Phil Jackson has found his man to coach the New York Knicks and that man is former Oklahoma City Thunder Point Guard Derek Fisher. Phil Jackson had been all over Fisher as that became his second choice to coach the Knicks once Steve Kerr turned down the job and landed in Golden State as coach of the Warriors. Derek Fishers deal is for 5 years and $25 Million dollars to coach the New York Knicks. Fisher had a remarkable playing career playing 18 seasons in the NBA and playing for 5 NBA teams. Those teams were the LA Lakers (13 seasons), Oklahoma City Thunder (3 seasons), Golden State Warriors (2 seasons), Utah Jazz (1 season) and Dallis Mavericks (1 season). Derek Fisher won 5 NBA Championships during his time with the LA Lakers a team coached by current Knicks president of basketball operations Phil Jackson. (2000-02,2009-10 Lakers) Off the court Fisher was a former president of the NBA players union. Some leading candidates to join Fishers staff included former Lakers and Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis, ...

Good morning, y'all! Today is the debut of the NBA regular season. There are 30 teams reaching for that one prestigious goal: the NBA championship! Out of 30 teams, 12 of the teams have African American head coaches. They are Jason Kidd of the Brooklyn Nets, Mike Brown of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brian Shaw of the Denver Nuggets, Maurice Cheeks of the Detroit Pistons, Mark Jackson of the Golden State Warriors, Doc Rivers of the Los Angeles Clippers, Larry Drew of the Milwaukee Bucks, Monty Williams of the New Orleans Pelicans, Mike Woodson of the New York Knicks, Jacque Vaughn of the Orlando Magic, Dwane Casey of the Toronto Raptors, and Tyrone Corbin of the Utah Jazz. Only Doc Rivers has a ring when he won the title in 2008 when he coached the Boston Celtics while Jason Kidd is the only coach who won a title as a player when he did it in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks. Brian Shaw finally got a head coaching job that was long overdue. Since he was in the shadow of legendary coach Phil Jackson, he should b ...
Salt City Hoops’ Andy Larson talks Randy Foye to ESPN.com, the Denver Nuggets have finalized a three-team deal that will send Andre Iguodala to the Golden State Warriors in a sign-and-trade for a $9 million trade exception. Additionally, Denver will receive free agent shooting guard Randy Foye from the Utah Jazz, who took back draft picks as well as Richard Jefferson, Andres Biedrins and Brandon Rush — all of whom possess expiring contracts — from the Warriors. From the Nuggets’ standpoint, Foye will bring much-needed outside shooting to Denver, as he ranked seventh last season in the NBA in 3-pointers made with 178 on a 41 percent clip from beyond the arc. But aside from his long-distance shooting prowess, not much else is known about the journeyman combo guard; therefore, RMC reached out to fellow TrueHoop blogger Andy Larson of Salt City Hoops.com to learn more about the newest addition to the Denver Nuggets. 1. Randy Foye started 72 games last season for the Jazz, the most in his seven-year ca ...
I was listening to Bill Laimbeer interviewed on sports talk radio and I remembered how much I didn't like that guy, but would love to have him on my team. A lot of times we don't think we can come up with 10 great Caucasian NBA players to make a formidable team, but I got a list of 12 that can play in this order: 12) Kevin Love (F/C Minnesota T-Wolves) : Career just starting. Great future. 11) Drazen Petrovic (G - New Jersey Nets) : Great shooter 10) Steve Nash (G - Mavs, Suns, Lakers) : 2 Time MVP. Liability on defense. 9) John Stockton (G - Utah Jazz) : NBA All time leader in assists. 8) Rick Barry (F - Golden State Warriors) : Great scorer. Lead Warriors to NBA title. 7) "Pistol" Pete Maravich (G - N.O./Utah Jazz, Hawks): Pro career not as great as college 6) Chris Mullin (F - Warriors & Pacers) : Great shooter. Dream Teamer. 5) Bill Walton (C - Blazers, Clippers, Celtics) : Great early career. Injury marred thereafter. Extremely annoying 4) Dirk Nowitki (F - Dallas Mavericks) : 7 foot deadly shooter. ...
Top Pick 5: LOSER Utah Jazz vs Golden State Warriors go with Over 200.0 make picks free:
Scramble in the West! While the Eastern Conference's Final 8 is almost clearly pictured now, the rankings in the West isn't that clear yet. The top 5 of the West is almost locked-in within those 5 spots while the 6th to 8th spots are still up for grabs. The teams that are still trying their best to land on those precious 3 spots are as follows: 1. Golden State Warriors - currently at number 6 2. Houston Rockets - currently at 7th 3. Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz - currently TIED at the 8th spot with 33-31 Win-Loss records. 4. Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trailblazers - currently TIED at the 10th spot with 29-33 W-L records. The Warriors are 2 full games ahead of the Lakers and the Jazz while the Rockets are .5 game ahead as well. The mavericks cannot be counted out yet since they are making a run for that 8th spot, winning 3 straight games. The Trailblazers can also make a run but they are currently in a see-saw mode, winning some and losing some games. Who will make the cut? Hmmm. We'll find out come ...
The Celtics defeated the Utah Jazz last night 110-107 in yet another overtime game. The captain Paul Pierce led the way with 26, 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Bradley stepped up big time on the offensive end with 18, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Lee stepped up as well with 14, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Bass is another guy that stepped up on the offensive end with 15 points, going 7-7 from the free throw line. KG had 13 and 9 boards. Jason Terry led the bench with 14. Green had 6. Wilcox had 2. Crawford had 2. The Celtics have a below average road trip going 2-3. The C's have a staggering 10-18 record on the road. If they want to make a deep run in the playoffs (which they certainly can because the Eastern Conference doesn't have a legitimate championship contender aside from Miami and Chicago with a healthy Derrick Rose), they are going to have to fix their road woes. The Celtics will return home to take on the Golden State Warriors this Friday. Tipoff is at 7:30. On Comcast Sportsnet and WEEI radio. C's!
: Notebook: Jazz 115, Warriors 101: THE FACTS: Gordon Hayward returned just in time for the Utah Jazz to make one last push to keep their current team together. Al Jefferson, the subject of constant trade rumors leading up to Thursday's trade deadline, had 24 points. Hayward added 17 points to lead the Jazz to a 115-101 wire-to-wire win over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.

THIS DAY IN NBA HISTORY December 29, 1999 The late Wilt Chamberlain became the first player to have his number retired by three teams when the Golden State Warriors retired his jersey at halftime of their game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The No. 13 jersey was presented to Barbara Lewis and Yvonne Chamberlain, Wilt's sisters, and Oliver Chamberlain, his brother. Chamberlain's number had already been retired by the Philadelphia 76ers, where he was part of the 1967 NBA championship team, and the Los Angeles Lakers, where he was part of the 1972 title team. Chamberlain spent six years with the Warriors organization, averaging 41.5 points and 25.1 rebounds in 429 games. December 29, 2001 Don Nelson became the third coach in league annals to win 1,000 games as his Dallas Mavericks defeated Atlanta 113-97, and Jerry Sloan became the 10th coach in NBA lore to win 800 games when his Utah Jazz downed Philadelphia 89-81. Nelson joined Lenny Wilkens and Pat Riley in the 1,000-victory club. -Redick

I chose the Golden State Warriors to win against the Utah Jazz on the Sports Picks App. Prove me wrong.
We have a total of nine games tonight guys and only one will be nationally televised. NBA TV apparently thinks the game between the Suns and the Blazers is the most interesting game tonight, gotta say I couldn't disagree more. I would rather see the Bulls at Hawks game or the Lakers at Warriors game but that's just me. Anyways, here are the game schedules for tonight: Detroit Pistons at Washington Wizards at 7:00 ET Chicago Bulls at Atlanta Hawks at 7:00 ET Utah Jazz at Miami Heat at 7:30 ET Indiana Pacers at New Orleans Hornets at 8:00 ET Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets at 8:00 ET Cleveland Cavs at Milwaukee Bucks at 8:30 ET Charlotte Bobcats at Denver Nuggets at 9:00 ET Phoenix Suns at Portland Trail Blazers at 10:30 ET (NBA TV) LA Lakers at Golden State Warriors at 10:30 ET
At least for now, the lowly Golden State Warriors remains perfect in two National Basketball Association preseason starts after pulverizing the Los Angeles Lakers by 27 markers last Monday, followed by an 83-80 win over the Utah Jazz the next day.
The Golden State were about to make another championship run in 2007. Then, everything changed when the Utah Jazz attacked.
Bogut went from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Golden State Warriors. Marvin Williams went from the Atlanta Hawks to the Utah Jazz.
What team did the Chicago Bulls play, when Michael Jordan got sick with the flu? And what year did it take place? A) Phoenix Suns/1993 B) Denver Nuggets/ 1990 C) Utah Jazz/1997 D) Golden State Warriors/ 1996
Utah Jazz, Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Knicks are all teams rumored to be.
Taeyeon is wearing a Utah Jazz jacket possibly sporting an Andrei Kirilenko jersey underneath. lol Tiffany is wearing a Blake Griffin Clippers Jersey :). Would have prefer Taeyeon wearing the Clippers Jersey than Tiffany. Jessica is wearing a Pacers shirt, I would assume she'd wear a Warriors shirt. They sort off have the same colorway anyway Sooyoung seems to be wearing a Golden State Warriors jersey underneath that jacket. Could also be a Lakers away Jersey. I can't tell Yuri is obviously wearing a NY Knicks tank top lol Sunny is wearing a Kobe jersey… … … … Why? Yoona is probably the only one not wearing NBA apparel lol. Although it does have the Chicago Bulls colorway. Whoever chose the attires for these ladies, is probably a Boston Celtics fan. A Paul Pierce jersey on the far right and a Celtics tank top on the far left.
