Stewart-Haas Racing is a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing team based in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The team is co-owned by Haas Automation founder Gene Haas and three time Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart, and was founded as Haas CNC Racing in 2003 after Haas, whose company was a sponsor of Hendrick Motorsports, elected to form his own team.

Stewart to skip Bristol: Tony Stewart has decided not to compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. Veteran driver Jeff Burton, a winner of 21 Sprint Cup races, will pilot the Bass Pro Shops/Mobil 1 Chevrolet SS for Stewart-Haas Racing in place of Stewart for the second straight week. Burton subbed for Stewart last weekend at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. Burton has 40 Sprint Cup starts at Bristol, which includes a victory in the 2008 Food City 500. This driver change pertains only to Bristol. Stewart's plans for upcoming Sprint Cup races have yet to be determined.
Kevin Harvick talks about Tony Stewart. Following his second-place finish in Sunday's Pure Michigan 400, Kevin Harvick addressed "a difficult week" for Stewart-Haas Racing. Owner and teammate Tony Stewart decided to sit out a second race as he continues to grieve over the death of sprint car driver Kevin Ward Jr. in an on-track incident last Saturday night. "I've known Tony Stewart for a long time," Harvick said. "You look, you know, you see what happened. I still don't believe that he even knew that he ran into that car. I know for sure that Tony Stewart is not going to run over somebody that's on a racetrack. I don't think there's anybody in this garage that would." Harvick credited SHR executive vice president Brett Frood and co-owner Gene Haas with keeping the organization together over the last eight days. "Brett Frood is at the racetrack making sure that everything's right," Harvick said. "Gene Haas was there last weekend. Everybody just has to pitch in and do their part, make sure we do everything ...

Gene Haas co-owner of NASCAR team Stewart-Haas Racing has revealed his outfit have been granted a Formula 1 entry for 2015.
This is great news. I’ve been a big fan of Gene Haas’ racing exploits for decades – since his partnership with Paul Newman (yes, that Paul Newman) at Newman-Haas Racing in the now-defunct CHAMP Car Open Wheel Series (4 consecutive championships), then to NASCAR and his partnership with Joanne’s favourite, Tony Stewart, at Stewart-Haas Racing (championship, second year), and now to Formula 1. Looking forward to what Mr. Haas puts together for next year.
DAVE GRAYSON'S RACING NOTEBOOK. Darlington press release from NASCAR Integrated Marketing. Smoke On The Rise Tony Stewart’s comeback from his 2013 leg injury is in full swing. At Texas Motor Speedway, Stewart continued his return to form. He led Stewart-Haas Racing on qualifying day, with the team’s first Coors Light Pole of the season. Stewart has scraped off whatever rust may have lingered from the layoff, scoring three top 10s in the last four races. Now, Stewart heads to the “Track Too Tough To Tame.” And that moniker is all too literal for Stewart. Darlington Raceway remains on a very short list of unconquered race tracks for Stewart. In fact, that list is only two tracks long (Kentucky – which has hosted only three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races – is the other). In 21 starts at Darlington, Stewart has an average finish of 12.0, including four top fives and 11 top 10s. Perhaps his average starting position could explain some of the hardships. Stewart’s average starting position at Darli ...

Since none of my Stewart-Haas Racing team was able to win the Daytona 500, I am glad Dale, Jr. won.. and another surprise Casey Mears finished in the top 10. Glad Weekends are made for NASCAR both on the Sprint and Nationwide scene.. I am not too much into the truck races though..lol.. It will get me through till football.. I am always ready for football.. I wish they had a dome league with a bigger field instead of Indoor football on the 50 yard field. maybe someday.. They could play in Toronto, Syracuse, San Antonio and a couple other places and I am sure Paul Allen who owns the Superbowl Champ Seahawks would put a team in Portland Oregon. Soon, the Rams maybe back in Los Angeles so that would open up St. Louis again... They don't have to play on weekends, can play during the week at night.. ok, I know I am dreaming but there has to be some rich *** out there somewhere with money to burn.. they blow it on everything else, why not on FOOTBALL !

Stewart-Haas Racing: It's almost go time in Daytona. via
DAVE GRAYSON'S RACING NOTEBOOK. GUESS WHAT QUESTION THEY ASKED DANICA DURING MEDIA DAY. Thursday, February 13th, was the annual NASCAR Media Day. A reported 300 plus reporters, from all forms of the media, converged on Daytona Beach-Florida to meet with a reported 50 plus drivers who patiently and politely answered the same questions all day long. Needless to say, everyone wanted interview time with Stewart-Haas Racing's Danica Patrick. We all know why: it was of course regarding comments made by the legendary Richard Petty regarding Patrick's status in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. During the course of a February 9th personal appearance in Toronto-Canada, Petty was asked if he thought Patrick was capable of winning a NASCAR Sprint Series race. Without a second's hesitation, Petty replied "only if everybody else stays home." Needless to say, the comment from the King of Stock Car Racing lit up a firestorm. It also lit up the racing media as well as the social media. To be completely fair and honest, Danic ...
A wonderful Wednesday morning to all of my Drafting the Circuits friends! Welcome to our newest friends, too! We're so happy you have joined us. Today marks 10 days until the 2014 Daytona 500. Car No. 10 is just about the most talked about car on circuit today. Piloted by Danica Patrick and a part of the Stewart-Haas Racing organization, car No. 10 gets more than its fair share of media attention. Like its many counterparts, car No. 10 has been running NASCAR's circuit since 1949 and has had names like Bill Champion, Ricky Rudd, Johnny Benson Jr., Scott Riggs, and Derrick Cope as drivers. In fact, when Derrick Cope piloted the No. 10 car to victory in the 1990 Daytona 500, his name was forever linked to NASCAR history. Last year Danica Patrick took the pole in The Great American Race. She takes a ton of criticism in our sport - most recently from The King himself, Richard Petty, but also has limitless fan support. Her ability to draw crowds, sell merchandise, and keep media attention makes her a positive ...
Kurt Busch and Kevin Harvick have much more experience in NASCAR's premier series, but Danica Patrick is actually Stewart-Haas Racing's most tenured driver — outside of fellow driver and co-owner Tony Stewart.
Kurt Busch still considering Indy 500 run: Sprint Cup driver Busch said he expects to have "a pretty good indication" by the end of January if he will make what he expects is his last attempt to enter the Indianapolis 500. The 2004 Sprint Cup champion completed IndyCar's rookie orientation program for the race last season in a car prepared by Andretti Autosport and said he has a standing offer from that team -- plus another -- to enter the May 25 spectacle. Doing so would make the Stewart-Haas Racing driver the first since Robby Gordon in 2004 to contest both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600, NASCAR's Memorial Day weekend offering, on the same day. Busch said he has a "couple of strong leads for advertising partners" but is concerned over a lack of testing time and that the Indianapolis 500 is the first oval event on the 2014 IndyCar schedule. His age, he said, might make this his last shot. "Testing, we still would probably need to go to Fontana [Calif.], or we're just going to have to bite the ...
There's some amusement over the new driver lineup at Stewart-Haas Racing. But Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick and Danica Patrick trust team owner and driver Tony Stewart to help them avoid becoming a circus.
HAAS IN F1? What could this mean? Hmn. File this in the “out of left field” and “we’ll see if this actually happens” categories, but judging by Gene Haas’ pursuit of Kurt Busch last summer, you can’t rule anything out with his ambitions or desires for his race team. A German report from Auto Motor und Sport identifies Haas’ Haas Racing team as wanting to submit its own entry for the 2015 FIA Formula One World Championship. The FIA has opened a selection process for a new 12th team. According to this report, the team would be run in-house in Charlotte by former Red Bull team manager Guenther Steiner, with cars initially built by Dallara and engines and transmissions from Ferrari. Haas’ operation does have some of the necessary elements to run an F1 squad, as he is the world’s largest manufacturer of CNC machines, and is also near the Windshear wind tunnel in Concord, North Carolina. The other two teams identified by the AMS are Colin Kolles’ team and the mysterious StefanGP operation. ...
Stewart plans to run at Daytona in February: Stewart met with members of the media at Daytona International Speedway and discussed his health, the preparedness of Stewart-Haas Racing for 2014 and many other topics, the transcript in part: THE MODERATOR: Talk a little bit about what it feels like to be back and be here at Daytona. Tony Stewart: It would be nice if it was dry right now. But it's Daytona and it's February, and you get this when we come down sometimes. But it's nice to be back at the track, would definitely like to be in a car this week, but we're still on schedule to be clear the day before the Shootout, so we'll be down here for two days hanging out and watching our teams run. Q. How is your health compared to how you feel? What are the doctors saying? STEWART: Not bad. The weather -- I'm a pretty good barometer right now. Seems like if the rain comes or snow or cold comes, I know it right before it changes. But I feel pretty good. I still have a little ways to go, but we've got four weeks ...
With Tony Stewart‘s recovery from a broken leg and the additions of Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch, Danica Patrick has wound up being a somewhat forgotten figure at Stewart-Haas Racing. BEST MOVE -- Kevin Harvick made a great decision to move to Stewart-Haas Racing. Without question, Harvick achieved impressive results at Richard Childress Racing, usually far surpassing his teammates. With Hendrick Motorsports equipment under him at SHR, look for Harvick to have the kind of breakout season that Matt Kenseth did in 2013. If Jimmie Johnson doesn't win a seventh championship in 2014, Harvick might well win it all. definatly cant wait for a new start for harvick!
The Cup Series “Silly Season” started early when Kevin Harvick announced he would be leaving Richard Childress Racing after '13 was finished. Harvick is headed to Stewart-Haas Racing, which released Ryan Newman and hired Kurt Busch. Childress hired Newman. Martin Truex Jr. lost his sponsor at Michael Waltrip Racing and went to Furniture Row. Waltrip Racing hired Brian Vickers to replace Mark Martin. Chip Ganassi released Juan Pablo Montoya and hired rookie Kyle Larson.
Other driver changes include: Kevin Harvick moving from RCR to the No. 4 at Stewart-Haas Racing, Ryan Newman leaving SHR to take over Jeff Burton’s ride at RCR (Burton signed on with Michael Waltrip Racing for temporary driving assignments in 2014 and to be a full time NASCAR analyst in 2015 at NBC). Kurt Busch is leaving Furniture Row Racing to be added as a new, fourth team at SHR. Kyle Larson is replacing Juan Pablo Montoya at Earnhardt Ganassi Racing (Montoya will return to Indy Car racing, but it is rumored that he may drive in some NASCAR Sprint Cup races for Roger Penske). AJ Allmendinger is replacing Bobby Labonte and switching to Chevy, and Brian Vickers is going full time in Cup, if healthy. Drivers that may return to Cup include J.J. Yeley, Joe Nemechek, and David Reutimann. Ken Schrader is retiring. Perhaps one of the biggest changes in my opinion is the move by Martin Truex, Jr. to leave MWR and go on board with Furniture Row Racing. I mention this switch specifically because of how it ca . ...
Analyzing NASCAR’s Silly Season: Who went where and how they’ll fare in 2014 Every year NASCAR's Silly Season gets more unpredictable than the previous and the latest version was no exception. Who for example would have guessed Kurt Busch would join Stewart-Haas Racing where his teammates will include Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart, two longtime antagonists? Or because of the sudden departure of mainstay sponsor NAPA, Michael Waltrip Racing would be forced to jettison Martin Truex Jr.? These notions once farfetched are now actualities. It would appear, however, last week's confirmation by Richard Childress Racing that Austin Dillon is moving to Sprint Cup full-time concludes the wackiness that has been this year's Silly Season. Although there will be some minor changes involving the sport's smaller teams between now and Daytona, for the most part the driver roster for 2014 appears set. And for those who haven't been keeping track — or may have forgotten, considering some of these moves were announce ...
Stewart-Haas Racing. FOX Sports: Johnston to replace Addington as Stewart's crew chief
JT'S SPORTS NEWS Both Alabama and Auburn were in action last night. The Tigers defeated Jacksonville State 78 to 54. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide beat Georgia State 75 to 58. Pitcher Tim Hudson is leaving the Atlanta Braves after nine seasons. Hudson has agreed to a two-year, $23 million contract to pitch for San Francisco Giants. The Braves earlier this month failed to make a qualifying offer to the 38 year old, who won 49 games over his last 3 seasons in Atlanta. NASCAR - Tony Stewart will have new crew chief in 2014. Stewart-Haas Racing on Tuesday named Chad Johnston the new chief. He replaces Steve Addington. Johnston worked as crew chief for Martin Truex Jr this past season.
IndyCar: O'Rourke to engineer James Hinchcliffe; Hampson takes R&D role The architect behind James Hinchcliffe's three IndyCar Series wins will continue working with the Andretti Autosport team in 2014, but when the Canadian returns to the cockpit, he'll have a new engineer to collaborate with on the engineering stand. RACER has learned championship-winning engineer Craig Hampson (BELOW, with Hinchcliffe) has transitioned to a new role within Andretti's engineering group, taking on overarching R&D responsibilities for the top-tier outfit. Hampson, who engineered Sebastien Bourdais to his Champ Car titles while working for the Illinois-based Newman/Haas Racing organization, received numerous offers to join other teams once NHR exited IndyCar after the 2011 season. He'd work part-time with Dragon Racing in 2012 and spent the 2013 season traveling and winning with Hinch, but with the team's need to keep pace with rivals Ganassi Racing and Team Penske, Hampson was given a chance to use his considerable skills ...

Newman wants to race for a team where he is wanted: Newman's needs are simple."I just want to race some place where I'm wanted," Newman said. "Where people are happy I'm there." Newman received a one-year reprieve on his contract with Stewart-Haas Racing, where he is currently 18th in the standings. For most of the season, Newman has been outrunning his bossman Tony Stewart. While Newman's resume isn't as extensive as Stewart's, it's respectable with 16 Sprint Cup victories and six finishes of 10th or better in the standings. The 35-year-old South Bend, Ind., native ranks third among active drivers in pole positions with 49. Not surprisingly, team owner Richard Childress said last week that Newman tops his list of potential candidates for the Chevy which is being vacated by Kevin Harvick at season's end. "There are only so many guys that don't have contracts for next year," Newman said. "At this point, I would entertain any possible opportunity. I don't think anyone in my position wouldn't do anything oth ...
Hoping the race gets in tonight but if not there is always tomorrow but I now have a new found respect, or should I say added respect, for Kevin Harvick. Just saw his workout routine during the rain delay and have to say, you go Kevin. Green belt in Tae-Kwan-Do and also performs a vigorous workout. He would definately fit into our Fire Athlete BootCamp. Can't wait till next year when he joins Stewart/Haas Racing.

Can someone PLEASE tell me why add people you don't know FOR REAL??? Is it some kinda contest or race to see how many people you can add each month? I mean, if I do not know you or "know you, know you know",(not to seem rude here) then why would I add you???! At least reply to my messages so I can get to know you or something. Other than that you are just unused/useless space taken up in my Feed and Lists. Who actually knows over 1,000 people really?? Just being real. Just being real...
Patrick 91st on Forbes list Danica Patrick once again joined Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga, Steven Spielberg, Bon Jovi and Justin Bieber -- to name a few -- on the World's Most Powerful Celebrities list published by Forbes. The Sprint Cup rookie ranked 91st. No other driver in motorsports was ranked. This marks the highest Patrick has ranked. She was 95th in 2007 and 96th in 2010 and 2011. "It's pretty flattering," Patrick said. "You see the names on that list, and it's pretty incredible to be included. It's obviously great for Go Daddy and for all of my sponsors as well. It's a great honor for me and everyone involved. I'm certainly happy to be included." On this year's list, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver ranked 83rd in money (estimated $15 million annual income), 55th in TV/radio, 74th in press, 53rd in marketability and 74th in social. Patrick ranks 27th in the Cup standings with one top-10 finish, eighth in the Daytona 500, after becoming the first woman to win the pole in NASCAR's top series. Her celebri ...

DPP ACCUSE PP LED GOVT OF PLANS TO ARREST PETER MUTHARIKA!! The Democratic Progressive Party-DPP wishes to inform its supporters and the nation at large that it has uncovered a plot by the ruling People’s Party to scheme the arrest of its President Professor Peter Mutharika on Saturday 29th June immediately Parliament rises sine die. Our sources within the government machinery have confided to us that Professor Peter Mutharika will be arrested in connection with the alleged 61 billion Kwacha Bingu estates valuations as an accomplice using the money laundering Law. We in the DPP find these assertions by the ruling elite as political witch hunt aimed at targeting individuals deemed political mountains to government. We are surprised and failing to connect Peter Mutharika to the alleged bank accounts especially when one thinks how it is impossible to penetrate personal bank accounts as every account is confidential to its holder. However the DPP recollects what the ruling party has been doing to Professor ...

Then Muslims laughed and said, you are kaffirs! And then white people said, noba batsho kuni(black people) since bona babengali understand elagama, then black people got angry and thought that bayathukwa, so abelungu took advantage of that.nobody knew it then, no we know.so if you don't worship allah you a kaffir, akho kaffir iyimfene apha!" _ Trevor Noah

I think it is ridiculous the big deal they are making about what Paula Deen said... Geez in my day we may have called each other names and even got into fights but everyone lived to remember and some of us even laugh about. I have been the only white girl in my school and have been beaten up more than I would like to remember. I have been called a Honkie, *** Whitie maybe even other names I can't remember. But in the end I did have other race ppl who were my friends and some of those friends even stood against their own race to defend me. If names really bother you than you need to grow thicker skin... stick n stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me! What I love the very most is when someone pulls the raciest card, but don't. know how colorful my family is! Instead of focusing so much on names or racial slurs..try looking at those ppl who are being killed by their own race and call their own race..those racial slurs that they cry about if you say it. Get over it and leave Paula Deen a ...

Me and the hubby got so mistreated in Wal-Mart last night. Went to get a big screen and a new laptop. We only got the laptop due to what I think was racial profiling. They are now reviewing the tapes because the manager we contacted this morning says they were in the wrong. He asked how do we want to be compensated. Stop profiling we paid for everything in cash. I get watched in dept. stores, liquor stores, gas stations, etc.. When does it stop?

RUMOR: Ryan Newman could go to Richard Childress Racing in 2014 to drive the No. 29 car, Harvick going to Stewart-Haas Racing.
Anyone else experienced bad customer service here? "The Newsagents on Stroud Road have already been commented on on earlier in the month by someone...Well i went in there today to buy some *** and as usual, the ignorant woman behind the counter tried to short change me, whilst all the time talking on the phone whilst serving me so i have a suggestion...MAKE the shopkeepers feel like proper criminals and con men by carefully checking your change and holding bank notes up to the light before accepting it."
BOY THIS WOULD HURT!! But, if he's leaving SHR, I'd love to see him go to a top notch team, and you can't get much more to the top than RCR! Newman To Richard Childress Racing? Could Richard Childress be adding another team in 2014? FOX Sports’ Lee Spencer is reporting Ryan Newman, a free agent who appears on the outs with Stewart-Haas Racing is the top choice to replace a departing Kevin Harvick for 2014. Harvick, who is leaving the No. 29 ride and is likely taking sponsors Budweiser, Rheem, and Jimmy John’s with him has already been signed at SHR to, in effect replace Newman. With the organization unlikely to expand to four cars, that leaves the free agent with slim pickings and the RCR ride has become a potential option. Childress, who has Jeff Burton and Paul Menard over the long-term, along with Austin Dillon moving up full-time in 2014 would love to grow back into a four-car program. Proper sponsorship would be needed for Newman, who has also reportedly made inquiries at Furniture Row Racing to ...

Here's wishing Danica, Tony and Ryan the best of success at Sonoma~! Go Stewart-Haas Racing Go~!
The following are statements from Stewart-Haas Racing drivers Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman and Danica Patrick regarding the passing of fellow racecar driver Jason Leffler. Tony Stewart, three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion and four-time USAC champion: “Jason Leffler was a great racer and an even better friend. We raced together a lot, and our career paths were very similar. He loved racing, especially open-wheel racing, and that’s a passion we both share. To not have him around to talk about whatever race one of us had just run, or were going to run, will be hard. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, especially his son, Charlie, who Jason loved more than anything.” Ryan Newman, winner of 16 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races and the 1999 USAC Silver Crown championship: “Jason and I raced hard together. We never crashed, or even rubbed wheels. We weren’t enemies, but we were never really friends, either. We were competitors. I respected him as much as he respected me. My prayers are for ...

DAVE GRAYSON'S RACING NOTEBOOK. IT MUST BE SUMMER, LOOK WHO'S IN VICTORY LANE. It been said for many years that Tony Stewart's driving performances gets hot in the summer months. It was plenty warm in Dover, Delaware last Sunday when Stewart drove his self owned Stewart-Haas Racing, (SHR), Chevrolet in the Dover International Speedway's victory lane. Stewart passed Juan Pablo Montoya, with two laps remaining, to claim his first win of the season and his 48 career win. When he arrived at Dover, Stewart was frustrated. He was winless, with no top five finishes, 20th in the championship rankings 155 points out of first and 44th points away from the tenth position needed to make the Chase line up. He left Dover 16th in points, 33 out of tenth, with a legtimate shot at least gaining one of the two wild card berths for the Chase. It's been a frustrating 2013 for SHR and that has been the subject of many team meetings as of late. Stewart's win a Dover was a badly needed breath of fresh air. SHR more than earned ...
Tony Stewart managed to snag the first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win of the season for Stewart-Haas Racing at Dover International Speedway yesterday. It looked like Juan Pablo Montoya was going to take the top spot for Chip Ganassi Racing Teams until Stewart passed him on the penultimate lap. It's been a difficult season for Stewart with crashes and equipment failures plaguing the former champion since the Daytona 500. It would have been Montoya's first win since 2010. However, it's not the first close call for JPM this season. The Colombian former IndyCar and Formula 1 winning driver is definitely a force to be reckoned with and it may only be a matter of time before he takes his 42 car into Victory Lane. (
The Colombian driver Juan Pablo Montoya (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing) finished second, this Sunday in the FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks, valid for the Nascar Sprint Cup 15th career American Tony Stewart won. The Colombian, who has not won a race in Nascar, came close to staying with the win, but two laps from the end, was outclassed by Stwewart (Stewart-Haas Racing). The next race of the Sprint Cup of Nascar will be the Party In The Poconos 400, at Pocono (Pennsylvania, United States). Getting closer to a win JP
DAVE GRAYSON'S RACING NOTEBOOK. It's hardly an industry secret that Stewart-Haas Racing, (SHR), is having to wade through a rather dismal start to the 2013 racing season, and that's putting it politely. The fact that SHR's three race teams have not been faring well in literally any performance category you could name is a mystery to many observers of the sport. Recently Greg Zipadell, SHR Director of Competition, attempted to shed some light on the situation and, in the process, freely admitted that his teams have fallen behind on technology issues and that's one of the reasons they are not racing at the same levels with other top Cup teams such as Henrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing. Zipadelli admitted that SHR was a little show in coverting their operation over to NASCAR's new Generation-Six race car. Surprisingly, he said the organization fell behind due to adding a third team this year for driver Danica Patrick which also required a time consuming internal shuffling of personnel to accomodate tha ...
Tony Stewart Racing at Dover with an Eye on Oklahoma KANNAPOLIS, N.C., (May 29, 2013) – When a deadly EF5 tornado roared through Moore, Okla., May 20, lives were shattered and property was destroyed. Amid the chaos immediately surrounding the tornado, families searched for loved ones. Some of those loved ones were of the four-legged variety, ranging from beloved family pets to valuable farm animals. More than a week after the tornado cut a two-mile wide swath of destruction across Moore, children are being reunited with their pets and farmers are able to reclaim lost livestock. Reuniting people with their animals is Code 3 Associates, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization specializing in animal rescue and recovery in disaster areas. Longmont, Colo.-based Code 3 Associates has been a partner of Stewart-Haas Racing since 2012, where the collaboration has led to increased recognition for the efforts of Code 3 Associates and, in turn, increased donations to the national response team that at the re ...
We are 41 laps into the Coca-Cola 600! Ryan Newman p21, Tony Stewart p20, Danica Patrick p33. Good luck today Stewart-Haas Racing!
i guess greg throws danica under the bus Greg Zipadelli, the competition director at Stewart-Haas Racing and longtime confidante of Tony Stewart, said the team has fallen behind on technology relative to the top NASCAR Sprint Cup teams. Zipadelli said the combination of adding a third car for Danica Patrick, converting to the new Generation-6 cars and shuffling personnel internally has left SHR well behind top teams like Joe Gibbs Racing and Hendrick Motorsports so far this season. Coming into Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Newman is 17th in points, 21st and 28th. Thursday night, Newman qualified 10th for the Coca-Cola 600, with Patrick 24th and Stewart 25th.(full story at SPEED)(5-25-2013)
Richard Childress Racing shake-up leads to interesting speculation By Monday Morning Crew Cheif...all things NASCAR NASCAR compares to the “Big 4″ sports in many ways. It’s got a great fan base, it has a set schedule, etc. However, it’s very different in one large way. Tampering. See, in all other sports, the athletes that compete for the “teams” in the sport, are not allowed (without permission) to talk to any other team while still under contract. That’s where NASCAR differs greatly. We’ve seen Kasey Kahne sign a contract with Hendrick Motorsports in 2010, for the 2012 season. Before this season, it was announced that Kevin Harvick would leave Richard Childress Racing to move to Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014. That was the key to what will be a major shake up at Richard Childress’ organization in 2014. Harvick will move on. Fellow drivers, Paul Menard, and Jeff Burton are both in the final years of their contracts as well. Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing, who used to share an engine shop with th ...

Danica Patrick faces big challenge in qualifying at Las Vegas The first three weeks of the 2013 season were expected to be the most worrisome for Danica Patrick as she attempts to qualify for Sprint Cup races as a rookie driver. NASCAR switched back to traditional qualifying this year, with the 36 fastest drivers making the race on speed. Provisionals for the first three races are based on 2012 owner points, and Patrick ran just 10 Cup races last year. Danica Patrick must qualify on speed for the Las Vegas race or should could miss the event.
