Having way too much fun watching old Match Game episodes on YouTube in preparation for Edna's appearance at the Big *** Game Show(March 20th!) I want a long thin microphone like Gene Rayburn has! Love Richard Dawson, Charles Nelson Reilly, Betty White, and so many more.:) I hope I can think on the spot, my Improv classes should help!
I get up in the morning, make coffee, and instead of turning on the news or Sportscenter, I turn on Game Show Network. I watch reruns of Match Game with Gene Rayburn, Card Sharks with Jim Perry, Family Feud with Richard Dawson, and my favorite, Press Your Luck. I was 3 when Press Your Luck was on the air, and I rooted for the Whammy to come out then. At age 31, I still root for the Whammy.
Spent the evening watching the Match Game w/Gene Rayburn purely to laugh at Richard Dawson's wit

I'm seriously addicted to game shows from the 70s, there's just no host like Richard Dawson and Gene Rayburn.
Does anyone remember the old game show, the "Match Game"? (Gene Rayburn was the host, along with many celebrities like Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Riley, Richard Dawson, Fannie Flagg, Betty White, etc.) It was the game show that "launched a thousand 'blanks' ". I was just sitting here watching episodes of it on YouTube. That show was SO halarious, the way game shows SHOULD be!! They just do not make them like that anymore.

Gene Rayburn participates in a leg wrestling demonstration with new female contestant, Lannie Abraham, as Richard Dawson slyly watches.
Now here's a puzzler. The Players Association went on strike, no season, but I noticed they still released the new hockey game "NHL 2013". Wha??? You go to play it and it's actually footage of your favorite player practicing his golf swing at the Driving Range, maybe sitting around the living room smoking a doob, watching re-reuns of the Match Game. The late Richard Dawson was the bomb on that show, boy. For real. Charles Nelson Reilly, Brett Summers, Gene Rayburn... "They were all my friends/And they died."

Just found out on Saturday we lost an acting and game show legend. Richard Dawson passed away at age 79. He was known for playing Newkirk on Hogans Heroes, hosting Family Feud and was the last of the original panelists from Match Game. He is now in heaven with Charles Nelson Reily, Brett Somers and Gene Rayburn. Thank you Richard for all the many years of memories. God bless you. You will be missed dearly.
When it comes to awesome game show hosts, Richard Dawson (Family Feud) and Gene Rayburn (The Match Game) take the cake. Altho I love the Price is Right and want to go to it, Bob Barker just doesn't make the cut.
And let us not forget Richard Dawson's funny moments on "Match Game",alongside Brett Somers,Charles Nelson Reilly and Gene Rayburn.
Supermarket Sweep??? Not over Gene Rayburn and Match Game (w/Richard Dawson as frequent guest on Nehru jackets and turtlenecks)

Richard Dawson, Gene Rayburn, all great hosts who could put more sexual innuendo into a single eye movement than anyone
Just read that Richard Dawson has passed away after a long battle with cancer. For those who don't who he is, he was known as the longtime host of the original Family Feud and also a longtime panelist on the original Match Game hosted by the late Gene Rayburn. Dawson was also known as Corporal Peter Newkirk on Hogan's Heroes. During his tenure on Family Feud he normally would I guess you can say flirt with the female contestants. On Match Game he would always throw out wisecracks to get a good laugh from not only the people on the show but the audience at home. His other credits include The Devil's Brigade with Bruce Willis and The Running Man with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Richard Dawson's success on Family Feud help spawn several reincarnations of the legendary game show. Richard Dawson will missed by his family, friends, colleagues and the fans that enjoyed watching him. Survey Says. R.I.P. Richard Dawson 1932-2012
First, *** Clark. Now, Richard Dawson. Losing Bert Convy and Gene Rayburn was hard enough. My childhood TV heroes are almost all gone.
Now Gene Rayburn (Match Game) and Richard Dawson can hug up in the big house
I was watching clips of Gene Rayburn's hilarious game show "Match Game" on Youtube the past several days. Very sad to learn that Richard Dawson, one of the guest celebrities died today. Thanks Richard Dawson for all the laughs. RIP.
Survey says "RIP Richard Dawson". Say hello to Gene Rayburn when you see him.
Gene Rayburn, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, and now Richard Dawson. No one is left from The Match Game :(
RIP Richard Dawson. A true icon in daytime TV and easily the best celebrity to ever play on a game show. You can watch any Match Game from the 70's and it's still relevant today. Dawson, Gene Rayburn, Charles Nelson Reilly, & Brett Somers had chemistry that few other shows had and now they are all gone. Maybe now Dawson & Rayburn can squash their beef on the other side while making everyone laugh.
