_Florida Attorney General In Denial_ We sent a lengthy and heartfelt email to Florida's Attorney General, Pam Bondi, this week, detailing the issues that patients are having when attempting to fill prescriptions for pain relief medicines. Ms. Bondi requested her staffer, Beverly Baily, to respond. What we received back from Ms. Baily was a brief denial of any responsibility by the Attorney General's office, followed by the suggestion that we should discuss our problems with our doctors and pharmacists, because as she put it, ..."it's a decision made by the medical profession"... and she included links to the state's healthcare website, as well as fifteen other generic healthcare websites, offering information on various diseases. While we certainly appreciate the time and effort that Pam Bondi's office spent pulling up links, there was a complete disconnect with the root issue; the states unfair crackdown on chronic pain patients. Ms. Baily did admit that Florida HB 7095 "gets tough on prescription drug . ...

So this drunkard got put on one of those restraining chairs where they put a "spit guard" on him and pepper sprayed him several times, drenching the rag and him in the stuff. It was established in a court that he was restrained and although the officer acted negligibly, the PD was more at risk of a lawsuit because they may not have trained officers in the use of the restraining chair properly. The florida attorney general didn't have enough evidence to prosecute the officer. Here's a piece of the florida attorney generals mission statement: "Decisions will be made based on the law and the evidence. The rights of the victims of crime shall always be respected and enforced through vigorous and fair prosecution."

Lakeland Police Scandals: On Womack's Watch September 23 Supporters of Lakeland Police Chief Lisa Womack say the Lakeland Police sex scandal spans a period of eight years. Womack has been chief for 2½ years. So, for the most part, it was ot on her watch. Part 2 of 2 The sex scandal — in which 10 on-duty police officers, including some of high rank, took part in sexual acts or sexually suggestive behavior, and more than 20 officers were involved in total — is the scandal that has drawn the greatest interest. However, that view ignores the bulk of the Lakeland Police scandals, which occurred this year. They were on Womack's watch. The first came to light in January. Womack told The Ledger the department played a "cat-and-mouse" game with news organizations over public records that contained sensitive information. The article was followed by a February grand jury inquiry into the department's handling of public records. The grand jury's report, called a presentment, has been appealed to the 2nd District ...

Hobbs' Hump Day Hot Topics HUGO CHAVEZ IS DEAD The first major international event that I remember from childhood was the capture of hostages from the American Embassy in 1979. At the time, my family was living in a military heavy neighborhood in Maryland and my father, still an active duty Army officer, my mother and I often would watch Walter Cronkite's version of events each night on the CBS Evening News and occasionally discuss both the hostage crisis and the source of the same, which included Ayatollah Khomeni's overthrow of the Shah of Iran, Mohammed Pahlavi, who by that time was in poor health and receiving medical treatment in the United States. As an eight year old my understanding of politics was just beginning, and though encouraged to ask questions by both parents, like most kids, my politics were not dissimilar from theirs, thus my conclusion at the time that the Shah was an albatross around Uncle Sam's neck and that but for him and our support of his regime, the American hostages would have ...

TRINIDAD: Senior Counsel on hanging issue: Laws needed to get around Privy Council ruling Senior Counsel Israel Khan has urged Government to expedite legislation to circumvent the Privy Council's Pratt and Morgan judgment which makes hanging difficult to implement. "In the absence of such legislation, it would be difficult to resume hangings," Khan said in an interview yesterday. He said in the Pratt and Morgan matter, the Privy Council said if a person was convicted of murder they must be executed within five years of their conviction. As the law currently stood, he added, that judgment could frustrate the process toward hangings. Khan said: "Government should therefore categorise murder into 1st degree - for heinous, deliberate vicious slayings - 2nd and 3rd degree and retain the death penalty for 1st-degree murder. This could expedite the system. Not every murder case deserves the execution penalty. "The Opposition also needs to look at this seriously in T&T's interest since they may be government some ...

Here is Obama's plan to make life better for all Americans, "more taxes, more government spending, and raising the debt ceiling." Haven't we been doing this for four years and our country is worse off than under any other President? How can one person's instinct for running a country be so bad? I didn't go to Harvard like Barry (Obama's name back in his college days) but I don't need a degree in rocket science to know that less government spending actually raises government revenue, government spends 2 cents to make a 1 cent penny (fact) so why should I trust them with more money and power, and the debt ceiling is destroying the American dollar. There is so much we could be doing to make America great again through energy independence, banking (why not offer the same deal as in the Cayman Islands) and stimulating business by making America a tax friendly place for job creators. Instead we hear about gun control, and the rich not paying enough, and the SEQUESTER VS rolling up your sleeves and st ...
Florida Foreclosure Defense Law Firm The Florida foreclosure defense lawyers at The Law Offices of Debra C. Quinn are experienced in representing clients throughout the entire foreclosure process. The foreclosure timeline may vary depending upon each particular case, but in general an uncontested foreclosure in Florida will usually take approximately two to three months. When the homeowner takes action to stop or delay foreclosure, it will take longer. The time-line in a foreclosure process is crucial in order to ensure that a homeowner can fight to keep his home, have time for a short sale, negotiate a loan modification or file for bankruptcy. If action is not taken in time there is nothing that a homeowner can do, except lose his or her house. This is why it is of the utmost importance that you contact an attorney as soon as possible if you have been served a notice of foreclosure. When a lender begins foreclosure proceedings, they will file a lawsuit against you in court. You will then be served a noti ...

Interesting piece of legislation... "This Act may be cited as the `Citizens' Self-Defense Act of 2009'. SEC. 2. FINDINGS. The Congress finds the following: (1) Police cannot protect, and are not legally liable for failing to protect, individual citizens, as evidenced by the following: (A) The courts have consistently ruled that the police do not have an obligation to protect individuals, only the public in general. For example, in Warren v. District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department, 444 A.2d 1 (D.C. App. 1981), the court stated: `[C]ourts have without exception concluded that when a municipality or other governmental entity undertakes to furnish police services, it assumes a duty only to the public at large and not to individual members of the community.'. (B) Former Florida Attorney General Jim Smith told Florida legislators that police responded to only 200,000 of 700,000 calls for help to Dade County authorities. I stupidedly hired them to remove half of the walls and dry out my flooded property in Brick. They quoted me a price of $3,500.00. They ripped out only half of the walls and the placed some dehumidifiers in the house that never ran. Then without even discussing it with me removed all of the flooring. The last day they were on the property, they removed the remainder of the walls. Now they are sending me a bill for over $10,000.00. They are nothing but scam artists. Does anyone have any advice for me or can you at least recommend a good attorney who specializes in this sort of thing?

I am sickened and disgusted by the actions of some people following the sinkhole tragedy. I am friends with the family, and was told yesterday that they had an attorneys representative walking up and down the street asking people if they knew the family. When the representative found the father, she spoke to him for a few minutes expressing condolences, hugging him around the neck, then shoved a folder with a business card and contract into his hands. The attorneys office has also been calling the poor man. This is just disgusting behavior. This family just lost everything, including a family member, and you are out there trying to make a buck off of them. And there are sinkhole inspection companies handing out flyers to the neighbors trying to solicit business! I own a disaster restoration company, ( I don't do sinkholes) and I have met with the family and several of the neighbors. Not only did I NOT give out any business cards, I also did NOT mention my company at all. I've already reported the a ...

In Florida, an atheist created a case against Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days. The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring, "Case dismissed!" The lawyer immediately stood and objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays..." The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counselor, is woefully ignorant." The lawyer said," Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists." Debtors Prisons In The US Are Rapidly Filling With People Who Can't Pay Bills How did breast cancer survivor Lisa Lindsay end up behind bars? She didn't pay a medical bill -- one the Herrin, Ill., teaching assistant was told she didn't owe. "She got a $280 medical bill in error and was told she didn't have to pay it," The Associated Press reports. "But the bill was turned over to a collection agency, and eventually state troopers showed up at her home and took her to jail in handcuffs." In September 2009, Jeffrey Stearns, a concrete-company owner, answered a knock at the door from a Hancock County, Ind., deputy sheriff. The deputy was holding a warrant to arrest Mr. Stearns for not paying $4,024.88 owed to a unit of American International Group Inc. on a loan for his pickup truck. After being handcuffed in front of his four children, Mr. Stearns, 29 years old, spent two nights in jail, where he said he was strip-searched and sprayed for lice. Court records show he was released after agreeing to pay $1,500 ...
GOP Governors Continue Caving In to ObamaCare Mandates Republican governors once so ferocious in their fight against ObamaCare now seem content to roll over and play dead. Perhaps their new agreeable attitude is inspired by the fact that President Obama was reelected in November while their own political futures remain in jeopardy. As the Associated Press reported last Sunday, “nearly two dozen GOP governors elected in 2009 and 2010 could face the voters again.” The conciliatory spirit among the GOP executives was strong at the annual winter meeting of the National Governors Association held February 22-25 in Washington, D.C. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (shown), once one of the most brazen bulldogs in the Republican kennel, reflects the new pragmatism prevalent among the GOP governors in comments he made at the governors meeting. "People may agree or disagree with my position on this social issue or that social issue, but as long as I'm not rubbing it in their face all the time and instead talking ...

Here are some more facts in regards to Alabama's new Flexibility Act or whatever it is called now. 1. Legislators voted to pass a Bill that they did not read. 2. We do not know how much this Bill will cost. We passed a bill without knowing how much this will cost our Education Trust Fund. 3. When passed, the Bill includes another definition of what a "Failing School" is. So right now, we do not know to whom this bill will apply. 4. The rules of the Legislature were used to disenfranchise you. The plan was designed so that your elected representative would not have a chance to read and understand it so they would not vote against it. 5. The Republicans have a super majority in the house. They have the votes to pass anything they wish. They do not have to lie, deceive, or mislead anyone. To pass a bill in this manner should indicate to you that a few people have entirely too much power in this state. 6. Our State Superintendent and many other experts in Education were ignored and intentionally deceived beca ...

Push for futuristic guns builds on embattled past 01/27/2013 9:59 AM [...] proponents of so-called personalized or smart guns are hoping the nation's renewed attention on firearms following the Newtown school massacre will kick start research and sale of safer weapons. In the fiery debate over guns, personalized weapons have long occupied particularly shaky ground —an idea criticized both by gun-rights groups and some gun control advocates. [...] it is. Because when one thinks of something as a public health person the first thing is you're sick with grief and the second thing that comes to mind is why in the world would there be a handgun operable by a 4-year-old? [...] in the mid-1990s he voiced support for a project at Colt's Manufacturing Co., the legendary but beleaguered gun maker that saw an opportunity to sell safe guns to police officers and parents of young children. Your Local Sheriff will want to read this. ATTENTION: Effort to abolish local sheriffs a stealth federal power grab? A news report has been quietly making its way around the alternative media, under the radar screen, concerning a Delaware legal decision to strip county sheriffs of their arrest powers in the state. The mainstream media has not reported the story, but the son of Vice President Joe Biden, who serves as Attorney General for the state of Delaware, has issued a mandate to county commissioners informing them that sheriffs in the state's three counties no longer have arrest powers. When the information reached this reporter late yesterday evening, further investigation revealed that there is a nationwide effort to strip local sheriffs of most of their enumerated powers that are mandated in the state constitutions of the various states. Such a move would have the net effect of abolishing local sheriffs departments and strengthening the power of federal law enforcement agencies. And this is not th ...

FBI is increasing pressure on suspects in Stuxnet inquiry Text SizePrintE-mailReprints By Peter Finn, Saturday, January 26, 3:52 PM Federal investigators looking into disclosures of classified information about a cyberoperation that targeted Iran’s nuclear program have increased pressure on current and former senior government officials suspected of involvement, according to people familiar with the investigation. The inquiry, which was started by Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. last June, is examining leaks about a computer virus developed jointly by the United States and Israel that damaged nuclear centrifuges at Iran’s primary uranium enrichment plant. The U.S. code name for the operation was Olympic Games, but the wider world knew the mysterious computer worm as Stuxnet. The FBI and prosecutors have interviewed several current and former senior government officials in connection with the disclosures, sometimes confronting them with evidence of contact with journalists, according to people fami ...

THE REAL FACE OF ELDER ABUSE - Catherine C. Reinertson - DOB: 06/15/16 DIED: 03/02/11 - Catherine was my aunt, second mother, and roommate at Sun Grove Resort Village (SGRV). Catherine moved to Arizona is 1946 because of the better climate for her sick mother. Catherine was the Comptroller of Western Savings in the 50s and started a children's daycare school with my mother. She ran Children's Castle Nursery School for over 20 years. The pictures are of Catherine in 2009 and her grave in 2011 after she was killed by SGRV's elder abuse and senior financial exploitation. Catherine moved to SGRV in August 2007 and had her own SGRV apartment. Catherine moved into my SGRV apartment in August 2008 because SGRV raised her rent 15% (not the promised only 4% annual increase). Catherine and I put over $3,000 of upgrades into our SGRV apartment and she loved her friends there. Catherine and I experience declining SGRV service because I was fighting for the rights of the other residents while I was the Chairman on ...
I have heard police chiefs arguing for weapons comparable to those carried by the real thugs that roam our streets, sell drugs, turn our sons and daughters into prostitutes and junkies, break into homes, banks, and any other place they believe to be vulnerable. Now, if their arguments for higher caliber weapons are valid, and they have demonstrated their inability to be on top of every crime scene, why would any fool argue against having the same weapons to protect our families, property, and businesses? When my daughter was killed by a group of thugs roaming the streets at midnight while she stood outside of her mother's house, more than 40 cartridges were recovered from no less than 5 guns. We would have needed a fullly automatic rifle to save my daughter and remove 5 or more weapons from the street. Who should have the right to tell me I can only have one weapon with 7 rounds? The ones who believe my daughter deserved to die and I should not have the power to save her life. No, I didn't need a weapon t ...

Now I can share, Right or wrong this is what the status is. I have had to keep virtually all information to myself but now there is light at the end of the tunnel I can share some of the end goals. 1.) reveal the lies that have been told. 2.) get back some of the damages caused to me and others. 3.) change the laws so that others wont have to suffer what I have had to endure and add consequences to breaking those laws. These are just the top 3 items. What changed is that the judge refused the dissolution of injuction. This was expect which is why there was a court reporter taking all the notes. Having lived in alabama in the past I was aware of how the "good ole boy" system works and only after reaching the point where I could go proceed to the next court level could at least one of my goals be achived. Both of my attorney's agreed the injuction will be vacated by the 5th District Court of Appeals (5th DCA). The only question by one of the attorney's is that if not done a certian way the Braccia family wi ...

Four trafic violations for driving through toll in HIllsborough and Pasco Counties in January of this year. My toll machine thing had money on it and was in the vehicle. They mailed the tickets to my previous address, I was forced to change the address on my license in 2009 because my previous address was my old PO Box. The tickets are $285 now because they haven't been paid because I never received them. $1 toll violations are now $285 and they weren't mailed to me. Not to the address on my drivers license anyway. Does anyone know who I need to call or visit to sort this out? Went to the court in Pasco, they said my license will remain suspended until I pay the $285. Must be some law stating tickets must be mailed to my residents not an old address?

We received this question in a private message: "My dream is to be a nurse. I love helping people and there is no better gift than the gift of health. However, I am undecided about which specialty or field of nursing I want to start. I want to be an RN, but not sure if I want to be an epidemiologist, or pediatrics, or travel nurse, etc. all I know is that I am on my way to the nursing world. As all nurses know, getting vaccinated for viruses is mandatory when working in hospitals and other facilities dealing with patients. I am wondering what field of nursing, with my RN degree I can get into without getting shots. I am not a conspiracist, I just am against vaccines. I do not want to put such inorganic things into my body, as well as others. with that being said, know nursing may not seem like a field for me, but I am certain that is. Any suggestions?" Does anyone have any advice for her?

IT'S A GOOD START- BUT FAR FROM OVER- Marshall Watson Foreclosure Mill Shut Down After Guilty Plea And Consent to Judgment, Changes Name to Choice Legal Group The foreclosure mill, Law Firm of Marshall Watson, has been shut down after the owner, Marshall Watson, pled guilty to unlawful and unethical practices at his firm. It appears that the firm hopes to have a smooth transition to a new law office, Choice Legal Group, headed by Marshall Watson’s brother, John Watson. In 2010, John Watson, apparently playing both sides of the crisis, in more than one instance represented a property owner against the very same financial institution that he also represented, in at least some capacity, in other foreclosure cases. In March 2011, Marshall Watson paid two million dollars to settle a Florida Attorney General investigation into questionable foreclosure practices and suspicious document execution policies. However, that settlement didn’t clean up Watson’s practices enough to fend off a new set of accusation ...
Twice lately my husband received an unsolicited phone call from an unknown source about 5:30 on a Thursday or Friday. He doesn't answer these calls, and they don't leave a message. I looked up the number on the internet and confirmed that it's a payday loan company in Florida. They call people at random trying to scare them into giving personal information so they can steal from their bank accounts or credit cards. So, be careful, friends! I'm going to see if our phone co. can block these calls.

Urine Need of Better Representation by Susan Bruce, susanthebruce.blogspot.com, January 22, 2013 I attended a hearing today at the NH House for HB121, "An act requiring drug testing of applicants for Temporary Assistance to Needy Families." (TANF) This bill is sponsored by Donald LeBrun of Nashua (who sponsored the bill to drug test food stamp recipients in 2011) and Jeanine Notter of Merrimack. The analysis of the bill: The bill requires the Dept. of Health and Human Services to implement a drug testing program for applicants of TANF. It's so much more than that. Not only do they want to drug test everyone, they want the person being tested to pay for the test. If they pass the test, the money will be reimbursed. If they don't pass the test, they'll be ineligible to receive TANF benefits for a year. Children under the age of 18 are exempt from the testing - UNLESS they happen to be a teen parent who is not living with a parent or guardian. A person who fails the test will get a list of substance abu ...

Why isn’t this a front page story nationwide? By: Cynthia Kouril Tuesday December 11, 2012 5:22 am On November 20th 2012 I told you about a guilty plea taken by Lorraine Brown, the founder of DOCX (later known at LPS), in federal court in Florida. The press release for that plea did not come out until after 5 PM on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving most of the reporters who usually occupy the front pages of our newspapers and network news were presumably traveling or preparing for their holiday. The story was barely reported. Lorraine Brown also pled guilty earlier that same day in state court in Missouri. She is rumored to be in plea negotiations in other states. Even though this is no longer breaking news, it still belongs on the front page of every paper in the country and should be the lead story on every newscast. I’ll tell you why: Whatever the banks thought about the robo-signing being “sloppy” before, once Lorraine Brown admitted that virtually every do ...

Does anyone know a good malpractice attorney? Because some with a very nearsighted approach to the impact an educated chiropractic physician can have on their patients and the community is a bit misguided.and I quote "You don't need prescription rights to educate people. Properly educated people take THEMSELVES off medications. That is the ultimate job of a DC, education. Trading trust in an MD to trust in a DC for is NOT natural and not Chiropractic."…but in the act of “educating people” are you not in fact making a medical recommendation without the authority to do so? This comment simply proves the point that educated and trained chiropractic physicians have a place as primary care providers with prescriptive authority.

Amendment 7: Florida Religious Freedom, Amendment 7 (2012), which was scheduled to appear on the general ballot, was removed by court order on December 14. However, in light of a law approved in 2011, the Florida Attorney General had the authority to rewrite the proposal. This was done within the allotted 10 days to do so. On December 20, 2011, Attorney General Pam Bondi rewrote the proposal, and therefore the measure was placed on the ballot again as "Amendment 8." Amendment 8: Religious Freedom Note: This proposal was known as Amendment 7 until a legal challenge by opponents led to the rewriting of some of the ballot language and its reinstatement on the ballot as Amendment 8. This is the reason there is no Amendment 7 on the 2012 ballot. What it would do: This amendment would remove the prohibition in Florida's Constitution that prevents religious institutions from receiving taxpayer funding. Wednesday, September 29, 2010 MEDIA MATTERS REPORTS Media Matters: How Fox News helps its own employees run for office September 24, 2010 2:46 pm ET - by Eric Hananoki For nearly two years, Fox News knew its "political analyst" Angela McGlowan would run for office in 2010. After all, she said so on their airwaves. "That's all right, sweetie, that's my district, and I'm going there soon to beat your Democrat colleague, honey. I'm going soon. 2010 is my year. Announcing it right here," McGlowan said to fellow contributor Bob Beckel on the May 14, 2008, edition of America's Election Headquarters. Despite her stated intentions, McGlowan continued to be employed by Fox News until her contract expired in February 2010 and she "officially" announced her congressional candidacy in Mississippi. Between May 2008 and February 2010, McGlowan made dozens of appearances on Fox Business and Fox News, according to a Nexis search. During that time, she frequently spoke like she was already a candidate for office. In a Jan ...

Statement Regarding Attorney General's Compensation Fund From Family of Trayvon Martin and Their Attorneys MONDAY, AUGUST 6, 2012 AT 9:44PM On February 26, 2012, Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman. George Zimmerman immediately claimed that he killed Trayvon Martin in self-defense. The Sanford Police Department and the Seminole County State Attorney’s Office did not arrest George Zimmerman for this homicide. George Zimmerman was viewed by law enforcement and the public in general as the victim while Trayvon Martin, a 17 year old teen walking home from the store armed with nothing more than Arizona Ice Tea and Skittles, was portrayed as a criminal who assaulted George Zimmerman thereby causing his own death. On March 29, 2012, in an effort to get the State of Florida to recognize her son as the true victim of this homicidal crime, Sybrina Fulton, with the help of a concerned friend, filled out initial paperwork applying to the Florida Attorney General for victim’s compensation. People, friends, fellow citizens. Affortable Health Care is now the confirmed law of the land. The charlatains will now come out of the woodwork, denouncing it every way that they can (remember the death panels?). Insurance companies hate this law because it regulates them, tells them that they cannot deny insurance or suspend it, and must spend a specific percentage of premiums on claims, not on buildings. OR REFUND. No, I have not read the entire gargantuan volume, but I doubt if anyone has. The simple fact is that insurance companies (not mutuals) recognized a cash cow, unregulated, took the premiums, spread dividends through eager investors and just socked unneeded premiums (???) in real estate. Hospitals caught on to this and tried to do the same, but became caught in a rather intensive labor squeeze and competition of area. Doctors stayed abreast and aware. In all of this mess, we ended up with hospitals where we needed them, and others...not so much. And docs tend to cluster around the fla ...
