Safety Agency May Expand Recall ETROIT (AP) - U.S. safety regulators are checking to see if more General Motors cars should be recalled because the air bags won't inflate. The probe covers about 400,000 Chevrolet Cruze and Sonic small cars, the Chevrolet Camaro muscle car and the Buick Verano small car from the 2012 model year. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says GM recalled just over 6,800 of the cars in two recalls last year and in January. The main front air bags wouldn't inflate due to a defect in the electrical connections. The agency says GM may not have fully identified the cause of the problem, so it will see if the recall should be expanded. The agency has no reports of crashes or injuries from the problem.

I'd like to thank all my close friends and family for being very supportive of me and my situation over the last 2 days. I'm going to need the same support for the next few weeks/months until things return to "normal". I'm thinking about contacting General Motors and thanking them for building the 1998-2002 Chevrolet Camaro/Pontiac Firebird the way they did, because if they didn't you wouldn't be reading this message.

Roy Thomas MY FRIEND SO DEAR TO ME ,SO MUCH TO SHARE! It could get 60 miles a gallon for all I care. read my lips. Bail Out, Bail Out, Bail Out. No more Chevy's or Chrysler's for this one, a die hard Chevrolet Camaro and Road Runner fan. I will gladly wait until FORD builds a comparable vehicle and I'm sure they will. I'm 57, grew up on a farm. Inherited a 57 Pontiac when I was 12 and drove it through our wooded property and across our fields. I then got a 57 Pontiac followed by a Corvair, another Pontiac,a 69 Road Runner along with 2 57 Chevy's, a 210 series 2 dr. Hardtop and a 2 dr. Belair sedan. I also collect a 58 Willy's jeep and a 58 Thunderbird. Then the military came and Dad sold all my cars, not only sold them but kept the money. My 57 210 series had a 283, 2 bbl., with a 3 spd stick on the column. I purchased the car in 1971, it had 10,157 original miles on it. It still had 1957 license plates on it when I bought it. I got it from a elder lady whose husband worked for General Motors, bought the ...
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: 1,500 jobs may be lost if Impala, Equinox production heads south One of General Motors' two lines at its assembly facility in Oshawa, Ontario will close next summer, the automaker told the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) union June 1. As many as 1,500 jobs may be eliminated. The Globe and Mail reports production at the "consolidated" factory line will stop June 2013, five years after the plant was initially supposed to be shut down. The closure will be phased in as each of the line's three shifts are eliminated between now and next June. The facility, which currently turns out Chevrolet Impala sedans and Equinox crossovers, employs about 2,000 people; the "flex" factory line next door, where the Chevrolet Camaro, Buick Regal and Cadillac XTS are made, employs another 2,000. GM is expected to shift production of the Equinox to the old Saturn facility in Spring Hill, Tennessee, which was shut down in 2009 when the brand was killed off. The United Autos Workers union at that plant agreed to tak ...

The Camaro/Mustang rivalry had begun in 1967 with the introduction of the Chevrolet Camaro by General Motors. The Camaro was the largest threat to the lead Ford had in the "pony car" field, a niche of car manufacturing largely created by Ford with the introduction of the Mustang in mid-year 1964. Despite the lead Ford had in this field, the performance of the Mustang did not stack up to that of the Camaro. The small block and big block Chevrolet were more than a match for the 289 and 390 Fords placed in the Mustang. Ford, in an effort to burnish their "total performance" image introduced the 428 Cobra Jet in mid-year 1968, and in 1969, built one of Detroit's most interesting power plants, the Ford Boss 302 engine V8. The design was a composite engine using the "tunnel port" Windsor block and large Cleveland heads.[1] The engine was fitted to Mustangs sold to the public to allow Ford to use the new engine to compete in the Trans-Am series.[2] The Boss 302 Mustang was designed by Larry Shinoda, a former GM ...
