“Bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive!” Or vice versa.
I am fascinated with how much entrenched conservative thought is 'anti-Obama", despite all the evidence that he is doing a reasonably good job leading the country. He is not perfect; but, considering the unparalleled opposition he's encountered, it 's a wonder that we finally have more equitable health care plans, Bin Laden is no longer a factor, the deficit is reduced, general Motors is still in business, shall I continue? I can, of course...
Remember when Osama Bin Laden was killed and people took to the streets, celebrations ensued, and the Obama Administration rallied around the campaign slogan "Bin Laden is Dead, and General Motors is alive!"? Well, now that the *** from Westboro Baptist is dead I am told that it is wrong to celebrate in the death of ANYONE. The reasoning is we should really just pray for the souls of those filled with hate. Because, you know, that is what we self-righteous white liberals do. We dispense with compassion like its candy at Halloween. We get to decide when someone deserves a parade for their extrajudicial killing, their obituary reduced to a snappy line for Joe Biden to bellow at the DNC. We also get to declare when someone deserves our "prayers," because who can possibly imagine the torment of a soul corrupted by hatred? Yeah... to paraphrase a famous quote, which is apt for Fred Phelps' death, "I didn’t attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it."
Well : News flash! General Motors to build new assembly plant in Shanghi to build Cadillacs.Ford building new assembly plant in India. H'mmm , seems like I heard a slogan on Presidential campaign trail ,Bin Laden is dead GM is alive,Owebama bailed out the auto industry to save American jobs. GM now builds seven out of eleven cars overseas. Sounds like the union got snookered on this one. Don't hear any liberals in congress crying foul.
Something for the next four years: A report issued Wednesday by the inspector general for Troubled Asset Relief Program finds that taxpayers will lose $27 Billion from the 2008 bailout. General Motors and Ally (GMAC) still owe $17.2 billion from what they received. Taxpayers own 74% of Ally. This is "secured" by GM Stock that was purchased, by the great invester-in-chief for $78 per share when the stock was trading at just under $28.00; a really good investment. The report states that to break even, the stock would have to be sold at $71.86 per share. GM stock is still trading at $28, so it does not look like we will get rid of the paper. But what the heck, "Bin Laden is dead, and GM is alive", according to Joe baloney during the re-election campaign. For those that voted for the "four more years" on one single issue, such as immigration reform, universal health care, etc. remember that for every dollar we spend 40 cents is borrowed money. A $16 Trillion plus debt is mucho dinero.

Bin Laden is dead. General Motors is alive!
Monday night is the final presidential debate and it’s on foreign policy. Given the dead heat between the two candidates, a strong showing in this debate could well determine who wins the election. Romney has already acquitted himself on the economic issues. He’s made that sale. But Romney still has to convince the American people he can keep them safe in an increasingly dangerous world. And that depends on which Mitt Romney shows up Monday night – the George W. Bush Romney, or the Ronald Reagan Romney. We already know which Barack Obama will show up: Obama-the-Usama-Slayer. He will try to wrap Romney in the tattered flag of George W. Bush and accuse him of trying to get us into another Middle East war. A few weeks ago that looked like enough for Obama to win the debate and coast to victory in November. “General Motors is alive, and Bin Laden is dead” was proclaimed at the Democratic Convention. The September 11th massacre in Benghazi changed all that, and people are now taking a second look at ...

"Well of course if I had known zombie Bin Laden was going to crawl out of the ocean and destroy General Motors factories I would have been more careful with my slogan-making. Of course. " -Joe Biden
What is on my mind?- the stupid people that are trying to compare 1980 to now, Obama to President Carter-really? Gas prices now to gas prices then? Does anyone even know what the gas price was in 1980? $1.25- yes, nothing like it is now or was in 2005 when it inflated to $3 and never turned back- by the way, it was $1.15 a gallon as recently as 2000- yes, right before Bush became president. People wake up and think for yourself and get off of the party line. The last thing George Washington warned when he left office was not to have a two party government- not sure everyone knows we did not have that when the country was formed. I am not a blind supporter of Obama, he still has work to do and has made mistakes, but I do seek out the facts. General Motors in Alive and Bin Laden is Dead- that does means something. Exactly what was George Bush's legacy? what did he accomplish on his watch-nothing! He is even an embarassment to his party... and to his father. I liked the first president Bush- he stood for so ...
i'm really confused as to why people keep makin it seem like Obama has done nothing for this country. i'm not tryin to start a war on my but please, inform me of why he's such a bad president... but before you do that consider this. when he took office we were facing the biggest debt crisis we've seen since the Great Depression and if it wasn't handled properly would have surely been WORSE than the Great Depression. stabalized Wall Street after the stock market CRASHED. kept General Motors from going under. created millions of jobs. has been endorsing ways for students to fight student loans and been pushing for more scholarship and grant funding. got our troops out of Iraq (where we were never supposed to even be in the FIRST place). got Bin Laden. managed to avoid a nuclear crisis with North Korea. got the health care reform passed which takes health care out of the hands of corporations trying to turn well being into a business. and this is just the stuff i can think of off the top of my head... so yea ...
On 60 Minutes tonight, the guy who killed Bin Laden. On Meet The Press this morning, the guy who would have killed General Motors.
Osama Bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive!
Thursday night at the Democrats' National Convention at Charlotte, people were amused at Joe Biden expounding on "Bin Laden is dead---GM is alive" and seeing all the signs displaying the same. Bin Laden is dead: TRUE: there is even talk he has already registered to vote in Chicago for the election in November. GM is Alive: MAYBE: I recently heard Dan Akerson, CEO of GM, say that 70 % of all General Motors vehicles are made outside the the United States. He said GM has 11 assembly plants operating in China. So, it appears that the taxpayers' bailout money, totaling $50 billion is providing a lot of jobs for a bunch of Chinamen - not Americans. Also, the government owns 500,000 shares of GM stock. At the current price of GM stock on the Big Board, that's a loss of $25,000,000,000 of taxpayers' money. So, Joe, as Clinton advised us Wed. night, do your Arithmetic before distributing any more signs.

General Motors is Alive and Osama Bin Laden is dead...
I have heard a lot of things said and posted about this election, some of them have been true and some have not, but this is what seals it for me. Unemployment is 8.3 percent, and although there are some who say it has fallen recently, that is due to people accepting down graded jobs in hope of surviving until there can be true change, not and increase is real jobs. The median American income is down by over $9000 per year The National debt has increased over 37% in the last THREE YEARS. Read that again THREE YEARS! Obama and Biden laud as there accomplishments the death of Osama Bin Laden and the survival of General Motors. Barak Obama had nothing to do with bin laden's death that was done by American agencies that had been working on long before he came to office, and it was carried out by brave american soldiers while Obama sat in his office, you sir "did not build that". General Motors bail out that he claims so much accomplishment over, nets 4500 jobs created in America, because 74,500 of the approx ...

Joe Biden's summary of the Obama campaign:"Bin Laden dead, General Motors alive."
Bin Laden is dead, General Motors is alive.
I know at times it is hard to understand all the different political facts and also know my Republican friends get their facts wrong. To clarify, VP Biden sums it best in a method Republicans can understand- a bumper Sticker that would read " Bin Laden is Dead and General Motors Lives!". That sums up what you need to know about the first three years of Obama's domestic and foreign policy.
