Wish England had Brazil's manager policy & got trapped in a cycle of appointing & re-appointing Terry Venables, Glenn Hoddle & Bryan Robson.
I watched three young lads having a kick about earlier. It made me think back to my own youth always kicking a ball about with the lads. Back then we were always being Bryan Robson, Gary Lineker, John Barnes, Peter Beardsley, Chris Waddle, Glenn Hoddle or of course the ultimate Gazza. Basically any English football star and there were many to pick from. Soon we had Shearer, Sheringham, Pearce and such. However these lads were Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo. Not once did they claim to be an English player. And that says a *** of a lot about where we rank these days
Ok, just for a bit of fun, here's my England team, made up of players from past to present, which I think would give most teams a run for their money, join in with yours if you want. My formation would be 4-1-3-2. GK- Gordon Banks DEF- *** Mills, Tony Adams, Bobby Moore, Ashley Cole MID- Nobby Stiles MID- Paul Gascoigne, Bryan Robson, Matt le Tissier STR- Jimmy Greaves, Gary Lineker SUBS- Peter Shilton, David Seaman, Paul Parker, John Terry, Glenn Hoddle, Trevor Brooking, Tony Currie, Dave Thomas, Bobby Charlton, Michael Owen, Kevin Keegan and Roger Hunt. 23 man squad. Manager, has to be Alf Ramsey.

says, "During the heydays of BIG LEAGUE SOCCER, I used to support ‘Spurs’ because of players like Ray Clemence, Glenn Hoddle, Ossie Ardiles & Steve Archibald and even ‘The Saints’ because of Kevin Keegan… until the 1st of October 1981, when Manchester United signed Bryan Robson from ‘The Baggies’. Have a great BPL weekend."
last England game I watched from start to finish , Chris Waddle, Glenn Hoddle, Gary Lineker and the gorgeous Bryan Robson were playing , I hardly know any of the players running around on the pitch tonight !!
Nail on head mate, English squads have been built on huff & puff for years. The Bryan Robson or Glenn Hoddle argument
I'd go completely out of the box. Bryan Robson, Terry Butcher or Glenn Hoddle (again) just for the Euro's.
