Ender's Game = NINJAS CUTTING ONIONS! T.T It's the third book I've ever read that actually made me shed tears (the other two being the Bible, and The Alchemist). I can relate so much to Ender Wiggin. Humanity united as one, setting aside their differences, always gets me all time. *sniff* Scott Orson Card, you're now officially my new favorite author!
Movie Review for Ender's Game The movie is set in Earth's future and it showed hi-tech cinematography and effects as expected. It's ambitious and engaging sci-fi movie with a twist of a young kid (Ender Wiggin) to be the Earth's saver by using his genius tactical moves in attacking invaders. My favorite part of the movie is when Ender showed how good he is in terms of tactical games in the Zero Gravity area defeating Stilson in the Battle School. I will give it a 4.5 stars out of 5! Brace yourselves and engage to the movie!

Andrew Ender Wiggin, is the maddest ever!
With the Shadow series of books Orson Scott Card takes us back to the same universe that brought us Ender Wiggins. But instead of continuing the story of Ender we instead get to see some of the same events from the point of view of one of his best soldiers- Bean. Bean is a undersized student with an every increasing intelligence who attended Battle School with Ender. Over the events of the first book you come to find out that not only has he been a solider but in fact has been pulling the strings of the adults in the world to better himself and Ender in the long run. He also has to deal with a enemy from his times as an orphan on the streets of Rotterdam. The books are also told from the point of view of Ender's older brother Peter- He was overlooked for the Battle School program because of his own megalomania. While the first book mainly follows Bean and his early childhood, the later books follow both his and Peter's mission to unite the nations of the world and to stop Achilles- another former Battle S ...

Only the enemy tells you where he is strong. And the rules of the game are what you can do to him and what you can stop him from doing to you. I am your enemy from now on. From now on I am your teacher. again!!!
MOVIE REVIEW: Movie: Ender's Game The new sci-fi action movie ‘Ender’s Game’, adapted from the 1985 novel with the same name. The movie has its moments, then doesn’t, so I am very mixed on this movie. The positives first is the visual effects. They are pretty outstanding and incredible. Special effects studio Digital Domain did a great job at the effects as they do look pretty realistic. The second positive is the cast, most of the cast were really good. Asa Butterfield (Hugo) did a great job at portraying the character of Ender Wiggin. In fact, out of all the characters, his the most likeable character, and really, the only one you really care about as they dive into his past, his strengths and his weaknesses, the other characters, while they did a great job acting, there’s nothing written in the film about these characters besides they attend Battle School that you really care about, with the exception of Ender. Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) was good as the character Petra and Harrison Ford (St ...
Ender Wiggin. My son's 10 and pretty smart. He really admires Ender but while he sees things from the characters' point of view, he engages us in discussions on what else could Ender have done given the chance.

I've been working on a paper for a project im doing but im not done yet so if you want check it out if not just remember, when life brings you down, make a comforter. Alright here it is If you ask me we’re all dead. It’s the year 2225 and I’m just a regular 27 year old trying to live in this *** hole they call Earth. People keep telling me how this man, this boy, Ender Wiggin, will save all of us from the Buggers. I don’t believe a word of it. I’m a pretty normal guy. I don't even want this stupid job, spinning a sign around trying to get people’s attention. The only reason I’m applying is to get out of my mother’s basement, it’s not too appealing to the ladies. Hopefully I can get enough money to get my own apartment.” “I’m sorry,” the interviewer paused, “Jimothy, you don’t really have what we are looking for, you just don’t have th ...

To understand my enemy, I must understand how he loves himself. Then I too, might love him as he loves himself. Only then can I utterly destroy him. Ender Wiggin is probably one of the most complex characters to be put to paper in all science fiction.
"It's not just about winning. It's how you win." (Ender Wiggins)
In 2086, an alien species attacks Earth and humanity is barely able to fight them off and survive. 50 years later, they are still bracing for another attack. The powers that be decide young brilliant children will be humanity's best hope for the oncoming war. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) has been hand picked by Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and Major Gwen Anderson (Viola Davis) to join Battle School. Essentially, the film shows how Ender moves ups in rank and proves to be a brilliant strategist, but underlying all that is Ender's inward struggle between two polarizing traits of empathy and brutality. Ender is constantly having to prove himself while he is endlessly being pushed to his limits.
*Insert niche joke about Andrew Wiggins = Ender Wiggin here*

Review on Ender's Game Game had a lot of work to do from the outset. The movie had to overcome years of development *** a questionable production team and controversy surrounding the authors political ideals. But despite all the odds, Ender's Game winds up as a very good movie that just barely misses on being a great one. The story follows our hero Ender Wiggin, a newly recruited member of a Battle School designed to train young people to prepare to war with a deadly alien force. Ender finds himself often alienated and must overcome incredible pressure from everywhere. The story remains very faithful to Orson Scott Cards original novel, even small details that are not on surface crucial to the story are present, so its clear the film-makers did their best to make it as close to the book as they could. Only one major sub-plot about Ender's siblings back home on earth is omitted (which in my opinion was a wise choice, because taking the story away from Battle School would have hurt the flow of the film). .. ...
So apparently Asa had competition for being Ender Wiggin in the form of Chandler Riggs. Presumably. Go figure.
Ender's Game is a highly entertaining film, which I personally enjoyed the *** out of. It stars Asa Butterfield (from the film "Hugo") as Ender Wiggin, who is basically a child prodigy, especially when it comes to military strategy. I just have to get it out of the way and say it right now: Ender Wiggin is such a cool character, and one of the most enjoyable I've encountered in some time. Butterfield is one talented young actor who, in Ender's Game, is surrounded with five Oscar nominated actors and actresses Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld, Viola Davis, Ben Kingsley and Abigail Breslin), and they were all great. The coolest part of this film is "the games", where you get to see Ender strategize and demonstrate his genius. It was awesome to watch, and in some case surprisingly intense. Now, the film did have a few drawbacks: pacing, and a very cartoonish bully who was a tad over acted. Regarding the pacing, some scenes would show Ender beginning a new level of training, focus on this level for about five ...
Ender's Game. Well done and pretty true to the book. Harrison Ford was good, as always. Asa Butterfield does a good Ender Wiggin. Would have liked the movie to do more character development, but that's the difference between a book and a movie. Still 2 hours long.
Which end is Up? Ender's Game-PG-13-*** Is it worth it to blow up another species in order to save your own? Is it legitimate to destroy another country/planet/culture/way of life because you think yours is superior? Does the fact that they attacked you once, were beaten and have never threatened you again make any difference in your answers? These are some of the Points to Ponder in this movie if you care to. The premise is rather strange but delightful to the mostly adolescent or younger crowds in attendance: only kids can save the world. Or, more particularly, only Ender Wiggin can save the world. Why or how is yet another question, never really solved except that he’s dreadfully clever at games that nobody else can even play, let alone win. They are like gigantic computer games except that the Fate of the World is resting on winning them. Or so it is said. Ender is a precocious and tender but firm-minded teen (Asa Butterfield of “Hugo” fame) who is selected by Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) for t ...
Thinking of visiting my good friend Ender Wiggin tonight. I need to see him before he ships off to training camp.

Ender’s Game, the bestselling book by Orson Scott Card, was published in 1985. The sci-fi adventure story climbed quickly to popularity, won two prestigious literary sci-fi awards (the Nebula and the Hugo), and spawned five sequels. Now, almost 30 years later, the story of the gifted child who may be humanity’s last hope against a race of deadly aliens will finally see the big screen. Director Gavin Hood’s highly anticipated film opens today at a Muvico theater near you. The long journey from book to movie Author Card has always been protective of artistic control over Ender’s Game and its sequels, especially the film rights. Card reportedly turned down several offers from Hollywood studios during the 1980s and 1990s due to creative differences. Eventually, the author decided to write the screenplay himself. He submitted a completed script to Warner Bros. in 2003, but the project never moved into development. Four years later, he scrapped the original screenplay and wrote a new one from scratch fo ...

Watching Ender's Game made me realize how much empathy is exploited. Ender Wiggin, I feel your pain.
So I got to see an advanced screening of Ender's Game tonight. The film was well done, didn't miss any major plot points from the book, and I would happily recommend the film to anyone. That being said, there were some changes from the book that really bothered me (did I mention that the Ender Wiggin series of books is one of my favorite that I've read multiple times). I would recommend reading the book, as usual, because there are levels upon levels that the film just couldn't cover.

All I needed was seconds of the trailer to know they picked an awful actor for Ender Wiggin.
My family says "Andrew Wiggins is gonna be a great player for KU." My first thought: "That's awesome. His name is super close to Ender Wiggin."
Ender's Game: Another film that I was looking forward to, based on the trailers This is a difficult film to review, I don't do spoilers and in this case that makes it difficult to describe. Harrison Ford does a good turn as the General recruiting young people with free minds and excellent gaming skills to do battle with an Alien race that had tried to invade Earth many years earlier and had been repelled (but only just) Ben Kingsley is a Maori Colonel played with his usual intensity. But it is the young Asa Butterfield (of 'Hugo' fame) that is the titular protagonist Ender Wiggin (and yes, I was looking or the ginger sideburns!) The story, from the Orson Scott Card novel of the same name, is well told, and, above all, moral. It comes across as a kind of cross between Starship Troopers and the Hunger Games, with just a little of Enemy Mine thrown in. This is not a 'science fiction film', more of a tale that happens to unfold in space The film is engaging and I found yourself caring about the characters, En ...

Ender's Game. Ender's Game! ENDER'S GAME! In less than a week I'll be sitting in a theater watching my favorite novel on screen. I am exploding with anticipation. If only I were actually in Dragon Army with the great Ender Wiggin at command...sigh...if only, if only. But enough about my sci-fi dreams, here's the real question: what is your favorite film adaptation of a novel? Mine is, of course, "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Peter Jackson did for filmmaking what Tolkien did for fantasy-novel writing: pure immersion into an imaginary world. Feel free to comment :)
(WARNING: this is long and angsty and extremely self-indulgent and my attempts to Orsonify my writing style are pretty lame. I'm so sorry.) To all those who would boycott Ender's Game simply to deny support for Orson Scott Card's views, I'm a pansexual, panthestic, disabled, ethnically mixed woman, and while I don't agree with many of the author's personal viewpoints, political and social opinions, I still consider myself a fan of the book series, and am excited to see it made into a film. I'm excited to see this new fast paced retelling of a story I grew up reading. I look forward to supporting all the scriptwriters, directors, producers, and young actors who have worked hard to make this film into a reality. By all accounts they seem to care about the story of this series as much as I do. I wouldn't deny them my ticket fee just because I am disappointed in Mr. Card. I consider it more important to support the creative individuals involved in this adaptation than to send him a message, no matter how much I initially felt betrayed by his views outside of the series. It has taken me some time to come to terms with the idea that Orson Scott Car ...

Asa Butterfield as Ender Wiggin in Ender’s Game (x)
Seeing as most of you aren't complete nerds like me I'm going to make each character a little descriptions with both pros and cons! Ender Wiggin: Cold, and calculated a boy genus, when it comes to battle strategy he is our top contender. Cons, he's only twelve years old and his single combat is not the greatest Kylar Stern: Assassin, hero, even a god in some countries. Kylar Stern is the current name of The Night Angel, an ancient group of immortals. Kylar just got his powers through a mystic orb called the Devourer. Capable of absorbing anything and turning it into sheer energy for himself. Invisibility and the ability to will the Devourer into any shape that sheers all the way through materials such as concreter and steel He also cannot die. Everytime he dies he comes back at the expense of one of his loved ones life. But after one life he won't throw away another one on a stupid tournament. Cons, still not sure about the extent of his powers. Durzo Blint: Kylars master. By far the best when it comes to ...
"Twenty-two years after the story of Ender Wiggin first appeared in print, Orson Scott Card learned that the name “Ender” really exists – in Turkish. The name means “one in a million” or “something that is rarely found” – an extraordinarily appropriate name for Ender Wiggin. Card affirms, however, that he had no notion that the name actually existed in any language – he coined it only to allow the title “Ender’s Game” to be reminiscent of “endgame” in chess. " That's my boy!

... πολύ sci fi φέτος, και δε μας πειράζει καθόλου :) ... " ... Ender's Game (1985) is a science fiction novel by American author Orson Scott Card. Set in Earth's future, the novel presents an imperiled humankind that has barely survived two conflicts with the "Buggers", an insectoid alien species. In preparation for an anticipated third invasion, an international fleet maintains a school to find and train future fleet commanders. The world's most talented children, including the novel's protagonist, Ender Wiggin, are taken at a very young age to a training center known as the Battle School. There, teachers train them in the arts of war through increasingly difficult games including ones undertaken in zero gravity in the Battle Room, where Ender's tactical genius is revealed. Ender’s Game is about an intergalactic battle that’s waged by little kids. There’s really no way of getting around this last part. At the beginning of Orson Scott Card’s award-winning book, the hero, Ender Wiggin, is only six years old. He’s not much older by the novel’s end, but already he’s...

Me and Ender Wiggin. Snuggled up in bed, just like old times. (Sorry Chris)
Ender's Game is going to be a movie. Asa Butterfield is playing Ender Wiggin and Harrison Ford is playing Hyrum Graff, the principle of the Battle School. I am hyped for this movie.
Movie adaptations of beloved books sometimes let fans down, but Abigail Breslin says "Ender's Game" readers don't need to worry. "It does stay true to the book, which I'm excited about," Breslin, who portrays the sister of the gifted Ender Wiggin, told CNN.
After looking up stuff about basketball player Andrew Wiggins, it made me think of Ender Wiggin from Ender's Game. Which lead me to finally see a movie is being made for it. Which leads me to now want to reread the series. Which leads me to being one of those who get disappointed when the movie does not live up to the book. Great I've become one.
how is it not a bigger deal that his name is just actually Ender Wiggin
I think Matt Smith looks like an alien...I don't get how you guys can think he is so sexy, a man with no eyebrows. ~The Nerd Next Door
never trust anyone who identifies with Ender Wiggin.
There are a number of people that have had a major influence in how I have grown up over the years. Some have nothing to do with each other and many have different ways of doing things. They are all artists, musicians, authors, or ficticious characters. The list is always growing and they have all influenced and inspired me in one way or another. Jay Gatsby (From the novel, The Great Gatsby) Ville Valo (Frontman from the Finnish rock band HIM) Chris Motionless (Frontman from the PA metal band Motionless In White) Ryan Holiday (Author of Trust Me, I'm Lying) Adam Jonathan Dutkiewicz (Music Producer and Lead guitar player of Killswitch Engage) Walt Whitman (American Poet) George Lucas (Director of the Star Wars saga) Ender Wiggin (Ender's game by Orson Scott Card)

Last night I was reading a creepy, haunting book on my subway ride home — it was so scary, and so real, that I walked home covered in a layer of fear, as though the book were real, and all the ghost-y things were happening not to the characters, but to me.

truism stolen from my friend, the ever-elusive Ender Wiggin. "you'll never make everyone happy, you'll never be perfect, you'll never be the best at anything, except for being you... so do it, that's all you have to, and the universe will flow accordingly, because you, like everything else on this earth, are insignificant, so take the time to enjoy and accomplish... you cant be positive all of the time, nor negative, just you, and the swath of energy that flows from such shall sow truth..."

I'm sitting in my bed, completely awake at 330AM on a work day, finally reading through Ender in Exile, and I'm wondering why I felt so much more comfortable reading the Shadow series--especially Shadow Puppets and Shadow of the Giant, where the geopolitics, and tactility of international and military affairs REALLY take off--than I do reading anything with Ender Wiggin at the forefront, as protagonist. The original book, precedent of the Lusitania Trilogy, the Investment Counselor short story; all of these explore innate themes of Humanity, pressing heavily on the presentation of aggregate family life, adaptation, conglomeration, togetherness, in a way that utilizes a sort of basic image of decency and morality, appealing to the nuturing aspect of people in order to propogate the story, because the story in and of itself is propogation embodied. Even with Xenocide and that whole aiua business. Up to Children of the Mind, the story is about ensuring the survival and continuation of a large contingent of ...

I'm pretty sure if I were directing the sequel to Ender's Game, I'd cast Joseph Gordon-Levitt as an older Ender Wiggin.

Peter Wiggin is the oldest of the Wiggin children. He has a younger sister named Valentine and a 4-year younger brother named Ender. He was extremely mean and often hurt both of his siblings. Peter was given a monitor when he was born. Unfortunately for Peter, Battle School recognized Peter's angry soul, and took his monitor at when he was 5. Valentine had her's taken out at 3, but the IF asked their family to have a Third. When Peter's parents had another child, it was a symbol of his failure to him. He started torturing Ender, and eventually Valentine, too, for protecting Ender. It was not until Ender was taken away that Peter started behaving himself. His family moved, and Peter started changing and pretending he was good. His parents believed that he was becoming more well-behaved, but Valentine knew that it was the same Peter, just smarter. This is when Peter invited her into his plan. At 13, Peter had decided to take action and start getting power. He had always wanted to be in the government and po ...
I am underwhelmed by the age of the kid who will be Hollywood's physical embodiment of Ender Wiggin. I hope he's up for the challenge, and that the direction keeps true to the soul of the story; an ENDER'S GAME adaptation is a sacred thing!
Asa Butterfield (middle) is playing Ender Wiggin in the upcoming film, but you already know that! Here's a recent picture of him, just incase you didn't!
I literally just found out that Orson Scott Card is an opponent of GBLT rights and civil liberties, despite the news being about 8 months old. I would have thought the mind that spawned Ender Wiggin would be able to think forward to a future where all people have the same rights and freedoms, where we will look back twenty or fifty years to when certain states still resist same sex marriage, adoption, housing, schooling, employment, safety and happiness from estrangement, abandonment, addiction, depression and suicide in an uncaring, unjust society that's only just starting to wake up and get with the program. We will look back, and we'll know who was on the ridiculously, laughably, ashamedly wrong side of progress and they won't be able to deny it. The old dogs of the old ways are dying out, but Mr O.S. Card is young enough (in his early sixties) that he may live long enough to see himself left far behind by a world too glorious for him to imagine. And in case you weren't paying attention, imagination is ...
I really enjoyed the Hobbit. The next big movie for me will be a science fiction movie with a character you will love as much as you love Bilbo Baggins. Meet Ender Wiggin.
Asa Butterfield will play the young hero Ender Wiggin.
After seeing "Hugo," I am now 100% sold on Asa Butterfield as Ender Wiggin
Ahhh Asa Butterfield is going to be the face of Ender Wiggin in the film adaptation can't wait~~~

I have a problem with Ender Wiggin being a teenager throughout the movie. The biggest plot points in the book are about the -pt1
is going to play Valentine Wiggin for Ender's Game?!
The first picture of as Ender Wiggin in the Battle School was uploaded in 12/05/12:
saw Ender's Game still. Ender Wiggin is much too old for that. Works well when he is 8, not 14.
See that right there? That's Harrison Ford all decked out as Colonel Graff, preparing to dress down Asa Butterfield's Ender Wiggin, who's concerned that his emails to home are being blocked.
I'm so ready to be done with school. I'm sure y'all are too. WHY CAN'T I BE ENDER WIGGIN?!
Every time I read "Bradley Wiggins" (pro cyclist) I think "Ender Wiggin" (fictional genocidal child) and get excited about an E's G movie.
Too bad there is no Android Ender Wiggin...

Ender Wiggin would destroy Theon Greyjoy on any day, of any month, of any year...
If I could live my life with the determination of Ender Wiggin I think my life would be on the right track.
LIKE if you have an amigo secreto! In Brazil, there is a very common tradition among friends and families, called amigo secreto (secret friend). At the beginning of December, participants in the game write their name on a piece of paper. Each participant takes a paper (but does not reveal the name of the person on it). During the month there are exchanges of correspondence among the participants who use apelidos (fake names). On Christmas, family and friends gather to reveal their secret friends and offer them a special gift.
Ender Will Save Us A: Little Andrew "Ender" Wiggin is one of my top favorite fictional charact
Because no, I have no one to look up to. Thus, all the fictions. Ender Wiggin, Artemis Fowl. They're all just the same: they fill the void.
They are making a movie on Ender's Game. How on earth is that even possible. :-O That too with Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, Abigail Breslin as Valentine Wiggin and Asa Butterfield as Ender Wiggin??? I know there are people who are waiting for it for like 27 years, but seriously! Enger's Game, a movie. Forget about Gavin Hood, I believe even Nolan can't pull this off.
"All her most powerful memories of herself were in company with Ender Wiggin. She remembered creating herself in response to him. She also remembered how, in the Battle School, he had also changed in response to her. So when he reached up to his ear and turned off the interface for the first time since he had implanted it, Jane did not feel it as the meaningless switch-off of a trivial communications device. She felt it as her dearest and only friend, her lover, her husband, her brother, her father, her child– all telling her, abruptly, inexplicably, that she should cease to exist. It was as if she had suddenly been placed in a dark room with no windows and no door. As if she had been blinded or buried alive. And for several excruciating seconds, which to her were years of loneliness and suffering, she was unable to fill up the sudden emptiness of her topmost levels of attention. Vast portions of her mind, of the parts that were most herself, went completely blank. All the functions of all the computers ...
"It was what I was born for, isn't it? If I don't go, why am I alive?" "the adults are the enemies, not the other armies. They do not tell us the truth." "Listen, Ender, commanders have just as much authority as you let them have. The more you obey, the more power they have over you." "It's the teachers, they're the enemy. They get us to fight each other, to hate each other." "Well, I'm the bloody *** you wanted when you had me spawned." "And with that anger, he decided he was strong enough to defeat them-the teachers, his enemies." "Ender Wiggin must believe that no matter what happens, no adult will ever, ever step in to help him in any way." "You will learn to defeat the enemy." ~Orson Scott Card, Ender's Game
Asa Butterfield is gonna kill it as Ender Wiggin
Hopefully Asa Butterfield (Hugo) doesn't mess up Ender's Game. While I do find him a bad choice for Ender, and an atrocious actor (having seen Hugo a thousand times against my will because it plays on the Meijer TVs, I've picked up on this little fact), I don't think he's entirely hopeless, for the right director can mold him for the right role. But, I do think Nathan Gamble (The Mist, The Dark Knight)--only a year younger--is ten times the actor that Asa Butterfield is and would have made a better Ender Wiggin.
I don't understand this: Asa Butterfield will be starring in the new movie, Ender's Game as Ender Wiggin, on March 15, 2013.
I have only seen Asa Butterfield in Hugo, but it is enough to convince me he ought to be a pretty good Ender Wiggin.
Asa Butterfield as Ender Wiggin in the movie adaptation of Ender's Game? Oh please I wanna watch the movie now!
Who would win in a fight between Ender Wiggin and Joffrey Baratheon? HUMANITY. (But Ender, since he is apparently the immortal Batman Pope.)
