The talk in Spain was that Roman Abramovich is on the brink of buying Real Mallorca. Now duel ownership is not unknown in European football. But it is fraught with difficulty especially if the clubs end up competing against each other in the Champions League. If that is the case and he takes on Mallorca then he would have to ditch one or the other. Could it be that Roman has grown tired of Chelsea and or UEFA financial fair play regulations? Or even Jose Mourinho’s requests? Or will one of his yachts sit better in Mallorca than London? Chelsea suddenly seem to have become a selling club given the sale of David Luiz and possibly Eden Hazard. Why is that? Is it because Roman can’t compete with the Manchester City owners that he wants to take on Real Madrid and Barcelona? Is this the end of Chelsea’s Roman empire ? [Copy pasted from Daily Mail] -JCon

Chelsea are looking tie down 22-year old Eden Hazard, who still has 3 years left on his deal with the Blues, to a bumper new deal, which will make him the club’s highest paid player and also extend his stay at Stamford Bridge to 5 years. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is a huge fan of the former Lille winger, who has had a stellar campaign for the West London club so far, and is doing all in his power to shield Hazard against the temptation of making a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona or even to cash-rich French Ligue-1 giants PSG. Hazard has scored 13 and assisted 7 league goals so far this season and has been a key figure in almost all of the Blues’ successes. Chelsea winger Eden Hazard believes that he is capable of matching Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi after challenging himself to become the world's best player. Mourinho has got Hazard operating like he did Ronaldo at Real Madrid, but with one difference... he tells him where to go It was a formula that produced spectacular results at the Bernabeu and Jose Mourinho is following it once more to bring the best out of Eden Hazard. In their days together at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo was always given a free rein by Mourinho to seek and destroy. Roaming from one flank to another, and occasionally through the middle, the unstoppable Ronaldo would identify any weakness in the opposition and exploit it. He still does, of course, and now Hazard, 23, is operating along similar lines for Chelsea, with one difference. Mourinho tells him where to go. It is a distinction that illustrates how Hazard still has some developing to do, but Mourinho clearly believes that, under his direction, the Belgium attacker will get there. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho remains a fan of one-time target Shinji Kagawa, and could be ready to offer one of his main playmakers in return to Manchester United to land the Japanese star. The Blues boss revealed earlier this month in an interview with a Japanese publishing company that he was interested in signing Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund during his time as manager of Real Madrid, though the presence of Mesut Ozil and other creative players at the club meant he did not pursue this option. Kagawa eventually went to United, though he has not managed to establish himself as a regular at the club and is looking to move this January, with his old club Dortmund among those keen to snap him up. However, SportsDirect News can reveal that Mourinho may look to bring him to Chelsea, as he senses an opportunity to sign him again. Although his side are again stocked with similar players, he has not been altogether impressed by the likes of Juan Mata and Eden Hazard so far this season, and could offer one of th ...

Paper Round: Arsenal in shock Fernando Torres move Fernando Torres could make a shock move from Chelsea to Arsenal, according to a report in the Sunday People. The story claims that new Chelsea Jose Mourinho only sees five players in his squad as indispensable and is ready to listen to offers for the rest. That, says the People, is bad news for anyone not named Petr Cech, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard or Oscar. And Arsenal are ready to end Torres's largely miserable time at Stamford Bridge - he would probably command something in the £15-20m range, having cost Chelsea £50m in 2011. If the Spaniard moves across London, he will probably be joined by Gonzalo Higuain, who has seemingly been on the verge of completing a move from Real Madrid for weeks. The delay over confirmation of the Higuain has led to much gallows humour among Arsenal fans desperate to see the club come good on their promise of a summer spending spree. The Sunday Mirror reports on Arsene Wenger's pursuit of a third striker, Way ...

Evolution, not revolution, looks like being Jose Mourinho's motto in his second stint as Chelsea manager and the Portuguese knows he may have to wait to reap the tangible benefits of the club's new strategy. Mourinho took an entirely different approach when he picked up the reins at Stamford Bridge for the first time in 2004, splashing out a fortune on ready-made talent such as Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira. Chelsea, though, have made a big investment in youth in the last year or two, bringing in players like Eden Hazard, Oscar, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne and the new manager is relishing the prospect of working with the younger players. "It's a different situation but it's something I want to live," Mourinho told his first news conference since signing a four-year contract. "I haven't changed my nature and I won't accept development without trying to win - ever. "It's more difficult to keep trying to win and trying to be successful while at the same time develop ...

"They already knew for a long time at Chelsea that he was going to sign and they all told me that it would be a good thing for me," Hazard told The Guardian. "Jose Mourinho is someone special and it's a pleasure to have him as a coach. Maybe in the first training session I will be a bit intimidated - after all, it's Jose Mourinho. "But he is also ...
Chelsea transfer window preview: Departures, arrivals, needs and rumors By Callum Hamilton on Jun 3 2013, 10:49a 22 With Chelsea announcing the arrival of Jose Mourinho, we take a look at their prospects in the transfer window. In need: Central Midfield A big problem position for the Blues -- Rafael Benitez continually opted for a double-pivot last year in a 4-2-3-1 in order to get the most out of Oscar, Eden Hazard and Juan Mata. The problem is that only John Obi Mikel is really suited to playing in such a role -- Chelsea need to either branch out with their playing style, or find someone suitable to play in that position. Either way, central midfield is top priority. Potential targets: Sami Khedira Has excelled for both Real Madrid and the German national team in a double pivot, and would be a good partner for Mikel. There is a suggestion that Real Madrid will let him leave, although there has been little concrete to give reason to believe that a move is on the cards right now. Nonetheless, a player of ...

Chelsea launched a thrilling comeback to draw their FA Cup quarter final against Manchester United, despite going two goals down. United looked to be cruising, after going two- nil up after just eleven minutes. Javier Hernandez had opened the scoring, latching onto a superb lofted pass from Michael Carrick, to finish with a clever header. Then Wayne Rooney - back after being left out of the Champions League starting lineup against Real Madrid - scored direct from a free kick. His intended cross skipped through the Chelsea box, but nobody managed to get a touch on it and goalkeeper Petr Chech was deceived by the bounce. It had been all United in the first half, but Chelsea improved after the break, and Eden Hazard set them on the comeback trail with a brilliant curling finish from the edge of the area. The comeback was complete when Ramires finished off a quick counter attack as Chelsea began to dominate. United were under pressure right until the end, when man of the match Juan Mata was superbly denied by ...
Manchester United and Chelsea will replay their FA Cup quarter-final after the Reds squandered a two-goal lead in the sides' meeting at Old Trafford. Goals from Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney had a dominant home side two ahead inside 11 minutes, but a second half fightback from the visitors spawned goals from Eden Hazard and Ramires to ensure the sides must meet again at Stamford Bridge. Sir Alex Ferguson's side looked to have buried the tie by the interval, but were punished for a lacklustre second half display as Chelsea deservedly fought their way back into the tie and would have won, but for a stunning last-minute save from David De Gea to deny Juan Mata. Sir Alex Ferguson made just four changes to the side which had exited the Champions League against Real Madrid, with Wayne Rooney, Chicharito, Shinji Kagawa and Jonny Evans returning to the Reds' starting XI. While the pre-match atmosphere at Old Trafford failed to replicate the unyielding din which had soundtracked last Tuesday's tie, it wasn't l ...

experienced midfielder to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has set his sights on Real Madrid playmaker Kaka. The Russian billionaire is keen to bring in a ‘Marquee’ signing or two next summer and feels he can lure the The 30 year old former World Footballer of the Year has come to terms with the fact that he is unable to command a regular spot in the Bernabeu starting eleven and feels that his chances at Real Madrid will grow ever more limited, especially if as expected the Spanish giants invest in new midfield talent at the end of the season, and Kaka is now ready to consider his options. Though Abramovich and Chelsea’s technical development team have put in place a transfer policy that is built to stand the club in good stead in the long term, hence the signing of youthful talent such as Oscar, Cesar Azpilicueta, Eden Hazard and Victor Moses last summer, the club will look to balance this with the inclusion of experienced talents. To this end the club has been keen to retain the ser ...

Jose Mourinho is ready to return to Stamford Bridge and rescue his beloved Chelsea. All the Special One is waiting for is the call from Blues’ billionaire owner Roman Abramovich, who is desperately seeking a new manager to take over from reviled interim boss Rafa Benitez. Rafa’s Bridge reign is in disarray after a disastrous run that includes Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Newcastle. But Red Rom had better be quick. Mourinho, who is sure to leave Spanish champs Real Madrid this summer, has already been bombarded with lucrative job offers. But the Special One will ignore them all if there is a chance to go “home”. Another La Liga defeat at the weekend, courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo’s own goal at Granada, piled even more pressure on the underfire boss. The intensity of feeling at the Bernabeu has increased ahead of the double-header with Manchester United in the Champions League last-16. And sandwiched between those two huge games is a Copa del Rey semi-final second leg away to arch-rivals Barcelona.
Benitez claims Chelsea haven't got enough players... so why are 22 out on loan (including Essien, De Bruyne, McEachran and Courtois)? As Rafa Benitez complains of the fatigue eating away at his thin squad, Chelsea have an army of 22 players on loan to clubs around the world. They include 19-year-old Lucas Piazon at Malaga and Michael Essien at Real Madrid, but Benitez insists none of these players are able to help ease the burden. Some are locked into long loans, unable to return mid-season, and most are simply too young and inexperienced for the types of challenge facing Chelsea. Sympathy is likely to be in short supply but Benitez said: ‘Some of them we cannot bring back because we have the agreement they will carry on and some of them are too young. We need experience playing at this level, so maybe they couldn’t play anyway. ‘The squad would be fine if we had all the players here but the injuries we’ve had, like Oriol Romeu at a time when John Mikel Obi is in the Africa Cup of Nations, and wit ...

Chelsea FC record first Abramovich-era profit. Chelsea Football Club has said it made a profit of £1.4m ($2.2m) for the financial year ending on 30 June, the first time the club has made a profit since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took over as owner in 2003. The West London club also recorded a record group turnover of £255.7m. The team, which won the Champions League last season as well as the FA Cup, are second in the Premier League. The profit comes after a £67.7m loss in the previous financial year. Chelsea and Manchester City are going head-to-head for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao. The Sunday Express says the Colombian savaged Chelsea in the European Super Cup final in Monaco two months ago – an embarrassing night witnessed by Stamford Bridge owner Roman Abramovich. From that moment he has made the signing of the 26-year-old a cash-no-object priority. But so have Premier League champions City whose manager Roberto Mancini has vetted the red hot striker this season. Mancini was left frustrated when Chelsea beat his club to the signing of gifted Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard. He doesn’t want the same scenario over Falcao, who has helped his team outshine neighbours Real Madrid in La Liga this season.
Zidane: Hazard already a Chelsea star French legend Zinedine Zidane is full of praise for Chelsea star Eden Hazard. The Belgium international was wanted by Zidane to sign for Real Madrid. "He has immediately adapted to the Premier League. Hazard, a player with the most assists to his name, is already one of the most important pawns on the chessboard of (Roberto) Di Matteo," said Zizou. "He is a player with a personality on the field. He gives fans pleasure. Whatever his age, he makes a deep impression on me. He lets the others play better, that's his strength." My take The master has spoken...no contest...super player, Hazard.
I am not a Barca fan, but I think Edwin Van daser views on CR7, to be superior over Messi I disagree, even sir Alex Ferguson, Wenger even Mourinho cant say this. So, Edwin can say what he likes, CR7 is his former team mate at Manchester United. Edwin saying Ronaldo is more better than Messi is laughable. We've seeing Messi versus Manchester United, CR7 and Vandersa severally n little Leo hve always been their tormentor in chief. A true ball of Leo Messi in 2009 UCL final almost sent Van daser to his timely grave. people are doing evry thing possible to see Messi not win D Ballon'dorm for D 4th time setting a new world record jst out of sheer jealousy and envy. I think should be anyone who deserve outside Messi, it is also a Barcelona player as no one in Mourinho's Real Madrid, should Cristiano deserve it, then Didier Drogba, Oscar n Eden Hazard of Chelsea also deserve it. But for me I dnt either of them wouldn't win it this term, but next term, Messi will to nick it for the 4th time.

Just over three months after Chelsea were crowned European champions, we will discover how we begin our defence of the title when the group stage draw takes place in Monaco this afternoon (Thursday). The scheduled start of the draw is at 4.45pm UK time, with the Chelsea squad in the principality ahead of the Super Cup match the following evening. When it comes to the Champions League draw, we will take our place in the Pot 1 containing the eight top-seeded teams which means no rematch with Bayern Munich nor Barcelona at this stage of the competition. We will also be kept away from Spanish and Portuguese champions Real Madrid and Porto, and Italian runners-up AC Milan who are also in Pot 1. Instead the Serie A champions Juventus are potential group stage opponents as they are in Pot 2 containing the next eight highest seeds. Manchester City, as a fellow English club, cannot be drawn in the same group as Chelsea, which leaves six other possibilities. A draw against Benfica would pit us against our quarter-f ...

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have beaten London rivals Tottenham to the £25m signing of Brazilian wonderkid Oscar from Internacionale. The young playmaker will join new signings Marko Marin and Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge as Roman Abramovic continues to add eye-catching acquisitions to his squad, and shows his willingness to spend money to bring the most exciting talents to the club to close the gap in the league that opened up last season. Former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas was said to be closing in on Oscar’s signature, after bidding £11m offer last week but Roberto Di Matteo has now pipped the Portugese man to a deal. Oscar, who is described as a “typical Brazilian number 10″ caught the eye last summer when he became the first player to score a hat-trick in the FIFA Under 20 World Cup final against Portugal, and he has subsequently attracted the attentions of both Real Madrid and Barcelona. He can play both as a playmaker or in an attacking role behind the striker and can also ...

United are in the market for top class attacking options having tried and failed to land Eden Hazard. Of more immediate interest to Ferguson is the future of Modric – a player he has tracked for the past 12 months. He baulked at Spurs’ £32m valuation of the playmaker – currently on internation ...
