it was established in 1879. Happy Canada Day just the same!

Wow! The weather has been so hot lately-30+ degrees the past few days. I am wilted. Unfortunately these temperatures are too hot for me . It is beautiful this morning, the harbor still and serene, the town quiet. It was not quiet last night with cannons and fireworks going off until midnight (Happy Canada Day). Listened to a bluesy/jazz band play in the park across the road yesterday morning-nice. The horse drawn carriages were busy most of the day with tourists(still not sure how I feel about that yet..). But I foolishly spent the afternoon going in and out of air conditioned places which totally zaps your body. Hoping today is cooler (somehow I doubt it) -and I make it to yoga by 10am!! :) Happy belated Canada Day everyone!.

Canada's public debt is now over 800 billion dollars and because the private banks who print Canadian money charge compounded interest on this debt, we pay them nearly 170 million dollars each day only to cover a portion of the interests, that's about 62 billion dollars a year. The private banks (ex: The Royal Bank) have handed out loans for over 5.5 trillion dollars but only have an estimated 4 billion dollars in their vaults. Ah! Talk about our tax money being well spent! The legislation, championed by premier Tommy Douglas throughout his 17 years in office, meant the prairie province was the nation’s first to provide universal medicare. This was a seminal moment, one that paved the way for every other Canadian province to follow Saskatchewan’s lead. The start of the socialized medicine we enjoy today. "Strangely" (not!) we did not see any public celebration, or even recognition of this milestone. Happy Canada Day! Health care is a human right.

So I was late getting my Mom, my daughter and I to Canada Day to Volunteer...why because I stopped at Tim Horton's. Opened my door of the van in the parking lot and oops it hit the car/vehicle beside me. The guy arrives at my door as I am about to pull out with his complaint of the damage done to his not even 3 month old Vehicle. I just wanted to offer advice that if he doesn't want the vehicle damaged to purchase a Bubble or park in the middle of a field. instead of a tiny parking spot ..GRR Thankfully the Day got much better out at Lions Park.
