George Robert Stephanopoulos (born February 10, 1961) is an American television journalist and a former political advisor.

George Stephanopoulos goes one-on-one with U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. Plus, we speak with 2016 GOP frontrunner Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Sunday on “This Week.” And the powerhouse roundtable debates all the week’s politics, including the resignation…
Michael Strahan will now be on Good Morning America. Producers of the show troubled by the big gap in his teeth, plan on filling it with co-anchor George Stephanopoulos.
GMA now has a foosball table. Or as George Stephanopoulos calls it: "Regular Size Soccer Table."
Notable Quote: Russia’s ambassador to the United States this morning had a sharp retort when asked about President Obama’s comments that Russia is a “regional power acting out of weakness.” “If you consider Russia ‘a regional power,’” he said, “look at our region — it is from Europe to Asia.” President Vladimir Putin has talked up a Eurasioan Union as his anti-Western alternative to the European Union, and close advisers to Putin believe in a certain Eurasian ideology. When ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked the ambassador whether Russia would consider pulling back from Crimea as a condition of a diplomatic solution, he wasn’t taken too seriously either: “What kind of from Crimea are you talking about?” Ambassador Kislyak said. “We are talking about territory of Russian Federation [sic].” Bottom line, Obama is detached from reality and simply doesn't "get it".
Gotta take a toll. Show is increasingly slap-happy, candy-coated, w/ George Stephanopoulos more & more square peg in round hole.
If George Stephanopoulos leaves GMA anytime soon, maybe I should put in my application to be the next GREEK anchor at the desk.

For the third week in a row there were NO DEATHS IN AFGHANISTAN reported by the Pentagon!!! Praise the Lord! Via "This Week With George Stephanopoulos" that honors the fallen each week by giving the name, age, branch of service, rank and hometown. I'm so grateful he does this every week and wish more journalists did so.
"For the third week in a row the military has reported no service member deaths in Afghanistan." - George Stephanopoulos on "This Week" - My best thing so far this weekend.
Mom's and my morning activity is investigating the lives of talking heads and reporters. And the odd politician. On the docket: 1) is David Muir handsome? (decidedly yes) 2) is David Muir single? (maybe) 3) is David Muir *** (Prolly) 4) does David Muir need a wife named me? (Yup). 5) DID GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS JUST SAY NUT GRAPH? (Uh ... I think so??) 6) is Chris Christie a *** (Yes) 7) How. Is Diane Sawyer. Almost 70!? (Science cannot explain it. She is a super hot gramma). 8) will I ever look as good in red as Donna Brazile? (Nope. Don't even try).
The largest act of public dissent in American history is happening now. In less than 120 hours what is presently a passive resistance will officially become the largest violation of federal law in our nation’s history. Although the regime announced yet another deadline extension for the three dozen states that are operating federal health-care exchanges on Tuesday evening, this only delays the inevitable scenario that is anticipated in the coming months. We’ve all heard about the countless ways in which Obamacare will destroy what’s left of the America that our founders envisioned, what is not being widely discussed however is the potential fallout associated Obamacare’s failures in regard to the relationship between the American people and the ruling class in D.C. So let’s connect some dots. Obamacare is a tax We all remember how the Supreme Court ruled that Obamacare is legal, in the courts opinion, because it is a tax. Early on, much of the political establishment initially tried to deny the ...
I just got this in my e-mail, thought it was worth passing along WHERE ARE THE OBAMA GIRLFRIENDS? Think about this e-mail and see if there's anything here you don't believe! I hadn't thought about this - but where are Obama's past girlfriends Surely he had at least one? No past girl friends popping up anywhere? Strange - strange to the point of being downright weird! OK, this is just plain old common sense, no political agendas for either side. Just common knowledge for citizens of a country, especially American citizens, who know every little tidbit about every other president (and their wives) that even know that Andrew Jackson's wife smoked a corn cob pipe and was accused of adultery, or that Lincoln never went to school or Kennedy wore a back brace, or Truman played the piano. We are Americans! Our media vets these things out! We are known for our humanitarian interests and caring for our 'fellow man.' We care, but none of us know one single humanizing fact about the history of our own president. Hone ...
Does anybody know who Barry Soetoro is or was? That was President Barack Obama's name when he was a child. I may not agree with all his ideas or agendas, but the Bible says we are to pray for him. 1 Timothy Chapter 2 verse 1. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2. For kings, and [for] all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3. For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; I am not sure how he became President because by his own admission he was born in Kenya. That right there is the first problem that should of had him impeached years ago since you must be born in America. I could go on, but this is not what I'm trying to say here. I just want people to be aware of things that have occurred or that are going to happen in the future because of B.O. and B.O. stinks (body odor) lol... I wouldn't be surprised that we see martial law h ...

"Can you imagine what the media coverage would look like if Phelps had been a Republican? Do you think the DNC or the White House would have not painted all Republicans with the Fred Phelps brush? Do you think NBC-CNN-ABC-CBS-NPR-MSNBC would have not called Phelps a “former Republican candidate?” Do you think that for a second? Do you think that George Stephanopoulos, the man who set up the silly War on Women meme for the White House, would not have asked Mitt Romney: “Governor, how do you explain the Republican Party’s acceptance of Fred Phelps and Westbro Baptist Church?” Do you think for a second that Jon Stewart would not have asked … “I bet you can’t guess what party Phelps belongs to! I will give you a hint …. it’s not the Green Party” and then flashed the word Republican all over the screen..." -

Inter-marriage links between the main stream media and the current administration: "If you’re keeping score, the President of CBS News has a brother who works in the White House. The President of ABC News, Ben Sherwood, has a sister, Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, who is Special Assistant to the President of the United States. ABC News’ senior national correspondent, Claire Shipman is married to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney. NPR’s White House correspondent, Ari Shapiro, is married to a member of the White House counsel’s staff. Vice-President Biden’s communications director is married to a Wall Street Journal political correspondent. CNN deputy bureau chief, Virginia Moseley is married to Tom Nides, who works for Hillary Clinton. If she runs for president, her retinue will likely consist of a former Clinton State Department Spokesman, James Rubin*, who is married to reporter Christiane Amanpour, and of course good old George Stephanopoulos is keeping busy at ABC News."

Why in the world would Face the Nation and This Week with George Stephanopoulos have NC Governor Pat McCrory on their shows today and not take the perfect opportunity to ask him about how NC is being strangled by Civitas and the Koch brothers since he took office? How could they not bring up Duke Energy's coal ash spill in the Dan.River especially since McCrory worked for Duke for 28 years? Instead they only asked about last week's snowfall which gave him the perfect opening to brag about how wonderful everything is here. And conservatives think our media is liberal. Yeah, right. Tell me another one.

LETTERS AT BOTTOM OF ARTICLE! NBC Frets Over 'Brutal' Attack on Hillary From 'Anti-Clinton' Website By Matt Hadro | February 10, 2014 | 20:54 7586 145 Reddit1 1 A A Instead of treating Hillary Clinton as a possible presidential candidate who must be vetted, NBC framed her as a sympathetic victim of a "brutal" and personal attack on Monday's Nightly News. Andrea Mitchell bemoaned that "inflammatory excerpts" of "once-private papers" of Clinton's close friend were published an "anti-Clinton website" -- the conservative news site Washington Free Beacon. Would NBC say that an "anti-Cruz" website attacked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) if he faced a similar report? [Video below the break. Audio here.] We should note that the author of "The Hillary Papers," Alana Goodman of the Free Beacon, spent some time with us at NewsBusters and MRC's Culture and Media Institute. Anchor Brian Williams teased the report as an opportunity for an ugly GOP ambush: "Still ahead for us tonight, the private lives of Bill and Hillary Cl .. ...
Leading the News Obama Administration announces latest delay to employer mandate. News that the Obama Administration partially delayed, for a second time, the Affordable Care Act’s employer mandate received heavy coverage across media: all three network broadcasts reported, and several major newspapers carried the announcement on their front pages. On the CBS Evening News (2/10, story 5, 1:20, Pelley), Major Garrett reported that the Obama Administration said Monday businesses with between 50 and 99 employees will get “an extra year to comply” with the ACA’s requirement to provide coverage to its workers. Moreover, businesses with over 100 employees will have to cover “just 70 percent of their full-time employees next year instead of the 95 percent previously required.” With these delays, the full employer mandate is not scheduled to kick in until 2016. Many reports also emphasize that this is the latest in a series of delays for the law. George Stephanopoulos, in a brief segment for ABC World ...
Petraeus: Hillary Clinton “Would Make A Tremendous President” Because Of …Er… Benghazi?… What the *** is he smoking? In the new book HRC, by The Hill’s Aimee Parnes and Bloomberg’s Jonathan Allen, General David Petraeus praised Hillary Clinton as a potential president, specifically citing what many consider her biggest obstacle as a candidate: her role as Secretary of State overseeing the American compound in Benghazi when it was attacked in 2012. “She’d make a tremendous president,” Petraeus said. “Like a lot of great leaders, her most impressive qualities were most visible during tough times. In the wake of the Benghazi attacks, for example, she was extraordinarily resolute, determined, and controlled.” On This Week With George Stephanopoulos, Jon Karl brought this up to Representative Tom Cole (R-OK) and asked if it “took the wind out of the sails” of Benghazi as an anti-Hillary talking point. “Oh, I don’t think so,” Cole said. “It was a debacle. It was on her watch ...

Happy B-Day to some of the wonderful people on Planet Earth! Your BirthdayScope for Feb 10:Happy Birthday, Aquarius! Your greatest source of power is within YOU – not in anyone or anything else. Because you are so curious and eager to get results, you may be less conscious of your own unique qualities and gifts than you are of others. Like a racehorse straining to get out of the starting gate, you have a burning desire to reach a destination ahead of everyone. What you’ll do when you get there is anyone’s guess – but your need to be first makes your engine run a little hotter and faster. This sets you up for anxiety, tension headaches, heart palpitations, and even depression. You cannot stand feeling trapped, controlled or limited. In fact, you’d rather die than be held hostage. The freedom to express yourself and move about without any form of restraint makes life worth living. Some may label you ‘bull-headed’ and relentless in your pursuit of a desired goal. If others try to dissuade you f ...

While watching This Week With George Stephanopoulos a report was done on heroin. It's amazing how it's now a crisis because it's affecting the higher socio-economical classes and people like Phillip Hoffman. But this is not new, America responded the same way with prescription drugs, alcohol, marijuana, cocaine and other substances. Folks, it's a DISEASE that affects ALL. No one is immune and ALL need helpful support. Thank GOD for A.A., N.A. and C.A.

Tomorrow morning (Sunday, Feb. 9) I'll be on ABC News's "This Week w/George Stephanopoulos" (except not w/George Stephanopoulos) talking w/ Dr. Richard Besser and Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin about heroin, addiction, recovery, and relapse. (I think title for the segment is "Heroin: America's latest epidemic.) It's supposed to air at ~ 40 minutes past the hour.
On a recent episode of This Week, George Stephanopoulos was talking with DNC vice chairwoman Donna Brazile, when she said: “I don’t think you can create two classes of citizens in this society, one with legal status and the right to vote, and one without.” The Left has a long track record of lying about their intentions. Recently, they have lied about Obamacare, claiming it was meant to give the poor an opportunity at healthcare. We all know there are numerous ways by which the healthcare industry can be fixed without a massive government takeover, but that’s the point. The Left doesn’t care about the poor, they want bigger government. They think it is for the betterment of man that we be under the loving care of a monstrous matriarchal government. Every effort made by the Left at legislation is designed to push our country toward their ultimate goal: a Marxist paradise. Most of the country doesn’t want to live in soviet Russia, so the Left must disguise their policy as something good and love ...

Didn't think it was my imagination. BIAS ya think? In the first 24 hours after the traffic scandal involving Chris Christie broke, the “major” networks gave it 17 times more coverage than they’ve given to Barack Obama’s IRS scandal over the last six months. ABC, CBS and NBC devoted 34 minutes and 28 seconds of coverage to “Bridgegate” in 24 hours – compared to two minutes and eight seconds to the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups in six months. Good Morning America‘s George Stephanopoulos pounced on the developing Christie story first thing Thursday morning, opening GMA by trumpeting: “Chris Christie in crisis. Sen Rand Paul Appears on This Week with George Stephanopoulos - January ...: via RT
WHAT ENEMY? The silliness of it all. I turn on the TV or cable - Yup! Nothing to watch. I long ago gave up on ABC's Good Morning America, with George Stephanopoulos wasting his time on entertainment trash talk. I lower the volume of the female screech team on NBC's Today Show since the classy Ann Curry left. She wasn't fired, NBC's news team downgraded themselves. There's always David Gregory pummeling, stampeding his way over smarter minds than his. I'm a news junkie, I want the latest and newest high jinks of the world. As long as I have Amy Goodman to *** any flatulent government talking head and unstupify Murdoch's seduction of the multitudes. But blimey folks… what grabs me, just plain astonishes me, creeps me out - is the every present news hawking theme "Let's Kill the Enemy." Let's get all our forces (pay later of course), our beloved principles, and have it smartly caroled by right wing demagogues, for a war on our enemies. What enemy? We bash our brains out on the gridiron. Come home fro ...

Diane Sawyer Vetoes George Stephanopoulos As Her Replacement On ‘World News’… If And When She Leaves Posted on Dec 5, 2013 @ 3:55AM | By Jen Heger-Assistant Managing Editor Even though Diane Sawyer doesn’t have any immediate plans to retire from anchoring ABC’s World News, the respected journalist has been telling network executives that she doesn’t want George Stephanopoulos to get the gig, and has instead suggested the next anchor be David Muir, who already anchors the weekend edition, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting. “Diane has been telling her bosses in the news division at ABC that George would be a terrible replacement for her when the time comes for her to hang it up. She doesn’t think viewers in primetime like his interviewing style, and the tone of his delivery. He can come across as very condescending,” a network source told Radar. “The only suitable replacement in Diane’s opinion is David Muir. They are very close friends, and Diane has taken David under her wing, ...
Later on This Week, host George Stephanopoulos continued the conversation with a roundtable of pundits -- including the dueling husband-and-wife team of liberal James Carville and conservative Mary Matalin. Offered Carville: "Can I just make one jaw-dropping point? This week it came out, a UC Berkeley study said …one-third of all bank tellers (are) on public assistance. This is bank tellers. These are people that have a level of skill." Carville went on to say Congress should pass a law that mandates private-sector companies offer a living wage to their employees if they are part of a government bailout or profitable. "Salaries for bank tellers nationwide are so low that 31 percent of bank tellers and their family members are enrolled in some type of public assistance program," the committee cites in its report. That public assistance takes many forms. The grand total is nearly $900 million, with Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program accounting for over half. Food stamps, the Earned Inc ...

Bad news and good news. The bad news is Walker will be on This Week with George Stephanopoulos this morning. The GOOD news is that George sent his camera crew to Madison last week and they got brief interviews of folks in the rotunda - who just happened to be ready to talk about the citizens book "Unintimidated" and how horrible Walker is and so on. So if you tune in this morning, you might just see some normal human beings from Wisconsin on the show - - but you know how these things go. They might get 1 minute and that's it. ABC, CBS Acknowledge Obama's 'Broken Promise,' But Knock Americans' 'Sub-Par Insurance' ABC and CBS on Thursday and Friday reacted to Barack Obama's health care apology by acknowledging his "broken promise." At the same time, both networks attempted to spin the NBC interview with qualifiers on the millions of Americans who will be losing their health insurance. After explaining what the President originally insisted and then showing his apology, CBS Evening News Anchor Scott Pelley justified, "The plans are being canceled because they don't meet the minimum standards of the President's health insurance law. "That's something that was always in the legislation." Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos opened the program on Friday by announcing, "Broken promise". The President says he's sorry." Jon Karl noted that the apology is "for the millions of Americans who have received cancellation notices from their insurance companies, despite [Obama's] repeated promise over and over again that nobody would l ...

Virginia Moseley was the senior Washington producer at ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Now Moseley is moving on to CNN to become their deputy bureau chief in DC. You're probably thinking who gives a *** right? Moseley just so happens to be married to Obama’s Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, Thomas R. Nides. Former Bill Clinton hack and current ABC propagandist George Stephanopoulos works with ABC News reporter Claire Shipman who’s married to White House Spokesboy Jay Carney. On a drive through South Hampton during my recent camp outing on a Montauk beach, I noticed four or five drive through cigarette stores housed in tractor trailer-like boxes juxtaposed cramped commuters in a Long Island Railroad car. The rectangular tin can stores stuck out like a black eye on the pretty face of Rosanna Scotto in what may be the Western world’s ritziest neighborhood. Reservation, I guessed, and not the “table for two” kind. Not coincidentally, to be sure, less than a mile down the road, I saw a bumper sticker that read, “If you own property in the Hamptons, Thank a Shinnecock.” Ah. The Shinnecock Indian Nation. An eight hundred acre reservation enclave of South Hampton. Cognitive dissonance overcame me. Hadn’t I just passed the Shinnecock Country Club? Yes, I had, which purportedly sits on tribal burial grounds. This morning, George Stephanopoulos rallied his troops around the Washington Redskins mascot debate. Shouldn’t the name change? The consensus was IF THEY’RE (read . ...

The White House Blasts Ted Cruz's Charge That The US Would Be 'Al-Qaeda's Air Force' In Syria BRETT LOGIURATO SEP. 8, 2013, 6:16 PM 3,502 15 ABC Of all the criticisms leveled at White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough Sunday in a tour of the morning shows, one seemed to bug him most — Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-Texas) charge that U.S. forces in Syria would be aiding al-Qaida. Cruz told the conservative website The Blaze last week that the U.S. shouldn't get involved in Syria because it doesn't "have a dog in the fight," and it risks helping rebel forces aligned with terrorist groups. "We should be focused on defending the United States of America," Cruz said. "That’s why young men and women sign up to join the military — not to, as you know, serve as Al Qaeda’s air force." It was a suggestion to which McDonough took umbrage when asked by ABC's George Stephanopoulos. "I am outraged for somebody to suggest that our people would be serving as allies to al-Qaida, one," McDonough said on ABC's "This Week." ...

Legal analysis: How strong is the government’s case against Snowden? Paul Campos Is Edward Snowden a hero or a criminal? Phrasing the debate over Snowden’s actions in this way, as ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos did earlier this week, obscures the possibility that he may well be both things at once. Given his own description of his behavior, there is little doubt Snowden is guilty of the crimes with which the government has now charged him: theft of government property, unauthorized communication of national defense information, and willful communication of classified communications intelligence information to an unauthorized person. (As was reported this weekend, Snowden has left Hong Kong and is seeking asylum in another country via Russia). Writing in the Guardian, Glenn Greenwald argues that there is something perverse about charging Snowden with what, under federal law, is a violation of the Espionage Act: In what conceivable sense are Snowden’s actions “espionage”? He could have – bu . ...

George H.W. Bush doesn’t think we’ve had enough Bushes in the White House, Jeb says In an interview that aired on Sunday's “This Week with George Stephanopoulos," Jeb Bush, who served two terms as governor of Florida, was asked what his father thought about his potential candidacy. "What about your dad?" ABC's Jonathan Karl asked the former Florida governor. "Has he offered you any advice? Does he think you should run?" "I think we've got a split ballot amongst the Bush Sr. family," Jeb Bush, 60, said with a laugh. "Pretty sure that's the case." Jeb's brother, former President George W. Bush, has said he thinks Jeb should run for president. Jeb, considered among several early contenders for the Republican nomination in 2016, has not ruled out a run for the White House, but says he won't decide until at least 2014. "My thinking is not to think about it for a year," Jeb Bush said last month. "Life teaches you that you need to make decisions in the right time—not too early, not too late. ... I'll che ...

‘TRAITOR’: JOHN BOEHNER SIDES WITH OBAMA AND MAKES IT CLEAR WHAT HE THINKS ABOUT NSA WHISTLEBLOWER It would be NICE TO HEAR THESE WORDS when you talk about the PRESIDENT, John Boehner, because our president IS A TRAITOR and has repeatedly made GIGANTIC VIOLATIONS OF LAW and of our FOUNDING DOCUMENTS. “He’s a traitor.” That’s how Speaker of the House John Boehner describes NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, the man who blew the cover on the NSA’s phone-spying and Internet-tapping practices. Boehner made his thoughts clear in an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. But he didn’t stop at “traitor.” Boehner also went on to quote — and side with — the president who has said leaks put national security in jeopardy. “The president outlined last week that these are important national security programs to help keep Americans safe and give us tools to fight the terrorist threat that we face,” he said. “The disclosure of this information puts Americans at risk. Muslim Hussein Obama says they are not reading our FB postings, E mails or anything like that. Then how does He know who the bad guys are if He is just recording phone numbers and URL's. He may in fact be looking for the bad guys but I will bet He is also looking for blackmail information on politicians and powerful people in the private sector. One of the few things we all know about the Muslim President is that He learned his politics in Chicago arguably the most corrupt government in the country over the last 90 years. We know He is a liar, and we know He dislikes the Jews and Brits. These are facts that He has proven by his words and actions. We also know He is a Muslim because He said so during an interview with George Stephanopoulos.

Jason Collins said he has gotten "incredible" support since coming out as the first openly *** player in one of the four major U.S. pro sports leagues, and he hopes he may have made the path easier for others to follow. Collins sat down for an interview that was aired by ABC's "Good Morning America" on Tuesday, one day after the veteran NBA center revealed his sexuality in a first-person story posted on Sports Illustrated's website. "I think, I know, in my personal life, I'm ready, and I think the country is ready for supporting an openly *** basketball player," Collins told ABC's George Stephanopoulos. ABC aired the interview in two segments, with Stephanopoulos asking Collins in the second portion whether he hoped that other players would follow his example. "I hope that every player makes a decision that leads to their own happiness, whatever happiness that is in life," Collins responded. "I know that I, right now, am the happiest that I've ever been in my life." Collins said he went through something ...
