This was Joe Biden's remarks a few months ago slamming Romney about saying Chrysler would be making jeeps in China. Turns out Romney was 100% Correct and Obama & Biden knew it at the time !!! WASHINGTON -- Vice President Joe Biden tore into Mitt Romney on Wednesday for running ads with a widely debunked claim about Chrysler and General Motors shipping American jobs to China, saying it calls into question the character of the Republican presidential nominee. During a campaign event in Sarasota, Fla., Biden called the latest ad one of the "most scurrilous" and "most flagrantly dishonest ads I can remember in my political career." The worst part, he said, is that the ad actually caused workers to call United Auto Workers and ask if it was true. "What a cynical, cynical thing to do," Biden said of Romney. The ads, which are being run on TV and on the radio, state that Chrysler and GM are shipping their jeep production overseas. A GM spokesman responded Tuesday with an unusually sharp rebuke, saying Romney has ...
This just in. Mitt Romney has sold General Motors to China so they can start making Chevy Volts in Italy!
romney and ohio DETROIT (AP) — Only a couple of weeks after Barack Obama won the presidency in 2008, the man who would become his Republican challenger in the next election penned a New York Times column with a fateful headline: "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt." Those four words would haunt Mitt Romney across the Rust Belt, where auto manufacturing remains an economic pillar — especially in Ohio, a state that every successful GOP presidential nominee has carried, and in his home state of Michigan, where his father was an auto executive and governor. Romney's opposition to the federal rescue of General Motors and Chrysler didn't necessarily seal his fate in those two crucial states. But no other issue hung in the background for so long. And nothing that Romney tried — his many visits, the millions spent on ads, his efforts to explain and refine his position — could overcome it. "The biggest determining factor was that we couldn't handle the automobile bailout issue," said Bob Bennett, chairman of the Ohio ...

The plastics company was owned by Bain Capital, the firm co-founded by Mitt Romney. In other words, Romney, who has written against auto industry ...
When the presidential candidates are calling each other liars or something close to that, that's hardly new -- but a major American corporation all but calling a presidential candidate a liar, when did that happen before? Never mind happen twice. In one week. Widespread coverage of the story of the Chrysler Corporation's flat contradiction of Mitt Romney's campaign assertions, followed by General Motors doing the same, suggests that such sharp corporate responses are unprecedented. Certainly the relationship of these corporations to the Republican Party are far removed from the time when one of President Eisenhower's cabinet members said that "for years I thought what was good for the country was good for General Motors and vice versa" (although the urban legend version has him saying "what's good for General Motors is good for America"). The catalyst for these sharp corporate reactions came on October 25, in Defiance, Ohio, when Mitt Romney told a campaign rally: "I saw a story today that one of the ...
Chrysler refutes Romney claim of jobs moving to China 4 hr ago| By KASIE HUNT Chrysler CEO says Jeep production is staying put, but the Romney campaign stands by its ads. TAMPA, Fla. — Mitt Romney's presidential campaign is challenging criticism from U.S. automakers over campaign ads that claim General Motors and Chrysler are adding jobs in China at the expense of Ohio. Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said Wednesday, quote: "Their comments don't refute anything in our ad." Romney ads on TV and radio repeat a version of a claim Romney made in a campaign speech last week: that Chrysler is moving Jeep production to China. The ads are airing in Toledo, where the auto industry employs thousands. On Tuesday, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne emailed employees to restate that, quote, "Jeep production will not be moved from the United States to China." General Motors, mentioned in a Romney radio ad, released a statement calling the campaign "some parallel universe."
Please tell me this isnt true. The Benghazi debacle may yet make Mitt Romney president. Barely 10 days before the election, the persistent whiff of scandal surrounding Barack Obama exploded into the banner headlines of a cover-up – at least among certain press outlets. Everything changed Friday afternoon with the stunning revelations by Fox News that CIA operatives defending the embattled consulate in Benghazi, Libya, called three times for emergency assistance while the attack was in progress. Each time, they were shamefully turned down. One of those defenders, Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, was apparently able to use a laser designator to pin-point the location of the mortar that eventually killed him. It would have been an easy shot for American pilots had any been ordered to respond. Another new and critical detail: An American drone was overhead transmitting live video of the battle scene below. Only days before, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton airily dismissed new revelations of incriminating emails, ...

Faced with the hard facts that “Bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive,” as Vice President Biden always says, Mitt Romney has resorted to claiming that Obama followed his lead on the auto industry bailout. “I know [Obama] keeps saying, you wanted to take Detroit bankrupt,” he said during this week’s debate at Hofstra University. “Well, the president took Detroit bankrupt.” Romney’s right, in a way — both his plan and Obama’s plan envisioned the auto companies going through a period of bankruptcy restructuring. But there’s a key difference: Obama’s approach was to use government dollars to prop up the auto companies until they could stand on their own again — something that Romney, like other Republicans in the Tea Party’s anti-spending thrall, adamantly opposed as dangerous government intervention in private industry. But it turns out that Romney should know firsthand that this kind of intervention can be successful, as a new report shows that he and his wife made at lea ...
Delusions About the Detroit Bailout By STEVEN RATTNER WHEN Mitt Romney takes the podium at Ford Field in Detroit today, he's likely to include yet another sharp denunciation of the government's rescue of General Motors and Chrysler. That Mr. Romney would traverse Michigan trashing a program that saved tens of thousands of jobs at the Detroit-based automakers doesn't necessarily mean he's politically tone-deaf. February 24, 2012, Friday
Monday night is the final presidential debate and it’s on foreign policy. Given the dead heat between the two candidates, a strong showing in this debate could well determine who wins the election. Romney has already acquitted himself on the economic issues. He’s made that sale. But Romney still has to convince the American people he can keep them safe in an increasingly dangerous world. And that depends on which Mitt Romney shows up Monday night – the George W. Bush Romney, or the Ronald Reagan Romney. We already know which Barack Obama will show up: Obama-the-Usama-Slayer. He will try to wrap Romney in the tattered flag of George W. Bush and accuse him of trying to get us into another Middle East war. A few weeks ago that looked like enough for Obama to win the debate and coast to victory in November. “General Motors is alive, and Bin Laden is dead” was proclaimed at the Democratic Convention. The September 11th massacre in Benghazi changed all that, and people are now taking a second look at ...
Joe Biden is right about the auto bailout. There was a President who bucked a public outraged about the Wall Street bailout, and loud criticisms from within his own party, to make an unpopular decision that ended up saving tens of thousand of jobs and putting Detroit on the road to recovery. Biden, in his rousing campaign speech in Toledo, Ohio, on Thursday, was also right about Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich when he criticized them for refusing to support the auto bailout back in 2008 and 2009. In putting dogma and electoral calculus before the national interest, the Republican candidates acted like craven politicians rather than national leaders. At the end of 2008, General Motors and Chrysler were bleeding billions of dollars a month, and nobody in the private sector wanted to lend to them. Even the supposedly liberal Brookings Institution put out a report saying they should be allowed to go bust, with their factories and machinery being sold off to the highest bidder. Today, things look ...

I’ll be speaking at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church tomorrow night at 8:00—at 7:00. And then on Saturday, we’re traveling through California. Check tour.democracynow.org. But right now, we turn to a major new exposé on the cover of The Nation magazine called "Mitt Romney’s Bailout Bonanza: How He Made Millions from the Rescue of Detroit." Investigative reporter Greg Palast reveals how Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney made at least $15 million on the auto bailout and that three of Romney’s top donors made more than $4 billion for their hedge funds from the bailout. Palast filed this report for Democracy Now! Greg Palast: Detroit, Motown, Motor City. In 2009, the auto industry’s collapse and bailouts filled the news. MARK CARLSON: General Motors, the Detroit stalwart, once the world’s largest corporation, died today. NEIL CAV ...
The Romneys Made Millions Off The Auto Rescue Mitt Opposed October 18th, 2012 3:57 pm Mitt Romney has an amazing ability to make a profit on anything. He can make millions when a company goes bankrupt, reap huge returns off the 9/11 tragedies and profit from getting high schoolers hooked on tobacco. But his greatest trick off all was raking in millions from the auto rescue he opposed. In a stunning exposé published Thursday in the The Nation – with support from The Investigative Fund — reporter Greg Palast reveals how key donors to Romney’s campaign made more than a billion dollars off the restructuring of General Motors by holding a key player in the supply chain hostage to their demands during the heart of America’s worst jobs crisis in 50 years. Delphi Automotive is an auto parts maker that used to be part of General Motors and remains essential for auto production. Without Delphi, there would be no American automotive industry. And unfortunately for America, it ended up being controlled by El ...
Bill Clinton and Bruce Springsteen hosted a rally in Parma, a mostly-white blue-collar suburb of Cleveland where General Motors is the top employer and union members sometimes vote Republican. "This is the first time in my life I got to be the warm up act for Bruce Springsteen," Clinton joked to a crowd of roughly 3,000 supporters at Cuyahoga County Community College. "I am qualified because I was born in the U.S.A. And unlike one of the candidates for president I keep all my money here." A succession of similarly plainspoken takedowns of Mitt Romney followed, as Clinton outlined the choice between Obama and his Republican challenger in trademark fashion. Clinton said the decline from 8.9% unemployment in October 2011 to the 7.8% jobless rate today is "the biggest one year drop in unemployment in 17 years." "Obama says press ahead," Clinton said. "Romney says walk away."

How did your plan for saving GM differ from Mitt Romney's plan to save the auto industry? 5. Mr. Obama. "Economy: We have to give Raddatz props for asking Biden why White House projections of unemployment under 6 percent were so wrong, but Biden immediately defaulted to blaming Bush. He then berated Mitt Romney for wanting to "let Detroit go bankrupt," in contrast to the administration, which "rescued General Motors." What he neglected to mention was that Detroit did go bankrupt -- the White House just made sure the unions came out okay. Biden then proceeded to the usual leftist class warfare, accusing Republicans of holding the middle class "hostage" to tax cuts "for the super wealthy." Yet tax policy should be about growth, not "fair shares" and "economic patriotism," as Barack Obama put it last week. As Ryan noted, "The economy is barely limping along. It's growing at 1.3 percent. That's slower than it grew last year and last year was slower than the year before." The Romney/Ryan tax cut plan -- a 20 percent cut across the board with reforms to deductions and credits -- is first and foremost a pro-growth ...
An Obama campaign ad attacks Bain Capital & Mitt Romney for outsourcing jobs by investing in ONE Chinese company named Global Tech. But who is the real outsourcer of U.S. Jobs ??? Look no further than Barack Obama and the Auto Industry he boasts of saving. We need to look no further than General Motors’ own figures to learn that GM OUTSOURCES ALMOST TWO-THIRDS of its jobs overseas. LESS THAN ONE IN FIVE GM vehicles are manufactured in the United States. To be exact: GM’s December 31, 2011 annual report shows General Motors of North America accounting for 98,000 of the 207,000 GM jobs worldwide. But 12,000 of these jobs are in Canada and 11,500 are in Mexico. Accordingly, GM has 74,500 jobs in the United States and 122,500 abroad, even after Obama’s touted surge in Detroit jobs. Almost two thirds of GM’s jobs are in other countries. GM’s outsourcing is not a slip. GM clearly states that foreign investment and outsourcing of jobs are an integral parts of its growth strategy. If Romney & Bain ...
A bailed out General Motors expanded its small truck and SUV manufacturing in China soon after closing down similar facilities in Janesville, Wisconsin—the plant Barack Obama pledged to save and keep open for “another hundred years” in 2008. GM has increased its manufacturing capacity in China by 55 percent since emerging from bankruptcy thanks to a $50 billion bailout from taxpayers. An important piece of that increased capacity has taken place in Changchun, Jilin Province in China. On August 30, 2009, GM entered into a “50-50 joint venture” with China FAW Group Corp., one of China’s largest automakers. GM’s cash influx helped boost FAW’s efforts to expand its light duty commercial vehicles and SUV manufacturing. The partnership sold more than 88,000 vehicles in 2010. The move came four months after GM shuttered its Janesville plant, which built SUVs like the Chevrolet Suburban. The closure has become a matter of controversy on the campaign trail after Janesville congressman and Republica ...
A quote and then some comments from the October 2 issue of the New Yorker Magazine article on Mitt Romney: "Bain Capital did many dozens of deals under Romney. One of them involved a carpet company in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, called Masland, which had been owned and operated by one family for four generations. It went public in the nineteen-sixties. In 1986, it was acquired in a hostile takeover by Burlington Industries. The next year, Burlington itself came under attack from a corporate raider, and it arranged a leveraged buyout with Morgan Stanley. Desperate for cash, it put Masland up for sale. Bain Capital bought the company, which by that time was largely selling interior components to the auto business. Before making the deal, Romney flew to Detroit with the C.E.O. of the company, Bill Branch, and met with Masland's biggest customer, Ford, to make sure that it would stay on board after the deal. Then Romney helped the company acquire another interior-components supplier, in Wisconsin, which had Gener ...
I’m Lynn Woolley with your Logic Minute for 9/14/12 Mitt Romney has been pummeled for speaking out too quickly – and being too critical of the administration during a developing crisis. But what about the Obama foreign policy? Is it an internet film critical of the Islamic prophet that has roiled tensions in the Middle East – or is it something else? First, President Obama – and especially Joe Biden – have repeatedly spiked the football over the killing of Bin Laden. Biden loves to say “General Motors is alive and Osama Bin Laden is dead.” Second are the drone strikes that take out terrorist leaders, along with collateral damage. Things like this upset the radicals – and they decided to get even on the 9/11 anniversary. Perhaps the biggest administration mistake was not supporting the Mubarak government. Bad though it was, we kept telling you it would be worse under the Brotherhood – and it is. The question now is –has Obama lost his campaign edge in foreign policy? Join me on ...
Not your father's Republican, not my kind of Republican, not your kind of Republican either. I voted Republican most of my life, but not this time. Try this: Google "Romney and Stericycle". Or Google this: "Romney and Swiss bank accounts": or "Romney and Cayman Islands". While that's opening, we can go on. Mitt Romney was against the government bailing out General Motors. General Motors would have gone under and disappeared. Think about that a minute. His argument is that the strong survive, and the weak must be allowed to fail, right? I think it was a bad business decision, driven by the ideological hold that the right wing of the Republican Party has over the center. The kind of extremism shown by the Tea Party is their own demise: by moving too far from the center, the cannot drive an election victory. The majorty of voters are not that extreme. The Republican Party, while clutching at a pro-business and pro-Christian stand, are not good for either business or Christianity. And while Republicans rail a ...
Obama’s Campaign Duplicities Rival Romney’s and Ryan’s By John R. MacArthur - Like other liberals, I’ve been inundated with e-mails attacking the “lies” lately retailed by the Republican Party and the two candidates leading its national ticket. Paul Ryan’s remarks about the shutdown of his hometown General Motors plant, and President Obama’s alleged deception about keeping it open, is the casus belli cited by most of the anti-Ryan/Romney truthers. But the Janesville/GM gambit seems to stand in for a broader belief among Obama partisans that the Republicans are “lying” on a grander scale than ever before. I don’t disagree that Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney are dishonest propagandists (Ryan posing as the future savior of Medicare is the most laughable lie to date), but why isn’t Obama being held to the same standard? While the Republicans get slammed for reading back the president’s words to their advantage, Obama gets a free ride from liberals about his own double talk, especially on ...
Our friends at Let Freedom Ring did the math. Speakers at the Democratic National Convention mentioned the government-led bankruptcies of GM and Chrysler (they called them, deceptively, "rescues") over 150 times! But NOT ONCE did they mention these victims of the auto bankruptcies: Delphi retirees. Today Vice President Joe Biden is campaigning in Dayton, Ohio. It's the home of over 2,000 non-union retirees of General Motors parts supplier Delphi. These retirees had their pensions terminated by the Obama Administration at the very same time that Delphi’s union workers got their pensions "topped up" by GM -- with our taxpayer money! So much for that whole fairness thing that Obama’s always talking about. When Biden visited Youngstown, Ohio in May he was asked about the Delphi retirees, and he actually said: "Some of them got hurt, but the vast majority... most did fine." Let Freedom Ring’s videos prove Biden’s claim to be complete nonsense. Click here to watch Delphi non-union retirees on camera ta ...
Barack Obama invested BILLIONS of OUR dollars to bail out General Motors. They are producing the Chevy Volt at a loss of about $40,000 per CAR. Mitt Romney created Bain Capital with his blood, sweat and tears. Bain Companies helped create hundreds of thousands of jobs. Almost every big Pension fund (including labor unions, teachers unions, State Employee unions, and city workers) invests hundreds of MILLIONS in Bain . Why? Because Mitt's associations are successful. Where do you want to invest your children's future?
Our National debt: As of August 31, 2012, the official debt of the United States Government is $16.0 trillion ($16,015,769,788,216).$51,063 for every person living in the U.S. May God help us. AND I PRAY...May God help us. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan November 6, 1012...the current White House staff is not working! Don't get me started on General Motors...alias: Government Motors! Need I say more. If you can not sustain profit by providing a viable product; get out of business! You suck the rest us down the drain by taking my taxes and funding a work force that just don't get it.
I fundamentally differ with Joe Biden. If elected, I will kill General Motors and bring Osama Bin Laden back to life.
Osama Bin Laden is DEAD and General Motors is ALIVE...four (4) years later. They gonna double down on trickle down.Where are Mitt Romney's tax returns? What is he hiding? It may all come out now that someone has stolen a container with the Romney tax returns and asked for 1 million to return the package; if not they will go to the newspapers and publish the secret tax returns! How stupid is that? And he wants to be President, he can't even hide documents in a safe place.
Phony populism from a party of corporate America By Patrick Martin 5 September 2012 The opening night of the Democratic National Convention provided a grossly distorted picture of the Obama administration, presenting a right-wing, pro-corporate, anti-working-class government as though it was the second coming of the New Deal. Speaker after speaker bashed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney as the candidate of wealth and privilege and portrayed Obama as the advocate of working people and his reelection as the key to social and economic progress. The utter cynicism of this claim was demonstrated by the continual references to Obama’s bailout of the auto industry as the high point of his concern for the working class. This action supposedly “saved a million jobs,” but there was no examination of the actual impact of the government intervention into General Motors and Chrysler on autoworkers. Using the threat of imminent liquidation of the two companies, Obama’s auto task force, drawn from t ...

When we leave out God from a National Platform as the Democrat's have stamped to their Low approval's, Is it any wonder why The Term BIG GOVERNMENT have been there Replacement? Last night Michelle Obama mentioned blessings in her talk and what god would impose, on us death to the unborn. Leave America BROKE, Blame everybody including George W. Bush for all their FAILURES, SOLYNDRA buy outs selling out our Oil Drilling to Brazil, pushing Jobs over to Finland for cars. Car buy outs at General Motors and Chrysler that have not been repaid yet! Some blessings (Obama Style) we American's can do without! Save the lives of babies please and the JOBLESS get them to work as Mitt Romney promised 13,000 right from the start now with God's Help this is really what America calls REAL Blessings to get us moving truly FORWARD! OBAMACARE is a TAX that's unwanted by the Majority of American's. God Bless America.
Biden: Obama leadership saved auto plants Today in Ohio Vice President Joe Biden has drawn attention to the Obama Administration's rescue of the auto industry, thus criticizing the GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney who opposed the federal bailout of General Motors and Chrysler. Accordingly, he referenced Romney running mate Paul Ryan for saying that President Barack Obama failed to help an auto plant in Ryan's Wisconsin hometown. Biden continued to say Ryan failed to say that the plant in Janesville, Wisconsin, closed well before President Obama took office. Also, other accounts from other sources support Biden’s contentions. This would make Paul Ryan a bonfire deceptive and dishonest person. How can anyone really trust them? However, Biden was speaking approximately two miles north of the sprawling GM plant in Lordstown, Ohio, has given emphasize the importance of the auto bailout to the state, which is a critical political battleground. Consequently, The Republican National Committee says in resp ...
talk to the trees, but they don't listen to me, (Remember, Clint Eastwood singing this song in Paint Your Wagon)? That was when he was young and still had his mental faculties. Tonight, he talked to the chair and had some funky hair. What a shame. The most confusing part about having Clint at the RNC convention and touting the whole "We built it" thing is that in the Super Bowl halftime commercial, he was talking about "It's halftime in America". He was selling Dodge automobiles and boasting that American auto manufacturing is back. Well, who do you think brought them back? Not Mitt Romney who said "Let Detroit go bankrupt". The person who stepped up to the plate and made the auto industry a loan so they could retool their plants and become number one in the world again was the invisible man sitting in the chair that Clint Eastwood was talking to in his ramblingl almost incomprehensible manner. And yet, Clint decided to show up and endorse Mitt Romney as if he was responsible for making General Motors num ...
The president’s auto bailout saved the American auto industry and the millions of jobs depending on it throughout the country. General Motors and Chrysler have recovered and have reimbursed the government, and now GM is the No. 1 auto manufacturer again. Mitt Romney’s opinion was to let auto manufacturers fail, go bankrupt and have Detroit go under, despite the millions of jobs at risk. In response to the banking/credit crisis he inherited in 2009, President Obama and his supporters in Congress passed and enacted the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. This act created a new Independent Consumer Watchdog housed in the Fed. Republicans have tried to repeal it. President Obama’s achievements in foreign policy have been too many to list, but ending the Iraq War, killing Bin Laden and stopping the Taliban’s offensive in Afghanistan are obvious. He can also take some credit for the results of the "Arab Spring" insurgencies in Tunisia, Lybia and Egypt. Yet throughout this crisis, ...
President Obama's aides just got caught in a lie, an Obama spokeswoman acknowledging the campaign knows the man in a controversial ad despite claims to the contrary a day ago. After divulging information about Sen. Harry Reid's source regarding Mitt Romney's taxes, the Senate Majority Leader's aide is now retracting his previous statements. And apparently President Obama would like to bailout all industry and grow manufacturing jobs in the way he did General Motors and autoworkers. Problem is that taxpayers are still on the hook for more than $30 billion in the GM bailout. Those are some expensive jobs. We'll have those stories and much more on Lou Dobbs Tonight on the Fox Business Network at 7 & 10 p.m. (ET).
Every time I see one of these reports I end up wondering how exactly it is that Mitt Romney is even in contention for this election, because common sense on everyday kinds of things is so...not there. Here's an ad from the Romney campaign accusing Barack Obama of causing businesses to close in Ohio because he bailed out the auto industry. In the 30-second spot, Al Zarzour, a 61-year-old car dealership owner from Lyndhurst, Ohio, says that in the wake of the auto bailout General Motors shut down his credit line, forcing him to lay off his 30-person workforce. "In 2009, under the Obama administration's bailout of General Motors, Ohio dealerships were forced to close," a narrator says in the commercial. But just as the narrator says that at the 5-second mark, the ad shows a streetscape that appears to be in Oklahoma City, as noted by Sarah Burris, managing editor of the progressive blog FutureMajority.com. Google Street View confirms that the scene is indeed outside the Advanced Academics building on E. Sher ...
This is an awesome ad! A new video advertisement from conservative advocacy group Let Freedom Ring features the stories of several Delphi salaried retirees, who lost their pensions at the hand of the Secretary Tim Geithner's Department of Treasury. "I would ask President Obama why I had no rights and he had all the rights to take my pension away and never ever look back and say not only did I take it from Mary Miller, but I took it from 20,000 other people and their families," one Delphi salaried retiree, Mary Miller, says in the ad. "It's made life pretty rough. I've really struggled to pay for the basics," Miller also says in the ad, adding that the Obama administration's actions led to her losing "over 30 percent of my pension." The ad is destined for television sets and online ads in the battleground states of Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia, Let Freedom Ring executive director Alex Cortes said in an email to The Daily Caller. GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's campaign has addressed the Delphi ...
Booming North Dakota City Shows Wisdom of Markets By Michael Barone 7/23/2012 This is a tale of two cities. No, not Dickens' phlegmatic London and passionate Paris. Nor the two neighborhoods Charles Murray contrasted in his recent bestseller "Coming Apart" -- prosperous but isolated Belmont (actually, Mitt Romney's home for decades) and needy and disorganized Fishtown. These two cities have names you may not recognize but which you have probably read about in the last few years: Fremont and Williston. Fremont, Calif., is the southernmost city in California's East Bay, just around the corner from (well, a few freeway exits away from) Silicon Valley. It's not as upscale as Palo Alto or Cupertino but has its own distinctions. It was the site of the NUMMI plant where General Motors and Toyota collaborated for years but which closed in April 2010. It's the site of the California School for the Deaf. It has a large minority population, about half Asian in 2010, with many Filipinos, Chinese and Indians, and a sm ...
While the Obamites keep pressing about Bain Capital's clients "outsourcing" jobs, they do ignore General Electric's closing of its research center in Waukesha, WI, with the loss of several hundred jos; GE is moving it all to China. GE Aviation Division also has substantial manufacturing plants in Mexico. All this while Jefrey Immelt, the GE CEO is Obama's "Jobs Czar", tasked with increasing employment. Someone needs to tell Immelt the jobs are supposed to be in the USA. And since the $80 billion taxpayer bail out, General Motors is increasing its manufacturing in China also. Besides transferring state of the art technical info to the Chinese, GM has eleven joint ventures with the two Chinese auto firms, which are owned and run by the Chinese government. The CEO of GM, Mr. Akers, has stated that 70% of GM's production is outside the USA. The utter hypocrisy of the Obamites in sniping at Mitt Romney about Bain is staggering.
DETROIT - Steve Bengelsvorf and Terry Flynn are chatting over beers on a hot, humid Wednesday night at Bamboozles, a Dearborn, Mich., bar and restaurant and common pit stop for nearby factory workers. Both these clean-cut men sitting at the bar in polo-style shirts have a lot in common. They work at the nearby Severstal steel company. They're nearing retirement. And they both have strong opinions. "I'm not for Obamacare, I'm not for his immigration policies, I don't particularly agree with 100 percent of his economic policies," Bengelsvorf said. For the record, he's a Bud Light guy — and a Mitt Romney supporter. "We can't go further into debt, and Obama is putting us further and further into debt by all these stimulus plans." When it comes to the economy, Flynn admits it's taking too long to recover from the recession. Severstal supplies steel to the Big Three automakers — Ford, General Motors and Chrysler — so Flynn's and Bengelsvorf's jobs are tied to the auto industry. Still, Bengelsvorf looks at ...
While I am not a big fan of Mitt Romney, he is being accused of exporting jobs. The fact is that the largest exporter of jobs is the Federal Reserve of the United States whose clients include central banks and financial institutions worldwide. The second largest exporter of jobs is the United States Government itself. Examples include TARP for General Motors, Chrysler and all the major banks who do business overseas. The Federal Reserve distributed without our knowledge distributed $16 trillion dollars to banks, companies and businesses outside of the United States. The problem will continue as long as our Treasury and Federal Reserve disperse finance at near zero interest rates to businesses outside the United States.
Anyone else find it odd that the Obama administration would pick "outsourcing" as the topic of choice this week to attack Romney on? Besides the fact that as any student of economics can tell you, outsourcing actually spurs domestic economic growth when done strategically. As a private businessman, Mitt Romney may have been involved in the outsourcing of some jobs, but as President, Barack Obama gave billions of dollars in bailouts to help businesses which outsource thousands of jobs. How about all those thousands of manufacturing jobs that where shipped to China, Mexico, South Korea and Japan by General Motors after taking billions from taxpayers? Don't imagine well here much about that from the Obama camp now will we?
The Washington Post published a story June 21 calling Mitt Romney an offshoring "pioneer" while at Bain Capitol, and President Obama's campaign made an ad about that. On Wednesday, six days after the story was published, Romney's campaign is seeking a full retraction from the Post, Politico's Dylan ...

This is exciting news, Someone to represent the people, small business, and the Farmers of our community and the 10th District, * * *Candice Miller has forgot us, the people, small business , farmers with very LARGE CUTS in the 2012 Farm Bill. CHUCK STADLER SAYS NO CUTS TO 2012 Farm Bill. People need jobs. Chuck Stadler was for the Government Bailout of General Motors & Chrysler and the Auto Industry. Over 2,000,000 JOBS could have been lost. MITT ROMNEY SAID no to the bailout and many other Republicans said no. JOHN BOEHNER OF OHIO 8TH DISTRICT WOULD ONLY VOTE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSIONS, IF DEMOCRATS WOULD VOTE FOR Bush tax cuts extension, tax breaks for millionaire & billionaires. he had no problem with DEMOCRATS, REPUBLICANS, or INDEPENDENTS that would have lost their jobs and needed unemployment, & had a house payment, or people could loose their ** ...

The Obama campaign is attacking Mitt Romney for his successful tenure at Bain Capitol. The campaign attacks Bain and Romney by stating that Bain cause thousands of Americans to lose their jobs. Totally ignoreing the hundreds of thousands of jobs Bain Capitol created, or saved, under Romney leadership. Ironically, President Barack Obama, who had absolutely no business management or leadership experience prior to entering politics, caused the loss of thousands of jobs when he forced the closings of hundreds of General Motors auto dealerships. He did not even give them a chance to succeed. Ever wonder why you can't buy a new Pontiac Firebird anymore? Why can't you get your car fixed at a Pontiac Dealership anymore? Because after Obama turned "General Motors" into "Government Motors", he insisted that dealerships be closed. VALUABLE WORKERS WERE THROWEN TO THE STREETS! The Obama campaign is hoping you did not pay attention to this. The main stream media isn't reporting the truth on this subject. But t ...
President Barack Obama's re-election organization is spending a lot of time attacking Mitt Romney over his careers in venture capital (investing in start-ups) and private equity (investing in troubled or failing businesses). To reporters at Bloomberg Businessweek, Obama senior campaign adviser David Axelrod recently ripped Mr. Romney for "leveraging companies with debt, bankrupting companies and making money off of those bankruptcies . . . [that] cost jobs and certainly wages and benefits." And an Obama campaign briefing paper says "Romney closed over a thousand plants, stores and offices . . . cut employee wages, benefits and pensions . . . laid off American workers and outsourced their jobs to other countries." The president is guilty of the same alleged sins. The Obama administration, after all, forced General Motors and Chrysler into Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2009 and then capriciously ordered thousands of local dealerships closed. The auto industry bailout cost lots of Americans their jobs. GM employe ...
Mitt Romney wrote an Op Ed in the Detroit Daily News that stated "Instead of the free market doing what it does best, we got a major taste of crony capitalism." He wanted General Motors and Chrysler to enter bankruptcy with no assistance from the United States Government. That was printed on Valentines day 2012. The Bailouts and UNION CONCESSIONS made it possible for these Companies to turn the corner. This past week Mr Romney stated "So, I'll take a lot of credit for the fact that this industry has come back." Mitt Romney did ABSOLUTELY nothing to contribute to this turnaround. This is like Hitler claiming the Berlin Wall could not have fallen without him. Why do almost 50% of Americans adore liars like Mitt? We live in a very bizarre time. Read more:
There is more than a grain of truth in Mitt Romney's claim that General Motors and Chrysler owe their survival to the wholesale restructuring carried out under the auspices of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court -- a strategy Romney championed months before the Obama administration or its predecessor were w...
If we could provide everyone in the US a job making $10/hr, with today's tax structure, we would only be able to raise $1 trillion in revenue. That wouldn't cover the defense budget and interest on the debt. The only way for us to get this all back where it should be is to come up with an additional 20 million $40,000/year jobs, raise the minimum wage to an average of $12.50/hr, return the defense budget back to the $350 billion level of 2001, return to a policy of making everyone, including Mitt Romney, pay the same income tax rate and pass the hat to actually pay the debt down (a one time "Get out of Debt Tax" on net worth). There's an article in the Houston Chronicle today listing the Fortune 500 top revenue-generating U.S. companies. Here they are: Exxon Mobil, Wal-Mart, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, General Motors, General Electric, Berkshire Hathaway, Fannie Mae, Ford, Hewlett Packard, Enterprise Products MLP, Sysco, Plains All American Pipline, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Apache, Marathon Oil, National ...
"If Mitt Romney would have been in office these last years, than Osama Bin Laden would be alive, and General Motors would be dead" - Joe Biden
Excerpts from 'The Real Mitt Romney' "George Romney (Mitt Romney's Dad) was president and chairman of AMC for years before he ran for governor of Michigan." George fought the "Big Three" automakers for years, but to no avail as AMC soon went out of Business. George was a strong supporter and booster for the auto unions in Michigan during his term as governor. During his stint at AMC, Mitt was a fourteen year old son and was attending Cranbrook, an exclusive private school in Bloomfield Hills. "In the 1960's, it was said that one out of every three families in Detroit owed their living to the automobile business," worte Mitt's Cranbrook classmate Gregg Dearth in an unpublished essay about his growing-up-years. "In the nouveau riche...Bloomfield Hills, it was closer to 100 percent." In an interview, the New York marketing executive elaborates: "Mitt was surrounded by scions of the car business at Cranbrook. Virtually every Cranbrook boy came from a family that owed its empoyment in some way, shape, ...
