I agree. He is a *** of a golfer don't get me wrong. Just not Tiger Woods level
Was bound to made much of Speith's streak w/o waiting to see if its true greatness
peaking at the right time is important. (unless you were/are TW) Scott et al. might've peaked too early.
if Rickie could stay away from the big numbers I would really say Augusta is best fit for hisn1st major
idk Speith hasn't shown me anything besides Hyundai. Putts are not falling making lots of bogeys.

wow i disagree with this. Spieth and McIlroy haven't shown good enough form I would put more on Phil Adam or bubba
I'll just never forget his implosion several years ago. He's obviously incredible, but Augusta takes more than talent
Good point. Last yearhe was fourth and his best finish at Augusta.

Fox coverage of the US OPEN is REALLY BAD.
Fox has no business showing a golf tournament. Why do they think we want to hear their opinions. Just show us the golf.
Only four players are under par for the day. Chambers is playing TOUGH this Saturday:
I didn't see much crying from him day 1.
Greens aren't great. Design is fine, conditioning is not. But they look worse than they play.
But do you see my point? If you hit a good putt, it doesn't go in a lot of the time, but a bad putt can find it's way in
I guess the break stops before the hole
But then you have crap like this happening there: . Is that a fair test?
but it is THE test. . They all have to deal with it
I'm not saying that. I agree with Jack that mindset means a lot, however that doesn't stop it from being a crappy test.

Jason Day is going to try to play today, according to his wife
We knew the greens at Chambers Bay were bumpy, but we didn't realize they were THAT bad:
yeah, I'd take Ryan palmers opinion over Jack's any day... ???
I understand your point and Jack's fully. However, that doesn't stop it from being bad. Ryan Palmer's right.
just look at the background of the golf .com set. It looks dryer than Greg Norman's mouth on the 16th at Augusta
Henrik Stenson said putting on the greens @ Chambers is like putting on broccoli. That's weird
It would be easier if Fox showed some too
"It is impossible for a single fan to follow a single golfer through 18 holes."
Chambers Bay is stunning. It's also absolutely the worst place for fans to see golf
Well of course the score at the end is what matters. I think you're harping on his 6 too much. He hates the hole as a 4.

Agnee, DJ (Dustin Johnson) in die moeilikheid... 'Johnson's leave a six-month cocaine ban' "US golfer Dustin Johnson, who announced on Thursday he was ending his season immediately for personal reasons, is actually serving a six-month PGA Tour suspension after testing positive for cocaine, Golf.com reported on Friday. The website, citing an unnamed source, said Johnson has failed three drug tests, one for marijuana in 2009 and two for cocaine in 2012 and this year. The report says Johnson was previously suspended for the 2012 positive but the ban was never made public. The PGA Tour's drug test policy does not require any disciplinary actions against players who test positive for recreational drugs be announced. Johnson played at Doral in 2012 and then did not play again for 11 weeks until the Memorial in late May, saying at the time he hurt his back lifting a jet ski. But the website's source says Johnson was actually serving a ban for his first positive cocaine test. In his statement on Thursday, Johnson ...

Report: Tiger Woods could cost the golf industry $15 billion Wait, can this be true? Is Tiger Woods really worth $15 billion to the golf industry? According to Golf.com's Josh Sens that number is in the ballpark. Sens wrote a piece on how Woods' absence is affecting the sport (something we've looked at on Eye on Golf, as well) and will do so in the near future. "According to Brad Adgate, senior vice president and director of research for Horizon Media, a New York-based media services company, the 25-30 percent ratings drop we're accustomed to seeing at Tiger-free events threatens to translate into similar percentage losses across the board." "Adgate and other analysts say it's impossible to a put a precise price tag on Tiger's absence. But if we do the math and arrive at a ballpark number in a golf industry valued at around $68.8 billion, it pencils out at roughly $15 billion. Gulp!" I don't know where this math comes from (though the $68.8 billion is a 2011 number) -- Sens doesn't explicitly lay it out - ...

Analyst Brandel Chamblee appeared on 'Golf Central' Wednesday to discuss comments he made in a Golf.com article assessing Tiger Woods' 2013 season.
Brandel Chamblee Out Of Bounds The two week long controversy between Brandel Chamblee and Tiger Woods continues to gather momentum, what’s next? As many of our avid golfers are aware, Brandel, a regular analyst on Golf Channel posted an article the week of October 15th on Golf.com, that was written for SI PLUS, a Sports Illustrated owned website. The article featured Brandel’s “year-end” ratings / scoring for 14 of the world’s best golfers. The most noticed grading came with Chamblee’s rating of Tiger Woods, giving the ranked golfer in the world, winner of five tour events, PGA Tour Player of the Year, and winner of the lowest scoring average of the year a grade of F. It was prefaced with a score of 100, and crossed out to then show the FAILURE. Not sure what planet Brandel is (or was) on when he wrote the article, but his additional comments are what led to the ongoing affair. Brandel continued his piece with a reference that Tiger’s season had been tarnished by rules issues at Abu Dhabi .. ...

Analyst firm on opinion of Tiger's 'cheating' - Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee says he insinuated that Tiger Woods cheated and gave the world's No. 1 player an "F" for his five-win season in a column he wrote for Golf.com because "ethics matter more than athletics."
Chamblee is standing by his comments. “I’m paid to have and give an opinion, and I work hard to form those opinions based upon facts, not agenda,” he said via Golf.com. “I don’t always get it right but I’m always trying to get it right. And I know the people I work for know that.”
Mitchelstown Golf Club. Michael Shinnick tames the elements. Over the duration of last weekend it was great to see such a large turnout from our members and visitors alike, especially as we had a new sponsor, Kane Architects from Glanworth sponsoring the competition. Unfortunately our luck of having the good weather on our side eventually ran out. With the appalling weather causing havoc not only to the course but also to the weekends low scoring. But we all played the same course and in the same conditions over the entire weekend. As usual numerous players rose to the top after mastering the tough conditions. Michael Shinnick was the eventual winner of this year’s Kane Architects Open Singles with a very impressive score of 39pts off a handicap of eleven. Well played Michael and keep up the good golf! In second place was a very fitting prize winner Luigi Martino, this is Luigi’s first appearance in the prizes, but I’m sure he will go one better soon and win his first ever competition within our cl ...

Eagle, five pointer secures narrow victory. Mitchelstown Golf Club. Friends Mitchelstown G.C. Open Singles 11th /12th/ 13th October. Michael Bane returns to winning ways. Last weekend saw an 18 Hole Open Singles competition, which was very kindly sponsored by a new sponsor to the club, called Friends of Mitchelstown Golf Club. This competition was very well supported over the duration of the weekend. Even though we had some bad weather over the last couple of weeks, a decision of pick and place on the fairways was taken as the ball was beginning to pick up a bit of mud. Once again a very tough but fair course was set up by our course committee. This decision to pick and place on the fairways provided some very good scoring over the weekend. It was fantastic to see so many golfers playing in tee shirts, especially in mid October. Michael Bane was to return to winning ways after being absent from the winners enclosure for some time now. He returned a superb score of 41pts playing off a handicap of 11. This ...

Junior Adult Scramble a huge success. Mitchelstown Golf Club. Last Sunday brought down the curtain on another brilliant year for juvenile golf in Mitchelstown. We all gathered 60 in total to play the eagerly anticipated Junior/Adult scramble. With juveniles ranging from 5 years of age up to 16, and adults ranging from mid 20s to 85, we kicked off. The older of the Juveniles headed off first in the company of some adults as they were playing 11 holes, followed by the younger juveniles who were playing 5 holes. While some lovely golf was played more importantly the sound of laughter and every one enjoying themselves rang loudest around the golf course. Once everyone was underway it was time to get the BBQ fired up as there would be loads of hungry mouths to feed upon their return. The Vice Captain Micheal rose to the occasion and spent hours serving burgers to all participants on the day. Ladies get your golf on!!! Via learnvest daily: It’s a cliché to imagine old white men golfing while deciding matters of global importance, but there may be something to it: Sports Illustrated’s Golf.com notes that golf is “the martini lunch of the modern workforce” and one source says, “Think of it as a six-hour sales call.” As The Economist points out, golf is perfect for business because you only spend a small portion of the long game hitting the ball, leaving lots of time for chitchat.
