IS Obama Coup Proofing the military? The United States no longer has in command General Carter Hamm, Rear Admiral Charles Gaoutte, Major General Ralph Baker, Brigadier General Bryan Roberts, Major General Gregg Sturdevant, Major General Charles Gurganus, Lieutenant General David Holmes, Vice Admiral Tim Giardina, and Major General Michael Carry serving our country. And let us not forget General David Petraeus. That’s a lot of military hardware and experience inexplicably kicked into the gutter and an unprecedented number of “releases” given by any president. Moreover, what is behind the gutting and dismissing of these accomplished veterans? Why has this purge not been more widely reported? For those who keep track of historical factoids, The U.S. government was the target of a Coup in the 1930s. Led by Prescott Bush, father to former U.S. President George Herbert Walker Bush. It was General Smedley Butler who acting as a whistle blower, derailed the Coup d'état. Does anyone have a clue or care to . ...
General Smedley Butler, arguably America's most patriotic soldier. In the 1930s, the wealthy elite were getting frightened about President Roosevelt's policies of economic reform. They decided to do something about it. General Smedley Butler was selected by the most powerful Corporations in America, such as General Electric, to lead a force of a half-million men to overthrow the Government of the United States by force. Butler would then be a figurehead, controlling the United States on behalf of the corporations. This would mean the United States would join one of many Fascist countries such as Nazi Germany, Mussolini's Italy, Franco's Spain, and arguably Stalinist Russia. Smedley Butler pretended to go along with it, right up until the last moment. At that time, he spilled the beans on the conspirators. Roosevelt was well aware that America's wealthy elite just tried to kill him. Despite this, he never pursued prosecution against these men. Undoubtably, they threatened to pack up their businesses and th ...

"If only more of today's military personnel would realize that they are being used by the owning elite's as a publicly subsidized capitalist goon squad." The survival of America's democracy is not an automatic or sure thing. Americans need to remain vigilant against all enemies... both foreign and domestic. In the summer of 1933, shortly after Roosevelt's "First 100 Days," America's richest businessmen were in a panic. It was clear that Roosevelt intended to conduct a massive redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor. Roosevelt had to be stopped at all costs. The plotters approached Major General Smedley Butler with their proposal to lead the coup. The general revealed the details of the coup before the McCormack-Dickstein Committee, which would later become the notorious House Un-American Activities Committee. The Committee whitewashed the public version of its final report, deleting the names of businessmen whose reputations they sought to protect. Butler was not vindicated until 1967, when journalist John Spivak uncovered the Committee's internal report.
this was i932 :Retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler, one of the most popular military figures of the time, visited their camp to back the effort and encourage them. On July 28, U.S. Attorney General William D. Mitchell ordered the veterans removed from all government property. Washington police met with resistance, shots were fired and two veterans were wounded and later died. Veterans were also shot dead at other locations during the demonstration. President Herbert Hoover then ordered the army to clear the veterans' campsite. Army Chief of Staff General Douglas MacArthur commanded the infantry and cavalry supported by six tanks. The Bonus Army marchers with their wives and children were driven out, and their shelters and belongings burned. Not much different then today check out which party was in charge

"It has been estimated by statisticians and economists and researchers that [WW1] cost your Uncle Sam $52,000,000,000. Of this sum, $39,000,000,000 was expended in the actual war itself. This expenditure yielded $16,000,000,000 in profits. That is how the 21,000 billionaires and millionaires got that way. This $16,000,000,000 profits is not to be sneezed at. It is quite a tidy sum. And it went to a very few." From "War Is A Racket" By Major General Smedley Butler

She died shortly before World War Two. According to General Smedley Butler of "War is A Racket" fame, he would put her death even further back; to the time that First Nations peoples were murdered by "Home of the Brave and Land of the Slave." I guess I have to go with the General on that one.
The Fascist Plot to Overthrow the U. S. GovernmentIn 1933, Franklin Roosevelt deemed it beneficial to the American economy to abandon the gold standard and operate on a pure American currency basis. This had proven very helpful in Great Britain in lowering the cost of products and boosting the citizens’ buying power. Many conservative businessmen of the time deemed the gold standard essential for a strong economy, since gold does not devalue like a nominative currency.Major General Smedley Butler testified before a senate subcommittee a year later that he had been approached by Gerald MacGuire and William Doyle of the American Legion veterans’ organization. They confided in Butler whether he would have any part in a military coup d’etat to oust Roosevelt and set up a Fascist government with Butler as its head commander, Secretary of General Affairs. Their motive was money, of course, since they and their friends had their fingers in a lot of business pies.Butler was pro-Communist in light of what he ...
1930s to 1950s The American Legion Memorial Bridge in Traverse City, Michigan, was completed in 1930. The Sons of the American Legion formed at the American Legion's 14th National Convention in Portland, Oregon, on September 12–15, 1932. Membership is limited to the male descendants of members of the American Legion, or deceased individuals who served in the Armed Forces of the United States during times specified by the American Legion. In the spring of 1933, at the very beginning of his presidency, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt sought to balance the federal budget by sharp reductions in veterans benefits, which constituted one quarter of the federal budget. The Economy Act of 1933 cut disability pensions and established strict new guidelines for proving disabilities. The American Legion generally supported the FDR administration and the Act, while the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) was loudly opposed. After a VFW convention heard speeches denouncing FDR's programs, the American Legion invited Ro ...

Roosevelt and install a Fascist Dictatorship. They asked retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler to help with the coup but he instead testified to Congress about the plot. TIMELINES OF THE Great Depression: 1920's (Decade) During World War I, federal spending grows three times larger than tax collections. When the government cuts back spending to balance the budget in 1920, a severe recession results. However, the war economy invested heavily in the manufacturing sector, and the next decade will see an explosion of productivity... although only for certain sectors of the economy. An average of 600 banks fail each year. Organized labor declines throughout the decade. The United Mine Workers Union will see its membership fall from 500,000 in 1920 to 75,000 in 1928. The American Federation of Labor would fall from 5.1 million in 1920 to 3.4 million in 1929. Over the decade, about 1,200 mergers will swallow up more than 6,000 previously independent companies; by 1929, only 200 corporations will control over half of all American industry. By the end of the decade, the bottom 80 percent of all income-earners will be removed from the tax rolls completely. Taxes on the rich will fa ...

General Smedley Butler told us 80 years ago that war is a racket, designed to bloat private industry. Since at least the Civil War, it has always been a rich man's game and the poor man's bane. Eugene Debs once famously defined a bayonet as a weapon with a worker at either end. That, too, has not changed and never will.

The highest decorated Marine, General Smedley Butler who served 34 years and fought in five wars and was awarded the Marine Brevet Medal and TWO Congressional Medals of Honor heard that Italian fascist dictator, Benito Mussolini, ran down a little girl with his sports car and then said, "What is one life in the affairs of state". Gen. Butler criticized that attitude but for that the conservative Republican president Herbert Hoover, who led America into the Great Depression, ordered that he be court martialed and only backed down when he saw the enormous outrage by the public and America's veterans. He did work secretly to undermine Butler's desire to become Marine Commandant but Butler did succeed at heading up the training operation at Quantico, VA.
A story that every American should read and, one that reflects the character and integrity of a good man and, a soldier's soldier, a true 47er. General Smedley Butler. Salute!
A MUST READ E-Book by Harvey Ardman tells of the attempt by the Banksters led by JPMorgan, Tom Lamont, Irenee Dupont, Al Smith to overthrow Franklin Delano Roosevelt and install a Fascist Government similar to Italy and Germany. The most ever decorated soldier, General Smedley Butler and a tenacious NYPD Detective and young reporter exposed the plot to FDR. The NEW-DEAL and Social Security would never have been implemented if these reprobates had accomplished their Coup. You can find the book on Amazon: THE REVENGE OF THE PLUTOCRATS by Harvey Ardman.
Summary Of The Bush Crime Family* History For any civilized endeavor to maintain its civility, there must be enforceable laws and/or rules; without which, there is anarchy. So, as we find ourselves struggling to regain our lost freedoms, perhaps we should take a strategic review of how we arrived at this alarming state, honestly apprise our current status, and as we depart from yet another major election, cast about for viable options for now as well as the foreseeable future. Any objective observer with the barest awareness of contemporary history should be able to readily trace the rise of this powerful movement that has taken control of the reins of power in the United States. The most blatant initial historical record is when Grandpa Prescott Bush and some of his cronies tried to entice General Smedley Butler to muster enough World War I veterans to take over the Presidency of The United States in 1933. Then again, in 1942 (a year after the U.S. joined World War II), Prescott Bush and this same cabal ...

Is a Racket is the title of two works, a speech & a booklet, by retired USMC Major General Smedley D. Butler
From Andrew Rei This is my response to an online article citing the need to avoid another Roosevelt recession in response to the economy retraction last month... (Background: in 1937, FDR instituted an austerity program that sent the American economy into recession. The program cost the Democrats a significant number of seats in the 1938 midterms) While it's true that FDR got a little queasy about deficit-spending and started that austerity program in 1937 that cost the Democrats many seats in the 1938 midterms, you also have to remember that FDR had supermajorities in both Houses of Congress (75% Demo seats in the House and just 16 GOP Senators) as a result of the 1936 general elections. While President Obama wants to implement FDR-style stimulus measures, he doesn't have the Congressional "backup" that FDR did. That simple fact is what makes comparisons of the President and FDR slightly unrealistic. Don't get me wrong: the GOP HATED FDR with a passion...they even tried to launch an armed overthrow of hi ...

War Is A Racket, a great insight about war, by Major General Smedley Butler

O.K. this is just my opinion. I believe asking women to go to the front lines is immoral. Women serve couragously and honorably in the posts they are in now. After all most wars are started by arrogant men. It is bad enough to send our boy's into harms way, but that is why we are men. I believe this reasoning for allowing women into the front lines is there are not enough young men joining our Armed Forces . The most couragous man I know has always said " you wanna see who is a true Patroit and who isn't? Have a Draft!"
Watching a documentary about the harrowing mental and physical stress experienced by troops returning from Afghanistan. What a sickening thing to see people being subjected to this over a senseless war which has nothing to do with the 'terrorist threat' or protecting the UK and all to do with imperialist adventures of the ruling class (none of whom risk their lives). At the end of it who is responsible for their treatment? The underfunded NHS.
I still don't know why he didn't tell the bankers to *** off and expose them like General Smedley Butler did:
In 1934 General Smedley D. Butler went public after he was approached by Wall Street and offered up to 300 million dollars to lead an army of 500,00 veterans equipped with munitions from Remington Arms Company to Washington D.C., in order to overthrow the U.S. Government by force. The plot was investigated by the McCormack-Dickstein committee, which found General Butler to be telling the truth.(*) During his 35 years of service in the Marine Corps, General Butler received the Congressional Medal of Honor twice. The Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor against an enemy force, which can be given to an individual serving in the Armed Forces of the United States. Jules Archer's book, The Plot to Seize the White House, was written with the cooperation of senators, reporters, former Speaker of the House of Representatives John W. General Smedley Butler was the highest ranking US Marine during his career. After his retirement he had an epiphany were he came to understand his function as a soldier as largely directed by American financial interests in Big Business and banking. He became an outspoken critic of the way the US military is co-opted to enforce the economic preferences of Big Business. Now, some 75 years later, his work is becoming well known. His short little book is called "War is a Racket!" This is an example of "an idea whose time has come."

If you don't know who General Smedley Butler was then you really don't know who one of the greatest heroes this country has ever produced was. Did you know that he almost single handedly stopped the a military coup by the fascists?
The Business Plot: In 1933, group of wealthy businessmen that allegedly included the heads of Chase Bank, GM, Goodyear, Standard Oil, the DuPont family and Senator Prescott Bush tried to recruit Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler to lead a military coup against President FDR and install a fascist dictatorship in the United States. And yes, we’re talking about the same Prescott Bush who fathered one US President and grandfathered another one. Smedley Butler was both a patriot and a vocal FDR supporter. Apparently none of these criminal masterminds noticed that their prospective point man had actively stumped for FDR in 1932. Smedley spilled the beans to a congressional committee in 1934. Everyone he accused of being a conspirator vehemently denied it, and none of them were brought up on criminal charges. Still, the House McCormack-Dickstein Committee did at least acknowledge the existence of the conspiracy, which ended up never getting past the initial planning stages. Though many of the people ...

" They were put shoulder to shoulder, and through mass psychology, they were entirely changed. We used them for a couple of years and trained them to think nothing of killing or being killed."~ quote from the book ' War is a Racket' by Major General Smedley Butler
General Smedley Butler:"A third step in smashing the war racket is to make certain our military forces are truly forces for defense only."
The Military Industrial Complex the False Claims Act, which was enacted in 1863 to combat war profiteering during the Civil War.In my opinion failed & gave birth to the military industrial complex we (""don't see"") see today.Political figures taking bribes and favors from corporations involved with war production have been called war profiteers. Abraham Lincoln's first Secretary of War, Simon Cameron, was forced to resign in early 1862 after charges of corruption relating to war contracts. In 1947, Kentucky congressman Andrew J. May, Chairman of the powerful Committee on Military Affairs, was convicted for taking bribes in exchange for war contracts. Major General Smedley Butler, USMC, criticized war profiteering of U.S companies during World War I in War Is a Racket. He wrote about how some companies and corporations increase their earnings and profits by up to 1700% and how many companies willingly sold equipment and supplies to the U.S that had no relevant use in the war effort. In the book, Butler st ...

Why don't most people listen to those who were actually in on the creation of the Industrial/Military Complex and the mess it's caused when they come right out and TELL us the TRUTH about the ENTIRE situation?!?! Read Major General Smedley Butler's account of what's REALLY happened in our country.
In the 1960's, Mad Magazine printed a picture of President Johnson wearing a pin that said, "WAR IS A GOOD BUSINESS: INVEST YOUR SON". And a business it is, too. While defense of our country is important, it's not the politicians as much as the corporate leaders that enjoy the true spoils of war. Can you say "Halliburton". But war profiteering is nothing new. In 1933, during the depths of the Great Depression, Major General Smedley Butler (USMC) made a speech about war-time profiteering. This was 8 years before America was pulled into WWII and more than a decade after WWI. The numbers he cited back then may sound small, but remember, prices and profits were a lot different then. The $400 for each man, woman, and child in 1917 would equate to $6739.86 for every man woman and child today. If the average family were a couple with 2 children, each household would be responsible for $26,959.44 in today's market. And that was using WWI technology. Imagine what the cost of our recent military actions have been. ...
