All NBA-First Team Released The NBA has released their All-NBA First Team, and this year's team is highlighted by MVP Kevin Durant. Durant was the lone unanimous member of the team, as he averaged an NBA-high 32.0 points per game along with 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. This is Durant's fifth All-NBA First Team appearance in just his seventh NBA season. Miami Heat forward Lebron James made his eighth All-NBA First Team, but was not a unanimous selection, receiving 124 out of 125 votes. Los Angeles Clippers Point Guard Chris Paul earned his fourth All NBA-First Team after leading the NBA in assists with 10.3 per game. Houston Rockets guard James Harden made the First Team for the first time in his career as did Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah. The Second-Team All-NBA team selections were San Antonio Spurs Point Guard Tony Parker, Golden State Warriors' guard Stephen Curry, Los Angeles Clippers' forward Blake Griffin, Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard, and Minnesota Timberwovles forward Kevin L ...
NBA playoffs get started today and I think we have some solid first round matchups. East: Indiana Pacers over Atlanta Hawks in 7 Miami Heat over Charlotte Bobcats in 5 Toronto Raptors over Brooklyn Nets in 7 Washington Wizards over Chicago Bulls in 6 West: San Antonio Spurs over Dallas Mavericks in 5 Oklahoma City Thunder over Memphis Grizzlies in 6 Los Angeles Clippers over Golden State Warriors in 7 Houston Rockets over Portland Trailblazers in 5

AROUND THE ASSOCIATION: Some huge performances in the NBA on Friday night! Corey Brewer went off for the Minnesota Timberwolves scoring 51 points with 6 steals while his teammate Gorgui Dieng boasted 20 rebounds with 12 points and 2 blocks. Against the LA Lakers Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors with a triple-double scoring 30 points with 12 assists and 10 rebounds. In Chicago, The Detroit Pistons big man Andre Drummond scored 26 points to go along with 26 rebounds in a loss to the Chicago Bulls. Finally, in San Antonio, despite Eric Bledsoe coming an assist shy of a triple double for the Phoenix Suns, the San Antonio Spurs were the victors behind 33 points including 7 three-pointers by Danny Green.
Since I was not able to regain another win from our 1-1 standings, I offer all my deepest congratulations to you Micmic Alejaga for succesfully beating my Golden State Warriors in a double-streak triumph with your San Antonio Spurs during our 'Championship Game'. Though our game was on a 'close-fight', I know now who plays the better. With all my respect, I really salute your Kahwi Leonard for bringing over the madness of San Antonio knocking-down corner scores and posterizing my players in their own home at the Oracle Arena, scoring 47 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. My Stephen Curry, who fell short with 38 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists, was taught more how to be prudent in shooting threes. Knowing that the Warriors' armor isn't enough to deflect those sharp Spurs of yours, I will not anymore force myself even with my very best to challenge your team again. I decided to resign my career as being a 'Hall of Famer' gameplayer, for me to take some rest. To say it once more, I congratulate you Bol. You ...

NBA update. All four Aussie NBA players teams had big matches yesterday with Patty Mills and Aron Baynes Western Conference leading San Antonio Spurs (31 win - 8 lose) hosting their main conference rivals Portland Trailblazers (29-9). The Blazers proved too good on the day winning 109-100 with Mills getting 9 points 1 rebound 1 assist and Baynes sitting the game out. Andrew Bogut and his Golden State Warriors (25-15) travelled to Oklahoma City to take on the Chiefs (29-10) and were defeated 127-121 with Bogut playing just 21:40 for his 8 points and 5 rebounds. Matt Dellavedova sat out the Cleveland Cavaliers (14-25) shock win at Denver Nuggets (20-18) 117-109. The Warriors travel to New Orleans to tackle the Pelicans (15-23) today. The Spurs 31-9 heads the Western Conference from Portland 30-9 and Oklahoma 30-10 with the Warriors 25-16 in 6th. The eastern conference is headed by Indiana Pacers 31-7, Miami Heat 28-11 and Toronto Raptors 20-18 with the Cavs 15-25 in 10th.
A lot of NBA action tonight starting off with the San Antonio Spurs and later we have the Denver Nuggets and the Golden State Warriors. But thank god for Blind Pig NYC can night - $3 Flying Dog Brewery cans, $3 Stevens Point Brewery cans and $3 Blue Moon cans!
Patty Mills and Aaron Baynes both got a start for the San Antonio Spurs as they take on fellow Boomer, Andrew Bogut's Golden State Warriors. Who wins this game?
The San Antonio Spurs will be without Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker when they play at the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.
San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker is expected to miss Thursday's game against the Golden State Warriors due to injury.
Happy 50th Birthday to Mario Elie (The Junkyard Dog). Mario was a 3-time NBA champion with the Houston Rockets (1994, 1995) and San Antonio Spurs (1999). Mario is known for his ''Kiss of Death'' 3-point shot in Game 7 of the 1995 Western Conference Semifinals against Charles Barkley (Sir Charles), Kevin Johnson (KJ), Dan Majerle and the Phoenix Suns. Mario Elie went to the same high school (Power Memorial High School) as Hall of Famers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Chris Mullin. Mario was an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets. Mario is married to ABC Channel 13 Houston anchor Gina Gaston and they have 10-year old triplets, 2 boys and 1 girl.
Important Years For Dirk, Aldridge, Love The middle of the Western Conference might be the most interesting storyline of the regular season. Six teams -- the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors -- seem to have separated themselves from the pack, leaving only two playoff spots available. A postseason appearance is particularly important for the Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves, three franchises trying to keep an All-Star power forward in town. Barring injuries to a top team, there won't be lifeboats for all of them. Dirk Nowitzki, LaMarcus Aldridge and Kevin Love are too good to be annually missing the playoffs. Last season, injuries were the culprit for Nowitzki and Love, as their teams fell apart without them. Aldridge, meanwhile, was a good soldier on a team bringing along two lottery picks. As they move closer to the end of their contracts, the stakes are getting higher. With All- ...
Oklahoma City Thunder: Oklahoma City Thunder have been the best in the home and away season, although crumbling in the finals. If Oklahoma City Thunder make it to the conference finals, can they defeat the likes of San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets or Golden State Warriors? If they get that far are they a match for the Miami Heat or the Indiana Pacers? Roster is as followed; Point Guard: Russel Westbrook / Derek Fisher / Reggie Jackson Shooting Guard: Thabo Sefolosha / Jeremy Lamb Small Forward: Kevin Durant / Perry Jones / Ryan Gomes Power Forward: Serge Ibaka / Nick Collison Centre: Kendrick Perkins / Daniel Orton / Steven Adams / Hasheem Thabeet Russel Westbrook suffered knee injuries in the playoffs last season and that could be why Oklahoma City Thunder were eliminated. Derek Fisher only has one more season left in him although Reggie Jackson looks to be a promising youngster. Trading James Harden for Jeremy Lamb was a bad idea, as in my opinion Thabo Sefolosha just isn’t the future of shooting gu ...
makes watching "San Antonio Spurs at Golden State Warriors" even more entertaining!.
Former Ohio guard D.J. Cooper will participate in his second NBA pre-draft workout with the Golden State Warriors on Monday, June 17. Cooper’s agent Mike Naiditch confirmed to WOUB Sports that his client will be working out for the Warriors, whose backup Point Guard Jarrett Jack enters free agency this offseason. Jack was the fourth-leading scorer on the Warriors last season, but Golden State might pass on resigning the 29-year-old in favor of a younger, cheaper backup Point Guard. The Warriors have a solid core of young players that is led by Stephen Curry. They made an impressive run in the NBA playoffs before losing to the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Semifinals. Golden State does not own any draft picks in the 2013 NBA Draft, but has been holding workouts for players that are expected to go late in the second round or undrafted
After 82 games of playoff posturing and three physically grueling rounds of postseason hoops, the 2013 NBA Finals stage is set. In one corner stand the mighty Miami Heat, winners of a league-best 66 games in the regular season and thus the team rewarded with home-court advantage. Miami needed seven games to dispose of the pesky Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals, but they carried an otherwise largely unblemished playoff record through the first two rounds. On the opposite end lie the San Antonio Spurs, a battle-tested group that largely skated free of major media attention before dismantling a trio of playoff competitors. San Antonio has been idle since completing its four-game sweep of the Memphis Grizzlies on May 27. This veteran squad has suffered just two playoff losses (both to the Golden State Warriors) in 14 games. But enough on how these teams got here; it's time to focus on the factors that will determine which club will hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy when the final buzzer has sounde ...

Golden State Warriors' season ends with loss to San Antonio Spurs
A lot of the time you hear NBA analysts quibble over who the greatest player of a certain generation is. What makes this difficult is determining the generations themselves. I think, because players are typically in their prime for about 5-7 years, the generations are best broken up into half-decades. That means when people talk about who the best player is in the late-90's generation, there are really five names that are worth mentioning: Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, and Dirk Nowitzki. I think those five players are undoubtedly the best of their generation. However, and this was even debated last night on ESPN by Jalen Rose, Bill Simmons, and Michael Wilbon, who is the best? Most people tend to go back-and-forth between Duncan and Kobe. However, anyone who watched the San Antonio Spurs eliminate the Golden State Warriors last night saw the Spurs play the last 5 minutes with Duncan on the bench. Gregg Popovich felt that the Spurs were better off with Tiago Splitter down the stret ...
San Antonio Spurs Win!! I'm not going to mention the names of any Haters, Like Yolanda Alvarado, Greg Paige, Cindy Wallace, Sharon Kyle O'Neal, Niosha Shawtybad Mitchell or Rey Navarro!! Golden State Warriors are going fishing with Kobe Bryant!!
Will the San Antonio Spurs close out tonight's series against the Golden State Warriors? On a side note, I think it's funny how Laker fans become Warrior fans, and Warrior fans become Grizzly fans. lol
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Forgive the San Antonio Spurs if they aren't that excited about holding a 3-2 series lead over the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals. After all, they've been ahead twice before. If the Spurs want to close out the Warriors in Game 6 on Thursday night at rowdy Oracle Arena, they'll have to do what neither team has in this series: win consecutive games. Golden State also is 4-0 after a loss in the playoffs. "Nobody talks about getting this over with like you've got a rash,'' Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "Like you can take a pill or put some cream on it, it's going to be gone. This is a war. They're a class team. They bust their (butts) at both ends of the floor. It's not about getting rid of anything. It's about going and playing and that's about it.'' San Antonio has increasingly shown its veteran savvy the last three games, and Golden State has looked like it's finally wearing down from all its injuries. Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and the rest of the Spurs o ...

predictions: West Semis: MemphisGrizzlies over OKC Thunder in 7. San Antonio Spurs over Golden State Warriors in 7.
WEST: [1] OKC Thunder vs Memphis Grizzlies. I give the Grizzlies the edge due to Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol's domination on the paint. I don't think Serge Ibaka's shot-blocking prowess is enough to contain either. Thunder's other big man, Kendrick Perkins, is all intense looks, less production (defense or offense). Yet still, there's no one in OKC's roster who could make up for Russell Westbrook's absence. Kevin Martin is a shooter, not a playmaker. Memphis' Mike Conley will control the series, no doubt. Doesn't matter if Kevin Durant scores 30+ each time out... It's a team game and the Grizz, with no legit superstar, have proven that time and again. [2] San Antonio Spurs vs Golden State Warriors. On account of their proven cohesiveness and playoff experience, the Spurs—starring (its less hyped, much ignored but most effective trio of) Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili and an able batch of back-ups—will dominate this series. The Warriors may escape with one (or two) win but even if David Lee ...

The Golden State Warriors finish off a five game eastern conference road trip undefeated at 5-0, finishing the trip by knocking off the Miami Heat 97-95. The Warriors are now 15-7 and are doing all this without their star center, Andrew Bogut. PG Steph Curry is having an MVP worthy season and David Lee is back to playing the way he did when he was with the Knicks, averaging 18.8 PPG and 11.2 RPG. The Warriors are in fifth place in the Western Conference and are only three games back of the seeded San Antonio Spurs. Time to take this team serious as a playoff contender folks.
