The San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors extended their respective winning streaks in NBA on Sunday.Defending champions Spurs won their seventh consecutive game after disposing of the Boston Celtics 111-89 at TD Garden. The return of coach Gregg Popovich, who missed two games due to an undisclosed medical procedure, proved timely. Popovich's Spurs trailed 49-45 at half-time after they were outscored by seven points in the second quarter. But the Celtics had no answer for the Spurs in the final two periods, with the San Antonio franchise outscoring the hosts 66-40 in Boston. The Spurs (12-4) had five players with five double-digit points - Daniel Green (18 points), Boris Diaw (15 points), Tim Duncan (14 points), Aron Baynes (13 points) and Kawhi Leonard (12 points). Jeff Green (16 points) led the way for the Celtics, who crashed to a fourth consecutive defeat. The Grizzlies (15-2) remain in control of the Western Conference thanks to a 97-85 road win against the Sacramento Kings. ...
Resurrecting my post from a year ago: I offer the following list of professional sports team names that should also be changed, just to keep things fair. If I entered into the college realm this would turn into a book. * Detroit Pistons: How can anyone name their team after a key component of evil carbon-burning machines? * Golden State Warriors: Promoting violence, mocking native Americans. * Houston Rockets: NASA is dead, and rockets kill people. * Miami Heat: Don’t promote global warming!!! Al Roker might blame them for Superstorm Sandy. * Philadelphia 76ers: Why promote terrorist revolutionaries? * Sacramento Kings: Promotes the 1%. The fix? Change the name to Obamas. * Kansas City Chiefs: Obviously hateful, chief. * Cleveland Browns: That’s just racist. You might as well call them the Cleveland You People. * Oakland Raiders: More violence. * Minnesota Vikings: They pillaged and burned. Bad role model. * Tampa Bay Buccaneers: More stealing and violence. * San Francisco 49ers: Promoting gold-diggin ...
Apparently the Golden State Warriors learned nothing from the Sacramento Kings. Quality coaching in the NBA is very rare. To have your star (Curry) to buy in and trust his coach is huge. The Sacramento Kings fired Rick Adelman and they haven't even seen the playoffs since then. Just sad that grown men in the front office can't get along.

The evening of Friday, January 24 was a historic one in the NBA. In New York, Carmelo Anthony set a franchise record with 62 points against the Charlotte Bobcats. In Houston, Chandler Parsons set an NBA record with 10 three-pointers in a half against the Memphis Grizzlies. Indiana Pacers star Paul George didn't set any records in Sacramento, but he did hit the shot of the night—a four-point play to send the Pacers to overtime, where they triumphed over the Sacramento Kings, 116-111. In Oakland, the Minnesota Timberwolves finally won a close game, 121-120, over the Golden State Warriors.

Happy 50th Birthday to Mario Elie (The Junkyard Dog). Mario was a 3-time NBA champion with the Houston Rockets (1994, 1995) and San Antonio Spurs (1999). Mario is known for his ''Kiss of Death'' 3-point shot in Game 7 of the 1995 Western Conference Semifinals against Charles Barkley (Sir Charles), Kevin Johnson (KJ), Dan Majerle and the Phoenix Suns. Mario Elie went to the same high school (Power Memorial High School) as Hall of Famers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Chris Mullin. Mario was an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets. Mario is married to ABC Channel 13 Houston anchor Gina Gaston and they have 10-year old triplets, 2 boys and 1 girl.
Iguodala lifts Warriors past Thunder, 116 Calif. (AP) -- Andre Iguodala made a baseline fadeaway as time expired to lift the Golden State Warriors to a thrilling 116-115 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night. Russell Westbrook's 3-pointer with 2.3 seconds remaining put the Thunder ahead after they trailed by 14 points early in the fourth quarter. Warriors coach Mark Jackson called a timeout to regroup, and David Lee inbounded the ball from near half court. Iguodala caught the ball and extended over Thabo Sefolosha for the winning shot, sending the announced sellout crowd of 19,596 into a frenzy. He sprinted toward half court and was mobbed by teammates. Iguodala finished with 14 points and nine assists. Golden State trailed for just 23 seconds combined in its first three home games. The Warriors held a lead in each game - against the Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons - of at least 27 points and won by double digits. Not on this night. The game started with an outp ...
We've got CSKA Moscow vs Minnesota Timberwolves live at 8am followed by the Sacramento Kings vs Golden State Warriors game at 1030am, live!
After watching SA-Miami last night, I think that we as so-called NBA Fans need to chill-out on the word "Bandwagon FANS". I get sick & tired of so-called NBA fans saying "Heat Fans are Bandwagon Fans!" Ok. That's fine. That might be true, but if, for example, LBJ, Wade & another superstar (Bosh or someone else) went to the Golden State Warriors, would the term "Warriors Fans are bandwagon fans?" Laker Fans are in that category as well. Would that apply to the Sacramento Kings? If, for example, Chris Paul, ADIVA HOWARD (Dwight) and Blake Griffin, play for the LA Clippers, then aren't you a "Clipper Bandwagon Fan"? If they played for Charlotte, would the fans across the country say "Too many Hornet Bandwagon Fans"? If they joined up in Cleveland, they would say: *** are these 3 doing in this crap city of Cleveland"? Nevertheless, haters would say "Too many Cavalier bandwagon fans", Needless to say, THE ANSWER IS YES! So for those of us who choose to root for the Heat just b/c LBJ is on the team is pretty .. ...
If the Sacramento Kings go to Seattle, Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors. Play some Home games in Sacramento!
Happy 40th Birthday to Chris Webber (C-Webb). Chris was a member of University of Michigan's The Fab Five from 1991 to 1993 that went to back-to-back National Championship games in 1992 and 1993 and lost to Duke and North Carolina respectively. 4 of the 5 members of the Fab Five (Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jalen Rose and Jimmy King) went on to play in the NBA, Ray Jackson never played in the NBA. The Fab Five introduced the long baggy shorts and black socks, bringing the hip hop culture and style to college basketball in the early '90s. Chris is remembered for the timeout that wasn't in the 1993 National Championship game against North Carolina and being indicted in the Ed Martin booster scandal. Chris was the overall pick in the 1993 NBA Draft, 1994 NBA Rookie of the Year with the Golden State Warriors, NBA All-Rookie 1st Team (1994), 5-time NBA All-Star with the Washington Bullets/Wizards and Sacramento Kings (1997, 2000-2003), 1st Team All-NBA (2001), 2nd Team All-NBA (1999, 2002-2003), 3rd Team All-N ...

LMAO @ them "Golden State Warriors fans" former Sacramento Kings fans in the Chris Webber era, they are like if they won the championship just because they defeated the Spurs in over time __ it's just a game fools this is regular season the Spurs are already thinking in the playoffs while you guys still fighting to finish between the first 8 __ I wish my Spurs can play them fools either in first or second round just to send them back to reality __ ask the Jazz and the Clippers what happened to them last year, it's a matter of fact I have my broom ready for another sweep at first and second round.

Two teams moving in opposite directions...literally: :-) 7. Golden State Warriors (25-15, previous ranking: seventh): The Warriors ended a skid in which they lost five of six games with victories against New Orleans and the Clippers. Golden State took the season series 3-1 against the Pacific Division-leading Clippers. 22. Sacramento Kings (16-26, previous ranking: 23rd): After the Kings depart to Seattle, the Warriors will own Northern California and more as they will be shown on television from Fresno through the Bay Area through Sacramento and all the way up to Lake Tahoe, Nev., next season.
Notebook: Kings 131, Warriors 127 - THE FACTS: It felt like turn-back-the-clock night at Sleep Train Arena Wednesday night as the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings slugged it out like Don Nelson was running both benches. In the end, the home team prevailed, coming away with the wild 131-127 victory in front of an incredibly entertained crowd.

Sacramento Kings shared the following link and had this to say about it: WATCH: Highlights from tonight's preseason matchup with the Golden State Warriors. On a scale of 1-10, what would you rate James Johnson's throwdown on Carl Landry? from Kings vs. Warriors preseason game on Oct. 17, 2012 at Sleep Train Arena.
In what will be a preview of the Sacramento Kings home opener, the Golden State Warriors come to town in search of trying to gain a leg up on their neighbors to the north, before the real battles began.
Hold up, wheres Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) or Julius Erving in 2k13? How you not gonna have the greatest bigman of all time and arguably the best player ever. Hate when they have a good idea in the previous game then lose it and messed thing up by not adding it again for the new one. So they replace both legends with the 90-91 Golden State Warriors and the 01-02 Sacramento Kings (No Chris Webber?) what was they thinking. Best thing the did was add Allen Iverson but that still ain't enough, i want Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
I got tickets to tomorrows Kings game, i dont think im gonna make it. Sacramento Kings vs Golden State Warriors 20.00 bucks. Kings are playing really well.

Spartan Center Kyle O'Quinn Selected by Orlando Magic in 2nd Round of NBA Draft 6/28/2012 11:40:00 PM NORFOLK, Va. – Some three months after helping Norfolk State play “Cinderella” in the NCAA Tournament, Spartan center Kyle O’Quinn had another chapter in his own Cinderella story written Thursday night when the Orlando Magic selected him in the second round of the NBA Draft. O’Quinn, who was the 49th overall pick in Thursday’s draft, is NSU’s first NBA draftee since Lee Johnson was taken in the third round of the 1988 draft by the Detroit Pistons. O’Quinn is also the first draftee from a MEAC school since Florida A&M center Jerome James was a second-round selection of the Sacramento Kings in 1998. “This is the ultimate blessing that I’ve been hoping for a long time would come,” O’Quinn said. “I want to thank my coaches at NSU for taking a chance on me and getting me to this point. I’m excited to be a member of the Magic.” “We are extremely proud of Kyle and what he accompli ...
Do i dare Say. Sacramento Kings will have a better record than the Golden State Warriors X/ oh MAn. i smell drama in the air
Back in March of the 2011-12 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors were looking to possible claim former Sacramento Kings forward J.J. Hickson. Assuming that they could bring in Hickson for the rest of the season for a cheap price, the Portland Trail Blazers instead claimed his services for the rest...
"Taking my advice of Buying Low and Selling High, I am very pleased the Golden State Warriors are in serious talks yet again with Big Man J.J. Hickson (yes, the same J.J. who the Cleveland Cavaliers wouldn't trade for Amar'e Stoudemire year's ago) after losing out on him last year when the Portland Trail Blazers stepped in and claimed him before he cleared waivers from his release from the Sacramento Kings. Even though I like Big Man David Lee, he needs somebody to toughen him up, compete with him for his starting power forward spot and take some of the burden of him from playing so many minutes at center (when the Warriors play small ball). Speaking of players team's foolishly wouldn't trade for Amar'e, the Warriors have decided not offer Stephen Curry an extension since he has ankle sprain issues the last two years. Initially I liked that but then I thought, hey the Warriors are still trying to trade for the best center in the NBA, Dwight Howard, even though he just said he only wants to go to the Br ...
